Jay-Z’s ‘4:44’ Spends Second Week At #1; Hip Hop Holds Top 5 Spots On The Billboard 200 Chart

IT’S ANOTHER BIG COMMERCIAL WEEK FOR RAP ACTS

(AllHipHop News) For the fifth time in his legendary career, Jay-Z has an album that spent more than one week at #1 on the Billboard 200.

His 4:44 clocked in its second week at the top of the chart with 87,000 equivalent album units.

Jay now has 25 total weeks at #1 with 14 lifetime chart toppers.

The Roc Nation boss is second only to Eminem (31 weeks) among rappers for total cumulative weeks at #1.

On the July 20 Billboard 200, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN rises back up to #2 with 56,000 units.

French Montana’s Jungle Rules debuts at #3 with 52,000 units.

DJ Khaled’s Grateful sits at #4 with 43,000 units, and 21 Savage’s Issa Album drops to #5 in its second week with 40,000 units.

Those Hip Hop projects holding the top five spots on the chart surpass the previous week where rap acts controlled the top four spots.
