Watch Talib Kweli Spit 64 Bars At Red Bull Studios (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Prolific lyricist Talib Kweli dropped into Red Bull Studios Auckland to take part in David Dallas’ “64 Bars” project.

Video of the performance first premiered on Facebook last July, but the clip has now been uploaded to YouTube.

Kweli used his 64 bars to make references to What’s Happening!!, Michael Jackson, Hip Hop culture, Futurama, the African diaspora, and a lot more.

The emcee/record label executive/activist is currently getting ready to hit the road for concert dates in New Haven, Atlanta, DC, Kansas City, Oakland, and Durham.

Fans will get to see the Javotti Media head perform in his hometown of New York City for shows at the Brooklyn Bowl as well.

Kweli is also in the process of promoting Javotti artist K’Valentine’s Here For A Reason scheduled for release on April 7.

In addition, the “64 Bars” series featured rhymes by Kid$eb, Raiza Biza, DIRTY, Abdul Kay, and INF.

“I’ve always liked hearing an artist go into a radio show – kick a new verse on air, and kill it. Overseas there’s things like Sway’s 5 Fingers of Death freestyles or Charlie Sloth’s Fire in the Booth. We didn’t really have an outlet like that in New Zealand anymore, so we created one,” said Dallas.

@itskvalentine dropped some heat with @realholidaystyles today.

Three Questions With Nate Nixen

(AllHipHop Features) Raised in Lake Orion and artistically reared in Detroit, Nate Nixon is on pace to be the next rap figure to rise from Michigan.

The 19-year-old rhymer garnered internet attention with his #First59 mini-music videos on Instagram. One of those clips even included bars by Detroit Pistons player Andre Drummond which led to articles about the collaboration being posted across the Hip Hop blogosphere and on sports media outlets.

It was social media that also played a large role in Nixen connecting with the growing Culture Republic company – the home of buzzing Southern emcee Nick Grant. According to Nate, it was a simple direct message that ignited his association with Jason Geter’s lifestyle brand.

“I’ve had a pretty good track record when it comes to identifying young talent and I feel like Nate definitely possesses that superstar dynamic,” states Geter, the co-founder of Grand Hustle Records along with Atlanta rap legend Tip “T.I.” Harris.

Nixen returns the love, “Geter is the man. He’s a smart guy with a lot of wisdom and a great spirit. The way he moves with artists just seemed like the right fit and I’ve just been trying to soak up as much game as I can from the O.G.”

In the latest edition of AllHipHop.com’s “Three Questions” series, Nate Nixen chats about Snoop Dogg’s debut LP, his favorite Detroit rap songs, and potentially meeting The Throne. Get to know the emerging spitter and skateboard enthusiast a little better in this exclusive Q&A.

If you could go back in time and personally witness any moment in Hip Hop history, which moment would you pick and why?

The release of Doggystyle by Snoop. That is my favorite album that came before my time. I wish I could have felt the energy when it was initially released.

If you were only able to listen to five songs from Detroit Hip Hop artists for the rest of your life, which songs would you pick?

“My Name Is” by Em, “Two Can Win” by J-Dilla/Big Sean, “Boy Would You” by Blade Icewood, “Try Me” by DeJ Loaf, and “D-Boy” by Big Sean, HBK, Dusty McFly & SAYITAINTTONE. All classic Detroit sh-t.

You’re given a choice between traveling for a week with [skateboarding legends] Rodney Mullen and Tony Hawk or spending ten minutes in the same room with Kanye West and Jay Z, which would be your first choice?

Kanye and Hov of course. I idolize them guys. I would kill to see their writing and recording process. However, I would invite Rodney and Tony to the studio. [laughs]

K’Valentine Talks Lack Of Respect For Female Rappers, Working With Talib Kweli (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) K’Valentine is set to drop her debut album Here For A Reason on Friday.

AllHipHop.com caught up with the Chicago rapper for an interview prior to the release.

Part of the discussion included K’Valentine’s thoughts about the level of respect for female emcees at the moment compared to their male counterparts.

“No, we ain’t getting the same respect,” stated K in an interview with AllHipHop’s D-Nellz. “I trust God’s timing, so if this is the time I’m finally finna drop my album, I feel like it will all come into place. But, nah, we don’t get the same respect.”

She continued, “Just amongst the females, it’s crazy because the guys kinda pit them against each other. You can have all these male artists – they work together, they shout each other out. But it’s like it can only be one queen or one woman at a time. That doesn’t make sense.”

The “Soul Searchin” rhymer was also asked about being discovered by veteran spitter Talib Kweli.

