Bizzy Bone & Turk Respond To Migos Saying They Are The Best Group Ever

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixqSXMoM1wI

By Rico Panacea (@RicoPanacea)

(AllHipHop Rumors) It seems like the Migos have ruffled some feathers with a recent interview. The interview happened last week while the group was on their California press run.

The rap trio recently released their ‘Culture II’ album and held a concert with iHeart Radio.

The group was interviewed by radio personality Big Boy after the event as Big Boy was there hosting the iHeart concert featuring the group.

During their interview, Big Boy asked the group if they felt they were the biggest group in Hip Hop right now. A question to which the group answered to feeling like they were the best group ever.

Some Hip Hop veterans haven’t taken the interview comments lightly and have begin to offer their opinions. Two of those veterans being Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony and Turk, former member of the Cash Money Records group The Hot Boys.

“It’s cool Big Boy don’t want to mention Bone Thugs N Harmony, but they mentioning us in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” said Bizzy Bone. “The higher up you go up the ladder is when you start hearing Bone Thugs N Harmony name,” he continued.

Bizzy Bone’s commentary came courtesy of a video posted via social media. His opinion is justified as it is based around people crediting the way the Migos flow with their rhymes and excluding the fact that the flow is similar to a pattern used by Bone Thugs N Harmony decades earlier.

Turk just simply stated,

“I don’t want y’all to take this wrong. I f*ck with Offset. Me and that n***a done got up plenty of time. But for a n***a to say they the best group ever. Not the best group right now that’s doing they thing, but the best group ever? Man that’s some real disrespectful a**, foul a** sh** right there.,” he continued.

Migos are on fire right now and their latest album “Culture II” is expected to debut #1 on Billboards 200 Albums chart this week. Music is a young man’s game, but respect also must be shown to those who paved the way for your present success.

How do you feel about the Migos latest comments?

Troy Ave To Testify Against Taxstone; Casanova Is Not Happy

(AllHipHop News) Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave raised some eyebrows with the release of the video for his song “2 Legit 2 Quit.”

On the explosive 2: 54-minute track, Troy Ave directly addresses a deadly encounter inside of Irving Plaza in May of 2016.

Troy was involved in a confrontation with podcaster Taxstone, which led to a shootout in the middle of the concert venue.

When the gunsmoke cleared, Troy’s bodyguard Ronald “Banga” McPhatter was dead, and three other people were seriously wounded, including Troy Ave.

Troy, born Roland Collins, maintained he took the gun from Taxstone and turned it on him, while steadily denying he would have gunned down his own bodyguard and friend.

Police eventually recovered evidence linking Taxstone to the gun that was used to murder McPhatter, resulting in Taxstone being indicted for the murder in July of 2017.

On “2 Legit 2 Quit,” Troy Ave asserts that he will be taking the stand against Tax and it’s underscored by the visuals accompanying the lyrics.

“I do murder without a sound/I do murders and don’t get found/I’m only loyal to my fam/middle finger from the stands/I was in and out of hell/When you see me out of jail/Ain’t no rules when you ruthless, nothing/Since this ni##as too fake/Leave em toothless.”

The lyric is accompanied by an animated laughing Troy Ave on the stand, while a man presumed to be Taxstone is led off in handcuffs.

The video did not sit well with Taxstone’s close affiliate, Casanova, who brought Tax to Irving Plaza as his guest.

Casanova, who is signed to Memphis Bleek’s record label Warehouse Music Group, continued to rep for Tax in a series of tweets after seeing “2 Legit 2 Quit.”

ATTENTION:IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ME PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE I DONT WONT NO TROUBLE LIKE IM REALLY DONE WITH THIS STREET S###.AND IF YOU FORCE MY HAND PLEASE DONT TELL ON ME KILL ME CAUSE I DONT WANNA GO TO JAIL BY A GANGSTER TAKING THE STAND😔

Take a look at Casanova’s Instagram messages to Troy Ave, and listen to “2 Legit 2 Quit.”

