C-Murder Hunger Strike Gets Rapper A Transfer From Angola Prison

(AllHipHop News) C-Murder’s hunger strike has proven to be advantageous, now that the rapper has been transferred out of Angola Prison.

In January, C-Murder started a three-week hunger strike over the circumstances he and other inmates were being imprisoned under.

C-Murder’s publicist Tammy “Ty” Page verified the rapper was transferred to Elayn Hunt Correctional Facility in Louisiana last week.

The conditions at Elayn Hunt are reportedly much different than the facilities at Angola, where C-Murder was one of over 6,000 prisoners serving hard time for violent crimes.

C-Murder was sent to Angola in 2011, after a decade-long legal battle to prove his innocence of the murder of a 16-year-old named Steven Thomas in 2002.

The rapper was originally convicted of the crime in 2003, but the verdict was overturned in 2006 when it was revealed prosecutors expunged the criminal records of their witnesses to bolster their credibility on the stand.

C-Murder, born Corey Miller, was released from prison during the appeal process.

But he was eventually sent back with an automatic life sentence, after being convicted during a controversial 2009 retrial.

In that trial, jurors became deadlocked after deliberating for almost two days, until a judge commanded them to reach a verdict which unfortunately was a guilty one.

But just days after the 2009 trial, a juror named Mary Jacobs came forward and revealed the changed her “not guilty” vote to “guilty.”

Jacobs claimed she did this to protect another juror who was being berated by other members of the jury, for believing the prosecution had not proven their case.

A rep for the rapper told AllHipHop.com C-Murder was feeling good about the transfer as he appeals his latest conviction.

“C appears to be in good spirit and looking to what’s upcoming in the future,” a rep for the rapper told AllHipHop.com.

As for C-Murder’s present-day situation, he will be reunited with fellow New Orleans rapper McKinley “Mac” Phillips.

Ironically, Mac also claims he was wrongfully convicted of shooting and killing a man inside a nightclub in Slidell, Louisiana in 2000.

Like C-Murder’s case, there was no physical evidence against Mac, multiple “witnesses” who claimed they were pressured by prosecutors for testimony to convict the rapper, and a confession from Mac’s bodyguard claimed he fired the fatal shot.

Nick Cannon, Conceited, Charlie Clips & Hitman Holla Remake “F*ck Tha Police”

(AllHipHop News) Four Wild N’ Out castmates came together to present a modern-day take on N.W.A’s 1988 anthem “F-ck Tha Police.” Nick Cannon, the show’s creator, teamed up with battle rap veterans Conceited, Charlie Clips, and Hitman Holla for the record.

Their “F-ck Tha Police Remix” music video arrives at the same time protests have broken out in Sacramento over the fatal shooting of Stephon Clark. An autopsy showed the 22-year-old father of two was shot eight times by police, including six times in the back, in his grandmother’s backyard.

Additionally, footage of the final moments of Louisiana resident Alton Sterling’s life was released last week nearly two years after he was killed by two Baton Rouge police officers. The cops were not charged with any crimes, but Officer Blane Salamoni was fired for violating use-of-force policies.

This was not the first time Cannon spoke out about unarmed African-Americans being killed by police officers. In 2016, the San Diego native released a spoken word piece that addressed police brutality as well as poverty, the healthcare system, and the prison industrial system.

Fabolous Thanks Fans For Their “Love & Support” After Assault Accusations

(AllHipHop News) The last week was filled with reports about Fabolous allegedly attacking his girlfriend Emily Bustamante. Negative reactions to the Brooklyn rapper took over social media when TMZ released a video of Fab apparently threatening Emily B and her father.

According to Revolt, Fabolous and his Friday on EWillm Street partner Jadakiss performed this weekend, and the show featured Fab being grateful to his fans. He stated, “I made sure I had to be here tonight for y’all. I love y’all New York City. Thank y’all for the love and support.”

Fabolous is being accused of damaging some of Emily’s teeth following an argument about her being in Los Angeles without telling him. Her father and brother reportedly removed two guns from Fab’s home before he returned from LA.

The 40-year-old entertainer turned himself into police. He was then charged with third-degree aggravated assault and third-degree terroristic threats.

