LIL UZI VERT FLIPS THE INTERVIEW ON US!

The very eccentric Lil’ Uzi Vert recently shared that he definitely planned on turning up during his BET Hip Hop Awards performance!

He also revealed that he is working on his forthcoming untitled album during an interview with AllHipHop.com at the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards.

The Philly rapper gave his opinion on the new generation of Hip Hop artists not knowing the classic songs and bars of the legends that came before them. He also touched on the controversial subject of ghostwriting in Hip Hop.

As far as ghostwriting, Lil’ Uzi says, that while someone may not be writing his bars for him, he doesn’t write them either as he usually just goes in the booth and freestyles his songs.

“The only ghost I want is the car. On the real, anything that you’ve probably heard, I haven’t wrote it. I just go in the booth and freestyle it,” said Lil’ Uzi Vert.”

When asked about some of his peers not knowing about legendary rappers, he interjected saying,

“Let me tell you something before you get into that, I ain’t like that. I’m from Philadelphia; I’m from up north. So I have no choice but to know real rap. My mom used to listen to Biggie.”

The rapper’s style and appearance aren’t the only thing that stand out. We also got down to the origin of Lil’ Uzi Vert’s stage name.

“I was rapping one day and some guy was like dag you rap fast like a machine gun, like a lil’ uzi or something, and I was just like oh Lil Uzi whatever; it worked,” Lil Uzi Vert told AllHipHop.com
