(AllHipHop News) As one-fourth of the supergroup Slaughterhouse, Joell Ortiz is preparing to release the crew’s third album, but the Brooklyn emcee is working on his next solo LP as well.
Ortiz’s upcoming House Slippers will be his first album released through Penalty Entertainment.

“I truly believe it’s going to be a big year for Joell Ortiz,” states the rapper. “Neil Levine over at Penalty gets it and is giving me, the Yaowa, a platform to do exactly what I wanna do… me!”
Penalty recently signed a multi-year distribution deal with Sony Red. The label now covers recording music, artist management, music publishing, touring, and merchandising.
“I’m thrilled to be welcoming Joell to our rapidly expanding Penalty family. He is an amazing talent and his new album House Slippers is destined to be an instant Hip Hop classic,” added Penalty Entertainment CEO Neil Levine.
House Slippers will be Joel Ortiz first solo album since 2011’s Free Agent. The project is expected to be released this summer.
