Stephanie Santiago Refuses Rick Ross’ Offer And The Bawse Isn’t Pleased

(AllHipHop Rumors) Stephanie Santiago is a hot mama, but now she’s a spicy sista! She stood up to the Bawse Rick Ross. Rick commanded SS to pour his drink and he didn’t ask. She refused. And it seemed like Rozay didn’t like her saying no to that. It seemed like it since he continuously went back to it during the interview on Angela Yee’s Lip Service.

Check it out.

I’m riding with SS since she did this for A Tribe Called Quest:

Rap Legend Ice Cube Signs NBA Player Charles Oakley To BIG3 Professional Basketball League

(AllHipHop News) Controversial NBA basketball star Charles Oakley may not be welcomed by The New York Knicks or Madison Square Garden, but he has found a home with rapper Ice Cube.

Ice Cube started The BIG3 with former entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz in January, to bring 3-on-3 half-court basketball to arenas around the country this summer.

Charles Oakley, who played with the New York Knicks for 10 seasons, has joined The BIG3 professional basketball league and will serve as a coach of a new team this summer.

“I couldn’t be happier to be a part of this league,” said Oakley. “Everyone seems to realize we are about to make history together as players. What an exciting opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the best ever.”

Ice Cube made the announcement as 2017 All-Star Weekend in New Orleans takes place.

The N.W.A. founding member-turned-director/actor, wasted no time checking the Knicks over their treatment of Charles Oakley, just days after the NBA player was arrested and banned from Madison Square Garden, after a courtside altercation with team owner James Dolan.

“The players and coaches are our central focus at the BIG3. Charles Oakley is an NBA legend, who deserves and has earned respect, and will get just that in our league,” said Founder Ice Cube, taking a shot at the Knicks’ treatment of the basketball great.

Ice Cube’s league already has a number of seasoned professionals attached as talent, including players Allen Iverson, Chauncey Billups, Gary Payton, Kenyon Martin, Stephen Jackson, Jermaine O’Neal, Rashard Lewis, Jason Williams, Bonzi Wells and Mike Bibby.

Coaches include Rashard Lewis and Jason Williams, who will lead the 3 Headed Monsters, while Kenyon Martin and Al Harrington will captain the Trilogy.

Charles Oakley, Chauncey Billups and Stephen Jackson will captain the Killer 3s.

Roger Mason Jr., former Deputy Executive Director of the NBA Players Association, has been tapped to serve as President & Commissioner of the new professional basketball league.

Beginning this summer, fans can catch The BIG3 league in different arenas and cities across the country.

A full schedule of dates and venues will be announced on March 12, 2017.

Troy Ave Shows Off His Shot Up Red Maserati

(AllHipHop News) Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave recently showed off footage of his damage Maserati after it was shot up with him inside of it, on Christmas Day.

Troy Ave was sitting in the car with his girlfriend, when an unknown gunman snuck up to his parked car on a Brooklyn street on December 25, 2016.

The assailant opened fire on the bright red luxury vehicle, shattering its windows and causing major damage to the vehicle.

Troy Ave was shot twice in the incident, while his girlfriend escaped with no injuries.

So far, investigators have yet to charge anyone in that incident on Troy’s life.

“Blood in tha Foreign! some is mine, most is Jesus,'” Troy Ave said. “I’m blessed.”

The rapper was also involved in a deadly altercation with podcaster Taxstone, during a deadly altercation at Irving Plaza last May.

Troy Ave’s bodyguard Ronald “Banga” McPhatter was shot and killed in a green room and four other people were struck, including Troy Ave.

Troy Ave, born Roland Collins, is currently free on $500,000 bail.

He has pleaded not guilty for his role in the shootout, while Taxstone is being held without bail on weapons charges.

However, Taxstone could be charged with first-degree murder, since his DNA was found on the Kel-Tec 9mm used in the shooting, which was also connected to the radio host through an investigation conducted by authorities.
Troy Ave is also preparing to drop a new mixtape series called “DopeBoyTroy” Volume1.

Willow and Jaden Smith Talk Fame and Their Future In New Interview By Pharrell

(AllHipHop News) Willow and Jaden Smith have a first, with their appearance together on the cover of Interview Magazine.

The two siblings sat down for an in-depth Q&A session with none other than Pharrell Williams.

In the interview, the pair discussed a number of issues, from growing up famous, to their parents being their role models, to their ten-year predictions for the future.

According to the pair, growing up growing up as the famous son and daughter of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, was not easy.

However, the two siblings, who have been famous since they were born, manage to deal with the pressures of fame and normalizing their lives, since they are “aware.”

