(AllHipHop News) June 2015 will mark the 20th anniversary of The Black Eyed Peas and according to Will.I.Am, their storied history involves more than simply releasing music. During a recent interview with CNN, Will.i.Am discusses the recent $3 billion sale of Beats by Dre, helping start iTunes and more.
Will.I.Am has teamed up with artist Yuri Suzuki to create an exhibit for the Digital Revolution show at London’s Barbican Centre that will showcase machines While explaining the magnitude of Apple purchasing Beats by Dre for $3 billion, Will.I.Am points out a key difference between the Head of Samsung Gregory Lee (President and CEO of Samsung USA) and Dr. Dre:
It used to be somebody from the mountains came down and said ‘Here is your new technology’ that you never knew. He could be walking down the street and you never knew. I don’t know what the head of Samsung looks like. But, for some reason they gives me the stuff to talk to the world with. But Dr. Dre is different. You know him. You listen to his music. Now he brought you headphones.
The Black Eyed Keys will celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2015 and . In 2004, The Black Eyed Keys’ “Hey Mama” was featured in the original television commercial advertisement for Apple’s iPod, a fact Will.i.Am has not forgotten:
