Russell Simmons Denies Five More Allegations Of Sexual Misconduct

(AllHipHop News) Music mogul Russell Simmons has denied allegations of sexual misconduct made by five women in the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday (December 13).

The Def Jam Recordings co-founder recently stepped down from his companies after former model Keri Claussen Khalighi and screenwriter Jenny Lumet accused him of sexual assault in November.

On Wednesday, the New York Times published accounts from four women, three of which accused Simmons of rape, while the Los Angeles Times published stories by five other women, who have accused him of sexual misconduct.

Sherri Hines, also known as Sheri Sher, from hip-hop group Mercedes Ladies, alleged that Simmons raped her in his office around 1983, while Lisa Kirk said he followed her into the women’s restroom at a nightclub in New York around 1988, pushed her into a stall and began to take out his penis, but he ran out of the bathroom after she caught his eye.

Actress Natashia Williams-Blach, who appeared in a Simmons-produced film, How to Be a Player, said Simmons tried to force her to perform oral sex on him after they went to a yoga class in 1996, massage therapist Erin Beattie alleged he exposed himself and asked her to touch his penis while she was giving him a massage in his hotel room, and “Insecure” actress Amanda Seales said he used vulgar language to ask if they ever had sex during a meeting in 2016.

The music mogul has vehemently denied all the claims in the story in a statement, which reads, “These new stories range from the patently untrue to frivolous and hurtful claims… I want to restate categorically what I have said previously: I have never been violent or abusive to any women in any way at any time in my entire life.”

He also posted a note on Instagram, which read, “I have never had a sexual encounter that was not consensual or lawful. Ever.” He shared his full statement, in which he said he was devastated by the claims which have “shocked me to my core.”

“What I will not accept is responsibility for what I have not done,” he wrote. “I will relentlessly fight against any untruthful character assassination that paints me as a man of violence.”

Eve’s Husband Told Her His Father Didn’t Like Black People

(AllHipHop Rumors) I think Eve is certainly here to stay on ‘The Talk’.

The Philly rapper-turned-actress-turned television host has certainly been keeping folks entertained from her comments on Nicki Minaj’s risque cover and a story about some mystery fellow female emcee trying to steal her shine.

Now Eve is back with another personal story.

E-V-E recently reflected on the early days of dating her husband, Maximillion Cooper, and while doing so, she shared a pretty interesting story.

During a recent episode of ‘The Talk’, Eve gave her reaction to model Ashley Graham’s grandmother racistly reacting to her black boyfriend.

Eve revealed that when she was going to meet Max’s parents he told her that he doesn’t like black people…….but it was all a huge joke on Eve.

“When my husband and I first started dating, I was going to meet his parents and he thought it would be funny to tell me that his dad didn’t like black people. He was kidding,” said Eve.

According to Eve, her husband has a sick sense of humor.

“You have to know my husband, he thinks stuff like this is funny and it was funny, because his parents are amazing and beautiful. But he did tell me that and I was terrified. I was like, ‘How could you not prepare them, what did you say, why couldn’t you tell them?,’ and then I got there and they were amazing, but I was so stressed out,” added Eve.

I could only imagine how stressed out Eve was. Thankfully his parents weren’t really racist. Carry on.

Future Settles Legal Battle With Rocko

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Future has agreed to settle an 18-month legal spat with his producer, Rocko.

The hitmaker sued his former pal after claiming the rapper struck a side deal with Epic Records that cut Rocko out of millions.

Future countersued, insisting his deal with Rocko was never exclusive.

But the Christmas spirit seems to have showered the “Mask Off” rapper with goodwill – the producer claims the legal battle is over and his old friend has agreed to pay up.

Both sides have requested a dismissal of the case, according to TMZ, and the original plaintiff’s lawyers tell the outlet their client is happy with the “very successful result.”

It is not clear what the settlement fee is, but Rocko was originally seeking $10 million.

