Hit Rap Group Migos Team With Fendi After Missing Opportunity With Versace

(AllHipHop News)It has been a great week for Hip-Hop trio Migos, following the release of their hit album CULTURE.

The “Bad & Boujee” rappers’ latest release is currently sitting at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 charts, and the group is taking full advantage of their popularity.

The Migos will be the featured guests on an upcoming episode of the “Ellen Degeneres Show” where they will perform their hit “Bad & Boujee,” on February 15th.

When the group scored their first big hit with the song “Versace” featuring Drake from their mixtape “Y.R.N. (Young Rich N##gas),” company officials from the brand wanted to work with the group.

But they “missed the opportunity to go and link” with reps from the company.

Now, The Migos will join a group of other rappers who are helping Fendi and head designer Karl Lagerfeld relaunch Fendi’s website, while celebrating Lagerfeld’s 50-plus-year run as a designer for the Italian fashion house.

Other artists on the bill for the Fendi party include Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Keith Ape and Metro Boomin. The event, which will take place on February 10th, is part of the annual New York Fashion Week celebration.

The following day (February 11), Migos will head to Los Angeles for a show at the Novo, which will be presented by Microsoft.

So apparently Nas was having some fun down in Houston for Super Bowl weekend & he’s apparently been ignoring a chick from Atlanta that he was messing with, and the girl and another girl decided to sound off in his comments. One of the chicks seems to be pretty illiterate and hiding behind a fake page; she really isn’t making any sense either as she’s brought another woman into an online feud over Nas.

The other woman is going off saying that she doesn’t want Nas, and Nas wants her. Woman #2 also says that a real woman would DM her instead of being messy in Nas’ comments.

They say good D withdrawals will have a woman’s psyche messed up though. LOL. Nasir call these girls. LOL.

One woman says that she’s kicking Nas out of her house, and the other woman just wants to be left alone, as she says that Nas did her wrong in the past, and that he’s the other girl’s problem now. Somewhere in the conversation word of a secret baby and alleged child support payments made by Nas’ pops up too. Oop! It doesn’t look like the women came to any resolve, but they both claim that Nas is f-cking a lot of h*es on the side. And it looks like the new chick tagged the ex chick to start some shhhh, and the ex chick says despite her and Nas being on bad terms, they are still smashing. LOL. Carry on!

Rae Sremmurd Up For An Award At Nickelodeon’s “Kids Choice Awards” This March

(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop duo Rae Sremmurd is up for an award during Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.

The guys will compete head-to-head with artists like Daya, Hailee Steinfeld, Kelsea Ballerini, Lucas Graham, The Chainsmokers, Twenty One Pilots and Solange Knowles.

All of the artists mentioned above are nominated for “Favorite New Artist,” during the 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards, which will take place in March.

WWE superstar John Cena will host the 30th annual Kids’ Choice Awards, which will air live on Nickelodeon on March 11th at 8:00 pm.

In addition to Rae Sremmurd’s upcoming performance at the Kids’ Choice Awards, the guys are working with producer Mike Will Made It on his upcoming album Ransom 2.

They are also preparing to release a record with Gucci Mane and Kendrick Lamar.

(AllHipHop News) Lil Yachty and Mike Will Made-It will recreate a hip-hop classic during a performance at the upcoming Grammy Awards.

The buzzing rapper and the super producer are linking with Carly Rae Jepsen, to rework Rob Bass and DJ E-Z Rock’s classic “It Takes Two.”

The collaboration will air during extended commercial television breaks, which will be sponsored by Target.

In the spot, Carly and Little Yachty take over a Target store “as it becomes a product-filled playground.”

“Music has always been a powerful way for us to connect with our guests,” said Rick Gomez, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Target. “This spot captures the fun of a Target run, the only place where you can stock up on groceries and find the perfect bathing suit, against the backdrop of an unexpected remake of ‘It Takes Two.’ We couldn’t think of a better place to share it than during the GRAMMYs, music’s biggest night.”

 

The three-minute spot was shot by award winning director Roman Coppola,.

Lil Yachty and Carly Rae Jepsen’s remake of “It Takes Two” will debut on streaming platforms on February 10th.

Their performance of the extended commercial will air during the Grammy Awards on February 12th.

Woman Claims The Game’s Crew Kicked Her Out Of Party Because Of Her Skin Tone

(AllHipHop Rumors) I want to say I’m fake shocked, but given some of The Game’s past antics, eh nothing is shocking!

Say it ain’t so! Ah man! A woman is claiming that The Game’s cousin/ crew kicked her out of The Game’s Super Bowl party because she was dark skinned.