Joyner Lucas Addresses Texting, Speeding & Drunk Driving With “Frozen” Video

(AllHipHop News) Joyner Lucas has made a name for himself by using his cinematic visuals to confront social issues. Following his take on bigotry with the super-viral “I’m Not Racist,” the Atlantic Records artist turned his attention to dangerous behavior behind the wheel.

“Frozen” tells the story of a family losing their lives as a result of drunk driving, texting while driving, and speeding. Joyner Lucas and Ben Proulx directed the music video.

(AllHipHop News) On Sunday, things got kind of wild for Blac Chyna during a trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Video of an angry Chyna trying to hit someone with her child’s stroller hit the internet.

The reality show star/video model was at the amusement park with her 18-year-old boyfriend YBN Almighty Jay. After the altercation made its way around social media, she posted a message on her Instagram page.

“Being famous is hard enough dealing with scrutiny but when someone touch your child it’s a whole other story,” wrote Chyna. “I do not condone violence nor am I a violent person but shout out to all of the amazing mothers out there that will protect their child at all cost.”

French Montana Is A Free Man Again!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Today is Easter and a Sunday so, YES it is a slow day. So, YES, we are about to talk about the foibles of French Montana. I cannot tell a lie: I don’t care! BUT, I guess it is worth noting that the homie French is back on the market after an apparent breakup from OG Hottie Evelyn Lozada. Check out what she posted:

CARDI B CHATTER!

Check out what was sent to me from a message board! These people are not playing with the Cardi B leaks!

Since it’s publicly known that Cardi has filmed her music videos back to back on this album, I thought I’d share a little droplet I have on the album. Before fame, Cardi took her music more serious than she does now. Atlantic doesn’t like the way she structured her songs previously and felt they didn’t sound like hits. Her previous mixtapes were all ignored because they were average. Whenever Offset isn’t around to lead the way, she gives random or troll tracks like the song Cheap Ass Weave. Since, Cardi lacks the ability to grow as an artist due to not caring or making troll songs, Atlantic has pulled in the big guns. They’re forcing female rappers to give her the soon to be hit records that they were going to place on their projects. Atlantic wants her to be the generation’s Lauryn Hill, which is why despite being angry she’s pregnant, they’ve accepted it. Snow Tha Product’s projects have been postponed and put on the shelf and they’ve taken records from her to give to Cardi. One of her team members M, I’ll call her M but you can research her name if you’d like, M is leaving the label since she knows that the label is now a s### show and it’s a sinking ship. Female rappers all over social media are being scouted to help Cardi. Yes, Offset still has major pull and is in control of her music and life, but he doesn’t mind that tracks are given to her so that he can focus on other things like cheating and doing drugs.

LIL KIM AND FABOLOUS – A GOOD LOOK OR A BAD LOOK?

Fabolous stands accused of hitting his ex Emily B. While the footage of him is pretty damning, it is not a guilty verdict. As I have previously reported, Jadakiss and Fab performed over the weekend in New York City. What I may not have mentioned was that Lil Kim also rocked with Fab. I knew it, but it didn’t seem material to what I had previously stated. Until now. I guess there is a few vantage point of Kim and Fab rocking over the weekend. It seems people are looking Kimmie like a l#### for performing with an accused domestic abuser. Remember, Kim had a really bad, bad experience with Biggie and domestic violence.

Roxanne Shante’s Overaged Baby Daddy Revealed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNiN78CMSTM

(AllHipHop Rumors) We didn’t know if he was real or whatever, but Cross didn’t look good in the movie “Roxanne Roxanne.” He was dating the rap star when she was only 15 –years old, while he was considerably OLDER. Some have said he was as much as 18 years her senior. I suppose people didn’t do anything back in those days when a grown as men dates and sexes a child.

Anyway, Shante and Cross were a hot item in the streets, as it is portrayed in the Netflix movie saga. And now, images of their love affair have emerged. Check it out:

I know it is hard for some of you to conceptualize this, but Roxanne was one of the biggest rappers in the world in the 1980’s. She definitely put it down for the hood way before most of these rap chicks. I won’t spoil it for you, but she put it down.

