Amber Rose Gets Rounds the Clock Guards After Deep Sleep Break In

(AllHipHop News) Model Amber Rose has hired armed security guards to work around the clock after an intruder broke into her California home as she slept on Wednesday (May 17).

Wiz Khalifa’s ex-wife had to call in police after discovering a smashed kitchen window at her San Fernando Valley house, and the culprit managed to spend four hours inside the property without being noticed.

Amber and her boy Sebastian, her four-year-old son with Wiz, allegedly slept through the incident, as did her mother, an assistant, and her bodyguards.

It was only after the model checked through her surveillance footage that she realized exactly what had happened, after capturing the man on camera entering her home and fleeing hours later.

Nothing was stolen in the break-in.

Authorities have yet to make an arrest, and so Amber is taking matters into her own hands by recruiting a new security team to keep her and her family safe 24/7.

Sources tell TMZ the new group of guards are off-duty cops, one of whom will stay inside the property throughout the day and night.

Amber has yet to comment on the security scare.

Rick Ross Postpones U.K. Concert

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Rick Ross has postponed a concert in London next month due to undisclosed reasons.

The “Hustlin’” hitmaker was set to perform at the indigo at The O2 on June 13 as part of his Rather You Than Me tour, but the gig will be rescheduled.

”It is with regret that we announce the postponement of Rick Ross’ upcoming and much anticipated London show,” a statement issued to Bang Showbiz reads.

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Rather You Than Me Tour will be postponed to a later date, soon to be announced,” promoters said.

Ross is currently on tour in the U.S.

Bow Wow Finally Meets His Dad On “Growing Up Hip Hop”

(AllHipHop News) Rapper and actor Bow Wow had a strange get together with his estranged father on his new reality TV show Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta.

The 30-year-old star had no relationship with his dad growing up and decided it was high time for the two to reconnect – and he did it on camera.

As well as making for great TV, Bow Wow, real name Shad Moss, admits he had a great time getting to know his father.

“You see us trying to catch up, but what was weird is that I’m 30 years old now and I told him…, ‘This is crazy, this is our first father and son talk; not when I was 12 or 15 or 16 when I really needed you…,” he tells Access Hollywood Live.

“I felt like I had to do that for closure. I didn’t wanna get a call that something had happened to him, and I didn’t want him to go the rest of his life thinking that I hated him, which is not the case.

“I got older and I have a daughter now, who is six. As I became a man I just grew up and matured… He was reaching out to me and I took the time to think about it and I said, ‘OK, I’m ready to do it’.”

And Bow Wow insists he still would have made the connection happen even if he wasn’t filming a TV show.

“I was still gonna have that conversation with him,” he adds. “It just so happened that I was filming and it just worked out.”

Bow Wow admits his dad has never been too far away from him, showing up at concerts.

He remembers, “I’d get a call: ‘Hey man, there’s a guy here saying he’s your dad’, and I’d say, ‘That could be anybody…’ It’s cool.”

Catherine Zeta-Jones To Play Griselda Blanco In Another Movie About “The Godmother” (POLL)

(AllHipHop News) Catherine Zeta-Jones is set to portray Colombian drug queen Griselda Blanco in an upcoming biopic for American network Lifetime.

“Cocaine Godmother” will be directed by Oscar-winning cinematographer Guillermo Navarro.

The film will begin shooting later this year and will premiere in 2018.

The project, written by David McKenna, will centre on Blanco’s violent reign as a cocaine dealer in Miami, Florida in the 1970s and 1980s.

She was sentenced to a decade in prison following her arrest in 1985. Blanco was killed in Columbia in 2012.

Catherine was previously attached to a biopic about Blanco, titled “The Godmother.”

Norwegian director Eva Sorhaug was set to direct the film, but it is unclear why the project didn’t come to fruition.

Jones is not the only actress who will portray Blanco in a film – Jennifer Lopez has signed on to star and executive produce a movie for America’s HBO network.

“I’ve been fascinated by the life of this corrupt and complicated woman for many years,” Jennifer stated in a press release. “The idea of teaming with HBO felt like the perfect fit for finally bringing Griselda’s story to life.”

Alex Pettyfer has also been listed as a co-executive producer, according to Deadline.com, but it is not clear if the “Magic Mike” actor will also star in the movie.

A release date has yet to be announced.

Mark Wahlberg was also developing a film, titled “Cocaine Cowboys,” in 2012 and revealed Lopez was eager to star as Blanco in his film, insisting the role had Best Actress Oscar written all over it.

This Could Be Something B.I.G.

(AllHipHop Features) During his tragically shortened career it wasn’t uncommon for Biggie Smalls aka The Notorious BIG to record features with other artists. There was the “Real Love Remix” by Mary J. Blige, “Be Happy” by R.Kelly, and “This Time Around” by the King of Pop, wherein MJ harmonized as BIG extoled his decision to change up his flow; he “got rid on the Rottweiler’s and put pit bulls by the door.”