She says her and her friend were invited to the party, and that she and Game even had a decent conversation. She said The Game wasn’t the problem, but his cousin told her friend that she should’ve never brought “dark meat” aka a dark skinned woman to the party. WOW!

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the plot twist is, the woman said that Game’s cousin was dark skinned and fat himself.

The woman took to Instagram to record a video about the encounter as she says she wants to share what women of darker complexions have to encounter.

“I wanted to open up about a incident that happened to me yesterday when I experienced racism by my own kind because a guy did not want dark meat (ME) at a party! So I decided to open up about this because I wanted to speak up for other darker skin women that have dealt with this and continue to deal with this in Hollywood. My #blackisbeautiful and I do this for all my black queens! ✊?”

Ouch! Whether you choose to believe it or not, there are a lot of black men who still choose girls based on their skin tone. It’s crazy that some believe that light skin women are more attractive. Black is beautiful in all shades!

Did Matthew Knowles Just Reveal The Sex Of Beyonce’s Twins?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Soooooo it looks like Beyonce’s relationship with her father Matthew Knowles is still not completely back to what it used to be.

Queen Bey fired her longtime manager/father a few years back, and seemed to be very disgusted about him cheating on her mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, as well as having kids outside of their marriage.

According to the IB Times, Papa Knowles revealed that he found out Beyonce was pregnant like the rest of us. He says he didn’t even know until a friend of his text him and congratulated him!

“Let me tell you what happened. I got a first text, and I was like, ‘Why is this person saying congratulations?’ Then I get a second text from one of my students at Texas Southern, and I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ He was like, ‘Go to the web.’ I didn’t know myself,” Knowles explained.”

I guess the Queen Bey was scared that Matthew would be out selling the story like he was allegedly trying to sell that Destiny Child memorabilia. But that’s none of my business. LOL

Anyway, apparently Knowles got too excited with another interview with The Insider as he seemed to reveal the sex of Beyonce’s twins.

“And Blue Ivy is going to have some brothers and sisters. She is already excited,” said Knowles.

The interviewer responded with, “Does that mean Beyonce is having a boy and a girl?”

Matthew quickly responded saying that he didn’t know what the sexes of the babies were as he was just speaking in general. Hmmmmmm it sounds like he was just trying to save his face and just revealed all. LOL.

Beyonce’s relationship with her father can’t be that great right now if he had to find out his oldest daughter was pregnant via the internet. As great at Knowles was, I believe he was his own downfall.

The Boy Illinois Teams Up with YP on Buzz Single “Downtown”

After remixing the Migo’s “T-Shirt” the Illini spitter drops another banger with a classic Chi- town artist, YP. For the track “Downtown” the two are rapping over a simple beat, but find ways to keep the fans engaged.

(AllHipHop News) The positive feedback for the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton as well as The New Edition Story mini-series has put a lot of attention on possible projects about other Hip Hop and R&B stars.

It was revealed Nas’ life will be told in a forthcoming BET program titled Street Dreams, and the highly anticipated 2Pac movie All Eyez On Me is set for release this summer.

Yet another chart-topping 1990’s act is getting the biopic treatment as well.

Jodeci member Mr. Dalvin informed Q102.1 that a film about the legendary R&B group will likely be finished by the end of 2017.

“They started the process last September. They finished the script, and it’s going into production next month. So we’re looking at an end-of-the-year release,” said Dalvin. “VH1 bought the rights.”

Jodeci is responsible for creating popular songs like “Forever My Lady,” “Cry for You,” “Feenin’,” and “Freek’n You.”

Dalvin, JoJo, DeVante, and K-Ci’s first three certified platinum LPs reached #1 on the R&B Album chart.

After a 20 year break, the group returned in 2015 with The Past, The Present, The Future album.

Jodeci has also been seen on Puff Daddy’s “Bad Boy Reunion Tour” and the revamped Showtime At The Apollo over the last few months.

Fans Want Kanye West To Perform At Super Bowl LII

(AllHipHop News) While most NFL fans are still discussing the New England Patriots’ stunning victory over the Atlanta Falcons, or Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl halftime performance, a growing number of people are already looking towards Super Bowl LII.

There’s a new campaign aiming to get rapper Kanye West as the featured entertainer for Super Bowl LII.

Shortly after Lady Gaga’s 13-minute medley of her hits during Super Bowl LI, a hashtag called #KanyeforSuperBowl52 started circulating on social media.

Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian is in support of the idea, and she retweeted the suggestion to her 50 million Twitter followers.

Boi-1da Calls Tory Lanez A “Troll” And “Drake Stan”

(AllHipHop News) Tory Lanez has not been shy about sharing his views toward Drake.

Over the last few years, Lanez has taken numerous shots at his fellow Toronto representative.

