T.I. Says He Didn’t Have The Time To Be A “Thoughtful” Husband

(AllHipHop News) Rapper T.I. has silenced reconciliation rumors with his estranged wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle after declaring marriage a distraction.

The “Live Your Life” hitmaker and his spouse of six years separated in December, when she filed for divorce.

The former couple has spent ample time together since the break-up, prompting rumors the divorce was on hold, but the hip hop star has denied they’re looking to get back together.

“There is no beef, we good, we straight,” he explained during an interview with New York radio station Power 105. “Everybody else (is) the one that got the problem. We see each other. We speak, we talk. We spend time together. We good. She’s still one of the best friends I have in the world. I can just be a better best friend than a husband.”

T.I., real name Clifford Harris, admitted his focus on work made him forget about the romance at home, and in light of his split, he’s not sure he’ll ever wed again.

“Ultimately man, I’m on a mission,” the hip-hop heavyweight declared. “I’m striving to take my family, its name and our legacy as far and high as it can possibly go. And in my life there will be two different things. There will be people, places and things that help me get there. And there will be people, places and things that distract and deter me from getting there.

“It seems to me that marriage and what marriage means and what marriage does – it’s just one of those things that’s going to distract and deter me. I just have a purpose and I don’t always have the time to do the thoughtful, considerate things that a husband should do.”

T.I. and Tiny, who first began dating in 2001, share three biological children together and he is also stepfather to his estranged wife’s eldest daughter Zonnique Pullins from a prior romance.

The rapper is also dad to three other kids from previous relationships.

Kendrick Lamar Gets Praised By Minister Louis Farrakhan

(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar held a cordial meeting with controversial political and religious leader Louis Farrakhan,

The 29-year-old rapper was all smiles as he met the Nation of Islam chief, who he namechecked while guesting on a verse on Big Sean’s 2013 hit “Control.”

Farrakhan posted pictures of their meeting, writing beneath one image, “I was very honored to meet and talk with my powerful brother and Hip-Hop artist Kendrick Lamar. The Cultural Revolution is On.”

Under another he added, “The artistic community has historically been in the vanguard of social change.”

In a speech last year, the 83-year-old religious leader lavished praise on Kendrick for his politically charged performance at the Grammy Awards, which saw the hip-hop star perform his track “The Blacker The Berry” while dressed as part of a prison chain gang.

In the speech hailing black artists for taking on political issues, Farrakhan also singled out Beyonce for her Super Bowl performance referencing revolutionary nationalist and socialist organization the Black Panther Party.

The meeting with Farrakhan comes ahead of Kendrick releasing the long awaited follow-up to his acclaimed 2015 album To Pimp A Butterfly, DAMN on Friday April 14.

Tyga Avoids A DUI In His Brand New Custom Benz

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Tyga ran into some legal problems last night (April 11), in Hollywood.

According to reports Tyga was cuffed after he ran a stop sign in his brand new custom Mercedes-Benz G Series.

Although Tyga was initially cited for running the stop sign and having paper plates, police suspected him of driving under the influence, after leaving Avenue nightclub.

Tyga was handcuffed and taken to the station and luckily, passed all DUI tests.

According to TMZ.com, the police took Tyga to the station to conduct the sobriety test because of a growing crowd and the paparazzi swarming the rapper.

Jaden Smith Chops His Dreads With The Help Of His Dad Will Smith

(AllHipHop News) Will Smith helped his son Jaden to prepare for a new movie project by chopping off his signature dreadlocked hairstyle.

The “Suicide Squad” star shared photos of the dramatic big chop on his Facebook page on Tuesday (April 11) including one snap which shows Will excitedly holding up the lopped off bundle of blonde dreads he’d just cut.

“Getting Jaden Smith ready for the first day of filming #LifeInAYear,” a grinning Will captioned the picture. “Maybe I should’ve used scissors?!”

Jaden can be seen in the of the photos sporting a short blonde afro.

The 18-year-old actor, who has appeared in several films alongside his famous father including The Pursuit of Happyness and box office flop “After Earth,” has cut his hair in preparation for a role in a new romantic drama, “Life in a Year.”

In the movie, Jaden will play teenager Daryn, who discovers his girlfriend Isabelle, played by Cara Delevingne, only has a year to live, so he sets out to give her a year’s worth of their life experiences in the time she has left.

“Empire” star and Oscar nominee Terrence Howard will also star in the movie as Jaden’s no-nonsense on-screen father, with Mitja Okorn directing.

The film is expected to hit theaters in 2018.

Mysonne Further Discusses His Issues With Troy Ave’s ‘The Breakfast Club’ Interview (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Troy Ave has faced some criticism for his comments during a recent interview with The Breakfast Club.