There’s another feature, however, that’s greatly different than those three and many others. It’s different because it paired the Bad Boy artist from Brooklyn with collaborators from the Bronx – Pudgee tha Phat Bastard, Minnesota, Al. G and Lord Tariq – despite the long standing beef between each borough, and rivalry that often played out in epic proportions in Manhattan’s nightclubs. It was different because it introduced the world, and in many cases reaffirmed for those on the Eastern seaboard, the communal and eventual commercial power of the talent and music being curated on analog mix tapes created by the likes of DJ Clue, Doo Wop and Kid Capri. It was different in the way it was distributed, but most of all, it was different than any other song featuring Big because it has never been commercially released. Despite this last difference, “Think Big” has become part of the canon of classic Hip Hop; a song that lives in the fabric of today’s pop culture.

Did Wack 100 Get Knocked Out By Treach?!

(AllHipHop Rumors) According to 40 Glocc, word on the curb is that Wack 100 allegedly got jumped and knocked out by Naughty By Nature’s Treach and his people! Wack has refuted these claims, and he is now telling Treach that he isn’t squashing anything with him either!

“No I’m not squashing nothing. Bring your b-tch a-s out n-gga, On my MF kids life looking for this f##### MF b-tch a-s n-gga. Now you telling n-ggas you rushed me. I hit all your spots. Bring your f##### a-s out to play,” said Wack.

Apparently Treach wants to call a truce now with Wack 100, and everyone is not feeling it. It’s two ways to look at it: a peaceful truce is better than someone losing their life behind senseless violence, however most wanted to know how could Treach talk all of that sh-t on stage and online, and all of a sudden want to call a truce with Wack 100.

Plus a lot of folks feel like an ass whooping for Wack 100 is long overdue, especially for the Tupac disrespect.

Of course folks have been in Treach’s comments talking reckless and claiming that he is ducking a fade now! At first folks felt like Treach would really be the one to knock Wack out.

I think issa cover up. I still think Treach or his people are going to really deliver a beat down to Wack 100, but he wants to get the attention off of himself before it happens. What are your thoughts?

Nicki can now be heard on “Swish Swish,” the latest single by Pop superstar Katy Perry.

The track features the Queens representative rapping about how “silly rap beefs” earn her more checks.

Over the last few months, Minaj has been engaged in a back-and-forth feud with fellow New York City rapstress Remy Ma.

“Swish Swish” will be on Perry’s upcoming fifth studio album Witness which is scheduled for release on June 9.

The project is also set to include the song “Bon Appét##” with Atlanta rap group Migos.

Jean-Michel Basquiat Painting Sells For Record $110.5 Million

(AllHipHop News) Jean-Michel Basquiat has been one of the most celebrated visual artists in Hip Hop history.

Jay Z, Kanye West, Nas, J. Cole, Killer Mike, Rick Ross, Wale, A$AP Rocky, Vic Mensa, and many others have referred to the late neo-expressionist painter in their lyrics.

Rap fans should expect the name Basquiat to be mentioned in even more songs in the future now that he holds the sales record for American artists.

Basquiat’s 1982 piece “Untitled” sold for $110.5 million at a Sotheby’s auction on Thursday.

The painting was bought by Japanese businessman Yusaku Maezawa.

“I am happy to announce that I just won this masterpiece. When I first encountered this painting, I was struck with so much excitement and gratitude for my love of art. I want to share that experience with as many people as possible,” wrote the billionaire on Instagram.

Basquiat began as a 1970’s graffiti artist in New York City and later connected with pop culture icon Andy Warhol.

He also worked with rappers Rammellzee and K-Rob for the track “Beat Bop.”

Warhol’s “Silver Car Crash (Double Disaster)” held the previous American sales record at $104.5 million.

As you know Wack 100 & Naughty By Nature’s Treach have been beefing on social media as Treach refuses to let Wack 100 continue to disrespect Tupac’s name and legacy.

Treach has accused Wack of being in hiding, and he’s definitely offering him the fade. Treach has expressed his anger with Wack and Funk Flex for continuously throwing dirt on Tupac’s name, so you can imagine how upset Treach was when Wack 100 praised Funk Flex for also going in on Pac.

Wack has even taken it so far where he’s offering anyone who knows Treach’s location in LA, $5000 for that information.

“Anybody in La that knows the whereabouts of @TreachTribe I got $5,000 for that information. @TreachTribe where the f-ck you at.” said Wack.

Treach fired at Wack saying,

“HI B-TCH!!, WACK KEEP IT 100 I’M SWITCHED FLIGHTS BEEN HERE IN L.A. for 4 DAYZ LOOKING FOR THAT FADE B-TCH BOY, MEET ME IN SUBURB NEAR YOU LMFAO, YOU DON’T EVEN BE IN THE HOOD I DO N-GGA!!” said Treach.

