(AllHipHop News) Me Too has been one of the most impactful social movements in recent history. Even though the cause has brought international awareness to sexual misconduct and sexual harassment, there has been some criticism of #MeToo as well.

Amber Rose expressed her concerns with the movement during an appearance on the syndicated talk show The Raw Word. While speaking with hosts Michael Eric Dyson and Claudia Jordan, the SlutWalk organizer shared her views about Me Too.

“It’s kind of frustrating to me because all of a sudden feminism became such a mainstream thing now that white – no shade – white, rich actresses start coming out saying ‘Me too, me too.’ But what happened to all of us?” stated Rose. “What happened to the strippers, the LGBTQ community, and the black girls in college? Nobody wanted to talk about these people.”

Activist Tarana Burke, an African-American woman, is often credited as creating the phrase “Me Too” – as it relates to showing support for victims of sexual assault – back in 2006. White actresses such as Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowen played a role in spreading the #MeToo hashtag on social media in 2017.

(AllHipHop News) Safaree Samuels is continuing his press tour following the “leaking” of his nude pictures. The Easily Offended podcast recently hosted the “Hunnid” rapper for an interview.

The show included a discussion about whether Safaree was once a ghostwriter for his ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj. When asked directly if he ever penned full verses or songs for Minaj, the Love & Hip Hop star replied, “No.”

These Nicki/Safaree ghostwriting rumors have circulated for years. In 2015, he told The Breakfast Club, “Don’t say, ‘I don’t have no talent.’ Because every time it came to writing raps and doing music – it was me, her, and a beat. She doesn’t do it by herself. It’s me and her.”

The social media personality also known as StuntMan eventually walked back those comments but maintained he contributed to the creation of Minaj’s music. Safaree later filed a lawsuit seeking royalties from the Pink Friday, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, and The Pinkprint albums before dropping the suit in 2016.

(AllHipHop News) Juelz Santana has turned himself in after TSA agents found a gun in his carry-on bag at Newark Liberty International Airport.

The rapper was attempting to pass through security checkpoints on Friday evening (March 9), when security found a two-shot .38 Derringer pistol in his bag.

Juelz fled the scene and left the gun, his bag and his driver’s license behind, which allowed authorities to quickly identify the rapper as a suspect.

Juelz fled the airport in a taxi and remained on the loose until about 1 a.m. this morning.

The rapper finally surrendered to police and was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Juelz may have more legal problems to deal with now, since he was booked on an unspecified federal warrant.

Juelz’ incident at the airport caused him to miss a performance at The Grand Nightclub in San Francisco over the weekend, prompting an angry response from the promoter.

“It’s 2018 — I don’t know how he thought that would be OK,” said the promoter of the event.

(AllHipHop News) Legal issues continue to plague Bryan “Birdman” Williams and his Miami mansion.

The Cash Money Records boss recently served Lloyd’s of London with a lawsuit, claiming they are refusing to cover damages his $14 million residence sustained during Hurricane Irma.

Birdman maintains the expensive mansion had significant wind and water damage after the hurricane in September of 2017.

According to the lawsuit, Birdman is accusing Lloyd’s of London of underpaying benefits that were desperately needed to repair the home.

He’s seeking an unspecified amount in damages and attorney fees.

In December of 2017, the mansion went into foreclosure after Birdman defaulted on a $12 million dollar loan, from a company called EMG Transfer Agent in 2015.

Just last month, Birdman was hit with a $250,000 lien for failing to pay a cleaning company for work they did at the house.

And in 2014, a $1 million lien was slapped on the house after Birdman allegedly failed to pay the Zankey Construction company for their work.

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West has ended his working relationship with longtime manager Izvor “Izzy” Zivkovic.

According to Billboard.com, the hitmaker has taken the decision to end his working relationship with Zivkovic, a discreet figure in Kanye’s camp who avoided the spotlight.

The Croatian born manager, who was considered to be a close confidant of the multi-hyphenate musician, is believed to have joined the rapper/producer’s team around the time of the release of his 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

No details have been given concerning the reason for the split, which comes two years after the rapper added talent powerhouse Scooter Braun, who was primarily responsible for handling the artist’s non-music ventures such as his clothing line and Yeezy shoe, to his management team.

The 36-year-old, who boasts Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande among his clients, is now expected to take on all management responsibilities for Kanye, who is represented by CAA.

The news comes as Kanye faces the possibility of a legal battle with a Chinese company which scooped up the rights to sell clothing using his Yeezy brand.

The rapper lost the trademark to sell Yeezy clothing last year.

He filed documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to reclaim the mark for use selling apparel, but discovered a Chinese firm named Fujian Baby Network Technology Co. swooped in and trademarked the term ‘Yeezy Boost,’ the name of the shoes the hip-hop star designs for Adidas, as a clothing brand – two months before he did.

A letter from Trademark Office officials to bosses at Kanye’s Mascotte Holdings company states that they have suspended his application due to the “likelihood of confusion” with the Yeezy Boost brand.

The rapper launched his first Yeezy clothing collection, in collaboration with Adidas Originals, in 2015, and is currently preparing to debut his seventh season of apparel.

(AllHipHop News) Juelz Santana has negotiated to surrender to police after TSA agents found a gun in his luggage at Newark Liberty International Airport.

The rapper was attempting to pass through security around 6:00 P.M on Friday (March 9), when TSA agents found what turned out to be a .38 Derringer gun in his bag.

Juelz, born LaRon James, fled the scene and allegedly escaped in a taxi and has remained on the lam ever since.

According to The South Passaic Daily Voice, police went to Juelz’ home in Totowa, New Jersey, but could not find the rapper.

But his reps have confirmed he is slated to turn himself in to authorities tomorrow (March 11) at 9:00 AM for possessing the two-shot pistol.

Juelz Santana could face jail time for previous felony convictions which prohibit him from carrying firearms.

(AllHipHop News) Houston rap legend Scarface is heading back to high school, to teach students as part of a new music entrepreneurship program.

The rapper is will teach at a course centered on the music business at Jack Yates High School.

“We’ll learn how to produce, we’ll learn how to write, we’ll learn how to engineer, we will learn how to make videos,” Scarface told students during a recent visit to Jack Yates High School said. “We will learn how to put our music on a platform for sale and you will be paid for the music if you sell any records.”

According to the Houston Chronicle, a new building is being constructed to house a recording studio for the students, who will earn college credits thanks to a partnership with Houston Community College.

“Ninety percent of the product is not behind the microphone — it’s behind the scenes,” Yates Principal Kenneth Davis said.
