And another one! Poppy Khan dropped one of his latest tracks called “10×10”, featuring guest appearances from Suga B, Dankyduksta, & M.I.C. Book.
The upbeat backdrop let all rappers flex their rhyming skills and pass the mic back and forth effortlessly. It also allows Suga B to unleash a load of soul on the chorus. The track is melodic and catchy, and Poppy Khan shows no sign of deviating from his mission. The man is determined to make his mark. This soulful yearning track is the perfect soundtrack to the coming summer nights. Poppy Khan’s music is playlist worthy.
You can definitely expect more from Poppy Khan. He is on his “Go Realla Grind” in the recording studio working on his first solo album. It’s still in the early stages, but it’s never too early to start looking forward to good music. The untitled album is due to be released sometime late fall. While you’re at it, be sure to visit www.heavygame.biz to discover new music!
(AllHipHop Editorial) Twenty-five years ago, Los Angeles exploded in rebellion after a jury exonerated the Los Angeles cops who were caught on video viciously beating Rodney King. This verdict was the system saying that it didn’t matter even though the world had watched their pigs brutalizing a Black man on TV. They let these pigs walk anyway. And that Black people deserved nothing and would get nothing but a pig’s boot on their necks, a prison cell to be caged in, or an early grave to be thrown into.
But the masses of people in LA said Hell, No, not this time. Black people rose in rebellion, and people of all nationalities joined in. As Bob Avakian (BA) said right after the rebellion, “This rebellion was the most beautiful, the most heroic, and the most powerful action by the masses of people in the U.S. for years and years. It sent shock waves throughout the U.S. and around the world, striking fear and panic into the oppressors and causing the hearts of oppressed people everywhere to beat faster with joy and hope.”
The U.S. rulers were puffed up off of having rained death and destruction on Iraq in their 1991 war against that country, feeling that they had delivered a message to the world that they were the top dog and couldn’t be challenged. But the LA Rebellion showed the world there were people on the bottom of this society who were in no mood to join the celebration of U.S. world domination. By rising up in rebellion, the masses in LA declared to the world that they refused to accept the brutality and indignity this system enforced on them. And people in cities across the U.S. heard this call and took to the streets in solidarity—rebellions erupted in cities like Las Vegas, Oakland, and Seattle, and there were protests against police brutality in many other cities.
In the midst of rising up in outrage against the outrageous verdict in the Rodney King case, Black youth forged a truce that ended decades of fighting and killing among the street gangs of LA. On the first night of the rebellion, graffiti went up on the walls that said: “Bloods, Crips and Mexicans together tonight.” During and after the rebellion there were many scenes of members of rival gang members, people who had been sworn enemies, hanging out together and embracing each other.
The system had enforced conditions in the inner cities that left these youth facing futures of no hope. It had flooded their neighborhoods with drugs and unleashed its pigs to bust them under the War on Drugs, which was really a war on the people. These young people were left with no way to have meaning in their lives except to form street gangs whose codes of revenge had them fighting and killing other oppressed youth who were just like them.
As BA says in BA Speaks: REVOLUTION—NOTHING LESS!, forging this truce was hard. The youth had to reach over years of killings, and the calls for revenge these killings generated, to embrace each other. And they had to try very hard to maintain the truce in the face of attacks by the pigs who would attack them when they gathered to hold picnics to celebrate the truce.
The youth worked heroically to keep the truce in effect, but ultimately they didn’t succeed. On top of the attacks by the system, they were confronted with the reality that this capitalist-imperialist system has no future for millions of youth penned up in the ghettos and barrios across the U.S.
On this 25th anniversary, we should remember the heroic efforts of the youth of LA, and we need to learn three lessons: 1) that people rising in rebellion against injustice was, and is, righteous, necessary, and beautiful. This makes it possible for oppressed people to raise their heads, to begin to see further than the grind of their day-to-day existence and to begin to get organized for revolution, while also opening up space to transform the thinking of all society; 2) that breaking the youth out of the street life and overcoming all the divisions among the masses, not just for a brief period of time after which they slide back into it, can only be done as part of building a movement FOR revolution. This is more urgent than ever, and it’s something our Party has set itself to right now, especially in Chicago in the face of Donald Trump’s threats to send in the feds to “fix” the violence here; and 3) that we need more than just rebellions—we need a revolution, and to make that revolution, people have to be struggled with to transform themselves as they are mobilized to join the struggle to fight the powers. And that there is leadership for this revolution in BA, a leader who has developed the strategy to make such a revolution and brought forward a vision of the world that revolution could bring into being. The most pressing thing facing this new generation of youth caught up in the gang scene, and their revolutionary vanguard, is to actually get them OUT of that, and get into the revolution.