Quavo Gives Old High School Team LeBron 15’s

(AllHipHop News) Migos star Quavo has given his old high school’s basketball team an early Christmas gift by handing the players exclusive Lebron 15s footwear.

The rapper turned up at Berkmar High School in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia for a basketball practice in a flashy white Lamborghini and met up with the players before handing out sneakers in the dressing room.

Basketball ace LeBron James – the inspiration for the 15s – was impressed by Quavo’s act of generosity, which was posted online, and praised the rapper in a tweet, which read: “S/O the homie @QuavoStuntin! Super dope what he did for his high school.”

A Conversation With The Boy Illinois On ‘Windy’, Paying Homage & More

(AllHipHop News) I first discovered The Boy Illinois as an opening act for a 2016 Lupe Fiasco show in Atlanta. One of the most memorable moments of the night was watching the audience react to the Chicago native’s Kurtis Blow/Nas/Lauryn Hill homage “Ruling Class ‘15.”

Over the next 18 months, Illi continued to tour and occasionally stop by Sway In The Morning to spit a freestyle, but the loafer aficionado hadn’t dropped a project since 2015’s Dusable. That changed in October when The Boy Illinois returned with a 9-track audio dedication to his hometown.

Windy features fellow Chitown representatives Rico Recklezz, YP, Saba, Frsh Waters, and others. Sections of the mixtape once again showcased Illi’s admiration for the iconic emcees that laid the groundwork for him to build his brand of Hip Hop.

Last week, The Boy Illinois and I connected on the phone to discuss his latest project. Other topics like paying tribute to OutKast and Tupac Shakur as well as the problematic personal life of R. Kelly were part of the conversation too.

[ALSO READ: EXCLUSIVE: The Boy Illinois Talks Touring With Lupe Fiasco, Upcoming Project & Embracing His Haitian Roots]

AllHipHop: What led to the two year break between the last project and Windy?

The Boy Illinois: A majority of that was because I was on tour with Lupe for like a year and a half, so we weren’t able to sit for two or three months to do a project. It was like we were on the road for three months, off another month, then we’re back. So I was dropping songs, but I couldn’t put a project together. I like to sit with it for a second. After the tour, it was like, “Alright, we’re going straight to the studio 24/7.” We got like three other projects besides Windy finished.

AllHipHop: So you have more projects on the way?

The Boy Illinois: Yeah. The original project that was supposed to come out under Priority as my EP was Road Winds. But I had a conversation with my manager and Malik Yusef, and they told me I needed to put a mixtape out. I had all this material that I was sitting on. It was like literally a must that we made Windy. It was just me linking up with all my people from Chicago. It’s pretty much all Chicago producers and features. My publicist named the project when we took it to her to listen to the songs. She was like, “This is just Chicago, so you gotta call it Windy.”

AllHipHop: You mentioned Priority. Can you explain your relationship with them?

The Boy Illinois: They’re a very good middleman. We have a great relationship with the people there. I think Trackster is at Priority. He’s from Chicago, so we got some fam up there. No I.D, he’s from Chicago. That’s Capitol which is like the same thing. They’re the third party, strictly distribution. So whenever we got some sh-t and we feel like we need a bigger platform to release it on, instead of doing it ourselves, we can pitch it to them and see where we go from there. That door is open now off of the “Dancing Like Diddy” joint. So we’re gonna use it to our advantage and hopefully we’re both gonna gain something good out of it.

AllHipHop: Do you know if Diddy saw that video?

The Boy Illinois: I have no clue. Everybody is like, “Yeah, he’s seen it by now.” My big homie Twista was like, “He sees everything, so he’s probably seen it by now.” I was like, “I don’t think he’s seen it.” Twista said, “Nah, I’m pretty sure he’s seen it.” Somebody else in the industry told me, “Yeah, he probably saw it already.” It would be dope. Even if I don’t know nothing about it, as long as he’s seen it, that’s cool with me.

