Talib Kweli Responds To Racism Claims By White Rappers Diabolic and Remedy With “You Tried It”

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Talib Kweli has struck back at rapper Diabolic in a growing feud that started on Twitter over white rappers and their opposing views on racism.

The argument began when Wu-Tang affliate Remedy asked Talib Kweli if he was “pro black, racist, or both.” Diabolic weighed in during the back-and-forth over the matter.

Things got a little tense when Talib labeled Diabolic a “b####” for generalizing his views on white rappers, a claim which he adamantly denied.

https://twitter.com/TalibKweli/status/725487579093721089?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

Talib went on to pen an essay on the subject on Medium.com, and mentioned Remedy and Diabolic by name, which did not go over well with Diabolic.

Yesterday (June 24), Diabolic released the song “InKwelity” which set Twitter a buzz, and immediately drew calls for the Brooklyn emcee to reply.

Well, Talib did not waste a moment, with the release of a thunderous diss record aimed at both Diabolic and Remedy titled “You Tried It.”

Talib goes in on Diabolic for allegedly stealing money from his fans, labels him “Diaperbolic” and says the rapper is a hypocrite for not addressing the murders of young black men, in reply to Diabolic’s lines on Kweli’s interaction with Don Lemon in Ferguson, Missouri.

And for good measure, Talib drops a verse at Remedy, while urging Immortal Technique and Wu-Tang to come get their affiliates.

Dizzy Wright Reps Las Vegas With New Release “702 EP”

(AllHipHopNews) Sin City rapper Dizzy Wright recently announced that he will be releasing his project 702 EP July 2.

The project is to slated to feature production from Alex Lusting, LarryMakingAllTheHits, FreezeOnTheBeat and Louie Haze. The producers crafted a darker vibe on the 702 EP, as Dizzy takes listeners on an emotional trip through parts of his hometown unknown to most.

The Nevada MC began to make a name for himself with his 2012 album SmokeOut Conversations, which placed as high as #2 on the iTunes Hip-Hop charts.

Dizzy Wright is a nephew of Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. But he has been making moves on his own for years.

In 2016, Dizzy was very active, having released the Wisdom and Good Vibes EP earlier this year after a messy split from and the implosion of Hopsin’s Funk Volume label. Despite the turmoil, Dizzy also landed the opening slot on Logic’s “The Incredible World Tour.”

Check out the tracklist for 702 EP along with the video for the lead single featuring Reezy and Easy Redd “What’s In My Pot?” below.  You can also preorder the project here.

The Game Says Diddy Didn’t Kill Tupac

The Game recently checked in with The Cruz Show to talk new music with Scott Storch, the ‘All Eyez On Me’ biopic, Compton, being peaceful thanks to his daughter, his father molesting his sister, his relationship with Diddy and more. When the host and Game discussed Game’s relationship with Diddy, Game wanted to clear the air about a rumor that has been following Puff for a while.

“A lot of people didn’t know before I was signed to Dr. Dre, I was signed to Diddy I thought it was a rapping deal but all we did was party.”

Game explained that his demo got to Dre and Storch, he told Diddy that Dr. Dre wanted to sign him, and Puff said that he wasn’t going to hold him back and released him so he could grow with Dr. Dre.

The Game also took a moment to shoot down the rumor that Diddy killed Tupac. Game said,

“Puff Daddy didn’t kill Tupac. If you really from LA and you was alive during that era and you not stupid then you know how Tupac got killed and who killed him. The dude who killed Tupac is no longer living.”

Game says he’s a west side rider, but he’s also about the truth and the facts. Game also pointed out the fact that the same people who say they don’t rock with Diddy are the same ones who love to drink Ciroc. People love to hate on Puff but you can’t hate on success. What are your thoughts?

How Jay Z Gave Mafioso Rap A New Face With Reasonable Doubt [OP-ED]

It has been 20 years since the Golden Era of Hip-Hop came to an end and the rise of “shiny suit” rap began unfurling.

As the genre began to change,  Hip-Hop heads found hope in a rapper from Brooklyn New York, named Jay Z.

That hope came in the form of his first album “Reasonable Doubt,” which told the tale of a hustler with ambitions that mirrored the ones of a lot of young men at the time.