Drake even fired back on “Summer Sixteen.”

The competition heated up again when Lanez released his own version of the Dancehall-esque “Controlla”.

Drake’s longtime production partner Boi-1da also jumped into the fray by dissing Tory on Twitter.

“One dude is selling out Madison Square Garden 4 nights, and the other dude trolling for attention & record sales. There’s levels to this,” wrote 1da in an August ’16 tweet.

In a recent interview with the Motel City Podcast, the award-winning producer discussed another Drake-defending tweet he posted that Lanez apparently took offense to.

“I tweeted out, ‘If I hear one more wack ass Dancehall song…” said 1da. “Tory Lanez responded. He’s another one, but I wasn’t necessarily talking about him. But if the shoe fits, then wear it.”

He continued, “I just think that dude’s corny as hell. He’s a troll. So I just troll him back… I have nothing against the guy, but we all know you’re a Drake Stan… We know you look up to Drake. We know you have Drake pajamas.”

Boi-1da later added he believes Lanez is talented but lacks his own sound.

“Figure it out bro. Don’t come at Drake. Drake put the whole city on,” declared the Jamaican-born Canadian.

Back in the day, Big Pun and Jay Z had some rumored instances that may not have even been instances, according to Cuban Link. (Do you all even know who Cuban Link is?) Anyway, either way, there was a rivalry between Jay Z (The Roc) and Fat Pun & Fat Joe (Terror Squad).

Now, today we celebrate the live of Big Pun – one of the greatest ever. Today is the anniversary of his passing. Well it is only fitting that I heard a rumor than Jay Z may have signed his son Chris Rivers. If you claim Hip-Hop, you know Chris Rivers is nice on the mic and has been doing his thing for YEARS. Do you think he could have been scooped up by Jay Z? I don’t know, but Jay Z has been signing people left and right. This could really be an ill chamber for The Roc Nation family.

Ali Vegas Suggests Nas Had Him Blackballed From The Industry (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) At one point around the turn of the century, Ali Vegas was a top buzzing young talent from New York City.

After failing to release an album at the time, the Queens rhymer never achieved mainstream success.

Vegas sat down with DoggieDiamondsTV to talk about why he feels he was blocked by others in the industry from moving forward.

“My talent, it was so revered and I mean it still is. When you’re revered, you’re also feared and the people that was in power was fearful,” said Vegas.

He added, “[DJ] Clue takes a lot of the blame for it… No Clue is just the face of blackballing Ali Vegas. He ain’t got the power to do it.”

Vegas then began telling a story of how Dr. Dre supposedly suggested he, Ali, and Eminem perform together at the American Music Awards.

According to the “Theme of N.Y.” creator, the performance idea was nixed because Nas supposedly had a problem with Ali’s rise.

“I guess he really felt like I was trying to replace him. Or even if it was something deeper where Trackmasters promised him something,” said Vegas.

The conversation also included Ali saying he planned to do a collaboration with Nas and Rakim for the unreleased Generation Gap album.

Apparently, the track never materialized because Vegas claims Nas kept raising his feature price for a verse.

Ali Vegas and Nas were both connected to Trackmasters Entertainment and Columbia Records during a time in their careers.

Stat Quo Explains Why He Feels Dr. Dre’s ‘Compton’ Album Was Wack (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) When Dr. Dre dropped the Compton album in 2015, it was the first studio release for the Hip Hop legend since 1999’s 2001.

The project featured a host of stars such as Ice Cube, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, The Game, and Anderson .Paak.

Compton opened at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart with 295,000 first-week units moved, and it went on to earn Gold status from the RIAA.

Despite the commercial success, not everyone is a fan of Dre’s third LP.

Stat Quo, formerly of Dre’s Aftermath label, spoke to HipHopDX.

“Sh-t was wack. I love Dre to death but it was wack,” said Stat Quo about Compton.

The Atlanta native added, “It’s not that it wasn’t put together quality wise. It’s not that it wasn’t quality beats and sh-t like that. It just didn’t capture the attention of the world. The only reason it got where it was was because the movie [Straight Outta Compton] was so phenomenal. And that’s no diss. People think if you don’t like something you’re dissing it. I love Dre. He’s my everything. I helped him [with Compton] but that don’t mean it’s the sh-t just cause I helped. We f-cked up.”

Stat Quo also discussed why his own debut album Statlanta was not released via Aftermath.

Wale Drops Visuals For “Running Back” Featuring Lil Wayne (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Wale performed his new single “Running Back” during a January episode of First Take.

Now, a day after The Patriots’ Tom Brady orchestrated the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history, the MMG rapper introduced the visuals for the Lil Wayne-assisted song.