Oprah Winfrey Cuts Russell Simmons From Best Selling Book

(AllHipHop News) Oprah Winfrey no longer has an affinity for Russell Simmons due to the many sexual allegations against the Hip-Hop mogul.

Oprah has decided to remove Simmons from future editions of her spiritual book “The Wisdom of Sundays”. The book is a New York Times best seller and is heralded for its life-changing themes.

However, starting in February – ironically Black History Month – Oprah’s book will continue to be produced without Simmons’s previous contribution.

Oprah has not stated formally why her mogul friend was removed from the book, but The New York Times reported it was a joint decision between her and the book publisher.

A victim of abuse, Oprah is a strong supporter of the #MeToo Movement.

Simmons has not commented on the move.

DJ Khaled Helps Launch #RaceToSubmit College Education Challenge

(AllHipHop News) The California Student Aid Commission, Get Schooled, and DJ Khaled connected to launch the #RacetoSubmit Challenge. The initiative encourages students in California high schools to “get the knowledge to pay for college” by engaging with the Race To Submit online resource.

“As more California students aim to enroll in and graduate from college, it has become increasingly important for our students to have a place designed for them where they can explore financial aid resources available to them as California residents,” said Lupita Cortez Acalá, Executive Director of CSAC. “We are excited to partner with Get Schooled, nationally recognized for its student-centered resources, on this project.”

DJ Khaled, Get Schooled’s national spokesperson, is set to appear in a #RacetoSubmit official public service announcement which will debut February 8. Get Schooled will also award five $1,000 scholarships to students who complete a survey reflecting on their “Cash for College” experience.

“Get Schooled has a longstanding history of working with CSAC, California educators and students and we are excited to continue to create customized resources for students,” said Marie Groark, Executive Director of the Get Schooled Foundation. “We are excited to continue our partnership with CSAC as and support educators and students alike as they take advantage of the resources available to them to finance a college education.”

In 2016, Get Schooled and DJ Khaled set up the “Major Keys” campaign. The program has garnered more than one million page views since it began.

The success of Khaled’s keys led to Get Schooled and Viacom honoring the entertainment mogul with the “Khaled Key Day” last June. He also joined the award-winning non-profit organization, the media corporation, and radio personality Sway Calloway in recognizing over 400 high school students during Yearbook Day in New York City’s Times Square.

Black Greatness:Who Photoshopped French Montana & Fabolous Out Of Pic?

(AllHipHop Rumors) HILARIOUS!

When two versions of the same Grammy Weekend photo started to make its way around the internet, folks began to wonder was it Diddy that Photoshopped French Montana and Fabolous out of his “Black Greatness” photo.

I want to give Diddy the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe it wasn’t his team that Photoshopped the picture. Maybe he just saw it on the ‘net, liked it, and decided to repost it.

If it was his team that cropped out Fab and French, then they have some amazing Photoshop skills. LOL.

I mean no disrespect to Fab and French as we have mad love for them, but I mean you know, Jay-Z, Kendrick, and Nas made a better photo. Sorry, I’m not sorry.

If French didn’t post the original photo, we may not have known it even existed. LOL.

What are your thoughts about the Photoshop shenanigans?

Quavo Accused Of Attacking Celebrity Jeweler In NYC Club

(AllHipHop News) Quavo is facing accusations of being involved in an assault. A popular jeweler claims the Migos member and another man (not Offset nor Takeoff) attacked him in New York City’s 1 Oak club earlier this week.

TMZ reports:

The alleged victim, Eric the Jeweler, reported the incident to NYPD on Tuesday … according to law enforcement sources. We’re told Eric and Migos were in the club early Monday morning — around 4:30 AM — when smack talk over money Quavo allegedly owes Eric … turned physical.

Eric the Jeweler also alleged his $30,000 chain went missing during the incident. He supposedly filed a robbery report with the police.

Migos were in NYC for the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, because the Atlanta-based group was up for Best Rap Performance (“Bad And Boujee”) and Best Rap Album (Culture). They lost to Kendrick Lamar in both categories.