“He had a show in Chicago. I went to the show and ended up backstage. We exchanged information,” K recalls. “He allowed me to come by and play some music for him. He liked what he heard, and he said he wanted to put out a mixtape with me. So we put out Million Dollar Baby and we’ve been working since.”

K’Valentine’s Here For A Reason is being released via Kweli’s independent company Javotti Media.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Feel That They Don’t Get Credit For Influencing So Many Artists

(AllHipHop Rumors) It’s no secret that Bone Thugs-N-Harmony has definitely left a mark on popular music.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony recently stopped by TMZ’s Raq Rants to discuss staying relevant today, and just how much of a mark that they have made.

Krayzie Bone and Bizzy Bone commented that they’ve influenced so many Hip Hop artists and songs, that sometimes the artists don’t even realize or acknowledge their influence. They said that their style has influenced so many people that they [the artists] don’t even realize it.

Raq even commented that Drake had been recognized by some [delusional] fans seemingly as a founder of the rap-sing-harmonize wave, to which both Bizzy and Krayzie had a reply.

“His manager already told my homeboy he used to listen to Bone-Thugs-N Harmony before he wrote his music. Before he wrote his stuff, he used to be listening to Bone Thugs-N Harmony, and then he would go in and write his stuff,” said Bizzy Bone.

Krayzie Bone added,

“And Drake said that. He said he used to listen to Bone; he was a big fan. He definitely payed homage.”

Bizzy Bone also tells Tyga that there’s a animal loose at the zoo since Kylie Jenner was spotted rocking a Bone Thugs shirt. LOL. Uh oh Tyga! Watch your back and your girl. LOL.

I’d have to say it’s always entertaining to hear Hip Hop veterans and legends talk about their groupie moments as well, and Krayzie revealed that it used to GO DOWN because they were wild back in the day.

In your opinion, what other artists do you think Bone Thugs-N-Harmony influenced?

XXXTentacion Accuses Drake Of Being A Jamaican Culture Vulture

(AllHipHop Rumors) XXXTentacion said he’s going to milk all of his 15 minute fame off of Drake!

Florida rapper XXXTentacion has already expressed that he feels Drake is a whole b-tch for allegedly biting his style and his sound on “KMT”.

XXX says he would’ve had respect for the 6 God, had Drake come to his bond hearing. He feels if Drake would’ve come to the hearing, it would’ve made his day and showed that he is really down for the culture.

XXX still maintains that Drake bit his “sh-t” and ran off with it by putting it on his album.

Welp, XXXTentacion is not letting up on Drake as he’s now accused him of being a vulture for Jamaican culture. Drake has always been accused of “taking” from various cultures and regions. He’s even been getting picked on as fans claim that the Spanish, Jamaican, British, and Houston Drake all met up on ‘More Life’.

Anyway XXXTentacion is tired of Drizzy pretending to be Jamaican.

“Tell this p-ssy n-gga Drake stop speaking Patois. You are not Jamaican. I’m a real f-cking Jamaican. I”m from f-cking Kingston. All of my family is from Kingston. Stop stealing my people’s culture. Get the f-ck off our d-ck. We don’t claim you. Stop. We don’t want you. Go back to where you came from. Whose manz is this? Facts. Real sh-t,” said XXX.

Did Drake really bite this kid’s sound, or is he reaching?!

Kodak Black Accused Of Beating, Stomping Woman In A Miami Strip Club

(AllHipHop News) Kodak Black is already facing an uphill legal battle, as he sits in jail and now his problems have gotten worse.

Kodak Black is accused of assaulting a woman in a Miami-Dade strip club this past February.

Although the rapper has yet to be charged in the case, the Sun-Sentinel reports that a detective is looking into claims filed by a 34-year-old woman named Jennifer Cunningham.

Cunningham, who works as a bartender at Club Climaxx, claims the rapper approached her acting belligerent, and when she attempted to back him away, he allegedly struck her in the forehead with his right arm.

The attack continued and escalated into full-blown assault, when Kodak Black punched Cunningham, in addition to stomping on her while she was on the ground.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, the woman continued to work her shift and decided to call the police nearly eight hours later, when she returned to work.

“What I can tell you is that there was an altercation that ended in my client being assaulted,” Cunningham’s attorney said.

Kodak is currently in jail in for violating his probation in a separate case drug and weapons case and he is also facing charges that include criminal sexual misconduct in South Carolina, where he’s looking at up to 30 years in jail.

French Montana Defends Himself After Being Accused Of Posting Racist Tweet

(AllHipHop News) French Montana found himself trending on Twitter early Thursday morning.

