Childish Gambino Tapped To Voice Spider-Man

DONALD GLOVER AKA CHILDISH GAMBINO FINALLY GETS TO PLAY SPIDER-MAN

(AllHipHop News) Donald Glover, who also goes by the rap name Childish Gambino, has been lobbying for years to play Spider-Man on the big screen. The former Community star’s fans even started a #donald4spiderman hashtag campaign.

The Atlanta native was never selected to star as the Marvel superhero in a movie, but he will get to be the voice of Spidey on the small screen.

Glover will provide the vocals for the half-Hispanic, half-Black character Miles Morales on Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors. The 13-year-old Miles is Spider-Man in an alternate universe. This world’s web slinger, Peter Parker (Drake Bell), meets Miles as he jumps dimensions chasing the supervillain the Green Goblin.

“That’s the great part about the Spider-Man costume: He can be anybody,” said Glover. “Spider-Man could be a girl. Spider-Man could be an old man. You don’t know. So I just tried to be as me as possible, because you’re always just going to bring it back to yourself when you watch the show.”
