Meek Mill Says Drake Stood Him Up For A Major Show In Philly Before Diss Records Flew

(AllHipHop News) Meek Mill addressed his feud with Drake and offered up some insight into the origin of their beef and what drove the Philly rhymer to accuse the Toronto M.C. of using ghostwriters for his rap verses.

In the latest episode of Taxston’s “Tax Season” podcast, Meek, claimed Drake snubbed him when he was released from prison in December of 2014, after serving six months for violating his parole from gun and drug charges in 2008.

According to Meek, he hadn’t heard from Drake for over a year after his release and said that basically, Drake had changed.

“He was on my s##t and I pressed for that verse,” according to Meek referring to his song “R.I.C.O.,” from Meek’s Dreams Worth More Than Money, which would ironically be the track that Meek would accuse Drake of using a ghostwriter to complete.

“He [Drake] was supposed to come to my show [in Philly], they said they aint know about it,” Meek Mill said. “It’ an arena, with 30,000 people in here, this something you aint know about? I had the s##t set up for four months. The day of nobody ain’t come through ain’t call me, so I’m back stage looking like a fraud to everybody I told, cause they on the bill, but I didn’t announce their name…the buzz in the street, they know they was supposed to come, but the way ni##as was handling it to me was just different. If you handle me different with no regard, I don’t really show no regard. It ain’t really no price for me to pay. Unless it’s serious violence, then there’s nothing you can do about it.”

Meek said most of his problems started as soon as he dated Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj, who is label mates with Drake, his biggest rival at the moment.

According to Meek, he was impressed with Drake’s diss record “Back To Back,” but he didn’t think the single was that big of deal.

“I was on tour at this time. When I record, I don’t really record like that. And I always move at my time,” Meek told Taxstone.

ILL Bill and Slaine Discuss New La Coka Nostra Album “To Thine Own Self Be True”

Founded in late 2005, La Coka Nostra (ILL BILL, Slaine, Danny Boy & DJ Lethal) was more of a loose collective of artists connected through Danny Boy than an “actual” group.

Having taken time off from rap after the break-up of House of Pain, Danny Boy met Slaine in Boston and the end result of that meeting transpired into Danny brining him out to L.A. to work on some tracks.

Eventually, as they continued the creative process, things began to snowball organically and suddenly former members of House of Pain and ILL BILL joined the studio sessions and La Coka Nostra was born.

While “supergroups” are more commonplace in today’s Hip-Hop landscape, when iconic members of House Of Pain and Non Phixion initially merged they were anything but. It’s been four-years since La Coka Nostra released their sophomore album, Masters Of The Dark Arts.

However, a few things still remain constant; La Coka Nostra will always be as their aptly-titled 2009 debut verified, A Brand You Can Trust, and the group will continue to dazzle their rapid fan-base with sold out shows around the globe with their raucous live performances.

Always known for tackling controversial topic matter, the group’s new album, To Thine Own Self Be True, finds them once again in torch-bearing mode, addressing subjects that most artists shy away from.

“This album was created during a time of unique and individual transformation for each member of the group” ILL Bill stated. “Speaking for myself, it’s been a heavy last couple of years. It’s definitely the most personal record we’ve made under the La Coka banner and while we’re still making music that’s hard as f##k, there’s a maturity to this latest batch of songs that makes it different from a lot of the older stuff. I notice the biggest reactions come from the songs our listeners can personally relate to and we needed to make a record like this right now, not only for the fans, but for ourselves. I got alot off my chest on this one. Making music can be extremely therapeutic and making To Thine Own Self Be True was a rebirth and a re-ignition for me.”

Slaine had a similar take on the projects therapeutic manifestation.

“You don’t put as many years in the game as we have without having ups and downs. We all have gone through struggle and adversity—personally and professionally,” Slaine lamented. “This album was recorded as I walked out of a very dark time toward a place of truth and understanding. Music has been how I feed my family, my plane ticket around the world and a place I’ve built real friendships; but at the very core it’s a tool I use to get through life. This album is a moment in time. It is visceral and real.”

Production is handled by Statik Selektah, Marco Polo, Salam Wreck, ChumZilla guest appearances by Vinnie Paz, Apathy, Q-Unique, Sick Jacken, Skam2 & Rite Hook.