Kendrick Lamar, SZA & Bruno Mars’ Streaming Numbers Rise After Grammys

(AllHipHop News) Some people question if artists attending award shows like the Grammys is still valuable in 2018. A new report from Billboard suggests performers can see a significant streaming boost after appearing on the program.

The next day on-demand audio streams for Kendrick Lamar’s “DNA” increased 21% following the TDE emcee opening the ceremony. SZA’s “Broken Clocks” jumped 55%, and Bruno Mars’ “Finesse” experienced a 20% rise.

While the CBS broadcast of the 60th annual Grammy Awards saw a 24% slip in viewership from the previous year, the show spawned several trending topics on Twitter. Additionally, Grammy clips posted to social media and YouTube have collected millions of views since Sunday.

Kendrick Lamar left Madison Square Garden with five Grammys, and Bruno Mars swept all six of his nominations. However, SZA was shut out in each of the five categories she was recognized in, including Best New Artist.

Rapsody Discusses The Albums That Inspired ‘Laila’s Wisdom’

(AllHipHop News) Rapsody may not have won a Grammy on Sunday, but the fact that the North Carolina-raised emcee earned two nominations was a big accomplishment for her as an individual and for women in Hip Hop. She was only the fifth female rapper to earn a nod for the Recording Academy’s Best Rap Album award.

Laila’s Wisdom received widespread acclaim from critics and fellow emcees. Busta Rhymes even called Rapsody’s sophomore LP the best rap album he had heard in the past ten years.

Late last month, Rapsody spoke with Ambrosia For Heads about her Jamla Records/Roc Nation release. She discussed the other artists’ work that served as inspiration.

“I pulled from Mama’s Gun from Erykah Badu – ‘Time’s a Wastin’ and ‘A.D. 2000.’ We pulled from [Kendrick Lamar’s] To Pimp A Butterfly. We pulled from [Jay-Z’s] The Black Album. We pulled from [Lauryn Hill’s] The Miseducation,” said Rapsody. 9th [Wonder] through in some A Tribe Called Quest. That was the playlist, just random songs from those albums.”

Badu’s Neo-Soul classic had the biggest impact. The former NC State student went on to explain the artistic connection between Laila’s Wisdom and Mama’s Gun.

“If I had to pick one album that’s my favorite of all time, that’s one of them. I just wanted something that’s really soulful. I listen to that album so much at night riding, and it goes through so many different emotions for me,” explained Rapsody. “That’s just kind of how we wanted to mirror it, soulfully, with the instrumentation. Even the title of the project, Mama’s Gun, inspired it. It’s short and sweet, but it says a lot.”

Uncle Murda Collaborator DOT Releases His “Who The Greatest Is” Video

https://youtu.be/lk2p-BFRy4E

Now that 2018 is in full swing DOT. returns with a banger for the new year. The New York MC closed out 2017 with back to back releases that saw him build an organic following that continues to grow. His previous music videos, “Bound 2 See” and “You Need It, I Got It” featuring Uncle Murda are both yielding fantastic results online, thus continuing the momentum for the release of his self-produced debut project “Start The Hate,” slated for release some time this year. 2018 looks to be a breakout year for the newcomer, as he is set to open up for Kendrick Lamar during the European leg of his tour and has a rumored Dipset collaboration in the works. Doubling down on his success from the tail end of last year, today DOT. officially releases the music video for “Who The Greatest Is.”

For the visual, he takes his talents to the local barbershop, where the G.O.A.T. debate often takes place, humbly paying homage to the greats who have inspired him such as 2pac, Notorious B.I.G., Kobe Bryant, Muhammad Ali and those of that ilk. Heeding the words of his mentor, Hip Hop icon Chuck D, who shared the importance of quality over quantity, DOT. bypasses the trendy gimmicks new age artists utilize for stardom, instead focusing on sharp lyricism and hard-hitting beats, the backbone of Hip Hop. DOT. then shifts gears into the gym, showcasing his discipline and commitment to excellence, the MC takes a tactical approach to his artistry, treating his peers not as friends but competition and on Who The Greatest Is, he eloquently makes his case as one of the best of Hip Hop’s new era.