(AllHipHop Rumors) All people talked about at the Ruff Ryders reunion was how DMX acted. First of all, are they fans or not? No disrespect to X, but he’s been extremely consistent with his persona and and profession. He’s BEEN this way! Now the weekend, he may have been a bit more DMX than normal and thus come the rumors. Some people are “concerned” with DMX’s health and have stated that he may have been drinking heavily before the RR Reunion. You think? OK…but there is another level. He has apparently canceled some dates due to medical issues. X is an addict. Some have been suggested he is going back to his older ways – beyond Henny.
40Glocc and Wack100 Do The Math!
With all these numbers in their name, you would think they would just go and add them to find a way to make more. I don’t know. All these grown man dudes. Anyway – all the smack talk on social media has translated into more than that – A FIGHT! Yes! Apparently, 40 and 100 have agreed to fight with them THANGS! Leave the guns and home! Check out what they said back and forth on instaSNITCH.
People online are hoping the fight ends like this:
I ain’t gonna lie, bro. These dudes are living in another world! They rock out over on the West Coast! 40 Glocc is funny though!
What Happened To Carmen Bryan?
Carmen Bryan will go down in history for all the wrong reasons. You know the reasons, because it deals with Nas and Jay Z. BUT…she did a recent interview and all I could think was…what’s going on with her? Look at her look and how she used to look.
I guess “It’s No Secret: From Nas to Jay-Z, from Seduction to Scandal–a Hip-Hop Helen of Troy Tells All” did come out over 10 years ago….I can’t call it.
(AllHipHop News) Wale stopped by Ebro In The Morning this week to promote his new Shine album which is now available for purchase and streaming.
While at the Hot 97 radio show, the DMV emcee was asked about how J. Cole’s “False Prophets” helped him.
The second verse on that song is believed to be about Wale, and it led to him dropping the response track titled “Groundhog Day.”
“I think it helped other people more than it helped me, for real. Because everybody’s been like, ‘Oh, Wale’s been on his sh-t ever since.’ Nah, I been doing this,” responded the MMG signee to Ebro’s question about the Cole track.
He added, “It opened me and his relationship more. We’re closer than we’ve ever been at this point. He’s like one of my emergency numbers if something happens to me. [laughs] That’s a rea, real friend right there.”
(AllHipHop Rumors) Katy Perry is always trying to get an invite to the cookout, but her most recent collaboration may have worked against her!
Dang! Katy Perry was already getting slammed for her new single with Migos, before we even heard it!
Katy Perry’s new song, “Bon Appetit,” is out today, but the backlash has been going on since the singer released the cover art with the Atlanta rap trio.
Some of her fans are upset because most are holding on to the belief that Migos made some homophobic and misogynistic remarks.
Migos faced much backlash when rapper Makonnen came out as gay and Quavo said,
“This world is not right.”
Migos spoke out after the incident stating that they are not homophobic.
Katy Perry is also coming under fire since she recently accepted a National Equality Award at the Human Rights Campaign gala. Perry has also faced backlash for her songs “Ur So Gay” and “I Kissed A Girl” in the past.
It’ll probably just blow over for the bisexual singer. What are your thoughts?
YBS Skola persevered through the tragedy, and eventually released his debut mixtape “No Pen Just Paper” shortly afterwards to critical acclaim, so the signing is a big win for the Baltimore’s rap community.
The former couple, who got married in 2010, have three children together; sons King, 12, and Major, eight, and daughter Heiress, who was born in March last year. They documented family life on reality TV show “T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle,” which will end after its current sixth season.
Tiny recently spoke out about their relationship on Essence’s Yes, Girl! podcast, explaining the attention her husband receives is difficult to handle.
