(AllHipHop News) Pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli could be facing a serious lawsuit, after allegedly leaking a track from Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated, unreleased album Tha Carter V.
Shkreli hit Periscope earlier today, where he previewed a track from Lil Wayne’s unreleased album, which he claimed was about him.
Lil Wayne’s camp has supposedly opened an investigation into how Shkreli obtained the unreleased material.
Shkreli hit the headlines last month as well, when he previewed tracks from the unreleased Wu Tang Clan album Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, which he purchased for $2 million.
He had promised Wu Tang Clan fans that he would debut the album if Trump won the presidential elections, and he kept his word.
His latest move, however is unauthorized and could have him at the center of a lawsuit from Universal Music Group/Young Money/Cash Money Records.
In December of 2015, Martin Shkreli was indicted for securities fraud charges,
(AllHipHop Lifestyle) Viola Davis is a master and she brings almost all that she is as a thespian to “Fences,” based on the award-winning August Wilson play of the same name. The movie, set in the 50’s, chronicles an a seemingly ordinary American family in Pittsburgh. After a few minutes, it is apparent that the complexities and layers of The Maxson Family are anything but ordinary. As Rose the matriarch, Davis presents a character that is able to shoulder the massive weight and responsibility of guiding a family, where as Troy (Denzel Washington) falls short. She holds nothing back. “I’ve been standing with you,” Rose screams to Troy. “I give 18 years of my life to stand in the same spot as you!” The movie examines the relationship between father and song, husband and wife and family and life. There is something here for everybody. Moreover, “Fences” realigns the African American experience with the fabric of the country consciousness.
Chuck Creekmur talked to Viola Davis on the red carpet on the red carpet at the New York premiere of “Fences.”
AllHipHop.com: AllHipHop.com. Viola Davis, the master. I have to ask you about this movie and what it means to you and the broader audience, as well, as a body of work, as a film.
Viola Davis: What it means is bringing August’s work to a wider audience. He had a vision to chronicle every decade of life for African Americans in a century, American century cycle, and he did that before he died in 2005. His final vision was to see Fences brought to screen. He didn’t make it to see that, but it’s been done.
Yes.
Viola Davis: I have to believe that he, somewhere, is seeing this and seeing the impact it has on everyone’s life, because his gift to the writing world is the equivalent of Arthur Miller, Eugene O’Neill, Edward Albee, Tennessee Williams, because what he writes about is the human condition. He writes about the anti-hero, who is Troy, who is the center of his world and doesn’t know it. He writes about uplifting the average, that average man, the janitor at the McDonald’s, and he honors that life that, otherwise, would be invisible. I think people need to see that.
Absolutely. This is a year where Black women and Black girls are completely celebrated, I mean, everything from Serena [Williams] to Lupita [Nyong’o], et cetera, et cetera, and yourself, as well. Is there anything you would like to tell young women or young girls as a form of encouragement or advice?
Viola Davis: Yeah. You deserve it. That’s what, and you know, that’s a blanketed statement. However you interpret it, you deserve it. What kind of relationship? “Ah. This the kind of relationship I wa-.” Well, that’s because you deserve it. How do you see your life? What is your vision for your life? “Oh, it’s … My vision is this and that, but …” No, you deserve it. When you walk into a room, you’re pitching something, a idea to Hollywood, but “Ah. I don’t know if they’re gonna say …” You deserve it. You deserve it all. That’s what I will say to them.
Last but not least, I’m a comic nerd. I’ve seen you in DC Comics’ Suicide Squad.
Viola Davis: Yeah. Amanda Waller.
Do you have any tidbits you might want to share with us that may come to fruition later on?
Viola Davis: Absolutely not. I haven’t heard anything. All I [inaudible 00:02:36]. Listen. I had fun playing the bad woman. I’m serious. I absolutely loved it. I thought it was a great exercise, and I love having that gun.
