Trey Songz Responds To Keke Palmer’s Claims Of Being Secretly Filmed And Harassed At Video Shoot (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Scream Queens actress Keke Palmer made a lot of headlines over the last few weeks because of her accusations against R&B singer Trey Songz.

Palmer claimed she was secretly filmed for a music video while at a party with Songz.

She wrote (in part) on a January Instagram post:

How am I in this video Trey? After you found me in a closet HIDING because I was so afraid of anymore conflict. Literally my last option was to hide because you all would not listen when I said I did not want to be in the video the FIRST time. Just cause you give someone food and alcohol and throw in a little sexual intimidation doesn’t mean they will buckle.

Songz has now addressed Palmer’s allegations in an interview with The Breakfast Club.

“Ain’t nobody put her on camera without asking. There’s a sign on the door: you step on the premises, you will be recorded. Point blank period. I don’t have to say nothing else about nothing,” stated Trey.

The “Slow Motion” vocalist went on to say he has known Palmer for many years and that was why he did not want to speak about the incident.

Apparently, the continuation of Palmer’s insistence that she was harassed at the shoot led to Trey addressing the matter.

“She was doing the most to defame me. I thought that was wack,” added Songz.

At one point, The Breakfast Club co-host Angela Yee mentioned that Keke supposedly spoke to Trey and they settled the issue.

“That’s a lie too. I ain’t talk to her,” responded Songz. “I ain’t call her. I ain’t try to call Keke. None of that.”

The Tremaine album creator also told the radio show the song in question –  “Pick Up the Phone” – is not even his record and he had nothing to do with the posting or removal of the video.

“I don’t care that much to sneak Keke Palmer in the video for two seconds. Who the f-ck does that? I’m gonna sneak you in the video, Keke? No, I’m not. F-ck out of here,” declared Songz.

It should be noted that “Pick Up The Phone” does appear on the Trappy New Years mixtape by Trey Songz and Fabolous.

Fat Joe Flipped Out On Big Pun Over Sugary Prank

(AllHipHop News) Fat Joe recently hosted a Reddit AMA, to promote his newest album with Remy Ma, titled Plata O Plomo.

Joey Crack answered a mixture of questions for fans throughout his AMA, which recounted his history, how he has evolved in hip-hop over the past 30 years, his favorite foods, and his relationship with the late legendary Terror Squad member, Big Pun.

Even though Fat Joe doesn’t have physical unreleased music on Pun, he still has plenty of fond memories.

One of those involves the time Big Pun played a practical joke on Fat Joe when they were dining at a restaurant in New York.

“He always looked at me like as his big brother, the OG, but one day I went to drink my soda, and it might have been a mountain of sugar in there,” Fat Joe recalled. “Like as soon as I sipped it I spit and when I looked he was laughing and I flipped over the f##king table, I made the biggest scene in the restaurant and he was looking at me like ‘Yo twin I was just having’ – ‘No! F##k that don’t play with me m###########,” Fat Joe said he snapped at Pun.

“His face was priceless at that moment, he was looking like ‘wow I really got Joe p#####.’ It was crazy,” Fat Joe said.

Funny stories aside, Fat Joe addressed the current crop of rappers.

Joey echoed numerous veterans’ recent claims that the younger generation doesn’t pay the proper respect to the masters who came before them.

Fat Joe also isn’t feeling the style of some rappers dress.

“I disagree with some of these guys, the way they dress and color their hair and s##t like that,” Fat Joe revealed. “That’s not really my way, you know what I mean? But I would never bad talk any young artist trying to make it happen for themselves. At the end of the day, this is art, their lives can be as creative as they wanna be

During the conversation, Fat Joe admitted his generation of artists went through the same things in the early 1990’s with an older crop of M.C.’s, who weren’t feeling his street edge.

Fat Joe’s album with Remy my Fat Joe’s and Remy Ma album Plata O Plomo is out now.

Meek Mill Has Some Advice For Black Lives Matter

(AllHipHop Rumors) You know Meek Mill tries to speak up and throw his two cents in on social and political issues every now and then.

Following the shooting death of 11-year-old Takiya Holmes and a few others in Chicago this week, Meek Mill is now calling for the Black Lives Matter organization to additionally expand their focus to the black on black violence, senseless violence, and the warzone that is Chiraq aka Chicago.