Here is the song they said she did in one take.

DJ Akademiks Fails At April Fools Joke, But Ads To 6ix 9ine Rumors

(AllHipHop Rumors) You know…the game is getting weirder and weirder. Back In my day…LOL…being weird was cool. It just meant you were different from the pack. It didn’t mean you were some kind of nut. Now, certainly it did for some people. But, generally they have been accepted. They still are.

But a recent April Fools joke fell completely flat. Here is what DJ Akademiks posted.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BhCVy44nDZl/

“I’m announcing that I’m leaving Everyday Struggle to pursue my true Passion of being a Mumble Rapper. I recently signed a $6.2 million deal with Atlantic Records. After having sleepless nights and crying my eyes out since Joe Budden left Everyday Struggle, I have to leave as well to follow my True Calling in life. Also copped a few tatts to make my decision final. Follow the Klues for my next move. Refer to me as Lil AK from now on.”

Was anybody fooled by this? I wasn’t for a single second in time, but I think some people got caught out there.

What is more jarring is he and Tekashi 69 in a bathroom together, which is one…”weird” sight to see. I am not sure I can think of a situation were a pair of men are posted up in a bathroom with their knees touching. IJS!!!!!! Damn. People are fooled by this.

Is Fabolous Finished Or Is It Just Business As Usual?

Is Fabolous Finished Or Is It Just Business As Usual?

(AllHipHop Rumors) I know that Fab has about 20 years in this rap game. He’s done some pretty amazing things as a rapper and an entertainer. It is hard to conceptualize how all of that work, talent and perseverance could be destroyed in a moment. Well, it can. As you know, Fab stands accused of domestic violence that includes allegedly knocking out his girl’s teeth earlier in March. Just this weekend, video emerged of Fab wielding a knife and waving it at Emily B and her dad. His bodyguard restrained him, but Fab threatened him with a bullet.

The internet says one thing: Fab’s career is over. If you look all around you can see that people are allegedly over him because of the matter. Peep:

Get the picture?

In the streets, it is a bit of a different story. Fab and Jada did a show tonight and it was packed…chock full of support.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BhAyKySnql8/

https://www.instagram.com/p/BhAx792niTJ/

This is the last post that Fab has put on his IG. He has alluded to the drama quite a lot in his posts. The comments are crazy though and they are varied af!

The streets seems to suggest this is business as usual but there are reports that at least 500,000 people have deleted Fab from their devices. Wow.

Iggy Azalea Needed Mental Help After Twitter Beefs Exploded

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Iggy Azalea’s managers staged an intervention over her infamous Twitter feuds in a bid to help her get well mentally.

The “Trouble” hitmaker has engaged in social media beef with the likes of Azealia Banks, Nicki Minaj, Q-Tip, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Erykah Badu, and Macklemore in recent years, and after tiring of her online fall-outs, her representatives decided enough was enough.

Iggy’s managers sat her down and advised her to seek treatment at a therapeutic center in Arizona to deal with her emotional issues.

“I thought I was coming in to speak about something else,” the Aussie recalls to Billboard of the staged intervention. “Then they were like, ‘We think you need to go away to this place.’

“They were like, ‘We think you’re really talented and you can go to the studio and make hits all day, but we don’t know if, you know, someone says something about you and you have a reaction, it could ruin a branding deal,” Iggy continued. “We need you to go and speak to these people and make sure that you’re mentally prepared to come out with new music.’”

The star confesses, “I didn’t want to go there – I didn’t like the idea of being sent away somewhere. I was p##sed.”

However, the trip turned out to be extremely positive for Iggy, and the 27-year-old has no regrets about her time in the mental health retreat.

“I’ve never really sat down and had an honest conversation with professional people,” she shares. “It was good to say something to somebody who could give me the tools and information on how to make my life manageable when I’m feeling those things. So it was really useful – I’m glad that I went.”

Iggy is now celebrating another career milestone after her time in therapy – she’ll be releasing her sophomore album Surviving the Summer later this year, the long-awaited follow-up to her 2014 debut The New Classic.

Nas Has Something To Say About The Generational Divide

(AllHipHop News) Nas has something to say about the generational gap in Hip-Hop.