AllHipHop: When I saw the cover art for Windy, I instantly recognized you were paying homage to OutKast. Why did you draw inspiration from Aquemini?

The Boy Illinois: I get a lot of people saying I look like André 3000 because of my hair and the way I dress. That’s one aspect of it. On the spiritual aspect of it, we had just come into the Age of Aquarius and you have Aquemini the album. So it was paying homage to one of my favorite groups, and at the same time, being it corresponds with the universe, I wanted to do that. And [OutKast] had the women [on the album cover], and women represent a powerful aspect of the forces of nature. The woman at the top is Oya. In the Yoruba religion, she is like the storm that comes through and destroys thing so that you can build anew. The woman at the bottom is her mother Yemaya which is the ruler of the waters. So the spiritual aspect and Hip Hop, mash it together and you got Windy.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BanS3KLlAlb/?hl=en&taken-by=theboyillinois

AllHipHop: Besides the OutKast connection, when you listen to the project you hear that you make a lot of references to legendary artists, like with the 2Pac soundbite on “Salute.” There’s been a lot of conversation in the culture lately about the “generational gap.” Why is it so important for you to show love to the emcees that came before you?

The Boy Illinois: I was raised by good OGs. No matter what they were into in the streets, they knew what they were doing was ultimately going to lead to some sort of demise. I got a lot of the “you’re a hooper” or “you rap, you need to move from this area.” So being raised on that and being around older cats, this was the music I grew up on. I hung around older folks, me and my homie Rel who’s one of my producers. Hanging around older folks all the time, you pick up certain traits and values. Not only that, you pick up the music they listen to. Because of the lack of education being passed down on a cultural basis, you want to reinforce it without having to preach it. That’s kind of one of the ways I do it.

AllHipHop: You recently dropped a video for “Didn’t I.” Are you planning to create more visuals from tracks off Windy?

The Boy Illinois: We’re probably gonna do seven of the nine videos. We finished “90/94 Freestyle” with my brother YP. We’re getting ready to shoot “Cool” with Saba and Frsh Waters. After that, we’re gonna be running with Rico Recklezz. Then at the end of the year, I’m probably gonna shoot “Run Around.” So we’ll probably have four more videos coming out before the end of this month.

AllHipHop: Before the end of the month?

The Boy Illinois: Yeah, well, probably two of them. I know my folks are gonna be like, “Nope. We’re not gonna release all of them.” [laughs] But we’re shooting all of them within the next two weeks. So who knows?

AllHipHop: You stay on it.

The Boy Illinois: Yeah, it’s no games. I’m at a point now where I haven’t been in this position before, so I gotta keep showing and proving. It’s work, work, work.

AllHipHop: What was the thought process behind the “Othello” track posted to SoundCloud?

The Boy Illinois: That’s a great question. I really just posted that to post it. I had been sitting on that for a minute, and I was like, “I’m not even gonna tell nobody I released it, so whoever follows me on SoundCloud are gonna be able to hear it.” It was just something I did in the studio. I have tons of songs. Free Chill. I record out of 1st & 15th Studios. Since the top of the year I’ve just been recording. So I just put it out there to put it out there. People will probably stumble across it later.

AllHipHop: I noticed a tweet that you posted where you tweeted about R. Kelly still having this large support, even after all these years of abuse and sexual misconduct allegations. There’s been a lot of news recently about these famous men, and in some cases women, facing accusations. Why do you think R. Kelly still has this large, supportive fan base despite all these allegations?

The Boy Illinois: As I said, we as people, men and women, and especially melanated, black, or whatever you refer to yourself as – we have a syndrome and condition that we keep going back to the people that don’t like us and the people who abuse us for some reason.

AllHipHop: Like Stockholm syndrome?

