The National Debt Clock keeps a running tally of total U.S. debt and what each family owes.

In fact, the digital counter has been moving so much that it recently ran out of digits to display the ballooning figure: $10,150,603,734,720, or roughly $10.2 trillion, as of Saturday afternoon.

The clock was put up by the late real estate mogul Seymour Durst in 1989 when the U.S. government's debt was a mere $2.7 trillion, and was even turned off during the 1990s when the debt decreased.

It will be replaced in 2009 with a new clock, said Jordan Barowitz, a spokesman for the Durst Organization. The new clock will be able to track debt up to a quadrillion dollars, which is a '1' followed by 15 zeros.

In the meantime, the '1' from "$10.2" has been moved left to the LCD square once occupied solely by the digital dollar sign. A non-digital, improvised dollar sign has been pasted next to the '1.'

The current clock had enough digits to measure the amount of money owed by the U.S. government until debt recently hit $10 trillion. Since then, more eyes have been on the fixture near touristy Times Square.

The Constitution of the United States of America

I HATE Columbus:)  For real, and the fact I live in a city named after this dude is just IRONIC.  I never did get down with Columbus, even when I was in elementary through high school.  My history professors couldn't stand me, because I would be the one challenging them in classes.  They would be talking all this stuff about how incredible an explorer he was, and how America is so grateful, blah, blah, blah...

I still hear people say that kind of stuff, and then I be checkin' 'em.  I be on 'em like "so you're saying the fact he enslaved people is an achievement?  you really feel as if he "found" a New Land, when it's OBVIOUS other people already inhabited this land?"

Columbus wasn't anything more than a snake, a thief, a pirate, and a slave owner.  He's the lowest of low, and his punk azz died of a dayum heart attack caused by him having Reiter's Syndrome, which basically means he had Syphillis or some other VD that caused the body to react and cause a heart attack.  hell, he even died thinking he had sailed the coasts of ASIA, not America...lol...

I dunno...he just seems like a sailor/pirate who happened to stumble upon a coast, and his legend has grown over the years to personify the idea that the European had done so much good in finding this new land.  Sad thing is, they typically call what he, and the conquistadors, and the other European "explorers" did...a VIRUS.  You know, something that travels to other places, populates, and destroys everything around it (Native Americans, Africans, etc...)

These places will full and plentiful, and when the Europeans couldn't take them out with force, they used germ warfare aka epidemics they carried within themselves that killed off entire nations.

Johnston said he has dated Palin since his freshman year in high school.

"We were planning on getting married a long time ago with or without the kid," he said. "That was the plan from the start."