As Hip-Hop has changed and morphed, we have seen disrespectful comments and sentiments being thrown back and forth. The disrespect of Tupac has become commonplace and the condemnation of “mumble rap” is the norm.

Nas has released a new song with DJ Esco and Future to represent progress. Check out Nasir’s commentary.

Today’s game is as big as it gets. It seems like nobody gettin along tho. It’s a big enough game to do what you do and let ya talent speak for itself. This new cat over here says something bad about Pac. This older guy gets mad at the new guy. Or “Nas ain’t hip hop. Migos and Future are Hip Hop” Neil Diamond x Jack White have a Concert coming up together. Gettin it done.
White musicians have that freedom and are praised for coming together… more power to them and I’m a fan of it.
why can’t black artist do that and make it cool? We are all artists, let’s all evolve together. Walk With Me. WALK THRU.

Everybody didn’t agree with the Queensbridge legend, despite his positive outlook.

“That’s cool, future still trash despite the motivational speech,” One person said. Others queried when Nas’s album was dropping.

Donald Glover’s Bro Says “Deadpool” Episode About Taylor Swift Was “Last Straw”

(AllHipHop News) Rapper/actor Donald Glover and his brother Stephen Glover are revealing more details behind a creative rift that lead to their departure as executive producers of Marvel’s animated “Deadpool” series.

According to Marvel, a creative rift between Donald Glover and the company’s creative team sank the partnership, and this was due in part, to Taylor Swift.

The pair were hoping to court controversy with their take on “Deadpool,” but apparently their vision was too much for Marvel, especially after viewing an episode about Taylor Swift.

“There really was a Taylor Swift episode,” Stephon Glover wrote in a deleted, which was captured by TheWrap.

“It was HILARIOUS. And it definitely was the last straw lol,” said Stephone, who added: “We definitely wanted to give Rick and Morty a run for their money and I think we would have. Proud of the gang.”

Last week, Donald Glover also took to Twitter, to clear up rumors that he was too busy for the series.

Donald posted several pages from a “Deadpool” script after tweeting, “for the record: i wasnt too busy to work on deadpool.”

Cardi B’s Single “Be Careful” Hits #1 As Ghostwriting Claims Emerge

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Cardi B is celebrating the success of her new single “Be Careful.”

The singer hit up Twitter to share the iTunes single’s chart, where the song is currently nestled at the #1 position of all genres.

Cardi thanked her fans for helping her achieve the feat.

However, Cardi is swept up in a minor controversy over the origin of “Be Careful.”

Just as the single released, footage hit the net of supposedly showing producer Jordan Thorpe, the co-writer of the song, laying down guiding vocals for the singer.

While Cardi was busy gloating over the #1 success, influential DJ Funk Flex may have subtly commented on the controversy.

Meanwhile, Cardi is preparing to release her upcoming album Invasion of Privacy on April 6th.

Video Of Fabolous’ Fury At Girlfriend Hits The Net

(AllHipHop News) Fabulous’ image is taking a huge hit, now that footage of an altercation with his girlfriend is going viral.

Fab, born John Johnson, has been charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats after he supposedly punched Emily in the face seven times and knocked out her two front teeth.

TMZ.com published footage earlier today, capturing the altercation last Wednesday, which lead Emily to tell the police about the March 7th assault.

The video features Fabolous in a rage, as his bodyguard attempts to hold him back.

But the 40-year-old continued to fume as he held a shiny object and threatened to shoot Emily’s father, who labeled the rapper a “coward” for being out of control.

According to a police report, Fabolous flew into a rage when he found Emily was in Los Angeles, via an Instagram post.

The pair eventually had a confrontation at their home in Edgewood, New Jersey, where the rapper severely beat her and knocking out her teeth.

Emily’s father and brother reportedly removed two handguns from the house, which infuriated Fabolous even more.

Cardi B Gets Accused Of Stealing New Song “Be Careful”

(AllHipHop Rumors) Here we go again. Cardi B is accused of stealing a song 4 years old from an up-and-coming rapper. This isn’t a good look, especially since “Bodak Yellow” was borrowed heavily from a song from Kodak Black. So, for this to happen…yikes! On top of it, this is the lead single from her first album with comes out in about a week.