Meek took to Instagram to share his thoughts,

“I think it’s about time for “black lives matter” focus on Chicago” it’s a lot of kids dying out there and we putting all our focus on cops! RIP BABY GIRL, ONE OF 3 little kids killed this week! CNN not covering this news!”

Apparently 19-year-old Antwan Jones opened fire after seeing three rival gang members selling drugs nearby. Takiya was sitting in a nearby van and was struck in her right temple.

Kanari Bowers, 12, was shot in the head by a stray bullet about 30 minutes before Takiya was shot in the West Englewood neighborhood, and the murder of 2-year-old Lavontay White Jr. was captured on Facebook Live.

This sh-t is out of control in Chicago, and it has been for a while. Does Meek Mill have a valid point?

“Fist Fight” Star Tracy Morgan Talks One on One With AllHipHop

Image result for tracy morgan gif(AllHipHop Features) As “Fist Fight” prepares to open nationwide in theaters on February 17, 2017, All Hip Hop reporter Kylie Krabbe was able to talk with “Fist Fight” co-star and comedian Tracy Morgan. “Fist Fight” marks an important milestone for Morgan as it is his first feature film acting job after his highly publicized multi car crash in 2014.  The accident, which was a head-on collision with a Walmart truck,  resulted in the death of Morgan’s  friend and fellow comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair and Morgan himself being in a coma.   Now back from those critical injuries, Morgan describes his experience on “Fist Fight” and what it means to rediscover his comedic career:

AllHipHop.com: For decades you have been known for your ability to be uniquely funny and a veritable master of Ad Lib. “Fist Fight” director Richie Keen said that he was mad at himself for calling cut too soon after your first take in “Fist Fight.” He says that he never made the mistake again for the remainder of your scenes. Do you remember what that fateful Ad Lib was that he so regretted missing that first day?

Tracy Morgan: No I don’t remember. That was a long time ago. But that’s the way that I’ve always been, you know as far as improv, visual and observational stuff. It just comes to me. It’s my comedic instincts.

AllHipHop.com: Your accident involved neurological damage due to the head trauma suffered. Has that damage and/or your recovery from it significantly affected or changed your process when it comes to your comedy and acting?

Tracy Morgan: No. I mean I continue with the same process. I just feel like maybe I am aware more. Maybe I am more observational. The things that I’m saying, I think that my timing is sharper now.

AllHipHop.com: Really? In what way? Can you elaborate?

Tracy Morgan: As far as my comedic timing?

AllHipHop.com: Yes.

Tracy Morgan: You’ve seen that today.

AllHipHop.com: Yes, but you noticing it as a comedian might be considerably different from what I or someone else might notice as someone who simply enjoys comedy. Also, you would be the best observer as the person who has actually gone through that change.

Tracy Morgan: I mean, that’s a personal thing. I couldn’t even explain it to you because it’s such a gift that I can’t explain it to you. I can only tell as far as a stand up comedian, a comedian’s point of view, I think my timing is sharper. Maybe because of the therapy and the cognitive (therapy) it made me sharper.

AllHipHop.com: What sort of cognitive therapy did you require? Are you still doing it?

Tracy Morgan: A year. I did a year of cognitive therapy. I still do physical therapy but as far as – I still see my psychiatrist from time to time because when you take a bump in the head like that you never know. So I stay on top of it. I stay on top of all of those things.

AllHipHop.com: You’ve talked about how daunting your first scene was in “Fist Fight” seeing as it was the first acting scene you’d ever filmed since your accident. Was there anything that you did to try and prepare yourself for that first day?

Tracy Morgan: Well, I hadn’t been in front of a camera. I hadn’t been part of a cast. Actually that was my first time and Richard Keen allowed me to do that. So you never know until you’re in the mix. So I got in the mix. After a few takes I said, “OK,” and I came through and I relaxed. And it was like, OK, it’s still there.

AllHipHop.com: With the standup that you’ve already done – because you have performed standup since your accident prior to your involvement in “Fist Fight,” was that practice a viable form of preparation for you on this movie and beyond in film?

Tracy Morgan: Yeah, but it’s a different muscle. It’s a different muscle being stretched in doing stand up.