With over 100k views on YouTube, I’m From Long Beach, organically cycled across the web. Not bad for indie emcee, P-Nice, who enlisted west coast legend, Tray Deee, for his first official single. The video captures the essence of the LBC, with other featured guests $tupid Young and Zaire Akeem. Don’t end this year, without checking out this classic Cali video.
(AllHipHop Lifestyle) Critical acclaim for the movie “Fences,” from Paramount Pictures, starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis is incredibly strong. Already having won a total of 17 awards and nominated for an additional 25, the pressure would seem to be off for “Fences” director and lead actor Denzel Washington, but in speaking with him, nothing could be further from the truth.
“ The reception has been tremendous critically,” said Washington on the early African American grassroots response, fueled by many strategic early screenings, but will it be enough to boost overall ticket sales come December 25th? For Washington, “Fences” has long been about having the proverbial “back” of African American playwright August Wilson, who wrote the original “Fences” as the last of ten connected plays before his death in 2005. For Denzel as a motivated producer with a nine picture deal from paramount, “Fences” real success lives and dies in it’s final box office returns. “This is a fifteen year project of mine,” stated Washington, adding emphatically: “I’m going to take care of August Wilson and nothing is going to get in my way.”
To that task, while Denzel revels in the fact that “Fences” has a universal appeal, with one viewer in Poland believing that August Wilson was “Polish” due to “Fences” winning portrayal of father son issues, when it comes to the Oscar Award Winning actor’s vision for the film, his desires are decidedly more specific.
“I have a nine picture deal to produce the other nine films. But if this one is not a success then we (black Americans) can’t talk about what roles are. In the nine plays that I’m producing there’s at least 100 or 150 (African American) roles or whatever. And we can’t complain about a lack of roles when there’s roles from one of the greatest writers in American history ready to go,” stated Washington of Wilson, adding with no small degree of exasperation: “it’s called show business. It oughta be called business dough because the next show will be predicated and determined by the business we do here.”
August Wilson wrote the original “Fences” as the last installment in a series of ten plays called “The Pittsburgh Cycle” with each play in the cycle dramatizing the triumphs and difficulties of being born Black in America on a decade by decade basis. It is Washington’s dream to see all of the plays in the cycle realized via his production shingle. Before Wilson died, mainstream Hollywood approached him about adapting “Fences” as a movie, but Wilson famously declined stating that the play could not be given it’s proper due by a director who was not of African American ancestry. “I declined a white director not on the basis of race but on the basis of culture, “ explained Wilson before his death, continuing: “ White directors are not qualified for the job. The job requires someone who shares the specifics of the culture of black Americans.”
In respect of this strong belief in cultural authenticity, Washington insisted on “Fences” being shot in the backyard of Wilson’s literal childhood community. “It was like being home for me,” said Washington of his colorful and intimate Pittsburgh experience. “ Mr. Greenlee, who lived behind us and couldn’t hear, he always wanted to make coffee for me. A woman on the corner made her house – she was watching me – she made her house a quiet place of prayer for me and I would go in there when things were just getting overwhelming, ” stated Washington, adding: “ some folks would just come out with their lawn chairs like they were watching television. They didn’t want to miss anything.”
However while the local population went out of their way to support Washington, they also never let him forget his responsibility to get the portrayal right and to make it count: “ There was one woman in particular, even before we started shooting,” said Washington. “I met her and I came out and I said “oh, you know, thank you for coming out,” and she said ‘we’ve been watching you for a long time.’ I said, ‘well pray for me,’ and she said, ‘Denzel, I’ve been praying for you for 35 years, my family and I.’ She said, ‘We’ve been watching you. We know how hard it is,’ remembered Washington adding ruefully, “you just never know – I even remember my mother saying that. ‘You just never know who’s praying for you.’ But I needed all those prayers and I needed all of that support. Well we all( the whole cast and crew) needed it.”
Lastly, Washington made no bones this week about the importance of buying a ticket come Christmas day and making it clear to Hollywood and the greater world community that something larger is at stake if “Fences” continues to grow only as a critical hit versus a financial one.