“It’s crazy because they don’t really care,” she tells “Women today, they don’t really care that it’s just for a night. So how can a man… they keep throwing it and keep throwing it. Like, how are they supposed to stay normal and just faithful when this is going on all day, all night? It’s a lot.”
T.I. also told New York radio station Power 105 their marriage was a “distraction” from his ambitions, saying, “It seems to me that marriage and what marriage means and what marriage does – it’s just one of those things that’s going to distract and deter me. I just have a purpose and I don’t always have the time to do the thoughtful, considerate things that a husband should do.”
Tiny has a daughter from a previous relationship while T.I. is father to three other children.

(AllHipHop News) The blowback from the implosion of the Fyre Festival in The Bahamian island continues, but Ja Rule is making an impassioned plea.
In a statement on Twitter, he stated, “this is NOT MY FAULT,” as he outlined concern for the attendees. The festival was touted as “the cultural experience of the decade,” but Twitter chatter described it as closer to “The Lord of the Flies.”
Ja Rule was the face of the festival in a number of ways and was seen in promo materials as well.
The business man-slash-hit maker said that he was not at fault, but he was taking responsibly for the failure of Fyre Festival. He also expressed concern for those largely affluent and wealthy festival goers that were “stranded” on one of the remote islands.
Here is Ja Rule’s full statement.
https://twitter.com/i/moments/858027543617785856
Ja Rule and the Fyre Festival team have issued a statement taking ownership of what has happened.
Fyre Festival set out to provide a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience on the Islands of the Exumas.
Due to circumstances out of our control, the physical infrastructure was not in place on time and we are unable to fulfill on that vision safely and enjoyably for our guests. At this time, we are working tirelessly to get flights scheduled and get everyone off of Great Exuma and home safely as quickly as we can. We ask that guests currently on-island do not make their own arrangements to get to the airport as we are coordinating those plans. We are working to place everyone on complimentary charters back to Miami today; this process has commenced and the safety and comfort of our guests is our top priority.
The festival is being postponed until we can further assess if and when we are able to create the high- quality experience we envisioned.
We ask for everyone’s patience and cooperation during this difficult time as we work as quickly and safely as we can to remedy this unforeseeable situation. We will continue to provide regular updates via email to our guests and via our official social media channels as they become available.
-The Fyre Festival Team
Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism in the Bahamas has issued an apology as well due to the onslaught of international press Fyre Fest has created.
Right now, the festival has been postponed for the indefinite future.
Here are some of the social media responses.

(AllHipHop News) Demi Lovato, the Backstreet Boys, and Jason Derulo have signed on to perform with aspiring artists as part of a new competition show hosted by rapper/actor Ludacris.
Every episode of Best.Cover.Ever. will feature a different superstar who will challenge wannabe singers to belt out renditions of one of their hits in a bid to land the opportunity to sing with the musicians themselves.
The show, co-produced by U.S. media personality Ryan Seacrest, will premiere on YouTube.com later this year.
Talented fans eager to show off their vocals for the first round of special guests have until May 19 to submit their entries via the video-sharing website.
Demi will be looking for the best cover of her hit “Confident,” while the Backstreet Boys have selected “As Long As You Love Me” as their entry song, and Derulo has chosen “Trumpets.”
The “Fate of the Furious” star will honour his mother, Roberta Shields, who also runs his Ludacris Foundation, as part of “Dear Mama: An Event to Honor Moms.”
Ludacris joins previously announced stars DJ Khaled, Robin Thicke, and Kelly Rowland, plus hosts La La Anthony and Anthony Anderson, for the Mother’s Day celebration, which will air on May 8.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Should rappers like Lil Yachty make better music?
Lil Yachty has faced a lot of criticism as folks believe he puts out low quality music.
Joe Budden even went as far as giving him credit for being one of the forces in the current rap game who is responsible for ruining Hip Hop. Budden also expressed that he feels like Lil Yachty and his music shouldn’t even be embraced since he’s allegedly ruining the culture.
Yachty’s father, Shannon McCollum, certainly didn’t appreciate the things Budden had to say about his son.
McCollum has expressed in the past that Yachty makes music for the teens and not the old heads, so I figured it would be easier for him to go at Joe than to accept the truth.
