Video: Common Rocks the House as Part of AT&T’s Black History Month Series

COMMON AND ACTIVIST KEVIN POWELL HIT THE ROAD ON AT&T’S “28 DAYS” BLACK HISTORY TOUR!

Regarded as one of Hip-Hop’s most innovative voices, Common graced the stage at the “AT&T 28 Days” series in Raleigh, North Carolina this week. Common came on board as a voice for Black History Month for the second time this year under the tour.

The poetic MC shared his latest single with an enthusiastic crowd who welcomed him with a warm call-and-response sing along. Common must have felt the energy, as he found himself motivated to spit an impromptu freestyle.

As the host, Common gave a dope introduction to the evening’s celebrity guest speaker, Kevin Powell. Powell, the author of his eleventh book, Barack Obama, Ronald Reagan, and The Ghost Of Dr. King, gave well-received performance as he spoke on the influence of being a leader.

The “28 Days” series sponsored by AT&T is dedicated to educating and empowering today’s youth on the positive efforts yielded from the African American community. It is AT&T’s hope to inspire and challenge people to rethink and achieve greatness by reflecting on the past and creating your own history. The tour will hit Washington D.C., Oakland, CA, Cleveland, OH, Chicago, IL, and Detroit, MI, in the coming weeks.