AllHipHop.com: Can you quantify that and explain?

Tracy Morgan: When I do stand up it’s just me. It’s just me. It’s my personal life, my story – it’s me. But when you are in a scene with someone it’s energy being passed back and forth. That’s what acting is. Acting is listening and energy.   So I was able to keep up with everybody and listen because it was such a serious accident.

AllHipHop.com: So you were worried that you wouldn’t be able to bounce off of other people?

Tracy Morgan: Yeah, but I said that when I first did Matt Lauer – those were one of my worries after the accident. I didn’t know how I was going to get back to funny because it was such a traumatic thing in my life. And it scared the s### out of me because I faced death. I look at my wife and my daughter I couldn’t imagine more without them. I couldn’t imagine them with me gone and what they were going to be doing. Once I got over that, months passed by and I got over that. I was able to focus on me because in life there are things that are much more important than show business when it’s life and death. So I had to pick up the pieces and that’s what my tour was about. It was called “Picking Up The Pieces.” And then I did a special that will be out May 16th called “Staying Alive.” Because that was all the things that I was doing. Part of that therapy was “Fist Fight.”

AllHipHop.com: I’ve heard that you have a new project that you are planning to do with Jordan Peele.

Tracy Morgan: Yeah that’s going that’s coming along great. We probably going to shoot early May.

AllHipHop.com: Can you tell me anything about it?

Tracy Morgan: No – I don’t want to jinx it. I’d rather not. (“Fist Fight”) is in the can, so I don’t mind talking about it. I’ve always been like that. I’ve always been like that. I don’t like to talk about nothing that’s not there.

AllHipHop.com: How did you meet Peele?

Tracy Morgan: When I was home for a year and a half in my wheelchair, I would watch “Key & Peele” every day. And then one day after about six or seven months I told my agent I want to work with him. I want to be a part of that comedy. So then I came, I flew out here and I met him. We just started talking.

AllHipHop.com: How did that meeting go?

Tracy Morgan: It went great. Yeah it was funny. It was Jordan Peele and Tracy Morgan and we started talking. He told me I was an inspiration to him when he used to see me at the Uptown Comedy Club and all of that and we have the same sensibilities. So we gonna try to – no we WILL put out a project that’s gonna make your head turn.

AllHipHop.com: I can’t wait to see that. With “Fist Fight,” you were afraid at the start that you might not be able to keep up with bouncing off of the other actors. Is there a scene in “Fist Fight” that you can point to where the light bulb came on and you really felt like you were out of the woods and had hit your stride? Something akin to what you view as your best scene?

Tracy Morgan: No, I don’t feel that way. I just, I felt well… I felt good when I did the thing on the football field.

AllHipHop.com: Which bit on the football field? You had more than one.

Tracy Morgan: When they painted the penis around me and all those things and I started yelling at the students. That’s when I knew I was in character. That was Coach Crawford.

AllHipHop.com: So that would be your favorite scene in your view?

Tracy Morgan: I don’t have a favorite scene. I love the movie. I don’t have a favorite scene. The movie is my masterpiece. Me just getting off doesn’t make it a masterpiece. I mean, I was just funny in the scene. But when it’s a great movie, that’s a masterpiece.

AllHipHop.com: Why did you choose “Fist Fight” as your first movie back? What made it stand out for you?

Tracy Morgan: I didn’t choose it. It chose me. Would you give somebody a chance that just got hit by a Wallmart truck? So I was gracious that Richard Keen believed in me. He chose me. I was basically just come out of a coma. For somebody to say, “yo, I want you in my movie,” that don’t happen. So I’m gracious to Mr. Keen.

AllHipHop.com: So has that resulted in a special bond between yourself and Mr. Keen beyond the movie itself?

Tracy Morgan: Of course it is. He’s the first director to direct somebody out of a coma. He doesn’t realize that. He directed somebody that got hit by a Wallmart truck.

AllHipHop.com: Have you told him that – how important he is to you because of that fact?

Tracy Morgan: No.

AllHipHop.com: Will you tell him?

Tracy Morgan: No. He’ll read it. He has to understand that. He directed someone who was badly injured.

AllHipHop.com: Do you see yourself doing more serious stuff in the future as a result of new perspective that you’ve gained since your accident?