All I know is this doesn’t sound like it will end well as it definitely sounds like it will turn violent. While Wack 100 seems like just a talker, Treach definitely seems like he is about that life!!!

Is Tank Defending Mumble Rappers?

(AllHipHop Rumors) People are always divided on the state of today’s Hip Hop! Some are supportive of the new waves and others believe it’s straight trash!

One person who is supportive of the new school of Hip Hop artists is R&B singer, Tank.

Artists such as Lil Yachty and Lil Uzi Vert have faced much backlash for putting out garbage music that lacks substance and is nothing more than mumble rap at times.

It seems like Tank was fed up with the harsh criticism. Tank took to Instagram to express how fed up he was with black men speaking down on young black artists.

“I’m utterly disgusted!! I’ve never seen so many grown black men speak out against young black kids fighting to earn a living in this already difficult world! Yes they’re different but so was MJ and Prince! Y’all still celebrate those men highly with no thought to their differences. The crazy part is that these kids actually represent positivity. They give a voice to those who feel like outcasts and may even have a hard time fitting in. These kids make being different ok and give hope to those who may feel like their life has no value. Maybe you’d feel better if these kids ran up on your car high and tooled up with extended clips and told you to “get down, lay down, or be found!” That would make more sense to you huh? You definitely don’t want them to live their dreams and have fun entertaining the world! You definitely don’t want them to feed their families and get they mama out the hood. You n-ggas kill me wanting your music to stay in the 80s and the 90s but gotta have the 2018 Benz! Everything changes! Everything evolves! A fan commented under Tank’s Instagram post saying,

“I guess we’re not allowed to say when someone is ruining hip hop, why does it have to turn into hatred? There are many talented artists that never get a chance to show their potential but then guys like these get the opportunity and sell trash. That’s all I’m saying. Not hate in my heart just truth.”

Tank replied by saying,

“@training.to.beat.batman what you call trash a billion other people enjoy. Remember that.

Tank also went on to reply to another fan explaining to them that every artists is not going to make music with “substance”, and they don’t have to. Tank feels that every artist is allowed to paint their own picture. There are no rules.

Did T.I. Ban Bernice Burgos From Appearing In Other Rapper’s Music Videos?

(AllHipHop Rumors) T.I. certainly has a lot going on with his marriage, pending divorce, and affairs.

It looks like T.I. and his alleged side chick, Bernice Burgos are still going strong! Word on the curb is that T.I. allegedly banned her for appearing in other rapper’s music videos!

Although Bernice Burgos is 37, she’s certainly still in high demand! Several music artists have been rumored to be trying to feature the model in their music videos, but Tip is said to be SHUTTING IT DOWN!

According to Hollywood Life, now that Bernice is popping, she’s been trying to get in everyone’s videos, but T.I. isn’t with it.

“He told her that’s a no-no and that he better not see her in anyone’s music videos except his,” claims a source close to the situation.

“TIP’s very territorial and he’s not cool seeing his girl twerking and looking all sexy in another man’s video. Bernice wants to work. She loves how TIP financially supports her but she doesn’t want him to feel like she’s a gold digger. Even so, TIP really doesn’t want her working. He told her he’s got her and just wants her to keep doing what she’s doing – pleasing and making TIP the happiest he’s ever been,” said an insider.

Well it has been said that Tip is known for not wanting his women to work. I could see why Bernice would want to appear in videos to continue to expand her “brand” because all we really know her for is being an Instagram model and occasional video vixen.

Rumor also has is that Benrice caused a lot of drama at T.I.’s son Major’s recent birthday celebration. Apparently Bernice brought Major a lot of gifts, and had the nerve to give them to T.I. and Tiny’s son right in front of Tiny!

Another source claims that Bernice wasn’t really there, but somehow Tip still managed to throw Bernice in Tiny’s face. Tiny already told y’all that she ain’t worried about no “pass around b-tch”, but that’s still got to hurt considering how Tiny has held Tip down.

Hip Hop and social media star DJ Khaled popped up during the event.

Khaled was invited to appear by graduation speaker Steve Stoute.

“Thank you [Steve Stoute] for bringing me out at your commencement speech for UC Berkeley Statistics Graduates!! Congrats to the young world!” wrote Khaled on Instagram.

The creator of the forthcoming Grateful album performed his hit 2010 record “All I Do Is Win” before giving a short inspirational speech.

Faith Evans Releases The Notorious B.I.G. Duet Album ‘The King & I’

Drake & Tory Lanez End Their Feud With Instagram Photos

Both music artists posted pictures of them together on their respective Instagram pages.

“The city needs more of this and less of that,” wrote Drake in a photo’s caption.