From the first note of  “Can’t Knock The Hustle” when Mary J Blige comes in with the…”la di da di da” Jay checks the mic and paints a picture of a lavish life lead by a mafioso Hip-Hop emcee.

I knew that Jay wasn’t this guy he was rapping about. Not yet at least.

Fast forward 20 years and we see that he became every bit of the character he portrayed on the Reasonable Doubt album.

Though Jay seemed more like someone who wore a fitted Yankees cap and Adidas shell toes, Reasonable Doubt”  prominently featured him in a suit and fedora on the cover.

But the wardrobe helped us visualize him as a mafia type character in a movie about a young man from Brooklyn who was going to hustle beyond the “Politics As Usual” surrounding the “D’evils” of the streets.

His bars spoke of how he was going to get over with a fair share of “Regrets.”

But that would never stop his search for “Dead Presidents” which would ultimately make him “Brooklyn’s Finest.”

Hov has no doubt become just that.

He is arguably one of the world’s finest.

Reasonable Doubt”  is what I call nose music because when I listen to this album today, I swear I can smell the air of 1996. It takes me back like no other album I have ever heard.

The single “Aint No N####” featuring Foxy Brown gave the mainstream a good look at the hit making abilities of Jay with a hint of sex appeal that he would venture further into on future singles.

This was a formula I believe he learned from Biggie. It became a skill that he would hone which allowed him to make mainstream records with Hip-Hop rhyme scheme and lyrics.

With Biggie’s passing the following year, Jay picked up where he left off and kept that torch lit. This paved the way for many artist to have the same success.

His longevity is unmatched.

Yes, there have been artists who have been in the game for 20 years but nobody has had the true gift that has been Hov’s career.

Jay is our Bob Dylan. He is the emcee that I truly believe can make a great album at the age of 60.

Only time will tell.

Rick Ross Has A Change Of Heart About Chris Rock

It seems like Rick Ross has had a change of heart in regards to how he feels about comedian Chris Rock. Earlier this year Rick Ross expressed that he wasn’t a fan of Chris Rock or his opening monologue at The Oscars. When asked about Rock, Ross said,

“Nah nah, Chris Rock a cornball, and I’ma leave it right there, it wasn’t funny, stop He ain’t the one. I’m not a fan of his.”

Well now Rick Ross and Chris Rock have partnered as Ross hinted about their collaboration on Instagram. Apparently Chris Rock will be doing an interlude on Rick Ross’ next project. Well it’s good to see that they could partner together for the music. Is Chris Rock that funny to you though?

Parliament Funkadelic Musician Bernie Worrell Dead

(AllHipHop News) Legendary Parliament Funkadelic musician Bernie Worrell has died, aged 72.

The star passed away after a long battle with stage-four lung cancer and the announcement of his death was made on Facebook on Friday.

A sad message, believed to have been written by his wife Judie, reads: “At 11:54, June 24, 2016, Bernie transitioned Home to The Great Spirit. Rest in peace, my love – you definitely made the world a better place…”

The writer of the post urges fans to “Check BernieWorrell.com for further input” and “anything you want to post.”

Judie has been posting updates about her now-late husband’s medical condition online and last week she revealed to fans on Facebook that Bernie was on his deathbed.

The deceased legend helped pioneer the funk music genre in 1968 when he co-founded iconic band Parliament Funkadelic with fellow musicians George Clinton and bassist Bootsy Collins.

Worrell was a prolific keyboard player, who spearheaded the use of modern synthesizers, becoming one of the first musicians to use sounds from the Minimoog machine in Parliament Funkadelic’s classic 1978 single “Flash Light.”

Worrell’s contribution to the band’s sound influenced a host of other musical genres, such as New Wave, Hip-Hop and early Electronica.

He was also a regular collaborator with superstar post-punk band Talking Heads during the height of their success in the 1980s.

Worrell was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with 15 other members of Parliament Funkadelic in 2007.

He was also the recipient of an honorary Doctor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in May.

T.I.’s Stepdaughter Zonnique Addresses Gun Arrest At Atlanta Airport

(AllHipHopNews) Earlier this month, T.I’s stepdaughter Zonnique Pullins was arrested at Hartsfields-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, after attempting to pass her .380 semiautomatic pistol through TSA.

Today in an interview with TooFab, Pullins finally tells her side of the story. She claims that the messy situation was just a big mistake.