Tracy Morgan: I wouldn’t mind. I wouldn’t mind. That would be another muscle to stretch. When I look at Eddie Murphy in “Mr. Church,” of course. He’s one of my comedic heroes. But now we see Eddie in a different capacity. We see him show chops. Think of the tears.

AllHipHop.com: So what’s your ideal next project that you would like to do?

Tracy Morgan: I don’t know. I don’t want to call it. I might spoil it. God got a plan. I’m going to leave it like that. It’s in his hands.

AllHipHop.com: On the set of “Fist Fight” you made a point of having a lot of heart to heart conversations with the many young actors on the set. What was behind that for you?

Tracy Morgan: I try to be an inspiration to them. Like Martin Lawrence was to me when I was young in the game. Martin Lawrence was an inspiration to me – still is – and I just try to give it back to the youth because they are the next generation.

AllHipHop.com: Is that something that is different since your accident or just what you’ve always done?

Tracy Morgan: No that’s the way that I’ve always been. I was always the type of dude to coach little league. I love being involved. When I was young, I was a coach.

AllHipHop.com: You were a coach?

Tracy Morgan: When I was young I was coaching. Little kids wanted to play football, they got a football suit for Christmas, put a t-shirt over some shoulder pads. I wasn’t just playing. It was running around the field jogging them. I had them doing jumping jacks, coached. Now it’s just like love. You can’t do nothing with it but pass it on.

AllHipHop.com: Is there something specific that you would like to say to young comics out there starting in the game or young people period that might be going through something difficult?

Tracy Morgan: Keep on trucking. Whatever decision you make in your life from this point on, base it on your family. When you do that it’s always the right decision. What would my parents think of me if I did this? What would my brother or sister think of me if I did this? No thank you. Keep it moving.

AllHipHop.com: How do you feel about the current political climate?

Tracy Morgan: I don’t feel. I’m down with the King. I’m down with the King.

AllHipHop.com: I’m sorry – what do you mean by that?

Tracy Morgan: I’m down with the King, baby (indicates a necklace he is wearing with Jesus on it).

AllHipHop.com: I got you. Okay.

Tracy Morgan: No. I don’t believe. I know. The King. You can have your president, your congress and all that other crap. When your room is ready, your room is ready. I know. I faced death. I was in a coma for ten days on the other side. I love you-just because. And when you down with the King, that’s it. Politics to me is a pile of tricks.

AllHipHop.com: Is there anything that you remember from when you were on the other side?

Tracy Morgan: You don’t want to remember. I don’t remember getting hit. I don’t remember none of that.

AllHipHop.com: But you talk about how you have experienced death. So what was that experience?

Tracy Morgan: Yeah of course. You know, I was in a coma for ten days. You’re knocking on the door.

AllHipHop.com: What was going on then when you were knocking?

Tracy Morgan: I don’t know. That’s none of my business. It was swollen. I remember visions of being in and out of the coma. They had me highly sedated. Because my femur was in little pieces. I remember one time, I think I was in a coma, I don’t know, being at a party.

AllHipHop.com: A party?

Tracy Morgan: Richard Pryor was there and Jackie Gleason was there and Lucille Ball was there and my father was there. And then God came and said it’s time to go back. I looked at Richard and I was crying. He winked at me and said, “stay funny.”

AllHipHop.com: Wow.

Tracy Morgan: I’m down with The King. I remember one time my psychiatrist telling me the two biggest car crashes in the world ever was yours and Princess Diana’s.

“Fist Fight,” starring Ice Cube, Charlie Day, Tracy Morgan and Jillian Bell opens in theatres nationwide on February 17, 2017.

9X Grammy Award Winning Super Producer Bryan Michael Cox & Toyota Honor Veteran & Emerging Artists At Grammy Brunch

9X Grammy Award-winning super producer, songwriter, and musician Bryan Michael Cox hosted his annual “Breakfast Club” Grammy brunch at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.

Some of music’s elite and rising stars gathered hours before the Grammys for party and purpose as Cox once again honored music legends and emerging stars who have made incredible impacts on music.