The Boy Illinois: Yes. If you look at R. Kelly’s victims, they’re young black women. Then you go to his fan base, and his fan base is older black women. There aren’t dudes like, “I’m finna go to this R. Kelly concert.” I’ve never heard that before. If a dude goes, he’s going with his girl or because a lot of women are gonna be there. So predominately, the people that support him are the people that he’s abusing. The same goes to the retail game with things men and women buy, knowing that these people don’t like us, we still support them. That’s a big part of it. And when the fashion or the music is so good, it’s hard to detach yourself from it.

AllHipHop: On a lighter note, I asked this question last year, so I wanted to check back in with you. How many pairs of loafers do you own now?

The Boy Illinois: Oh man, I have more gym shoes now. But I feel like I’m at like five pair of loafers. I live with my girl now, so my closet is pretty small now compared to hers.

Kevin Hart Calls Out Joe Budden For His Cheating Scandal Comments

https://youtu.be/hu_4yAZVNsU

(AllHipHop News) Joe Budden can’t catch a break. In a week where Migos and Lil Yachty mocked the Everyday Struggle talking head with an upcoming parody music video, Budden has also caught the attention of Kevin Hart.

The comedian’s interview with The Breakfast Club aired this morning. Part of the discussion included Hart calling out Budden for statements the “retired” rapper made on another one of his shows.

“I don’t like the false reality. Like Joe Budden did a podcast on it,” said Hart referring to his revelation that he cheated on his wife. “Joe, you were on Love & Hip Hop with thirty different relationships scandals. I got nothing but love for you though, Joe. I’m gonna go ahead and let it pass because I’m different… I lose respect for the men that you know. N-gga, I know you and I know what you been through! How does this become your spectacle?”

The Philadelphia native did not specifically mention which comments bothered him. However, there is footage of Budden and his podcast co-hosts discussing whether Eniko Parrish would leave her husband after Hart’s adultery became public. They also debated the “rules” of having a “side chick.”

Additionally, Hart addressed fellow stand-up comic and friend Michael Blackson on The Breakfast Club. He apparently had a problem with Blackson’s jokes about his infidelity.

The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star stated, “Mike turned into the Instagram model that just shows her ass that’s looking for likes… If you don’t know me, I get it. I’m supposed to be your guy. But now you’re looking for likes because the conversation of Kevin Hart drives attention to you. So you put your relationship with me in jeopardy because you want to capitalize off a Kevin Hart cheating scandal? That becomes your bits?”

Tyga Reportedly Loses Over $50,000 From LA Retail Store Robbery

(AllHipHop News) Tyga is out a lot of racks after his Last Kings store was robbed earlier this month. A new article on TMZ claims burglars took $53,150 worth of property.

The “Rack City” rapper lost $50,000 in clothing. An empty safe worth $250, a flat screen TV worth $800, an iPad worth $500, and part of the security system worth $1,600 were also accounted in the robbery losses.

An employee discovered the Los Angeles retail shop had been burglarized. Police have not named a suspect yet, but authorities are not ruling out it was possibly an inside job.

According to Deadline, 50 Cent’s G-Unit Film & Television and the Starz network extended their overall deal until 2019. The partnership is looking to develop Black Mafia Family, Tomorrow, Today, and a possible third project.

Russell Simmons’ Accuser Also Accuses L.A. Reid Of Sexual Harassment

(AllHipHop News) Three women have accused Def Jam Records co-founder Russell Simmons of rape. Drew Dixon, Tina Baker, and Toni Sallie spoke to the New York Times about the accusations.

Dixon has not only come forward to name Simmons as an alleged sexual abuser, she also implicated former Epic Records CEO Antonio “L.A.” Reid. Dixon claims Reid sexually harassed her while she worked as an executive at Arista Records in the 2000s.

“It was a quid pro quo: ‘I have power, you want access, sleep with me — or I’m going to be really mean to you the next day. And there will be consequences,’” said Dixon about the harassment.