Lanez added on his own IG page, “Toronto… I Told You.”

The two Canadians had been throwing shots at each other in their songs for a few years.

This ending of the feud could lead to collaborations between Drizzy and Daystar.

(AllHipHop News) After turning himself into Charlotte police in connection with a shooting involving Young Dolph, Blac Youngsta dropped a diss record directed at his rival.

Youngsta’s “Birthday” features the Memphis rapper claiming Dolph shot at his own truck.

“I’m not guilty. I’m innocent,” declares the man born Sammie Benson.

Blac Youngsta was released on bond.

Frederick Black and Antavius Gardner were also charged in the case.

All three suspects have been charged with six counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property and felony conspiracy.

Chance the Rapper Says Working With Kanye Means Being Lectured

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West spends 75 percent of his time in the recording studio giving “lectures” to his collaborators, according to pal Chance the Rapper.

The “Stronger” hitmaker is known for his outspoken views and has made a habit of using the stage and his social media platforms to share his rants with fans, and Chance reveals his hip-hop idol is just the same when he hits the studio.

The 24-year-old helped Kanye write five songs for his The Life of Pablo album, including “Ultralight Beam,” on which he also features, while the producer/rapper returned the favor by delivering a verse on “All We Got” for Chance’s Colorring Book mixtape last year.

Recalling the development process of The Life of Pablo tunes, Chance tells Teen Vogue magazine, “He’s very big on multitasking. We’ll have a studio rented out, and he’ll bounce between rooms working on different songs, writing for a second or adding or subtracting productions. He’ll also put a bunch of people in a room that he thinks might have good ideas and try to see what they come up with.”

And Kanye tries to amp up the energy of his collaborators by giving them his impassioned takes on worldly matters.

“Twenty-five per cent of it (studio time) is productive ideas flowing,” Chance continues,” and then 75 per cent is lectures from Kanye, where he tells you exactly how he views the world – just very straight Kanye, honesty that definitely gets your creativity and strong opinions out on the floor.”

While some may find the interruptions distracting, Chance welcomed the open discussions because they gave him an opportunity to build up his own confidence by arguing his point.

“I think it helped me find myself,” he shares. “I’m a young dude from Chicago who grew up with Kanye as my image of hip-hop. Finding your voice in a room where you have to challenge Kanye is scary – but it’s also life-affirming.”

The filmmaker and the “Suicide Squad” star are part of the jury selecting the best films at the event in France, and this year’s competition includes two Netflix projects – Tilda Swinton’s “Okja” and “The Meyerowitz Stories,” which stars Emma Thompson and Ben Stiller.

It’s the first time any Netflix movies have been considered for the prestigious Palme d’Or award – and it will be the last.

Due to a rule change for next year’s festival, all movies submitted will have to be released in French cinemas.

Jury president Almodovar agreed with the Netflix ban, insisting films should not be considered for important prizes if they had not had a cinema release.

“All this doesn’t mean I’m not open, or don’t celebrate the new technology and the possibilities they offer to us, but while I’m alive, I will be fighting for the one thing the new generation is not aware of – the capacity of hypnosis of a large screen for a viewer,” he said, earning applause from members of the media at the jury’s first press conference.

But Smith was among those not clapping and he disagreed with the Spanish director, revealing his kids are huge Netflix fans.

“There’s very little cross between going to the cinema and watching what they watch on Netflix,” he told the press, insisting cinema movies and Netflix fare are “two different forms of entertainment.”

Smith and Almodovar are joined on this year’s Cannes Film Festival jury by Jessica Chastain, filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino, German writer/director Maren Ade, French movie composer Gabriel Yared, and Chinese actress Fan Bingbing.

Lil Durk Talks Getting Advice From Meek Mill

(AllHipHop News) Lil Durk emerged as one of the standout artists from Chicago’s Drill Music movement.

The 24-year-old has since left his hometown to relocate in the Hip Hop hot spot of Atlanta.

In a cover story for Paper magazine, Durk talked about how his “Young N-ggas” collaborator Meek Mill advised him to connect with industry insiders in the city.

“It’s so easy to connect with different artists because you can really just pull up on them at the studio or wherever they are and build a relationship with them,” said Durk about recording in the ATL. “You got to get out and hit the scene, and be yourself. Meek Mill is the one like, ‘you gotta go out bro.’ You know like, Magics, Blue Flame.”

The Love Songs For The Streets mixtape creator added, “Yeah, [Meek’s] like, ‘You gotta get out and hit the scene.’ You have to go politic-ing with the DJs in the club, you know hanging with the DJs. You got to show love, they’re often more important than the artists.”

Durk also discussed learning about Atlanta from Young Thug and Future.

The move from the Windy City to Georgia’s capital was a way for the OTF leader to avoid “trouble” and stay “focused.”