The Bronx rapper became a topic of conversation on the social media site after he posted a tweet that some users took as being “anti-black.”

The controversy began when Twitter user @artdecoxxx wrote, “The fact that French Montana thinks anyone cares about him.”

She did not mention Montana’s Twitter handle, but the Moroccan-born entertainer still somehow saw the tweet and felt the need to respond.

“U musty crusty dusty rusty ass hoe with them nappy ass poetic justice braids take your c## drinking d-ck banging ass somewhere n be humble,” posted French.

That message from Montana received significant backlash.

“He only said all this [because] she black. I thought lesser races knew better than to call black women hair nappy,” tweeted one person.

“A non black man who loves black culture, makes money off the culture and hates black people. And he dates white women who wanna be black,” posted another user.

“Your music isn’t that good for you to feel all high and mighty like this. Are all those rappers in your music nappy headed too?” asked another person.

“She didn’t even @ him though how the f-ck did he find this,” wondered one man.

Others came to Montana’s defense, like the person who wrote, “Oh ok, so Northern Africans are only black when we need them to be for the sake of argument. Oh, ok gotcha.”

“Let this be an example. Black people need to stop disrespecting each other because then these other races…follow by example smh,” added another user.

Five hours later, Montana then returned to the social media platform to defend himself.

“How people get mad at u for draging [sic] somebody that tried to drag u,” he posted.

The firestorm did not die down, so the “Pop That” performer added more tweets about the subject.

“My son is black, and I was born in africa I lived there for 13 years I ain’t no punching bag, and I don’t discriminate! don’t come for me,” wrote Montana. “If your hair nappy its nappy that sh-t don’t have nothing to do with your race.”

However, those tweets led to even more negative responses.

“Wow he just made it worse. So you don’t know the word “nappy” is used as a racial slur to discribe [sic] black women’s hair? Just log off dude!” suggested one Twitter user.

French Montana finally decided to offer an apology for his comments, “My mother is african queen and I was married to a beautiful black queen. All I did was defend myself if I affended [sic] anybody I apologize.”

Troy Ave Talks Taxstone, Saving Casanova’s Life & Feeling Like The New 2Pac (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Troy Ave’s 2016 was consumed with arrests and shoot-outs.

The Brooklyn native is attempting to have his 2017 focused more on music like his new project Dope Boy Troy.

Troy visited The Breakfast Club to discuss the release, but he also spoke about some of the concerns he had to deal with in the recent past.

One of those issues being his relationship with fellow BK rapper Casanova.

“I saved Casanova’s life one night at a pool party in Long Island,” claimed Troy. “I saved son’s life that night. If he ain’t a fraud, he’ll tell you.”

According to the 31-year-old spitter, Casanova was mistaken to be someone else and was only protected because of Troy’s involvement in the situation.

Casanova is closely aligned with Taxstone, the currently incarcerated podcast host who is allegedly connected to the Irving Plaza shooting that left Troy Ave injured and Ronald “Banga” McPhatter dead.

Troy did not say too much about Tax’s legal drama during the Breakfast Club interview.

However, the BSB leader did state, “I don’t have no opinions on that man. We didn’t have no relationship for it to get so bad. Look up the FBI indictment. I ain’t gotta say nothing. Look it up.”

The radio show conversation also featured Troy comparing himself to the late Tupac Shakur.

“It’s the second coming of 2Pac. It’s ‘new Pac.’ I go do shows, everything’s different,” declared Troy.

After Charlamagne Tha God suggested people are “going to kill you about that Tupac comment,” Troy Ave responded, “I didn’t say nothing about Tupac… I didn’t say I’m the new Pac. I said the feeling is like on some Tupac sh-t.”

Suge Knight’s Ex-Wife Responds To Allegations She Was Involved In Killing 2Pac (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) A new documentary titled Tupac Assassination 3: Battle For Compton makes some bold accusations surrounding the murder of 2Pac.

The film suggests Death Row co-founder Suge Knight’s then-wife Sharitha Golden and former Death Row security chief Reggie Wright Jr. allegedly killed Tupac in an attempt to kill Knight.

Golden responded to the allegations in a video clip posted by TMZ.

“I’m so damn sick of getting 100,000 calls about this. No way in hell I would’ve murdered 2Pac. For what reason?” declared Golden. “This ridiculous theory that I had to get half of Death Row… I already had half of Death Row, America. When 2Pac died, what did Death Row become after that? Zero. Nothing. A downfall.”

Knight’s attorney has also denied the Golden/Wright murder theory was true, and Thaddeus Culpepper took issue with any suggestion he supported the claim.

