Nipsey Hussle Releases Documentary About His “Smart Store” The Marathon (VIDEO)

THE CRENSHAW NATIVE EXPLAINS THE NEW CONCEPT FOR HIS CRENSHAW ESTABLISHMENT

(AllHipHop News) Nipsey Hussle documented the journey to opening his new clothing store in a 39-minute film published on the WorldStarHipHop YouTube page.

Consumers will be able to shop at the Crenshaw native’s The Marathon Clothing flagship at 3420 W. Slauson Ave beginning on June 17th.

Nipsey spoke about the establishment’s grand opening in an interview with Power 106.

“Crenshaw and Slauson is going to be blocked off. The police are going to be outside. The whole city’s going to be out,” he said. “We’re going to have jumpers for the kids – games, giveaways. It’s going to be like a carnival on Crenshaw and Slauson.”

The Marathon is being presented as a “smart store” where customers can download an app in order to activate special features.

“When you walk into the store, there’s going to be tags that are going to have content,” explained Nip. “So we’ll promote this certain shirt, and it’ll be a piece of content that’s programmed specifically to this shirt so that when the shirt drops you get the shirt and a piece of content that’s not on iTunes or YouTube. You can’t consume it anywhere else.”

Besides being an innovative entrepreneur, Nipsey Hussle is also known for his rap projects such as The Marathon, The Marathon Continues, Crenshaw, and Mailbox Money.