Fellow New York rapper Mysonne is one of the people that took issue with Troy seemingly glorifying his legal problems and the violence he has encountered.

After addressing Troy in a video blog, Mysonne further explained his issues with the Brooklyn rapper during his own The Breakfast Club interview.

“My statements were that he was a bozo,” said Mysonne about Troy Ave. “I was so outraged just watching the interview because this man almost lost his life, this man is fighting for his life, this man is going to court facing real charges.”

He added about Troy’s gangsta tales, “It’s just not authentic. That’s not what I want you to tell my son. My son is watching. He might like some of your music. I like your music, so he might listen to your music and see you and be like, ‘That’s real.’ And if I don’t say it ain’t real, then I’m wrong. Because I know it’s not real.”

Mysonne also made it clear he does not have a personal problem with Troy Ave and is not looking to do him physical harm, but the Bronx native also does not want a friendship with the “Bang Bang” performer.

“I’ve been in a situation where I was around him when he said things that were totally dis-supporting to anything that I felt was real,” stated Mysonne. “So I said to myself, ‘This ain’t somebody I will call on. This is somebody I have to call out and say this ain’t real.'”

Troy was also blasted by Casanova when the “Don’t Run” rhymer uploaded a video making fun of the controversial The Breakfast Club interview.

Prior to the release of the Mysonne interview, Troy Ave posted a tweet directed at his critics.

“This is what all the fuss is about cause if I wasn’t successful they would have no interviews and no slander,” wrote Troy.

Biloxi PD Respond To Boosie Badazz Claiming The Police Stole His Jewelry

(AllHipHop News) Last night Boosie Badazz posted an Instagram message that included the claim Biloxi police stole a million dollars worth of jewelry.

The Biloxi Police Department is denying Boosie’s accusation, according to the AP.

Lt. Christopher De Back said police found no jewelry, and city spokesman Vincent Creel said the city was not aware of the Boosie’s claim until the video was posted.

Five members of the rapper’s entourage were arrested for allegedly assaulting a security guard and a Biloxi officer outside of a Dillard’s store.

Police do not believe Boosie was involved in the supposed attack.

After the incident, the creator of the upcoming BooPac album wrote on IG:

Singer Janelle Monae recently ruffled some feathers with her call for a sex strike in the fight for women’s rights. The singer told Marie Claire,

“People have to start respecting the v#####. Until every man is fighting for our rights, we should consider stopping having sex. I love men. But evil men? I will not tolerate that.”

After receiving some mean side eyes and some tweets, Janelle clarified her statement explaining that she gets frustrated when women’s rights are trampled on and disregarded. She did clarify that she doesn’t think that sex is a bargaining tool, but she does want to know how some of these people got born and raised. She went on to rant that choosing a [good] partner to co-parent is important because such values get passed down for generations from “hotep to hotep”.

Don Cheadle To Tell The Story Of Wall Street’s First Black Millionaire

(AllHipHop News) Don Cheadle is planning a biopic of the first African-American to make millions on Wall Street.

The “Ocean’s Twelve” star, 52, has bought the rights to Shane White’s book “Prince of Darkness: The Untold Story of Jeremiah G. Hamilton, Wall Street’s First Black Millionaire,” according to editors at The Hollywood Reporter.

White’s tome tells the story of Hamilton, a broker and land agent in New York City in the early 19th Century, who by the time of his death in 1875 had joined the ranks of America’s financial elite.

Cheadle will reportedly reteam with screenwriter Steven Baigelman on the project. Baigelman penned the actor turned filmmaker’s 2015 directorial debut, Miles Ahead, a biopic of jazz superstar Miles Davis, who Cheadle also portrayed in the film.

Although the star will reportedly produce and star, it is not yet known if he will take the reins as director.

Hamilton’s remarkable life was well reported at the time, but his story had faded into obscurity until White’s book.

The African-American financier’s wealth and ruthless business practices made him a controversial figure in pre-Civil War America, where slavery was still accepted in many states, as did his marriage to a white woman.

Despite his wealth Hamilton was a victim of the intense racism prevalent at the time, and narrowly escaped death when a lynch mob broke into his home during the riots that swept New York City in 1863 in response to men being drafted to fight in America’s Civil War.

His wife reportedly turned away the mob by telling them her husband was away and gifting them liquor and cigars.

Among his notable business ventures was his purchase of stocks in rail companies whose trains he wasn’t legally allowed to travel on, and a tussle with the famous industrialist Cornelius Vanderbilt over control of the Nicaragua Transit Company.