Earlier this year, Reid resigned from Epic Records after he faced accusations of “unlawful harassment of an employee.” Reid told the NYT, “I’m proud of my track record promoting, supporting and uplifting women at every company I’ve ever run. That notwithstanding, if I have ever said anything capable of being misinterpreted, I apologize unreservedly.”

Simmons stepped down from his businesses last month following other abuse allegations. The Los Angeles Times recently published an article where even more women accused Simmons of sexual misconduct going back decades.

“These horrific accusations have shocked me to my core, and all of my relations have been consensual,” said Simmons in a statement to Rolling Stone, “I am blessed to have shared extraordinary relationships, whether through work or love, with many great women; and I have enormous respect for the women’s movement worldwide and their struggle for respect, dignity, equality and power. I am devastated by any reason I may have given to anyone to say or think of me in the ways that are currently being described.”

Rape Charges Against Nelly Dropped

Rapper Nelly’s rape case has been dropped.

Washington State prosecutors claim they can’t proceed due to the alleged victim’s refusal to co-operate, according to TMZ.

The 21-year-old woman, who claimed Nelly raped her on his tour bus in a car parking lot in October, initially told police she did not want to press charges
against Nelly.

The case was forwarded to the King County Prosecutor’s office in Washington for possible criminal charges last month after detectives at the Auburn
Police Department concluded their investigation into the alleged sexual assault.

Nelly was arrested days after the alleged incident and has been vocal in his defense.

The “Hot in Herre” hitmaker insisted he was “completely innocent” of charges of second degree rape, stating: “Let me say that I am beyond shocked that I have been targeted with this false allegation… I am confident that once the facts are looked at, it will be very clear that I am the victim of a false allegation.”

His lawyer Scott Rosenblum added, “Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges.

“Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”

Kevin Hart: “It’s Been A Tough Year”

(AllHipHop News) Kevin Hart has had “a tough year” following his infidelity and extortion scandals.

The “Ride Along” star was hit with allegations earlier this year that he had cheated on his then-pregnant wife Eniko, as well as claims that he cheated on his ex-wife Torrei with Eniko before they split up.

The scandals continued for Kevin over the summer when Montia Sabbag claimed they had an “intimate relationship” in Las Vegas in August and a “sexually provocative” video was made, with the comedian then becoming involved in an extortion scandal over its release.

He publicly apologized for his “bad behavior” to his wife, who has forgiven him, and they welcomed son Kenzo, their first child together, in November, and he has now insisted his mistakes are behind him.

When asked by “Extra” host Mario Lopez’s young daughter Gia what he wants for Christmas and whether he’s been naughty or nice, he replied, “That’s definitely a tough question for Kevin Hart right now. It was a tough year for me. I had some bumps in the road but the good thing is you take steps backwards to take great steps forwards so now, I recovered from some not nice times, now what I basically want is just for Santa to know that I’m doing good and I’m doing better – I’m a good guy.”

Kevin brought Eniko, who he married in 2016, along to the Los Angeles premiere of “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” on Monday, their first date night since the birth of Kenzo on November 21st.

He is also father to daughter Heaven, 12, and son Hendrix, 10, from his first marriage to Torrei.

Kendrick Lamar Says He Was Abducted By Aliens

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Kendrick Lamar is convinced he made contact with extraterrestrials in his youth.

The “Humble” hitmaker can’t shake the memory of seeing a strange alien from outer space standing before him when he was six years old, even though non-believers constantly tell him he must have been seeing things.

“Nobody believed me then and they don’t believe me now,” Lamar explained of his sighting during an interview on U.S. shock jock Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show. “It’s just something I can’t really describe, because it just sounds like, ‘OK, you just seen (sic) a dart go past. That s**t don’t make sense’.”

However, when pushed on whether he thought he was abducted by aliens, Kendrick admitted that the possibility haunts him often.

“I probably did,” he laughed. “That’s probably why I’m doing music right now. Who knows. They probably gave me the energy.”