McCollum took to Instagram [in a since deleted post] to tear Joe Budden apart!
“Only reason I’m posting this so I can publicly say F-CK #joebudden N-gga u have no relevance in Hip Hop!! And on my life I bet when his album drop his numbers will be better than any project you have released. He’s done more in 1 yr than you’ve done your whole back a-s career. FOH n-ggas love trying they best to pull somebody down instead of lifting somebody up! Get that free press bruh off the back of my young’n but u still a cornball! #oldwackrapperissues, said McCollum.
I don’t think people, Joe included, don’t want to see artists succeed; I believe the problem is with the artists and the people around them not challenging them to make quality music. Then the other problem is the folks who accept and support “garbage” music. Carry on!
(AllHipHop Features) “Big up the Gods, we don’t disrespect them,” flows Stro on “Big Ups,” the opening track of his new LP Grade A Frequencies.
The song includes the 20-year-old lyricist showing love to the gods of rap – like The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur – by carrying on the creative legacy of those legendary emcees through his own art.
In the second part of my interview with Stro, the Brooklyn-raised rapper/actor explains why it’s important for him to acknowledge the Hip Hop giants whose shoulders he stands on.
Our conversation also covered his opinion on the internet-influenced way of life and its effects on modern-day rap. As a devoted student of Hip Hop and also a member of the Millennial generation, Stro offers a unique perspective about the culture he loves.
AllHipHop: You pay a lot of homage to Hip Hop legends throughout the project. Why is it important for you to make sure you always show love to the people that came before you?
Stro: I understand the power of being young. That’s all we are as artists now. We’re passing down that frequency and that energy. That’s why on the intro, “Big Ups,” I didn’t get too preachy and say, “You gotta respect the OGs.” I just simplified it and was like, “Big up the gods. We don’t disrespect them.” I made it like a little turn-up record.
These kids today, I don’t know what it is, but they want to be so rebellious that sometimes they disrespect the foundation. That scares me because I grew up on Hip Hop. I grew up being a student of and being surrounded by this culture.
I’m saying the same thing that Pac was saying. I’m saying the same thing that Biggie was saying. I’m saying the same thing all my heroes were saying, but these kids will listen to it from me because I’m closer to their age group. So I drop their names in raps just to remind kids.
There are certain kids out there that may never have heard a Pac or B.I.G. record. That’s fine as long as they’ve heard a Kendrick Lamar, a J. Cole, a Stro, or a Joey [Bada$$] record. We’re preaching the same message from our perspectives. It’s literally the same frequency being passed down. So I think it’s important to keep these names in the minds of the youth.
AllHipHop: I saw you tweeted that a lot of the music out today is kind of dumbing people down. This is a conversation we’ve been having in Hip Hop for a long time. Do you ever see the culture going in a different direction? Not necessarily just Hip Hop, but music in general.
Stro: I don’t know with the internet. You heard of this rapper 52 Savage? This dude is an older black guy from Texas. But he’s actually rapping. He’s joking, obviously. But the internet is promoting him to the point where he’s about to get a deal. I can see it. There already on, “We gotta put 52 on the Freshman list.”
When you live an in an era like this where the internet… I don’t know where the culture’s going to be. Now we’re taking jokes and making careers out of them. Peace to everybody. I ain’t dissing nobody. I’m just saying this era is very weird in that sense. I would like to say, “Nah, the mumble rap ain’t going to go on forever.” But you just don’t know with the way this generation is.
That’s one of the reasons I made Grade A Frequencies the way I made it. I wanted to put the substance back in music. I’m aware I might lose a few fans with this project because it’s different from my previous work, but I plan to gain a whole lot more. The jokes are cool, the turning up is cool, we in the club, everybody’s doing drugs, but let’s get back to the substance of the music.
AllHipHop: Do you have any more acting gigs on the horizon?
Stro: I’ve been auditioning for a few joints. But I’m really on my music stuff. I feel like the energy you put into stuff is what you get out. One thing about acting is it’s great, but sometimes you got to leave for two to three months to shoot a movie. That’s putting the music on hold.