Cox’s “Breakfast Club” brunch was once again powered by Toyota with a mission to not only honor groundbreakers, but also to support and celebrate the mission and work of the Music & Memory organization. Music & Memory is a non-profit committed to helping people overcome cognitive and physical challenges through music, and in support of the organization’s work, Toyota presented a $10k grant to the organization during the event.

This year the “Breakfast Club” brunch honored one of the architects of neo-soul, R&B singer Maxwell, and veteran songwriter, Siedah Garrett, who co-wrote Michael Jackson’s hit song “Man In The Mirror”. Veteran journalist Sway Calloway brought his special touch to the event as he held down the Toyota red carpet.

Maxwell and Sideah joined the all-star list of previous honorees that includes Sean “Diddy” Combs, Swizz Beatz, Jon Platt, Chris Hicks, DJ Khaled, and more.

Bryan Micahel Cox, Maxwell & Siedah all got a chance to reflect on Maxwell and Garrett’s influence and impact on music. Garrett also revealed that she has been the voice of Toyota in their commercials for years.

Cox shared touching anecdotes about the first time he heard the music from both, and Maxwell encouraged young singer-songwriters to think about longevity and creating timeless and classic music that they would be proud to perform at age 50.

Emerging singer-songwriter Guordan Banks was also given an honorable mention as his story of using music to overcome a speech impediment as a child was shared. Bank’s story was a true testament to the power of music, and how it connects us all.

Bryan Michael Cox took a moment to share with AllHipHop’s Rea Davis, the importance of his annual Grammy Weekend brunch.

“The importance of this brunch is really to give to the people that I care about. The musicians, the talent, the creatives, the songwriters, the producers, the artists. That’s really why I started this brunch, and it really just gets bigger and better. I’m super proud of this event; I’m just happy. My fondest Grammy memory is probably, I mean I won 9, but the won I won for Mary {J. Blige]. Mary embraced me in a way that a lot of artists [hadn’t]. A lot of times artists..if you aren’t the super producer in the video talking on the record [jokes], a lot of times, you get forgotten. Mary made sure that me and Johnta [Austin] didn’t get forgotten,” said Cox.

Congrats B. Cox on all of your success!

(AllHipHop News) Michael Jackson continues to justify why he gained the title “The King of Pop,” eight years after his death at the age of 50.

Michael Jackson’s landmark album Thriller has just been certified as the first album in history to earn 33x Diamonds.

That means the record has sold 33 million copies and streams, making it the best-selling release in history.

“Thirty-five years later, Michael Jackson’s Thriller remains as timeless and iconic as ever,” said Cary Sherman, Chairman, and CEO, Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). “Thriller has now become the first and only album to achieve an RIAA 33X Diamond Award, a moment forever etched in Gold & Platinum Program history. Will Angie Martinez Finally Release The Full Version Of Her Famous 2Pac Interview?

(AllHipHop News) Angie Martinez wrote about her now-famous 1990’s era interview with Tupac Shakur in her best-selling memoir My Voice.

The question still remains if the legendary radio personality will ever let the world hear the full 2-hour audio from that conversation.

Martinez addressed the likeliness of that Q&A coming to light during an “Ask Me Anything” session on Reddit.

She responded:

Of course this is the first question. I really wish I had an answer for you. I was working on trying to get in touch with his mother before she passed to ask her if she had any ideas of what she would want to do with it, just out of respect and unfortunately, she passed and I just haven’t really figured out a plan of action, since then, but I do know that people really want to hear it. It is my intention, at some point, to put it out. I just want to make sure that it’s done in the best way, most respectful way possible.

The Pac interview has been kept in the vaults because Martinez felt it could have upset some of his rap peers.

At the time, the tension between West Coast and East Coast rappers was at a high, and Martinez did not want to add to the possible hostility involving Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., and others.

Martinez’s AMA also included a Reddit user asking the Power 105 host if she still had a cigarette pack she took from 2Pac during their interview.

The native New Yorker stated:

I totally do have it. It is in a storage box in my storage room. There’s like two cigarettes in it. And yeah, it’s weird, I find little things here and there. Like, I have Eazy-E’s business card that he gave me at an event once. I found that recently. And not even just in my career, like I literally have a pin that just says Champs, when I used to work at Champs. It’s like my employee pin. It says, Angie. I have that. So yeah, I’m not necessarily a packrat, but I do have four bins of like things that are pretty cool to have. Just like laminates from all the events and things like that. Yeah, a ton. I have a ton of stuff. I found you know those little cards that come with the flowers when you get flowers in the mail? I found a card from Damon Dash that said “Sorry – Damon Dash”, so I don’t know exactly what he was apologizing for, but it must of came with some flowers in a bottle or something. I just found that not too long ago, which was pretty cool.