Wale chose not to go with an obvious football theme for the video, instead, he gave his fans a performance clip.

“Running Back” is expected to be part of the upcoming Shine album.

Wale’s previous project, The Album About Nothing, arrived in 2015.

Bruno Mars: Black Music Gives America Its Swag

(AllHipHop News) Bruno Mars is an internationally known music superstar.

While the singer-songwriter has built a reputation for making catchy Pop tunes, Mars told Latina that he sees music founded by black musicians, like Hip Hop and R&B, as a powerful force.

“When you say ‘black music,’ understand that you are talking about rock, jazz, R&B, reggae, funk, doo-wop, hip-hop, and Motown. Black people created it all. Being Puerto Rican, even salsa music stems back to the Motherland [Africa],” said Mars. “So, in my world, black music means everything. It’s what gives America its swag.”

The 31-year-old Grammy winner was born in Hawaii, and his parent’s lineage includes Puerto Rican, Filipino as well as Spanish ancestry.

Mars, “I’m a child raised in the ‘90s. Pop music was heavily rooted in R&B from Whitney, Diddy, Dr. Dre, Boyz II Men, Aaliyah, TLC, Babyface, New Edition, Michael, and so much more. As kids this is what was playing on MTV and the radio. This is what we were dancing to at school functions and BBQs.”

Throughout his career, the “24K Magic” performer collaborated with numerous rap acts such as B.o.B., Eminem, Royce da 5’9″, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, and Cee Lo Green.

However, not everyone is happy with Bruno’s embrace of Hip Hop.

Angie Stone, a former member of the rap trio The Sequence, expressed her concerns that Mars and Mark Ronson’s smash hit “Uptown Funk” ripped off the group’s 1979 single “Funk You Up.”

VH1 Releases ‘The Breaks’ Movie Online Ahead Of TV Series Premiere (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) VH1 is set to premiere the network’s original television series The Breaks later this month.

The forthcoming show spawned from a 2016 TV movie of the same name.

Fans now have a chance to watch, or re-watch, the well-received original film via YouTube.

The Breaks follows Nikki (Afton Williamson), David (David Call), Ahm (Antoine Harris), and DeeVee (Mack Wilds) as they attempt to navigate their way through the music industry of the early 1990’s.

Last year, Wilds spoke to AllHipHop.com about preparing for his role as a DJ and producer.

“I guess the people I used the most for inspiration would be DJ Premier or Pete Rock. I watched tapes of them and read up on them,” said the 27-year-old Staten Island native. “I even got a little tutelage from both of them to make sure the character was portrayed authentically.”

DJ Premier served as executive music producer and composer for the production.

In addition, the cast included Method Man and Wood Harris.

The Breaks movie drew in 2.6 million total viewers for its January ’16 premiere and encore airings.

That was a 42% gain in VH1 viewership for the month among adults under 50.

The Breaks TV show is scheduled to premiere February 20 at 9 pm ET.

Rapper/actor Tip “T.I.” Harris and G.O.O.D. Music artist Teyana Taylor have been attached to the television cast as well.

Anderson .Paak Discusses The Time His Dad Tried To Kill His Mom

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Anderson Paak is up for two Grammy awards, including best new artist.

But his road to success was anything but easy. And best urban contemporary album, thanks to his break-through album, Malibu.

The rapper, who is preparing his upcoming collaboration with Flying Lotus, as well as the debut album from his band, The Free Nationals, sat down with CBS and discussed the intricacies of his career.

“He told me he liked the pain in my voice,” Anderson Paak said of some early advice just before he was signed by super producer, Dr. Dre. “You got that pain in your voice. You got a story in your voice and when I hear it, it sounds like you, only you,” Dr. Dre told the aspiring artist.

But before he found success with Dr. Dre, Anderson Paak released a series of underground records under the name “Breeezy Lovejoy.”

“I thought it was cool, I thought girls would like that name,” he said of his former moniker.

Anderson, who lives in the Koreatown section of Los Angeles with his wife, sat down for a candid interview with CBS News.

According to Anderson Paak, the pain came from real-life incidents, including one in which his father almost beat his mother to death.

“He went from being there every day to I would only see him a few times a week,” Anderson Paak said. “And then, until the day I literally saw him on top of my mom really trying to take my mom’s life. So that was the last time I seen him.”

Anderson Paak suffered another blow, when his mother and new husband ended up in jail, for tax evasion.

Music became the youngster’s refuge in a local Baptist church where Anderson became proficient on the drums.

Anderson Paak will be one of the featured performers during the upcoming Grammy Awards.

The 2017 awards ceremony takes place on Sunday, February 12th and will air live from the Staples Center on CBS.
