MARIAH’S REAL MEANING?

Somebody hit me with this as an explanation as to the title of Mariah’s new CD, E=MC2.

“Just to clarify your Mariah E=MC2 comment it has nothing to do with Eminem. E stands for Emancipation(as in the title of her last album) MC is self explanatory and the 2 or squared simply means part 2. Emancipation of Mariah 2 but doesn't E=MC2 sound alot better.”

Ddot the King hit me with that.

Charlamagne from Wendy Williams said this:

“Come on illseed! Mariah’s album title is E for Emancipation the MC for Mariah Carey and the 2 represents the Sequel - Emancipation Part 2.”

LMAO! I didn’t really think that the E meant Eminem, but it’s more interesting that way. Sorry Mimi!!

RUN’S DAUGHTER DOING A LISA BONET!?

The homey B Eaze hit me up and told me that he came across some info regarding Vanessa Simmons and how she is doing a nude scene for an upcoming movie, with Guess who? Quentin Tarantino! I am not a big fan of that dude – in fact I am not a fan at all. The movie is called Inglorious Bastards and it comes out in 2009. The rumor says that she’ll be doing a graphic nude scene. I know she wants to be regarded as a serious actor, but “Angel Heart” messed Lisa Bonet’s career up. Read our interview with Vanessa while you are at it! She discusses the FACTS, not conjecture.

ARETHA IS GOING TO DISS BEYONCE AND TINA TURNER

There were a lot of little petty incidents at the Grammys…I ignored a lot of them. You know, the whole thing with Rihanna pulling Beyonce’s man on stage like it was her man or something. Anyway, Aretha Frankin is universally regarded as the Queen of Soul. So, when Beyonce called Tina Turner the “Queen” before they performed, Aretha had to to issue the following statement.

"I am not sure of whose toes I may have stepped on or whose ego I may have bruised between the Grammy writers and Beyoncé. However, I dismissed it as a cheap shot for controversy. I thank the Grammys and the voting academy for my 20th Grammy and love to Beyoncé anyway."

Also, I heard that Aretha refused to perform song with Mary, Alicia or any of the young bucks out there. Good for Aretha. No need to have anybody trying to upstage her.

AND POPPA KNOWLES TO THE RESCUE!

Poppa don’t take no mess! He has promptly fired back at Aretha on the charge that B did something disrespectful to the Queen.

“I’m not even going to take this to [Beyonce]. Something this ridiculous, it’s childish, it’s unprofessional. And it’s a sad day when egos get bruised because somebody used the word king, queen, prince or princess.”

He’s kind of right…right?

AMERIE FINALLY GETS DROPPED?

Getting dropped is not always a bad thing! TRUST! When you aren’t making any forward progress, something has to give. With that said, I heard Amerie has been let go by Columbia Records. As you know, she’s quite an international star, but never quite caught ablaze in the United States. Her album Because I Love It never got a release date in the States. I am hearing Amerie is already about to sign to another major label, but we’ll see. Also, she has a nice lil’ diddy bop song (even though I had this up back in the summer!). I knew this, but Jye reminded me. The CW network has ended “Girlfriends,” a long running show that had all the fly ladies. We saw it coming.

Martin Scorsese will be directing the definitive biopic about Bob Marley.

I am hearing the Lil’ Troy, the H-Town rap legend, recently announced his retirement.

By the way, the KKK supporting Barack is and was a satire (aka a joke by a website), but he’s on such a roll it seemed like it might be true.

Another rumor gets busted. I heard that Jason Fox and his Aunt Jackie are OK. Now, if he just could get J.D. and Def Jam to give him a release date.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. -- A Springdale day care teacher raped a 4-year-old girl in an incident caught on tape, police said.

Cesar Monarrez, 18, had worked at the Royal Children's Academy part-time for about three or four months, officials said. According to an arrest warrant for Monarrez, the alleged victim described how he inappropriately touched her.

She told authorities that her privates were burning because "Bubba" touched her with a knife inside his pocket. Police identified Bubba as Monarrez, and investigators said closed-circuit video shows him pushing his hands beneath the girl's waistband while she was asleep.

Monarrez has been charged with rape.

OHHH...NO...Time to turn into a vigilante if that's my kid.

Now, this might sound crazy, but it is actually happening. What is crazy to me is that, not only will these products be available in the supermarket, but also it will not carry any special labeling. Last month, after years of debate, the Food and Drug Administration declared that meat and milk from most cloned livestock, and from their conventionally reproduced offspring, are as safe to eat as food from any other animals.

Wary of consumer backlash, some large grocers and restaurant operators say they plan to shun such products – whether from clones or their offspring – and will make sure their suppliers help them keep that vow. (Dallas News)