“Like, okay, I’m in New York right now. I’m not posting an emoji of a plane on Instagram, like, ‘New York,’” explained Jaden. “I don’t want anyone to know that I’m here in New York. And by the time this comes out, I won’t be. We don’t like people to really know what’s happening with us or what we’re into. The only thing that we want to keep people updated with is that we want to keep the kids that are following us, the kids that are looking up to us updated on what we’re learning and what we’re thinking about life

Check out the full feature with Interview Magazine here and take a look at some highlights below:

On Where they see themselves in 10 years:

JADEN: Gone.

WILLOW: I feel that. I see myself in the mountains somewhere in a tent cooking a squirrel.

Pharrell: Who are your biggest inspirations?
WILLOW: My parents. Growing up, all I saw was my parents trying to be the best people they could be, and people coming to them for wisdom, coming to them for guidance, and them not putting themselves on a pedestal, but literally being face-to-face with these people and saying, “I’m no better than you, but the fact that you’re coming to me to reach some sort of enlightenment or to shine a light on some- thing, that makes me feel love and gratitude for you.”

JADEN: I 100 percent agree with Willow on that one. My parents are definitely my biggest role models. And that’s where me and Willow both pull all of our inspiration from to change the world. It all comes from a concept of affecting the world in a positive way and leaving it better than it was than when we came. I feel like that enters into all types of different areas because there are so many different outlets that life has to offer for us. That goes into technology, into music. That goes into science, into spirituality, into education. Where me and Willow come from, a lot of it is trying to make society more efficient, so that kids don’t cry, like, “Why do I have to go to school?” Instead, kids are like, “Yeah! I’m so glad to go to school! I’m a better person than I was yesterday, and I can help people.”

Boosie Calls For A Ghetto Grammys

(AllHipHop Rumors) The week following the 59th Grammys has certainly been one to remember. LOL.

It seems like a lot of people are fed up and displeased for one reason or another over the coveted award show.

Welp, at least Boosie is realistic when he says he’ll probably never win a Grammy. Ya gotta be honest with yourself people. I don’t say this as a diss because lawd knows early Boosie, Webbie, Jeezy, Gucci etc were also on the soundtracks to my high school years okay!

Anyway Boosie recently released a video where he expresses how unlikely it is that he’d take home a gold gramophone in his lifetime.

“I probably won’t never win a muthaf-ckin’ Grammy. You gotta understand I’m like a… I’m the bad boy. Kind of like the bad boy of the industry. But if they had a ghetto Grammy? I ain’t winning that Grammy n-gga. But if they had a ghetto Grammy? If they had a f-cking Grammy in the muthaf-ckin’ hood? And everybody voted in the muthaf-ckin’ streets? N-gga, I’d have 55 muthaf-ckin’ Grammys n####, ya heard me?” said Boosie.

Although Boosie is a pretty funny guy, there is a little truth to what he’s saying, there are underground rappers with extreme underground success that aren’t always rewarded because of their failure to fully cross over to mainstream. So unless someone brings them out during a performance, they probably won’t be up on those award show stages.

Side note, Future is signed, and he’s never even been nominated. Hmmmmmm I’m not sure that he should’ve been either yet but eh, Boosie is proposing that there be a Ghetto Grammys.

Fans joked in the comments saying that that once existed in the forms of the Source Awards, Vibe Awards, on down to the Ozone Awards. Some even insulted the BET Awards calling them the Ghetto Grammys. Many did disagree with the latter as they expressed that BET has represented truly for our genres in their award shows.

Well given the history or The Source Awards and the violence, Boosie, I’m not quite sure we need a Ghetto Grammys. It sounds like a tragedy waiting to happen. Carry on!

British Rapper Skepta Planning Classic Remake With Matt Healy Of The1975

(AllHipHop News) THE 1975 rocker Matt Healy is determined to hit the recording studio with rapper SKEPTA and create a crossover hit like the Pet Shop Boys’ “West End Girls.”

The singer reveals he’s been pals with Skepta for a while, and although they have attempted to sort out a collaboration, their plans have yet to come to fruition.

However, after reuniting at the NME Awards in London on Wednesday night (February 15), when they both walked away winners, Matt is more eager than ever to lay down some vocals with the British hip-hop star – and perhaps launch a side project together.

“Me and Skepta know each other,” he told NME.com. “We tried working with each other recently but it just didn’t work out. Just for loads of reasons – but we’re going to do something in the future.

“We want to do like a ‘West End Girls’ Pet Shop Boys (kind of thing). Maybe start a band, just me and Skepta do a band. Well, we’re talking about it, so let’s see what happens.”

Skepta was named Best British Male Artist at the ceremony, while The 1975 landed the Best Live Band title.

Pet Shop Boys members Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe were also big winners at the NME Awards, taking home the Godlike Genius Award.