Kendrick knows for sure legendary hip-hop producer Dr. Dre provided him with the energy and a platform to create his music at the outset of his career, but Lamar almost lost his opportunity for a big break when he hung up on one of the rap kingpin’s representatives during a meal at U.S. restaurant chain Chili’s.

“Me and my boy Ali, we was eating at Chili’s,” the 30-year-old told Stern. “I’ll never forget it. We was eating at Chili’s and we got a call like, ‘Yo, Dr. Dre likes your music’, and we was like, ‘Yo, who the f**k is this on the phone?’ Get outta here, man’. We hung up… We might have blown it. Another call came in from somebody else. Then another call came in from somebody else, like, ‘Yo, they trying to reach out and figure out who you with’.”

Kendrick’s first meeting with Dre was also out of this world: “The first time was the moment I knew I’ve arrived…,” he shared, “He plays a beat and (tells me to) write to it.”

Mr. Cheeks Recalls Sleeping On Biggie’s Couch

(AllHipHop Rumors) Mr. Cheeks recently chatted with DJ Vlad about a number of things including his fondest career moment, Lost Boyz, East Coast Vs. West Coast Beef, and more.

Cheeks also touched on how the grind and the struggle was worth it and how it prepared him for success. He also shared that it made him be able to appreciate his success that much more.

When it came to the East Coast Vs. West Coast beef, Cheeks said that he didn’t know the beef was going to escalate to the level that it did, as he thought that it was just some lyrical beef that they had going on.

He also explained that he got a chance to meet Tupac, but he was actually close to Biggie as he used to sleep on BIG’s couch and do his street team promotion for Junior Mafia’s hit single “Get Money.”

Did you know that Cheeks and Big were that close? What’s your favorite Lost Boyz song?

Wu-Tang Forever: Is A Drake & Wu-Tang Clan Collaboration On The Way?

(AllHipHop Rumors) We all know that Drake is infatuated with the 90s, and to be honest, we can’t blame him.

We also know that he has mad love for the Wu-Tang Clan also as he’s sampled Wu-Tang in a song titled “Wu-Tang Forever”, and as he has been spotted with Wu’s own Ghostface Killah & Raekwon.

Drake shook things up again recently as he posted a photo on Instagram with him and the Clan.

This lead to fans speculating on whether he and Wu-Tang would possibly get in the studio to cook up some new heat for fans.

Years ago, RZA expressed how much he regretted Wu-Tang failing to do a Wu-Tang remix of Drake’s “Wu-Tang Forever”, so maybe the time for them to put out a hot collaboration is now.

You know Drake always has something up his sleeve, so he may actually be working on just that!

Would you be here for the collaboration?

(AllHipHop Rumors) It looks like the Baddest B-tch is teasing a collaboration with the Head Barb!

Earlier this year, Nicki Minaj had already teased a possible collaboration with Trina when she tweeted that she couldn’t wait for her fans to hear what they’d been working on.

These two have been close for a number of years, and they’ve always shown so much support for each other during various career moments.

Now Trina is with the same teasing game as she hinted on this mystery collaboration during her visit at Hot 97! She also shared that she’s heard a fire track off of Nicki’s forthcoming album.

“I’ma just tell you this. I heard a record that she played for me that’s just crazy. It’s just a crazy record. I haven’t heard the album, I heard a record for the album…a record she did. It was Nicki. It was one of them. It was one of those records you just get lost into that. Oh like that’s going to be a huge record, you already know that from the gate. You ain’t gotta struggle you ain’t gotta figure it out from the gate. This is a big one right here. This is to the side. She was working on records, but this record she played me I was like yeah,” said Trina.

When asked if she’d be working with Nicki at anytime, Trina grinned and replied with,

“Yeah. Yeah we’ve worked.”

Hmmmmm. I can’t wait to hear what these two have been cooking up!