“I was running really late to the airport, so I was throwing a lot of stuff into my purse so I could get there and the gun is really small and it was in the bottom of my purse,” Pullins told TooFab. “I just forgot it was in there. I couldn’t see it, so when I went through security check, they pretty much found it.”

Pullins mother, Tameka “Tiny” Harris came to her daughter’s support and said she is the one who purchased the firearm for Pullins for protection because she’s out on her own now.

Harris also says she made sure that her daughter was properly trained with the weapon as well.

“A gun is no good if you don’t know what to do with it,” said Tiny. “These streets are crazy. This is my baby, my first love and I just want to make sure she’s safe.”

RZA Creating Video Game-Inspired Album

(AllHipHop News) Rapper RZA is using his passion for gaming to create an album inspired by the sounds of Atari game music.

The Wu-Tang Clan rapper has joined forces with the firm’s bosses to develop original tracks influenced by many of the video game pioneer’s titles, which include Pac-Man, Pong, Centipede and Asteroids.

“I’m so excited to work on these iconic games to deliver what I believe will be one of my best albums,” RZA said in a statement sent to Billboard. “I am going to invite some of my friends to join me and it will be Game On with the first beat!”

The project marks the second time the actor/director/producer has collaborated with Atari executives – in 2006, he did a voice over for their game “Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure.”

“We are thrilled to partner with RZA, one of the greatest hip-hop producers of all time,” added Fred Chesnais, CEO of Atari. “RZA is a multi-talented artist and soundtrack virtuoso and we cannot wait to hear the new tracks he creates based on Atari’s iconic video game sounds and music.”

The CIA Shoots Down Idea Of Gucci Mane Clone

The rumors of the new Gucci Mane clone have finally made their way to the CIA. According to BuzzFeed, A CIA spokesperson said,

“The internet rumors are not news and the Office of Public Affairs will not waste time on them.”

It’s kind of mind-blowing that fans cannot wrap their minds around the fact that Guwop decided to make a commitment to his health, and he made a decision to improve his life. After all, if the government could and would clone someone, out of all people why would they clone GUCCI MANE?!!?

Jeannine Mjoseth, a spokesperson for the National Human Genome Research Institute, directed BuzzFeed News to the organization’s public fact sheet on human cloning. The fact sheet reads,

“Despite several highly publicized claims, human cloning still appears to be fiction. There currently is no solid scientific evidence that anyone has cloned human embryos.”

EXCLUSIVE: Boyce Watkins Calls Democratic Party “The Plantation For Black People” (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Boyce Watkins has been a leading voice on numerous different social and political issues. The most talked about aspect of politics at the moment is the presidential contest between Republican businessman Donald Trump and Democratic former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Many people in the country are having a difficult time supporting either major party candidate, proven by the fact both Trump and Clinton have extremely high unfavorable ratings.

Watkins spoke to AllHipHop.com about the current state of the race for the White House. The University of Kentucky graduate echoed the concerns of a significant percentage of Americans.

“The reason I completely reject [politics] – I don’t talk to politicians when they call me – is because we don’t have a country where we have real choice. We just have the illusion of choice,” says Watkins. “If I give you a choice between eating rotten eggs or dog sh-t for dinner, that’s not really a choice.”

Watkins does not tell people not to vote, but he suggests that citizens can choose not to pick between two unwanted options. He also took issue with Democrats and the presidency of Barack Obama.

“When it comes to the Clintons, the Democratic Party definitely is the plantation for black people. We had a black president for 8 years, and really black people are worse off,” Watkins claims. “So when we got exactly what we wanted in the White House and we’re worse off, what is there to look forward to when Hillary Clinton is in office? Nothing.”

EXCLUSIVE: A$AP Ferg Reveals A$AP Mob’s ‘Cozy Tapes’ Is Nearly Ready For Release

(AllHipHop News) Members of the A$AP Mob have been preparing the crew’s Cozy Tapes for a while. The effort was originally set to be released as an LP spearheaded by A$AP Yams, but after his death in 2015, the rest of the Mob took over the completion of the project.

“[Cozy Tapes is] the Yams album he was working on before he passed. It’s basically like an A$AP collective like your Ruff Ryders’ Ryde or Die Vol. 1 or [The Diplomats’] Diplomatic Immunity,” explained A$AP Rocky in January. “[Yams] wrote down in his notes, and he would tell me who he wanted on there. We were about to start working on it.”