Plot Twist: Is Young M.A. Trying To Take Nicki Minaj Away From Meek Mill?

Is Young M.A plotting on trying to take Nicki Minaj from Meek Mill? Well, comedian Lil Duval certainly thinks so.

Wouldn’t that be quite the plot twist?!

Lil Duval goes as far as telling Meek Mill to #staywoke and not be a Safaree! Remember Meek slid his way in to the picture when Nicki Minaj was still dating Safaree. We know they had been dating since they were younger, but we still don’t see how that ever happened.

Moving along, Young M.A. certainly has no reservations about trying to be ‘Mrs. Steal Yo Girl,’ so Meek better watch out.

Nicki still probably plays on both teams, she certainly has rapped some lines over the years that have suggested that she may be a little bi-sexual or certainly bi-curious. Hell we remember when she was trying to take Cassie away from Diddy.

Duval is funny for this one.

Amber Rose Is In To Transgender Men?

Although Amber Rose tries to play innocent, she never ceases to amaze us.

According to PageSix, Rose revealed that she once dated a transman. The reveal went down on Amber’s podcast, ‘Loveline With Amber Rose’ with Margaret Cho.

Cho told Rose: “The women that I like are real masculine … So I like a really butch girl.” Rose then revealed a secret by saying: “I used to date a transman, actually. So I find that hot as well.”

Cho then stated, “I like transmen. I’ve dated transmen and transwomen too. So right now, there is a lot of different people on my [Pinterest] board and you can’t really make any sort of sense of type. And then I like a dirty, old man.”

I mean it’s Amber Rose…. are we even surprised. What’s surprising is the fact that she doesn’t like threesomes.

Does Fabolous Have A Secret Son?

Say it ain’t so!

Rapper Fabolous has become involved in an alleged love triangle after rumors spread that he may in fact have a secret son.

Apparently a woman is claiming that Fabolous fathered her son, but refuses to give anymore details or talk about the matter any further. Apparently blogger Fameolous reached out to the woman to see the birth certificate, and the woman told Fame that enough information had already been given.

Word on the street is that Emily B knows about the situation but refuses to comment, and that Fab knows about the story as well but is claiming the kid is not his.

We sure hope Fab didn’t get caught out here with a break baby/side chick baby. Nah not Fab. But hey, a quick paternity test could clear all of this up.

The woman is claiming that Fab hasn’t stepped up to the plate to be a father for their alleged child, and he is running from his responsibility.

First Week Sales Predictions For Jeezy’s ‘Trap Or Die 3’ & Meek Mill’s ‘DC4’ Are In

(AllHipHop News) Early predictions had Meek Mill’s DC4 in the running for the #1 spot on the album chart.

However, new numbers from HitsDailyDouble show the Maybach Music Group member is falling behind other projects released the same week.

The music industry website calculated DC4 will collect between 45,000 – 50,000 sales plus streaming units, 35,000 – 40,000 actual album sales.

Jeezy’s Trap Or Die 3 was the other big Hip Hop set that arrived on October 28.

The rap veteran is on pace to open with 67,000 – 72,000 SPS units (55,000 – 60,000 sales)

Both Meek and Jeezy will likely come in behind Kenny Chesney’s Cosmic Hallelujah (80,000 – 85,000 SPS, 72,000 – 77,000 sales).

What Happened To Keith Murray? Crazy Picture!

An image of 90’s rap legend Keith Murray is circulating and it doesn’t look good. Before the rumors, here is the picture.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

Here is the word on the streets.

The rumor is, Keith has a drug problem. Murray is “known” to get down with a variety of drugs and has admitted to such. Now, it seems like it may be taking over in a most negative way. Lets start in the 90’s. Rappers like Redman were on a bunch of stuff like PHP and dust. I am not certain if KM was a part of all that, but he and Reggie and others rolled tight as a part of the Hit Squad and later the Def Squad. Last year, Keith Murray had a battle with Fredro Starr of Onyx that was just weird. Later on, he blamed his erratic behavior on prescription drugs.

You can see him talk about the drug issues below.

AllHipHop was a sponsor of the battle and you can see it below.

Now, as far as the present day issue, it seems like KM got into a scrap that got him landed in jail. There’s not a lot more to say, Keith is getting older and I know he has kids. Hopefully he is taking the first steps to get clean and sober if this is indeed recent.

