(AllHipHop News) Yesterday (July 14th), New York City mobilized and peacefully protested the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the murder of Trayvon Martin.

Led by founder of non-profit organization Kevin Powell, Union Square’s normal hectic foot traffic intensified. The protests centered around the theme of “no protest without a purpose” as Powell professed.

City Council Member Jumaanee Williams, donning an all black hoodie in 88 degree temperature gave a riveting speech on the fallacy of a “post racial nation”:

Ann Tripp and Bob Slade from WBLS were a few of the many speakers at the protest to share their thoughts with Bob Slade urging for “constant indignation.”