Five months later, it appears Cozy Tapes is on the verge of dropping. In an interview with AllHipHop.com, fellow A$AP Mob member A$AP Ferg discussed the status of the compilation.

“We just shot the album cover art. The music is pretty much done. It’s in the process of being mixed,” says Ferg. “I don’t have a date, but it should be out real soon.”

The “New Levels” spitter would not confirm any guests slated for the tape. However, fans should expect Ferg, Rocky, A$AP Nast, A$AP Twelvyy, A$AP Ant, and the entire NYC-based squad to provide contributions to Cozy Tapes.

“I can’t tell you that. Let it be a surprise,” responded the Harlem native when asked about possible features. “We got the whole Mob on there though.”

A$AP Ferg is scheduled to perform on Saturday, June 25 at the BET Experience in Los Angeles. Watch his recent performance on Late Night With Seth Meyers below.

Familiar Violence Leads To Mayweather’s Crown For Keith Thurman Vs. Shawn Porter

In the strangeness that is professional boxing, often the cream of the crop grow up in the amateurs as friends and teammates only to eagerly meet up in the professional arena later as the fiercest of adversaries.

Such will be the case when Keith Thurman (26-0, 22KOs) and Shawn Porter (26-1-1, 16KOs) face either other on June 25, 2016 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for their CBS prime time battle for Thurman’s WBA World Welterweight Title.

While Thurman was a little more generous towards Porter in this respect, recounting how they had both broken bread in the past and met one another’s parents during various camps and international competitions, Porter as the challenger for Thurman’s belt, was a little less touchy feely.

“Keith and I are friends, but we’re not best pals.  We’re not besties. If I needed help, he’d probably be the tenth, fifteenth or twentieth person I would call on the list,” recounted Porter dourly.

Nevertheless, much has been made of many atypical issues surrounding this fight at 147.

With the recent passing of legendary Greatest of All Time boxer Muhammad Ali, this fight between Thurman and Porter will be the first live televised prime time fight on CBS since Ali lost his heavyweight title in a 15 round split decision upset to Leon Spinks on February 15, 1978.

In addition to this historical flourish, this weekend’s fight is a redo for a fight originally set for March 12, 2016 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut.  Thurman and Porter were set to fight in Connecticut earlier this year until Thurman was involved in a car accident in February, suffering whiplash injuries to his neck when his air bag deployed.

While the seriousness of Thurman’s injuries were initially met with a hint of skepticism by the opposing camp, with the current fight now close on the horizon, it would seem that everyone is eager to see what most think will be a true test for both the undefeated Thurman.

Thurman had a less than stellar victory over a fighter that he was supposed to beat in former WBA World Welterweight Champion Luis Collazo (36-7, 19KOs), and challenger Shawn Porter, who after losing his IBF World Welterweight title and undefeated status to Britain’s Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) in 2014 is now on a winning streak after defeating Adrien Broner (32-2, 24KOs) in his second straight victory since June 2015.

When it comes to the very palpable but burdensome expectations from both fans and boxing pundits alike that winner of this fight immediately and definitively fill the void left by the now retired Floyd Mayweather,  Porter and Thurman appear to take a very different views on the task given their current places within the 147 pecking order.

“This fight has been in my mind for a number of years,” said Porter.  “I’ve been thinking that this fight would happen eventually and it was a fight that I wanted to happen.  I’m all about being the guy that is considered the guy.  I’m all about being the number 1,” stated Porter.

As for Thurman, his view was more about seeing the entire forest along with the closest trees.

“I’m a big fan of what I call the Mayweather shadow.  Mayweather’s legacy has cast a shadow over the 147 division and the real issue is that Mayweather was at the top for over a decade,” mused Thurman.

“Yeah, I would love to get through Danny Garcia and solidify more of the debate of the best at 147 but to see the best at 147, it’s going to take a little bit of time,” continued Thurman adding, “you need to really see who is going to be the top dog for the nest three to five years and then you got a king.  But the king needs to rule.  Kings don’t come up and come down and do this and that.  Kings rule.”