T.I. Has No Plans To Dress Up Like Tupac Again After Being Roasted

(AllHipHop News) Rapper T.I. has slammed critics of the Tupac Shakur-inspired outfit he wore to honor the late hip-hop icon at Friday’s (April 7) Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

The “Whatever You Like” hitmaker joined Alicia Keys, Snoop Dogg, YG, and Naughty by Nature’s Treach to pay tribute to 2Pac with a medley of his songs at the New York ceremony, with T.I. covering his 1993 track “Keep Ya Head Up.”

He wore a bandana, jeans, and a leather suspender vest over a white T-shirt for the performance, reminding fans of the same look Tupac sported on the cover of the New York Times Magazine back in January, 1996.

However, not everyone appreciated T.I.’s wardrobe choice, and many took to social media to lambast him.

The negative responses prompted the star to school the young critics about the reason for his get-up by sharing a side-by-side photo of his appearance from Friday night’s induction ceremony and one of Tupac’s New York Times shoot.

Shakur was killed following a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in September, 1996, aged 25.

Now, T.I. said he has no plans to ever dress up like Tupac again.

One Of The Migos Might Have Just Bagged Chris Brown’s Ex!

‘Juice’ Celebrates 25th Anniversary By Releasing First Blu-ray Edition With Special Features

(AllHipHop News) With his historic Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, Tupac Shakur’s legacy continues to be honored around the world.

Another monumental moment in the rapper’s career came when Pac starred in Juice, his first major role in a feature film.

The 1992 Hip Hop classic is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and fans can now purchase the movie in Blu-ray form for the first time.

New interviews with director Ernest R. Dickerson and producer David Heyman as well as actors Omar Epps, Khalil Kain, and Jermaine Hopkins are part of the Blu-ray package.

Viewers will also get to see Dickerson’s original ending and hear the filmmaker explain the reasons the movie was changed prior to its theatrical debut.

Other Blu-ray features include:

  • You’ve Got the Juice Now—A look back at the making of the film featuring brand new interviews with director Ernest R. A Massive Bronze Statue Of Tupac Shakur Is Going Up

(AllHipHop News) Tupac Shakur will be honored in the most memorable way, thanks to a new, huge bronze statue being erected.

A $500,000 bronze bust of the rapper is going up on the grounds that used to be the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

The original Tupac bust was vandalized in 2008.

Pac’s family took the bust when the center was sold in 2015,

According to TMZ.com, Jim Burnett, former owner of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center has raised a massive amount of capital needed to start work on a new bronze Tupac statue.

Burnett has commissioned artist Nijel Binns to make the new 7-foot statue of Tupac, which will be unveiled in September.

Tupac’s statue made headlines again earlier this year, when Atlanta rapper T.I. blasted an updated bust.

There was even talks of a “Change Pac Statue” benefit concert.

Scottie Pippen Finds A Friend In Hip-Hop And Future, A FOE!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Mysonne has already expressed his issues with Future stemming from Future rapping so hard about the drug culture and subsequently “poisoning” the minds of children. Now Mysonne has expressed that he actually would’ve beat down Future for another reason.

Mysonne sat down with DJ Vlad and revealed that he feels that Future doesn’t do real n-gga sh-t especially with all of the stuff that Future was doing to troll Scottie Pippen.

“That’s another thing that Future did that threw me. The sh-t you doing with Scottie Pippen. If I was Scottie Pippen, I would beat that man up. No question. Listen to me, I would buy a ticket to the show and put my hands on him. Immediately because you are intentionally…. This is my family, this is my wife, and you intententionally doing sh-t to public defame my kid’s mother,” said Mysonne

Mysonne says the minute that Scottie and Larsa Pippen announced publicly that they were moving forward with their relationship, Future shouldn’t have been trolling Scottie by putting emojis under Larsa’s Instagram photos, and making songs saying that a guy would never get their b-tch back.

Mysonne said he would have to leave ol’ girl [Larsa] because he would never forget about it and the tabloids and the world wouldn’t let him forget about it, and he would still put his hands on Future if he was Scottie when he ran into him. Mysonne feels like Future tried to embarrass this man and his family in front of the world, and despite the fact that Scottie’s one of the best players, the kids know him mostly from being a Future-related meme.

The movie tells the story of a group of Chicago women that refused to have sex with any man until the violence in the city ended.

In an interview with Marie Claire, R&B/Soul singer Janelle Monáe suggested women in real life should consider the same tactic in order to secure gender equality.

Monáe stated:

People have to start respecting the v#####. Until every man is fighting for our rights, we should consider stopping having sex. I love men. But evil men? I will not tolerate that. You don’t deserve to be in my presence. If you’re going to own this world and this is how you’re going to rule this world, I am not going to contribute anymore until you change it.