“it’s not for me. It’s not just for me. But we can’t complain about what’s not being done if we don’t show up….not only is it important for us to go out and support because it’s a good story – and I’m not just saying it because I directed it – but it’s important for us to go out and support so that we can continue to tell all of his stories.”
As a larger point on controlling who we are and how our different stories can be told better, I think that most all Americans can agree that Washington has a very very good point.
“Fences” starring Denzel Washington, Viola Davis, Mykelti Williamson and Jovan Adepo opens in theaters nationwide on December 25, 2016.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Well kids, it looks like Omeeka is still going strong!
Rumors have been swirling that Nicki Minaj called it off with her boo Meek Mill. Apparently all that talk proved to be just a rumor indeed as the two have been said to still be going strong.
According to TheJasmineBrand, the reports of Meek Mill allegedly creeping with a Philly based boutique owner were also completely false!
An insider has revealed some key information about their relationship.
“They have issues just like every other couple, but they’re STILL together. She’s not focused on the rumors especially when it’s no truth to them. She’s been laying low. Nicki’s actually in the studio recording,” said the insider.
It sounds to me that they probably did take a break, but they decided to get right back together and have to clean this drama up somehow. Meek better not mess up with Nicki; she’s the best thing he’s got!
(AllHipHop Rumors) TBH most people have had sex in some of the most randomest yes randomest places. With that said, get in on your favorite couple KyGa.
We still believe that one day a sex tape will hit the net of Tyga and Kylie Jenner, but before it does, it looks like there’s something brief already out.
I don’t think a lot of people would want to see Tyga and his sugar mama get it in, but then again people have a fascination with Kylie and the Kardashian-Jenner Klan so, then again millions will watch.
Anyway, there appears to be some grainy footage of Tyga and Kylie getting it in a what appears to be a public rest room.
The video appears to be a light “sex tape” that appears to show Kylie with the good conrows, “riding” the Adidas-sporting Tyga. We don’t know if it’s real or not, but hey, sometimes you just have to get it in spontaneously.
Now the problem is the footage is crazy, and this isn’t exactly the best “match up”. The footage is grainy, and to be honest every girl seems to be trying to look like Kylie and Kim Kardashian these days.
Click HERE to take a look! Do you think it’s Kylie?
(AllHipHop Rumors) Uh Oh! Champagne Papi Drake must be giving Jennifer Lopez that good good; that act right!
Apparently Jenny from the block is ditching her own New Year’s Eve plans to party alongside the 6 God.
According to PageSix, J. Lo bailed on her NYE gig at Miami’s own E11even nightclub because she rather spend time with Drake.
“He will be in Vegas and she wants to hang out with him,” a insider told Page Six.
Of course J. Lo is blaming the cancelled gig on her taking personal time for her friends and family, but this has Drake time written all over it, especially since the two have been getting pretty cozy at places like Delilah, and during Lopez’s Vegas residency shows.
According to J. Lo’s rep, Drizzy and Jenn are spending the time together to solely create music. How long do you think they will last? Who else do you think Drake still has in the picture? Do you think they can crank out a hit?
(AllHipHop News) As the country prepares for a new president to take office, some citizens are starting to reflect on the current POTUS Barack Obama.
Hip Hop legend Nas spoke to Revolt about racism playing a part in the pushback against Obama’s tenure in the White House.
“I couldn’t imagine that people haven’t changed since decades ago. The whole world is now experiencing again what happened in the 60’s,” stated the Queens emcee. “It’s a lot to do with Barack being in office, racists who don’t like him in office. It’s a reaction to it. It happens when things change in this country.”
Nas added, “When Barack got in office, things just happened, just triggered off. The racists – they can’t handle it. They’re going too far. It’s like we need a healing to come and re-educate people about how to deal with each other in the world.”
The creator of five #1 albums went on to suggest celebrities should look to people like Muhammad Ali as an example on how to effectively bring people together.
Nas also called on supporters of law enforcement to play a role in holding officers accountable for police brutality and excessive force.
