(AllHipHop News) Shawn “Jay Z” Carter is continuing to make moves in the film/television industry.
The Hip Hop mogul recently signed on as a producer for the TIME: The Kalief Browder Story TV series and for the upcoming In the Heights movie.
Jay is also taking part in the creation of two projects related to the story of Trayvon Martin.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Roc Nation boss and The Weinstein Company have acquired the rights to Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It and Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin.
The books will be used to create a docuseries and a feature film about the events surrounding Martin’s death at the hands of neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in 2012.
Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder a year later.
The incident and the murder trial became a national news story which led to the formation of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Jay Z’s partnership with Hollywood heavyweight Harvey Weinstein and his company was announced in 2016.