Is Remy Ma Dissing Nicki Minaj On New Song “Warning” ?

(AllHipHop News) Fat Joe and Remy Martin just released their new album Plato O Ploma and with it comes a new record titled “Warning” featuring Kat Dahlia.

There’s already speculation some of Remy’s bars are squarely aimed at New York rapper Nicki Minaj.

While Joey serves up some anecdotal street rhymes, it is Remy’s verse which seems to be aimed squarely at Nicki Minaj, that will have fans talking.

“How dare you allow people to compare you/Better be careful/I don’t care you, tried to be my friend but I didn’t care to/bob and weave on you hoes like hairdos/ I’m from the Bronx man/why would I fear you/when you scared to death and your flunkies is scared too/felt your heart trembling when I came near you/

Even though Remy never mentions the famed rapper by name, people will assume she is once again taking some subliminal shots at Nicki Minaj on “Warning.”

A few days ago, Remy denied her “barbs” were deliberate shots at Nicki.

“If you look at the history of Remy Ma, whenever I’ve had a problem with any female in the entire game I will say your name,” Remy said during an interview with The Breakfast Club. “I do not want you sitting there thinking, ‘Oh my god, is she talking about me?’”

She continued, “I’m going to say your government [name]. I’m going to look it up. I’m going to say your mother’s name, your father’s name, your kids’ name. I want you to know that I’m talking about you.”

The Game Has The Perfect Replacement For Destiny Child’s Michelle Williams

(AllHipHop Rumors) Despite all of her success, Destiny Child’s Michelle Williams still can’t catch a break!

The Game caught a lot of flack for one of his recent comments about Michelle, but I couldn’t do anything but chuckle, because over the years, I’m sure many of us have considered her possible replacements, or just additions to the R&B trio period.

Yes, Michelle is both beautiful and talented, but even I always wondered why they didn’t put Solange in Destiny’s Child back in the day, especially with Solange dancing in some of Beyonce’s music videos. Sometimes I wonder is Solange’s style and persona authentically her or was it created to guarantee that she’d come out of her sister’s shadow.

Photos surfaced of Destiny’s Child and others hanging out at Solange’s Grammy after party, as well as a screenshot of Game in The Shaderoom’s comments saying that he had the perfect replacement for Williams…….none other than Solange! LOL.

“Let Solange replace Michelle in Destiny’s Child. (hand on temple),” posted Game.

Fans began going in on Game in the comments feeling like the comment was disrespectful, and because Michelle has always been the butt of so many jokes in regards to Destiny’s Child. I sure hope the girl has tough skin, and high self esteem, because one cannot forget all of the things that were “pointed out” in the #PoorMichelle hashtag. LOL. Carry on!

Drake Gives Surpise Shows In the U.K. With Popular UK Rappers

(AllHipHop News) Drake staged a surprise gig for fans in London on Thursday (February 16) when he crashed a concert headlined by fellow rappers Smoke Dawg and Nafe Smallz.

The “Hotline Bling” hitmaker had a night off in between shows on his Boy Meets World Tour and decided to drop by club XOYO, where the rising stars were both billed to perform.

In video footage posted online, attendees screamed as Drake stepped out onstage and launched into his hit “Energy.”

He also brought out a few special guests, with British MCs Skepta, Giggs and the Section Boyz all making appearances at the small venue, which only holds 800 people.

The set was so impromptu, Giggs later admitted he had no idea he would be performing that night.

Sharing a concert clip on Instagram today (February 17), he wrote, “Last night I threw on a tracksuit with a plan to quickly step out, eat a quick food, go home and catch up on some sleep. Next thing I know, this is happening….”

After the XOYO surprise, Drake headed to the city’s Paper nightclub, where he also hopped on the microphone, much to the crowd’s delight.

Drake has been serving up treats for fans throughout his Boy Meets World trek and at his gig at London’s O2 Arena on Wednesday (February 15), he helped to make one devotee’s American football dreams come true after calling on his athlete pal Odell Beckham, Jr. to sign the man’s jersey.

The star athlete was among the famous guests in the audience at the show, and after Drake spotted the fan’s New York Giants shirt, he promptly took it over to Beckham, Jr. to autograph.

The Canadian rapper added his signature, before giving the top back, much to the fan’s amazement.

“There you go, brother,” he smiled in video footage of the encounter, as the man could be heard screaming, “Oh my God, oh my God!”

7UP Goes Hip-Hop With 2 Chainz And Sir Mix-A-Lot In New Ad Campaign

2 Chainz, Sir Mix-A-Lot

(AllHipHop News) Atlanta hip-hop star 2 Chainz has teamed with 7UP as part of a new integrated campaign which just launched.