Did Kanye West Ban Media From His Yeezy Season 5 Fashion Show?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Apparently Yeezy Yeezy is not here for the press right now.

When celebs and event planners want to keep things low profile they ban media from covering the event sometimes.

Apparently Ye’s Yeezy Season 5 reveal was a bit different than his past NYFW shows.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to ET, West has calmed down tremendously following his hospitalization, but he’s still been concentrating heavily on the fashion show.

You probably noticed that you didn’t hear much about the show this year, and very little media coverage as Ye reportedly had that guest list on LOCK!.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“His main focus is making this collection great, having his close friends and family there, and have the buyer have the most positive experience,” said an insider.

Ye’s Yeezy Season 4 reveal was reportedly a disaster with models being dehydrated and being unable to walk in uncomfortable shoes. Oh yeah, it started an hour late in 90 degree weather also.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This time Yeezy opted to show the world his new collection without the media present. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“They don’t want another element to make more drama. The last fashion show on Roosevelt Island was a disaster, and the media made it even worse. They’ve learned they don’t need the media to make it even bigger. His focus is on getting the fashion community to accept the line and his creations. He is just focused on production elements of the actual show right now,” said an inside source.

Well those who were “lucky” enough to get an invite, did get a copy of the Yeezy Season magazine as well as a t-shirt with the words “Lost Hills” on it.

With or without media, if something crazy goes down Yeezy, best believe it’s going to get leaked immediately. LOL.

I just want more out of Ye’s line. His line is something I’d expect from a mumble rapper to be honest.

Russell Simmons Says Anyone Who “Isn’t A White Male” Is A Risk Ahead Of Massive Pro-Muslim Rally

(AllHipHop News) Thousands of people of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds will join Russell Simmons, and a mixture of religious leaders on Sunday (February 19), to protest Donald Trump’s “Muslim Ban” to show solidarity with people who follow Islam.

Russell Simmons and longtime associate Rabbi Mark Schneier, who head up the Foundation For Ethnic Understanding (FFEU), will host over 50 organizations at the second “Today, I Am A Muslim Too” rally.

According to Russell Simmons, anyone who is not a white male is in danger under President Donald Trump’s administration.

“African-Americans, women, Latinos, Asians and LGBTQ are all at risk, but there is no freedom in that privileged status either because the spirit of the oppressor is oppressed as well. We are living in a time when unity will make America great. This is a special moment for all Americans of good will to band together to promote the kind of compassion and equality for others that we want for ourselves,” said Russell Simmons Chairman of the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding.

Rabbi Schneier said he was profoundly inspired by the worldwide demonstrations over the travel ban following the infamous executive order, which was ultimately blocked by the Supreme Court.

“We need to come together again, in the heart of Times Square, people of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds,” said Schnier who organized the first “Today, I Am A Muslim Rally Too,” which drew over 5,000 people in 2010.

The rally is scheduled to take place from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM in Times Square, at the corner of 48th St. and Broadway.

Roy Jones Jr. Talks Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor And MMA vs Boxing

(AllHipHop Features) Boxing and MMA have become fierce rivals in recent years and the combat sports don’t see any waning in the competition. Future boxing Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr is set to fight this weekend in Wilmington, DE and he is not holding anything back. Jones, a Pensacola-bred, is fighting a man that specializes in bare-knuckle brawls. AllHipHop’s Chuck Creekmur talked to the 48-year old living legend about his views on Floyd Mayweather’s prospective fight with UFC’s Conor McGregor and the general state of boxing vs MMA.

AllHipHop.com: When you retire from the sport of boxing. How do you want to be remember?

Roy Jones Jr: I was a man off my word. When the opportunity came, I did exactly what I said I was gonna do. That’s the only reason I am fighting. Everybody says, “Ahhh, you should quit.” I told that man (Bobby Gunn) if the opportunity ever came up that we were gonna fight, we gonna fight.

