Will Smith’s film success continues, as his latest sci-fi thriller I Am Legend has topped the United States Box Office. I Am Legend, which was released on December 14, raked in over $76.5 million dollars, making it the highest grossing movie ever released in the month of December. I Am Legend shattered the $72 million dollar record set by The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, which was released in 2003. The movie features Smith, 39, as a virologist survives a man-made virus that has wiped out most of civilization on earth.
According to The New York Post, Snoop Dogg will make his debut in the NBA’s Entertainment League later this month. The rapper is the latest celebrity to join the ultra-exclusive league, which is an official extension of the NBA. The league features A-listers like Will Ferrell, rapper Ice Cube, Sacha Baron Cohen, Leonardo DiCaprio, Don Cheadle, Ashton Kutcher and others. The league features 16 teams and even distributes awards similar to the ones NBA players receive, including replica NBA Championship rings.
Rapper Fabolous has spoken out again and denied being at Club Duvet on November 23, the night his childhood friend Shamal McKinney was stabbed to death, during an altercation with another man. According to Fabolous, 30, he was celebrating Thanksgiving with his family in New Jersey. "On Thanksgiving, I think I came out of the house one time - to go get eggnog," Fabolous told The New York Daily News. "And there wasn't any eggnog at Club Duvet." Fabolous also denied that members of his Street Family Entertainment were thugs who snatched expensive jewelry from unwitting celebrities in Manhattan. "I in no way support criminal activity. Most of the people that are around me work in association with what I do in the music business…I don't have any hangers-on. I can't really afford them."
Rapper Ju-Ju of Hip-Hop group The Beatnuts was arrested in Stockholm, Sweden on Thursday (December 13) following a performance at nightclub Annelie Akerstedt. According to Sweden’s Local newspaper, a fight broke out with someone backstage, after the Hip-Hop group finished performing. JuJu, born Jerry Tineo, denied being connected to the assault and apparently blamed lax security for the altercation, which officials considered a minor offense. "That's pure bulls**t. The security did the job they are supposed to do. They didn't let anybody backstage who wasn't supposed to be there. They intervened quickly and called the police, exactly as they should," Debaser's managing director Annelie Åkerstedt said.