Right now, I’m really trying to get in touch with the people and my true supporters, so I feel like I got to stay here. Musically, I’m in a creative space. Things are aligning. Things are connecting. So I’m just focused on the music like crazy. I’m sure I’ll act again, but it has to be something I really want to do. It’s got to be a role where I feel like I really got to be part of this.
AllHipHop: You’re just twenty years old, but you’re pretty much an industry veteran at this point.
Stro: I’m a struggle rapper. [laughs] That’s a better term.
AllHipHop: Nah, when I hear “struggle rapper” that makes me think of struggling as far as lyrics. That’s definitely not you. I’m not accepting that one. [laughs]
Stro: [laughs] Appreciate that.
AllHipHop: From your experience of being in the industry, what piece of advice would you give to someone that’s an aspiring entertainer?
Stro: I’m still climbing up myself, so I don’t got no crazy, elaborate advice. I would just say take yourself serious. That’s what I’m on right now as an artist. I finally understand you got to take yourself serious. People are only going to take you as seriously as you take yourself.
That’s why I’m not so quick to give out a feature because a dude might ask for a feature. You mess with him personally, so you give him the feature for free or for the low. You put your all into that verse and put the song out, then after that, he’s not even rapping. He’s on Instagram fooling around or using the Snapchat filter with his tongue out. He’s not taking himself seriously.
That can throw people off because you never know who’s watching. You even mentioning a tweet, I didn’t even know you were watching the sh-t like that. The old me would have been on Instagram playing around – “Yo, I’m on the block. I’m outside. Look at me. Look at what I’m doing.”
As an artist, I just gotta be an artist. I can have fun and enjoy life, but at the same time, I got to understand it’s a brand I got to promote. I got to keep people in tune with the music. That would be my advice. Not just artists, anybody, whatever you’re doing in life, take it seriously.
(AllHipHop News) Treach of Naughty By Nature took to Instagram to air out his issues with his ex-wife Pepa.
According to Treach, the Salt-N-Pepa member has a tell-all book that includes information he believes is untrue.
The “O.P.P.” rapper also blasted Pepa for the way his children, including daughter Egypt Criss, were presented on the reality show Growing Up Hip Hop.
Treach wrote on IG:

In a separate comment, captured by Fameolousent, Treach claimed Pepa tried to turn his kids against him and that she is “still f-cking industry n-ggas younger than your children.”

(AllHipHop News) Ja Rule’s highly touted luxury festival has gotten a bevy of bad press for being a disaster after several high profile acts pulled out and attendees have taken to twitter to express their views.
The Fyre Fest bragged about being “the cultural experience of the decade” and even touted high-end music acts like “Pusha T, Tyga, Desiigner, Major Lazer, Disclosure, Blink-182, Migos, and Lil Yachty. Additionally, there was a fashion component that offered up Kendall Jenner, Alessandra Ambrosio, Hailey Baldwin and others. Packages to attend the festival went as high as $250,000.
Even though the festival was this weekend, it has all seemingly fallen apart on the islands of Exumas in the Bahamas.

(AllHipHop News) Joe Budden may really be getting under Troy Ave’s skin.
The two East Coast rappers have been exchanging jabs at each other over the last few weeks.
Troy even dissed Budden on his song “Truth Be Told PSA” off his recent NuPac project, and he went on to suggest Budden is leeching off DJ Akademiks for their Everyday Struggle show.
At the end of Thursday’s episode of the Complex News series, Budden fired back at “Boy Ave” by claiming NuPac only sold around 830 copies.
“Rest in peace Troy Ave’s career,” said Budden.
That led to Troy jumping on Instagram with a message directed at the Slaughterhouse member.
The Brooklyn native wrote:

Songs off Lamar’s DAMN album control the top nine spots.
That makes the Compton emcee the first act to have nine concurrent songs in the Top 10.
Previously, Drake and J. Cole were tied for the record with eight tracks.
Drake accomplished that feat in 2016 and earlier this year.
J. Cole managed to occupy eight songs on that chart in 2016.
In addition, Lamar is the only act to have the top 9 records on the On-Demand Streaming Songs chart at the same time.
The TDE representative is just the sixth act to hold the #1 and #2 positions on the charts simultaneously (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Miley Cyrus, Iggy Azalea, Meghan Trainor, and Justin Bieber).