AllHipHop.com: We mentioned Floyd Mayweather. It looks like they are going to make this fight with MMA fighter Conor McGregor. It is gonna be “a thing” for the people, but I think its going to be easy work for Floyd. Do you have any thoughts on that?

Roy Jones Jr: (Laughs) It is a big event. We must admit that. I’m not going to say its not a big event, but if people think Conor McGregor, (an MMA fighter) with no true boxing background is gonna beat Floyd Mayweather, they are out they’re minds. We’re going to watch it, because its an enormous event…not because Conor has a chance. They don’t call Floyd Mayweather one of the greatest fighters ever for nothing. People need to get that understood.

AllHipHop.com: You fought an MMA dude last year, I think.

Roy Jones Jr: I sure did.

AllHipHop.com: You lit him up.

Roy Jones Jr: What else did he expect? That’s what we do. If we go to MMA…if Floyd goes in there with Conor McGregor (and does) MMA, Conor McGregor is gonna beat the hell outta Floyd. That’s what Conor McGregor does. But if Colin gets in that ring, he’s got another thing coming. Its not gonna happen.

EXCLUSIVE: Fighter Roy Jones Jr. Is Back For Boxing, Bars And Brawls

AllHipHop.com: And boxing, lets be real, we don’t see the same star power as people like yourself. Floyd almost seems like the last of this breed. The personality aspect of it. Do you feel its the same? What can boxing do to come back in the eyes of the average consumer, not guys like us.

Roy Jones Jr: We are in the microwave era. When I say that, I mean we want everything to happen quick. If we don’t have quick and right away, we don’t want to take the time or put in the time. When I came up and when Floyd came up, if you had been boxing for a year, there was nobody, nowhere that thought anything of you. Nobody was gonna become a champion in boxing in a year. That was not gonna happen in our day and time. That’s how different the skill was. Nowadays, it don’t take but 2-3 fights (in boxing) and 1 fight in the UFC, and you can be world champion. Its like the microwave era, used to having things quick.

Now, somebody (MMA fighter) that wouldn’t have been nobody as a boxer, because it took too long for them to develop or learn the whole skill. But now you put a few skills together, you do some Jiujitsu or whatever, some wrestling, put all that together and you can be champion in a couple months. Its really not how we were raised. Its not happening just in boxing – all sports. Now you can play against one team all the way until the semi finals and you can (join other opposing team) the next year and everybody is OK with it. Back in the day, we would have never thought Magic Johnson would go play with Michael Jordan. We would have never thought Julius (Dr. J) Irving would go play with Magic Johnson. No! That was not gonna happen. We didn’t have to worry about that. That was not even a fear. Nowadays, that can happen and we might be ok with it. Not just boxing, all sports have been watered down.

AllHipHop.com: Right.

Roy Jones Jr: We live in it, but we don’t have to conform to it. I’m still me. I’m a fighter. I don’t got no fans. I fight for a living. I don’t care who it is. They want it, they can get it. That’s what Roy Jones knows. That’s all I’m gonna ever know. You want it? Come and get it. I got it for you.

AllHipHop.com: Aiiiiiight! We’ll be there for the fight, Roy. We appreciate you and love you, man and salute.

Roy Jones Jr: Thank you, appreciate it.

Killa Cam Was Ready! Cam’ron & Joe Budden Have A Big Misunderstanding!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Uh oh! So apparently Joe Budden weighed in on the tension between Dipset’s Cam’ron and Jim Jones during his recent -I’ll Name This Podcast Later’ segment.

Budden addressed Cam’ron saying he copyrighted the name “ByrdGang” without consulting Jim Jones first. As you know, ByrdGang was a rap collective formed by Jones in 2006. Cam always claimed that he felt it was a spinoff of Dipset though. Budden decided to let it be known how he felt about the situation.

“Dog, when he said, ‘You told me you wasn’t doin’ nothing with ByrdGang, so I copyrighted it,’ I would’ve f***ed him up — immediately! I’m f-cking you up, I don’t care if you’re my brother. I don’t understand that.” said Budden.

As you know, Killa Cam is always ready for a clap back, so he caught wind of it all and had something to say!