“As counsel for Mr. Knight, my duty is to represent and assist him in his present cases,” stated Culpepper. “I have never made any statements regarding Tupac Shakur, nor have I made any statements on my client’s behalf regarding Mr. Shakur, written or otherwise. Articles relying on this unattributed press release are without merit.”

Rick Ross Might Have To Pay Kyyngg A Visit Over New Allegations!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Strange Louisiana rapper Kyyngg certainly keeps people talking.

At a time when Desiigner was roasted for being a fake Future, Kyyngg was certainly looked at as a Great Value brand Young Thug.

From Kyyngg issues with Birdman and Thugger, him thinking his girlfriend looks better than Nicki Minaj, to him recently defending Drake against XXXTentacion, he certainly isn’t one to bite his tongue.

Now the rapper is accusing Rick Ross of biting not only his song, but his style also!

“On my life though, if you got that sh-t from somewhere else, I would take that sh-t down I promise, but I know for a fact where it come from. It make too much sense; it sound too much of like…… Bruh said it the same amount of times I said it, he said it. ‘Trap, trap, trap, trap, trap.’ I melodized mine. He must’ve just dropped that song. I ain’t mad. I don’t take that kind of sh-t personal though, but that’s ironic though, real ironic that sh-t like that is really going on in today’s music scene. We supposed to be taking from them, but sh-t it be like that though,” said Kyyngg.

He also posted,

“SMH! WOULD DIS S### BE IRONIC IF I SAY @richforever MADE A SONG (EXACTLY) [THE SAME WAY SAME WORDS SAME MELODIES SAME EVERYTHING!!!] THEN HE PUT TUGGER ONIT??? YALL GO LOOK UP KYYNGG – “TRAP” PLEASE!!! IMADE DIS SH-T LAST SUMMER??? ***DA LINK IN ME F-CKING BIO?”

Do you hear the similarities, or is he reaching?!

Pepsi “Missed the Mark” and Pulls Kendall Jenner’s Disastrous Commercial

(AllHipHop News) Pepsi bosses have pulled their controversial new ad featuring Kendall Jenner following outrage online.

The soft drinks company launched the ad, which featured Kendall caught up in a peace protest, on Tuesday (April 4).

In the commercial, after catching the eye of a musician who is walking in the crowd, Kendall rips off her blonde wig, scrubs the lipstick from her lips, abandons her glamorous photo shoot, and joins the march.

She quickly becomes the star of the show, and grabs a can of Pepsi from an overflowing ice bucket and hands it to one of the police officers on duty.

After a brief pause, the cop cracks open the can and everyone rejoices.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dA5Yq1DLSmQ

Twitter users were quick to condemn the campaign, which carries the slogan, “Live bolder, live louder, live for now.”

Kendall, 21, still has yet to comment on the controversy, although she did share a link to the commercial not long after it dropped.

Pepsi marketing bosses have now pulled the ad, releasing a statement that reads:

“Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly we missed the mark, and we apologize.”

“We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position,” they add.

The campaign’s cancellation will be a big blow for Kendall, who admitted she was “honored” to be the soft drink giant’s new spokesmodel just before the advertisement was launched.

I’ll Name This Movie Later: Guess Who’s Writing A Movie Script?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Joe Budden may not necessarily be dropping music often, but he’s certainly working!

Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks just revealed that they’d be joining forces for a new web series called ‘Everyday Struggles’ that will cover the top artists and their statuses in the game.

As you know, Budden also has his ‘I’ll Name This Podcast Later’ podcast as well. Budden took to Twitter yesterday to reveal that he’s also been writing a movie!

“I’m writing a movie currently… kinda excited about it!” said Budden.

I honestly wonder what it will be about, and what it will be called. Why do I feel like the movie will be wild with rappers, heaux, and drugs? LOL. Maybe it’ll draw from some of his own personal experiences.

What do you think the movie will be about? I can’t wait to see if it truly gets picked up and who ends up being casted for it.

Jewelers Claim T.I. Is Using Legal Tricks To Avoid Paying Close To $800K

(AllHipHop Rumors) It looks like those jewelers are still asking Tip to run them their coins!

A jewelry company has been in the process of suing T.I. for a minute now for over $1 million for breach of contract for some pretty nice jewelry items.

According to Bossip, Aydin & Co sued T.I. in 2015 for breach of contract as the rapper allegedly blew off their oral contract. The company has claimed that the rapper owes them $755,000 for some bling that he never paid a dime on.

See that’s why you have to get everything in writing! I don’t care who it is, celebrity or NOT!.

