(AllHipHop News) The long-awaited Tupac Shakur biopic is one step closer to becoming a reality. Morgan Creek Productions and Emmett Furla Films are working with Pac’s mother Afeni Shakur to begin filming Tupac next year. Ms. Shakur will serve as executive producer for the project. James G. Robinson, David Robinson, LT Hutton, Randall Emmett, and George Furla have all been named as producers for the movie.

Tupac will cover the iconic artist’s rise to stardom. Neither an official cast nor director for the movie have been announced yet, but Training Day director Antoine Fuqua was attached to the project in 2011.
Emmett Furla Films recently produced 2 Guns starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. Morgan Creek previously released the Daniel Craig and Naomi Watts movie Dream House.
Production of Tupac will take place in Atlanta, Georgia starting in 2014.