Word got back to Cam and of course the fade was offered up to Budden via an Instagram post.

“Somebody wake Joey up.. Cause he ain’t gonna open my Dm.. Despite what people think.. I got genuine love for capo. We know each other’s families.. It would never go there. (Not on my end) but u.. U can’t afford these problems.. U think ransom was at ya door..,” said Cam.

Welp apparently Budden called Cam quickly, because Cam took down the original post and replaced it with a video of Budden’s girl, Cyn Santana, rapping “Suck It Or Not”, and said that he apologizes for “jumping the gun.” LOL!

Woman Arrested For Harassing Sean “Diddy” Combs Says She Was Recruited By The Devil

(AllHipHop News) A woman in Florida who pretended to be the fiancé of Sean “Diddy” Combs, was recently busted for insisting she was assaulted and beaten by the business mogul.

An insane series of incidents started unfolding in Miami Beach, Florida last month, after Jermelah Jones made several 911 calls, claiming Diddy’s own family was holding him captive and assaulting him.

Jones made her initial calls to 911 on January 23, alleging that she was Diddy’s fiancé and that he had been taken hostage.

When police responded to Diddy’s estate in Miami, his relatives answered the door and stated the hip-hop mogul was fine and sound asleep, cuddled snugly in his bed.

Diddy also told police he was not engaged to Jones and had never even met the woman before in his life.

Jones’ behavior intensified in early February when she made more 911 calls to the cops, who told Jones she would be charged with a crime if her antics did not come to a halt.

She eventually showed up at Diddy’s house and attempted to get inside. Cops tracked Jones down and charged her with making false statements to law enforcement officers.

According to reports, Jones told police she had been “recruited by the devil and his people.”

Migos’ Offset and Takeoff Make Power Move With New Global Publishing Deals

(AllHipHop News) Rappers Takeoff and Offset from hit rap group The Migos made a significant business move this week when they entered into a worldwide publishing deal with Reservoir Media.

Reservoir’s Faith Newman signed the pair to a worldwide contract, which will cover the administration of their entire catalog.

The deal will place Migos’ music in movies, TV shows, films and other avenues, with the intention of maximizing their earnings beyond traditional music channels.

“Migos is without a doubt the hottest hip-hop group in the game right now,” Reservoir SVP of A&R and Catalog Development Faith Newman told AllHipHop.com.

“I can’t wait to work with Takeoff and Offset to help them capitalize on their huge success,” added Newman, who brought the rappers to the roster.

Some of the achievements over the past three years for The Migos includes creating hit singles like “Look At My Dab,” which went viral when Cam Newton helped popularized “the dab,” in addition to their song “Versace” with the Drake.

The Migos latest chart victory came thanks to their song “Bad & Boujee,” which shot to #1 on the charts, just like their latest album CULTURE.

Migos joins Reservoir’s growing Hip-Hop roster, which includes Nate “Danja” Hills, Statik Selektah, 2 Chainz, Joey Bada$$, and others.

Adele Doesn’t Love Beyonce As Much As She Claims!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Adele seemed to win over some and get the side-eye from others while seemingly dedicating her Album Of The Year Grammy win to Beyonce in light of Beyonce’s snub for the very same award.

While Adele has claimed for sometime to be a dues-paying card-holding member of the Beyhive, it seems like she doesn’t love Beyonce as much as she says she does.

Adele gave an eyebrow-raising performance in the George Michael tribute at the 2017 Grammys. The tribute wasn’t stellar, and home girl was off key a time or two, but it was a “most talked about” performance because Adele restarted the performance midway through it.

Welp it looks like we will be talking about it for a new reason today! According to Billboard, the tribute wasn’t supposed to be a solo performance, Beyoncé and Rihanna were going to also be a part, until Adele shut it down.

Apparently George Michael’s family didn’t want a tribute initially, but when they finally gave in, Adele was their only option.

Adele claims that the family was very specific that it be her in the tribute, but Michael’s manager actually wanted RiRi, Bey, and James Corden to celebrate different George Michael songs from different eras since Corden launched his “Carpool Karaoke” series with Michael in the passenger side!

Apparently Adele “knew” exactly what she wanted to do with the tribute, and it sounds like: be selfish to me! Wouldn’t you have rather seen all of them in the tribute!
