(AllHipHop News) Royce Da 5’9″ is about to let loose his next project Layers on April 15th. Before the album arrives in stores and online, the Detroit emcee dropped the track “Dead President Heads.” The cut has some rap fans questioning if certain lines were directed at Tyler The Creator and Kevin Gates.

At one point Royce spits, “N*ggas diss Marshall after they copy his whole reference. Like we won’t send an actual firing squad to they studio.”
Back in 2014, Tyler blasted the Marshall “Eminem” Mathers executive produced compilation album Shady XV. The Odd Future founding member wrote on Twitter (then deleted), “i love you marshall, you are my favorite rapper but dude shadyxv is f**ing ASS hahaha why wont someone who loves him tell him NO.”
Another line from “Dead President Heads” appears to be a response to Kevin Gates criticizing the Black Lives Matter movement. In a recent interview, the Louisiana rhymer stated “all lives matter,” and he suggested police brutality is the result of the victims acting like a “n*gger.”
Royce raps, “Blacks never had each other’s back. Rappers saying ‘all lives matter.’ Okay, now we actually spineless.”
Layers is available for pre-order on iTunes.
UPDATE:
Some observers have pointed out the “they copy his whole reference” line could have been aimed at Tyler since people have implied he is heavily influenced by Eminem. While the “firing squad” bar is likely a response to J. Cole rapping about Em on his 2014 Forest Hills Drive track “Fire Squad.”
Royce debuted “Dead President Heads” during an appearance on Sway In The Morning. Watch the interview below.