Look at the stats from the person that wrote it.

““Be careful” was not written by Cardi B nor is it her track. @lifeofthepardi was rapping the exact same lyrics over the exact same beat last year in a video on his instagram.. #CardiB #BeCareful #BodakYellow #AtlanticRecords #Frauds

And the crazy part is that Kelani jumped on the wave and commented. It was not pretty.

Travis Scott Claims Conspiracy Robbed Him Of His Lamborghini

(AllHipHop News) Travis Scott is suing a car dealership he claims conspired to rob him of his money.

The rapper claims he was coaxed into believing he could trust a man named Richard Martinez and his company VIP Services.

According to a lawsuit, Travis thought he would be getting the royal treatment with Martinez’ company VIP Services, since the business had brokered similar car deals for a number of celebrities, including the Kardashians.

Travis said he decided to plunk down a $70,000 deposit to close a deal for a 2015 Lamborghini Huracan, which is apparently owned by a man named Jorge Maldonado.

The rapper says he sent the money months ago, but he still hasn’t received his Lambo.

According to TMZ.com, Travis believes VIP Services and Maldonado have conspired to scam him out of his five-figure security deposit.

Travis Scott is suing to get the $70,000 back plus damages.

Fetty Wap Spreads Easter Spirit By Handing Out Gift Cards

(AllHipHop News) Fetty Wap handed out gift cards to shoppers in celebration of Easter at a supermarket in New Jersey.

The rapper returned to his hometown of Paterson earlier this week, where he teamed with bosses at the local Price Rite supermarket in Center City Mall for a giveaway.

Fetty, real name Willie Maxwell II, told reporters at the event that he hoped people would use the gift cards to purchase food for meals over the Easter weekend.

“I hope somebody gives me a couple invitations,” he said jokingly, according to Northjersey.com, and added that he was proud to be able to give back to his community. “Anything I can do to help especially with my hometown I’m going to always be there.”

While at the supermarket, the “Trap Queen” hitmaker also took time to pose with fans and chat with locals.

It isn’t the first time Fetty has given back to his hometown.

He has previously donated turkeys to families for Thanksgiving each year since 2015.

Docu-Series “Rapture” Is Brimming With Authenticity

By Lauren deLisa Coleman

(AllHipHop Features) If you’ve been waiting for the next, thought-provoking hip hop documentary, wait no more.

Mass Appeal and Netflix has released a new Hip-Hop docu-series called “Rapture,” and the premise is pretty intriguing. Throughout eight episodes, each of which features a recording artist in Hip-Hop — Nas and Dave East, T.I., Rapsody, Logic, G-Eazy, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, 2 Chainz and Just Blaze – Rapture provides an insight look these artists’ lives with their families and friends. But it’s more than just a mindless whirl of stage performances and studio sessions. Where this project wins is production cadence unique to each artists actual statement within this particular snapshot of time in their lives.

For example, the deliberate pacing of T.I.’s reflective episode is directly reflective of his psycho-social journey to make a difference in today’s socio-politically driven world that is tense, in large part, due to race relations in America today. From T.I.’s meeting with legends from Harry Belafonte to Andrew Young (though we would have loved to see inclusion the artist meeting with such Black female legendary activists as Angela Davis or others) we witness the unfolding of T.I.’s approach to using his cultural platform to drive awareness about sensitive issues in our society today.

However, the rich and very often-times humorous cadence of Nas’ navigation of status as Hip-Hop legend is fast-paced. This is a rare look at Nas’ interaction with other artists, thoughts on his impact over the years and much more. Nas’ brother “Jungle” is a true stand out here who told me, “I love how they used a lot animation to get my points across when I was telling certain stories about me and Nas back in the day.” The particular integration of Dave East, his backstory told by both him and his parents, and his journey into the Nas camp is, at times, very, profound yet definitely entertaining.

In short, “Rapture” is a well-produced package though we would have loved to see more women included in front of and behind the camera. Perhaps in the near future.

“Rapture” can be seen on Netflix exclusively.