The humorous new spot is slated to ramp up during All-Star Weekend and features the rapper sitting on a yacht with a woman on his lap, while drinks are prepared and served.

Reps for the company said they wanted to show all the ways 7UP could be mixed with drinks.

Rappers like Yelawolf, DJ Quik (“Tonight”) Yelawolf (“Funky S##t”) and E40 (“7 Much”), have all rapped about creating concoctions using the soft drink.

So, 7UP wanted to capitalize on the way the soda is frequently used, according to reps at the company, which leveraged insights from consumer data.

“We didn’t need to look far to realize that people have been using 7UP as a component of their concoctions for decades. We wanted to acknowledge that truth and elevate all the ways in which consumers are enjoying our product,” said Kevin Brandvold, director of marketing for 7UP. “We’re excited that 7UP represents a trusted ingredient to our consumers, and this campaign really brings that idea to life.”

There’s also a “Mix It Up A Little” campaign with legendary “Baby Got Back” rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot.

Village People Singer Claims The Grammys Have A Secret Racist Committee To Block Black Wins!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Welp! Are you surprised?

The Grammys have come under much critique over the years for not fully awarding and recognizing black artists and their musical accomplishments. So to no one’s surprise, all hell broke loose when Adele beat out Beyonce for the Album Of The Year award at this year’s ceremony.

Well it looks like Village People singer, Victor Willis, has had enough and is ready to air it all about the Recording Academy and their ways.

Willis claims that there is a secret committee in place to make sure that black artists don’t take home “too many” Grammys! So apparently, they aren’t just out of touch; they are strategic.

Willis sent a letter to the President of the Recording Academy demanding that he confess about a secret group they allegedly had that was formed back in 1985 after Lionel Richie beat Bruce Springsteen for the Album Of The Year award.

According to TMZ, Willis claims the committee’s sole purpose is to override Grammy voters in the event the select committee does not like who the Grammy voter has chosen for the most important awards. INSANE!

Willis also suggests that there is a strong racial element, as he questions how many African Americans are on the said committee. According to TMZ, they did some digging, and found out that a secret committee does exist, but it’s put in place to take out embarrassing and undeserving nominations. The Recording Academy has since denied that any such committees exist. What are your thoughts?

Chance the Rapper Turning Down Tens of Millions In Advances

(AllHipHop News) Chance the Rapper’s value has skyrocketed since he won three Grammy Awards last week, at the 59th Annual ceremony.

Chance is an unconventional artist without any record label backing and he still managed to beat a slew of established stars and won Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, and Best New Artist.

According to reports, every major record label is attempting to sign Chance and they are offering up huge advances.

“He’s making too much on his own,” a source told the New York Post. “He was turning down $5 million advances before, and now it’s like $10 million.”

While the rapper is allegedly in talks to possibly work with Apple, Chance is set on remaining independent.

Chance, who distributes most of his music for free, told Vanity Fair that he is not worried about his music.

He said that after his second mixtape, and meeting with three labels, he realized the best route for him was to offer up his work, with no limitations.

“I make money from touring and selling merchandise, and I honestly believe if you put effort into something and you execute properly, you don’t necessarily have to go through the traditional ways,” Chance said in an interview with Vanity Fair.

Nick Cannon Says His Community Is More Important Than TV, Sources Reportedly Fear Mental Health Issues

(AllHipHop News) Nick Cannon partially built his career in entertainment through television gigs like All That, Wild ‘N Out, and Real Husbands of Hollywood.

The recent dustup with NBC executives over his hosting job with America’s Got Talent has some observers wondering about his future with the network or other small-screen opportunities.

However, according to Cannon, TV is not near the top of his list of life priorities at the moment.

“At this point right now, my focus is working with my community. Television is a small part of what I do,” stated Cannon during a Black Lives Matter event at New York City’s South Bronx Charter School. “They thought it was a major asset in my life, but it really isn’t.”

Over the last few months, Cannon has become an outspoken voice on politics, police brutality, and social issues.

He regularly uses his social media accounts to express his thoughts on society and culture.

Besides cutting ties with AGT, Page Six reports Cannon fired longtime members of his team, publicist Alla Plotkin and agent Chris Smith.

The gossip publication also claims insiders connected to Cannon are worried about the actor/comedian’s mental health.

The Page Six article reads:

Meanwhile, we’re told Cannon has recently “got really into religion,” wears robes and a turban and refers to himself as “Reverend Dr. Cannon.” Apparently he isn’t attached to a specific religion so much as a general spirituality.

Cannon’s Instagram page contains several recent posts about pain and depression.

The 36-year-old Hollywood veteran uploaded a meme that states, “Sometimes when I say, ‘I’m okay,” I want someone to look me in the eyes, hug me tight, and say, ‘I know you’re not.'”