(AllHipHop Lifestyle) Sometimes the key to starting a revolution big is simply getting the word out that you aren’t the first to have dared to think differently. Certainly this was the case for Taraji Henson when she first got wind of her new movie, “Hidden Figures.” Like most Americans, Taraji had no idea that black women had anything to do with the dawn of space travel in the U.S. – let alone being key to the dizzying mathematics that made it possible for NASA to beat the Russians when it came to putting astronauts into space.
“I knew nothing about it. I was a little upset because had I known about these women, maybe I would have dreamed or aspired to be a rocket scientist,” ruminated the actress known and beloved to many as the brash and hard as nails Cookie Lyon on Fox television’s “Empire.” “ I didn’t think I could dream like that. I didn’t know that that dream was available for someone like me,” said Henson of the role that she is now playing which is generating some serious Oscar buzz.
“Hidden Figures,” which opens on Christmas day, is based on the true story of master mathematician Katherine Johnson and other black women mathematicians who helped America win the space race as “human computers” who crunched numbers and in the case of Johnson, discovered new forms of mathematics key to NASA’s success in being the first country to ever send astronauts into space.
For Henson, the opportunity to play the real life mathematician Johnson was as daunting as it was exciting. “Katherine Johnson scared the hell out of me,” admits Henson, on the subject of being believable as a once in a lifetime unsung genius. “ Math gives me- I break out in hives,” confides Henson with a shudder, adding: “It reminds me of failure.”
Nevertheless, it was a welcome challenge to portray strength of a different nature from that which most of her fans are used to seeing on “Empire,” which had it’s dramatic season three fall finale last week.
“(Katherine)’s strong in a different light,” said Henson, continuing: “Cookie’s strong because she’s very outspoken. Katherine’s outspoken, but in a quiet way. It’s her mind. It’s her mind that is brilliant. People that are really brilliant, they don’t say a lot. But when they speak. They have something important and powerful to say.”
Much in this understated manner, Henson hopes that “Hidden Figures” will be a powerful way of letting black girls, and people of all colors, orientations and social backgrounds know that genius and the power to affect positive change isn’t limited to one physical package or hackneyed notion of intellect. “I don’t care if you have a purple horn growing out of your head. Can you do the job? And that’s the message that this movie is showing,” concludes Henson with aplomb.
“Hidden Figures,” starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monae and Kevin Costner opens in theaters nationwide on December 25, 2016.

“Franca Sozzani was always so nice and sincere,” West wrote beside a black and white photograph of the editor. “You will be deeply missed.”
Sozzani and West met at the Dream For Future Africa Foundation event in Beverly Hills, California in 2013, when they discussed plans for a joint venture.

(AllHipHop Rumors) As you know over the years LL Cool J & Tupac definitely had their issues with each other. The two rappers certainly didn’t see eye-to eye a time or two.
Fans have started a discussion by revisiting their past issues with each other recently as rumor have hit that lately LL Cool J has been in his feelings as Tupac indeed has been selected as a 2017 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee, before LL himself.
In the past Pac and LL had didn’t get along because of LL’s “I Shot Ya” record.
Remember even Tupac grew suspicious of LL and Keith Murray once “I Shot Ya” dropped months after Pac was shot at Quad Recording Studios. Murray has previously revealed that Pac even questioned him about the subject matter of the song.
The two allegedly also had beef over both dating Kidada Jones, and Tupac saying he was going to “kill” the east coast.
While LL has remained mum on the subject of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, Chuck D surely let it be known that he felt that LL should precede PAC as an inductee since LL burst onto the scene in the mid-1980s, with multi-platinum and multi-era success ahead of Pac’s career.
We have no idea if LL is really in his feeling over Pac getting inducted first, but if he is, do you believe he has the right to be?!
(AllHipHop Rumors) Young Thug has been all in the news for all the wrong reasons. He allegedly and rumor-ly got arrested in Lennox Mall. The reasons are unknown at the time of this writing. There was a brief video posted and some dude yelling that the man was hoping to arrest Young Thug.