At any rate, check out KM’s high marks:

Street Money Boochie Blasts 21 Savage In Defense Of His Cousin Bankroll Fresh

(AllHipHop News) Newcomer 21 Savage placed himself in the middle of the news surrounding the killing of fellow Atlanta rapper Bankroll Fresh.

21 defended No Plug, the person that admitted he was involved in a shootout which led to the death of Fresh.

In August, Bankroll Fresh’s uncle Shadi Powers spoke with AllHipHop.com about 21 connecting himself to No Plug and his nephew’s situation.

“I don’t even know why 21 Savage is allowing himself to be put in this equation,” said Powers. “To be honest, he’s a young rapper that don’t come from the side of town where No Plug comes from.”

Now, Fresh’s cousin Street Money Boochie has used his Twitter feed to address 21 as well.

Boochie’s tweets never included the name “21 Savage” but each post does reference “Savage.”

“The Gutta” rhymer also adds “Savage Mode” in a tweet which is the name of 21’s recent project with producer Metro Boomin.

“Bank Slap The Sh-t Out Him With A 30 on his hip,” wrote Boochie. “#Weenieboy Now That’s Savage Mode.”

2 Chainz Links With Rep. John Lewis To Push Young People To Vote

(AllHipHop News) Rapper 2 Chainz made an appearance yesterday (October 30) in his hometown of Atlanta, in an attempt to encourage young voters to go the polls for the upcoming presidential election.

The Atlanta rapper linked up with Rep. John Lewis at a polling station/rally with a number of other influential community members.

The rapper addressed the crowd and the urgent need to go vote on November 8.

“If we don’t vote, we don’t have a reason to complain,” 2 Chainz said. “It is important for me to come out and use my platform to try to influence the millennials. Actions speak louder than words, and it’s got to start somewhere.”

Rep. John Lewis blasted Donald Trump, and bristled at the thought of the billionaire becoming President of the United States.

“Our country will not be the same,” Lewis said in an interview during the event. “Donald Trump is mean spirited. And he will take us back to another place, another time.”

Jeezy Explains Why He’s Not A Republican (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Jeezy is responsible for the most celebrated Hip Hop anthem dedicated to Barack Obama.

The CTE leader’s “My President” was played throughout the 2008 presidential campaign.

As Obama prepares to leave the White House in a few months, Jeezy stopped by Sway In The Morning and talked politics.

“We’re all politicians in our own right. Especially for me. I’m gonna speak for the people anytime I get a chance,” said the Atlanta native. “I ain’t never gonna bite my tongue because I come from that.”

Jeezy continued, “They asked the other day, ‘Why you not a Republican? You’re getting money.’ I was like, ‘I never had nothing. I don’t give a f-ck about no taxes.”

In addition, Jeezy reflected on how his albums such as Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101The RecessionChurch In These Streets, and Trap or Die 3 influencing listeners to strive to improve their lives.

Sway acknowledged the Southern rap star for not changing his message after gaining fame and wealth.

“I credit that to having real beginnings and being thankful for everything,” responded Jeezy.

He added, “[The people] put me in this position. It’s almost like – not to compare – but we put Barack there. He can’t forget about us.”

HoodyBaby Releases “Haunted House” Just In Time For Halloween

The Young Money artist and close friend to Lil Wayne and Chris Brown, HoodyBaby releases music off of upcoming Mixtape Kitchen24.

HoodyBaby, is a music artist, producer and songwriter from Dallas, Texas that works under 3 different aliases. In addition to HoodyBaby, the other 2 names to tell his story in music are Fat Leopard  and Super Hood.

In his early 20’s, HoodyBaby used to go by the stage name HoodBoss and did a few features for Lil Ronnie and Tum Tum on songs such as “She’s All Mine“, “I’m From Dallas“, and “Backstabbers“.  Getting shot and spending a couple of months in hospital made the Young Money artist decide to take his career seriously. During this time he chose to not let his writing and producing skills go to waste. He knew that if he stayed in the streets his only options would be jail or death. Hood officially signed to Young Money as an artist in 2015 and he also has a production deal with Warner/Chappell Music, Inc.

Meek Mill’s ‘DC4’ Is In Competition To Open At #1 On The Album Chart

(AllHipHop News) The reports of Meek Mill’s demise may have been greatly exaggerated.

