“My system is understandable. I make this sh*t up as I go along, so everyday I’m almost rewriting the playbook.” – Curren$y
In the final part of AllHipHop.com’s extensive interview with Jet Life Recordings C.E.O. Curren$y, the New Orleans native looks back on the his debut album for Warner Bros. Music, The Stoned Immaculate, and the response he’s received from the fans and label since its release in early June.
Curren$y theorizes on his ability to decipher which of his music will make an album versus what ends up on a mixtape, and how exactly his recent Cigarette Boats EP with Harry Fraud came together.
As for if he ever fears that he’s over-saturating the market with his constant and consistent releases, Spitta emphatically says “no,” and he compares his releases to that of one of his favorite rappers – Max B.
Moments later, Curren$y makes an analogy using a weed man who gives you more weed when you already have some left over from last time. Would you really say no?
With his next major label release on the horizon, Curren$y concludes, “It will be like The Stoned Immaculate, but it won’t be The Stoned Immaculate; it’s Immaculary.”