However, when it comes to both Thurman and Porter’s ability to thoroughly enjoy destroying one another this weekend in order to assume the path towards becoming the 147lb division’s heir apparent, both seem to welcome the task with open arms – irrespective of the past or the future.

“He is in the way of my dreams and I’m in the way of his dreams but it’s still a very fun process, ” said Thurman, adding genuinely, “to have a rival be so personal and somebody that you really know and that you’re been cheering for – the 25th is the only day that I’m not allowed to cheer for Shawn Porter.”

D’Angelo Russell Blasts Lil B Over BasedGod Curse (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) After Lil B cursed Kevin Durant and James Harden to never win a championship, many NBA teams have knelt at the altar of the BasedGod. However, it seems like one pro baller is still not buying into the idea the California rapper has the power to block players from winning a ring.

DraftKings caught up with D’Angelo Russell of the Los Angeles Lakers and Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves to have them answer questions using emojis.

When it came time to get a reaction about Lil B, Towns referred to the “California Boy” as the G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time). Russell decided to hold up a picture of sh-t.

“You gotta understand BasedGod,” said Towns.

“Yeah, what he said. I don’t,” replied Russell.

The 20-year-old former Ohio State guard was also one of the people cursed by Lil B.

Beanie Sigel On Modern Rap Music: Ain’t Nobody Checking Nobody (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) With a catalog that includes The Truth, The Reason, and The B. Coming, Beanie Sigel is one of the most respected veterans in the history of Hip Hop culture.

The Philadelphia representative is currently working on his next project, but what does the emcee who built his reputation in the early 2000’s think about modern rap music?

Sigel did an interview with HipHopIsReal, and the Broad Street Bully shared his thoughts on today’s Hip Hop tunes.

“To me there’s no feeling in it. I love it when I’m in the club,” said Beans.

The 42-year-old wordsmith also stated those type of records are enjoyable in that public setting, but he prefers to listen to cuts by artists such as The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, and Scarface when he is alone.

“Two of the best that ever done it – Tupac and Biggie Smalls. They both died in their early twenties,” Sigel stated. “So you look at the rappers that are out now and the content of the music that they’re talking about, [they’re] in their twenties…”

He added, “You gotta say what you mean and mean what you say. And you gotta repeat it. That’s what’s wrong with stuff right now. Ain’t nobody checking nobody. It ain’t no repercussions for nothing.”

Miami’s South Beach Is About To Sizzle With The Opening Of King Of Diamonds

(AllHipHop News) A reality show centered around the famous gentlemen’s club King of Diamonds is coming to the Internet, according to a press release issued to the media this morning (June 24).

On July 4th, the famous King of Diamonds will partner with T.I. and his new V Live!, to open a massive gentlemen’s club in Miami – right on Ocean Drive.

In 2008, the first King of Diamonds opened in Miami Gardens, which is about a 40 minute drive from the action on South Beach. The new King of Diamonds is in walking distance from the Clevelander and Wet Willies.

The King of Diamonds on Ocean Drive is expected to benefit from the massive amount of foot traffic on Ocean Drive.

The Gentlemens club is owned by rapper Akinyele.

Until the opening of his world renowned King of Diamonds club, Ak was best known for the hit record “Put It In Your Mouth” and his legendary verse on Main Source’s “Live At The Barbeque” which featured a younger Nas.

Not only is Akinyele making Hip-Hop history by putting the first gentlemen’s club on Ocean Drive, but King of Diamonds is also the first black owned business on the strip as well.

“Our generation has spoken, and now we will be the first black owned club on Ocean Drive in the heart of South Beach,” Akinyele said in a press release.

The new web series will center around King of Diamonds and focuses specifically on the trials and tribulations of opening the club, managing the dancers and handling the patrons.

On any given day, you can catch an array of NFL, NBA and rap stars spending more cash in King of Diamond’s in one night, than the average ATM machine dispenses in an entire month.

There’s a reason why rappers like Rick Ross love to swoop in on private helicopters or pull up with a Brinks truck, just to spend millions of dollars inside of the club.

It is all because of the women.

King of Diamonds is known for its beautiful, curvy girls with their acrobatic tricks and the web series will introduce viewers to several of King of Diamonds’ most popular exotic dancers.

The trailers are expected to hit Internet on Monday according to the press release, while the web series will make its debut on July 4th, the same day the strip club opens.