The general consensus following Drake’s “Back To Back” diss record was that Meek’s career was on life support.

However, early sales calculations for the Philadelphia rapper’s DC4 retail mixtape suggest Meek could land back at the top of the album chart.

According to HitsDailyDouble, DC4 is currently competing with Kenny Chesney’s Cosmic Hallelujah and Avenged Sevenfold’s The Stage for the pole position.

Unlike Chesney and Avenged Sevenfold’s respective projects, Meek’s tape was only available as a digital release.

That means a large portion of the DC4 totals will likely come from streaming numbers.

Meek earned his first #1 album with 2015’s Dreams Worth More Than Money which racked up 246,000 equivalent album units in its first week.

Kanye West Credited As Co-Writer On Drake’s Kid Cudi Diss Track

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West is listed as a co-writer on Drake’s controversial track which disses Kid Cudi.

According to credits on streaming service Tidal, Kanye is listed as a writer and co-producer of the Canadian star’s song “Two Birds, One Stone,” in which he describes Cudi’s depression a “phase”.

“My numbers are out of the world, no wonder they got me feeling so alienated/You were the man on the moon, now you go through your phases/Live for the angry and famous,” raps Drake in the track.

But in a new curve ball, it has been revealed that Kanye is listed alongside Drake and frequent collaborator Noah “40” Shebib as a co-composer and co-lyricist on the tune.

His involvement is especially interesting given his most recent support for his former GOOD Music label colleague and protege.

Last month, Kanye called Cudi “the most influential artist of the last 10 years.”

More recently, he asked his fans to sing “Father Stretch My Hands Pt.1” in the singer’s honor during a recent stop on his Saint Pablo tour.

However, even with the credit, it’s yet to be seen how involved he was in the writing process, or if he was even aware of the offending remark.

And it’s possible that Kanye contributed writing and production to “Two Birds, One Stone” before Drake finalized the lyrics.

On Friday, Cudi reportedly took to Twitter on Friday (October 28) to hit back at Drake’s song.

“Say it to face, p###y,” he wrote in a message. “You think it’s a game. I wanna see you say it to my face. I’ll be out soon. Promise.”

He later deleted the tweet.

The “Day ‘n’ Nite” rapper checked into rehab earlier this month for “depression and suicidal urges” and told his fans in an emotional Facebook post that he was not at peace.

“It took me awhile to get to this place of commitment, but it is something I have to do for myself, my family, my best friend/daughter and all of you, my fans,” the rapper shared. “I am not at peace. I haven’t been since you’ve known me.”

His rehab admission came just after he implied both Drake and Kanye don’t write their own music.

Peter Rosenberg: Drake Told Me Someone Else Wrote One Of His Early Verses (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Those ghostwriting rumors around Drake just won’t seem to end.

Peter Rosenberg is the latest Hip Hop insider to present circumstantial evidence that the OVO frontman pays other rappers to write his bars.

During a Real Late interview with comedian Pete Davidson, Rosenberg shared a story about Drake supposedly revealing to him that someone else wrote one of his verses around the time Thank Me Later was released.

Davidson and the Hot 97 host were discussing the idea of Drake never creating a bad verse.

“There’s one. I told him this too. And he didn’t write it,” stated Rosenberg. “It was from the first album run. It had that flow. Three rappers were on it.”

Even though he could not recall the name of the song, Rosenberg reiterated that he was told by Drake that someone else wrote his lyrics for that record.

“He actually told me he didn’t write that verse,” added Rosenberg. “By the way, first time I’m saying that publicly. I’m not trying to roast him. I didn’t think anything of it.”

Back in August, fellow Hot 97 radio personality Ebro Darden and the NYC station were hit with some shots from Drake after Darden also publicly shared a supposed private conversation between the two.

Ebro sparked speculations Drake was prepared to take aim at Eminem on a diss track.

“I told Drake that I heard the rumor was that Eminem was going to gear up to come after him,” said the former Hot 97 program director live on the air. “[Drake] laughed and was like, ‘That’s not going to happen. He’d never do that. And if he did, I got something for him to.’”

Ebro later claimed it was just a joke and the media took him out of context.

Shortly after that, Eminem appeared with Drake at his Detroit stop of the “Summer Sixteen Tour.”
