Former Lead Investigator In Notorious B.I.G Case Dies

THE FORMER LAPD OFFICER HAS PASSED AWAY

The former LAPD detective who served as the lead investigator on Notorious B.I.G’s murder case has died, the LA Times reports.

Russell Poole reportedly collapsed Wednesday morning (Aug.19) after having a heart attack while meeting with investigators about a cold case. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Poole worked the case for about a year and claimed that his findings led to Biggie’s murder being a conspiracy involving corrupt LAPD officers and Suge Knight, who is now facing life in prison for murder. He resigned from the force in 1999 due to not liking the direction of his investigations, including Big’s case. His murder remains unsolved.

The Brooklyn rapper was fatally shot on March 9th, 1997 in Los Angeles, CA.