Tip continues to deny that he owes any money to the jewelers. To make it worse, Tip is saying that even if he did allegedly owe money to them, hasn’t the statute of limitation run out. I wonder if T.I. and his big bucks can make this go away as he is trying to get the judge to rule in his favor.

Aydin & Co., say that they sold hundreds of thousands of jewelry pieces to Tip from 2004-2012. These alleged pieces included $9,500 diamond hoop earrings, a 48-carat diamond chain, two $10,000 custom-made dog tags, a $24,500 women’s diamond bracelet, a $30,000 blue diamond watch, a $13,500 men’s wedding band, and $40,000 in assorted women’s jewelry. Oh yeah, we can’t forget there were also alleged $145,000 in diamond pendants made also.

I find it hard that a jewelry company would make up all of this on a rapper, or maybe they could exaggerate. Who knows. Apparently T.I. was allegedly making payments up until 2013, and then he just quit. The company’s owner is said to have reached out to no avail, causing him to file the suit.

T.I. claims that he never received any of the said jewelry, and he never signed any of the company’s invoices. Tip is also saying that the jewelry company still hasn’t provided any texts or emails to back up their claims either.

Rappers and their jewelry man. LOL I NEVER understand the jewelry hype. It just always looked like a waste of money to me. Carry on!

This is the most jewelry I’ve seen Tip sport in a while though to be honest!

Is Kim Kardashian Moving Out On Kanye West?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Kanye West & Kim Kardashian’s marriage has been rumored to be on the rocks for a while now, especially after Kim’s Parisian robbery.

Word on the curb is now that Kim K may have packed her bags and moved out on Kanye West to allegedly give the rapper and producer some space.

Although every couple, especially celebrity couples go through their differences, I for some reason believe that KimYe will last longer than we expect. I do believe that there’s more than meets the eye with them though.

An insider close to the situation even told us that allegedly Kim’s momager, Kris Jenner is making Kim film a “break up” scene on ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’.

Hey with this nutty family of attention seekers, anything is possible. I don’t know what’s real, and what’s fake with them anymore.

Best believe if KimYe ever do divorce they will milk the drama for every dime that it’s worth, but this family will also stage drama to get people talking, or take a real fight in the relationship, and blow it up/exaggerate it even more to get ratings. I guess we’ll never know with Ye and Kim until……..we really know.

Do you think they are having major problems in their relationship?

Ludacris Turns Into A Flying Pegasus Toy On “Get-Well Gus” Episode

(AllHipHop News) Rapper/actor Ludacris is getting animated for a guest role on hit children’s cartoon “Doc McStuffins.”

The “Fast and Furious” star has recorded the voice for the character Get-Well Gus, a flying Pegasus toy, for an upcoming episode of the Disney Junior series, titled “Get-Well Gus Gets Well.”

“I’m a fan of Doc McStuffins… I think it has a great message (and) great creativity,” Ludacris recently said. “I love the animation. I love everything about it.”

Of his episode, in which his character injures one of his wings, he said, “I think it’s good because it really shows kids how to take care of themselves and to look at it differently whenever they get hurt as opposed to feeling bad about it.”

“Get-Well Gus Gets Well,” which premieres in the U.S. on Friday (April 7), was the perfect project for the father of three as his youngest two daughters, Cadence and Cai, are big fans of the show.

Ludacris welcomed Cadence with his wife Eudoxie in May, 2015, while three-year-old Cai and Karma, 15, are his girls from previous relationships.

Meanwhile, Ludacris is also currently promoting the new “Fast and Furious” sequel, “The Fate of the Furious,” which opens on April 14.

Tupac Shakur’s Dream Of Opening A Restaurant Comes True Friday

(AllHipHop News) The executors of rap legend Tupac Shakur’s estate will fulfill his dream of opening Powamekka Cafe in New York this week.

The “California Love” hitmaker scribbled his ideas for the concept cafe in his private notebook and on Friday (April 7), Tupac’s dream will become reality when the Powamekka Cafe takes over restaurant Sweet Chick from April 7 to April 9.

The rapper’s childhood photos and memorabilia will be on display and his favorite meals, meatloaf, gumbo, and his cousin’s fried chicken wings will be among the items on the menu.

“Tupac’s creative vision was limitless,” a press release from trustee Tom Whalley reads. “He was constantly working on ideas and plans that reached far beyond music and film.

“One of the things he was extremely passionate about was opening a restaurant; he even sketched out plans and a concept for a menu. We are proud to bring Tupac’s Powamekka Cafe to life.”

The restaurant launch comes as the rapper is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in New York on Friday night (April 7). He’ll join Pearl Jam, Yes, and Journey among the Class of 2017.
