Although N.W.A will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame today, unlike many inductees, the group will not be performing as part of the ceremony. Ice Cube revealed that N.W.A would not perform in an interview with The New York Times.
“Nah, we’re not performing. I guess we really didn’t feel like we were supported enough to do the best show we could put on,” said Ice Cube
When Ice Cube was asked if the lack of support came from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame organizers, he replied saying,
“Pretty much, yeah. We wanted to do it on a whole other level, and that just couldn’t happen. But we’re totally honored, humbled and appreciative to the Hall for even just considering us, inducting us and inviting us.”
Man, wouldn’t it have been nice to see them perform!
DMX recently stopped by the Drink Champs podcast to share a pretty legendary story with hosts N.O.R.E and DJ EFN about the time Diddy offered him a record deal after initially turning him down. X recalled auditioning for Diddy before getting signed to Def Jam, and while the audition didn’t lead to a deal, DMX said that he respects Diddy for telling him to his face what he didn’t like about his rap skills. Weeks later, Diddy decided to offer DMX a bigger and better deal when he found out he was signing to Def Jam, but X wouldn’t budge because he felt like he couldn’t sign with Puff if he couldn’t see his talent from the beginning. While this is a great anecdote, we are more concerned with X’s appearance and the sound of his voice. We hope it’s not drugs. We just want to see DMX win again!
Either Cuba Gooding Jr. is an extreme Young Thug fan, or he has taken trolling to a new level. Fans weren’t too kind to Young Thug on one of his recent Instagram posts as they criticized his music. Cuba quickly came to Thug’s defense saying,
“This is better than literally anything The Beatles ever put out. Fam, I swear you finna make me catch a body. First off Thugga is an amazing rapper on a technical level, as well as being a great lyricist and stone cold G.”
It looks like Gooding may be on more than alcohol from the looks of this rant and that video of him partying and putting a whole cell phone in his mouth in a nightclub. He openly admitted that his role as OJ Simpson in the FX American Crime series also took a toll on him. Let’s hope he’s trolling! The ‘Cuba Thugger Jr.’ tape is coming soon!
In interesting news, Drake and Odell Beckham Jr. are currently roommates! The New York Giant has been spending the off season at Drake’s house as Drake works on ‘Views From The 6.’ Odell said he and Drake instantly clicked because they have the same mindset and they want each other to have nothing but success. Odell says their interaction at Houston Appreciation Weekend was the start of a friendship that him and Drake will carry through a lifetime. Beckham says he has just been hanging out with Drake and working out. Apparently Drake loves to throw wild house parties over there also. What are your thoughts on this new roommate situation?
(AllHipHop News) Details are emerging from Washington D.C.’s WJLA that MMG rapper Fat Trel has been arrested again.
The arrest comes just 12 days after the MMG signed rapper was arrested on March 27th for trying to use counterfeit money at Hanover’s Maryland Live Casino.
This time around the 25 year-old D.C. native was arrested on DWI, narcotics distribution and other charges.
Arlington County Police say Fat Trel was arrested overnight in the area of I-395 North and S. Joyce Street,
Trel caught the attention of police when he was caught speeding and driving on a revoked license.
No word on how the separate arrests will affect each other at the time of print.
According to reports, in his previous arrest Trel was apprehended after giving nine fake $50 dollar bills to the table pit boss.
The casino said that Trel’s knockoff money was easy to identify due to matching serial numbers on each bill.
(AllHipHop Features) Ray J may very well be the reigning king of reality television. The 35-year-old entertainer has starred on Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business, Bad Girls All-Star Battle, and Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. However, it was the two seasons of the relationship show For The Love Of Ray J that first established the singer-actor as an undisputed champion of unscripted programs.
Fast forward to 2016, Ray has found his soul mate in fellow LHHH star Princess Love, so he no longer needs to search for a better half on the small screen. Instead, Ray J is helping other people potentially find a romantic partner through the new WE tv series Driven To Love.
The hour-long program is a blend of the TV classic The Dating Game and the long-running game show Cash Cab. On Driven To Love, single daters get to question five prospects as they ride in an SUV driven by Ray J. Pick ups that fail to impress get kicked to the curb. The vehicular speed dating format features Ray serving as both host and adviser.
AllHipHop.com’s Yohance Kyles spoke with Ray J about Driven To Love. The Mississippi born, California raised showbiz veteran also discusses his latest music releases, his upcoming projects, his perceived legacy, and more in this exclusive interview.
What first attracted you to want to do Driven To Love?
I’ve been on a couple of dating shows before, so I’ve been down the dating show road. To come back to be an executive producer and create this new twist on dating, I thought it would just be hella fun. Being engaged now and having a new perspective on life, I thought it would be really cool. The whole time I was playing wingman and hooking people up. I was having a lot of fun, and I was taking it seriously making sure they connected.
You definitely come off as more than just a traditional game show host.
I got a lot of jokes. I say what everybody’s thinking. It’s a pretty good dynamic.
You’re very interactive with the people on the show. Was that concept presented to you or did you develop your own role for the series?
They just told me to be Ray J. I know how to do this reality thing. I think me connecting with a regular person is funny. Us having those conversations and trying to figure it out together is a good time. I knew I would connect, because I’m good with people.
One of the segments that stood out for me was “Phone Check.”
Yeah, the “Phone Check” is always the best one.
I think the concept of letting someone you’re dating look into your phone is kind of scary for a lot of people, but I’m sure that led to some really interesting TV moments.
It definitely gets critical and intense.
Did you ever have anyone say, “I don’t think I want to do that.”
A lot of people wanted to get out of the car. I had to convince them to go along with it. In a lot of the scenes you don’t see, I was like, “Nah man, don’t get out the car. Trust me. You know I got you too. Give me that phone.”
You mentioned before about your experience on reality TV. You have the Love & Hip Hop franchise in California, and you’re doing Driven To Love in New York. How were you able to balance doing both shows?
It’s not that hard. I have another show I’m shooting on BET called Music Moguls with Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Birdman, and Dame Dash. I got another show on Reelz that I produce called Hollywood Hillbillies. We’re on our 4th season. Then I got another show I’m working on now on the Food Network. And I’m doing a show with my sister [Brandy] on Fox.
This is what I do. I’ve created a brand around reality TV from day 1 when it first started. From there, I’ve capitalized off creating great relationships. My production company – we’re nonstop. I feel good. I like having multiple things going on, and I have a strong team that makes sure we juggle it all the right way.
When can we expect the Music Moguls show?
Music Moguls will be out in June. Hopefully, the show will come on right after the BET Awards.
When your song “Caddi (Real Life Playa)” first came out, it was reported that it was a response to Kanye West. Was that actually your intention?
I dropped it on my own social media the right way. You can listen to it. It’s really not like that. It’s just a smooth song talking about how I’ve been a player before, but now I’m changing my life. The girl that I’m with, she’s the one.
That seems to be a theme that you’re going with now. Even with “Curtains Closed,” it feels like you’re saying, “I’m closing the door to the old Ray, and I’m entering a new life with my fiancée.”
Yeah, that’s what I’m focused on right now. It’s about that time for me to grow up, do bigger things, build bigger brands, and be a one-woman man. That’s where I’m at.
With you releasing all these singles, is there a plan to do a full album soon?
Maybe. I don’t know. I’ve always been independent, so when I feel like the world wants a Ray J album I’ll give it to them. But until then, I’m gonna keep jabbing them with singles and finding my way musically.
The industry has been shifting the last few years. It almost feels like the concept of an album is fading out. With streaming, it seems to be a major move happening. How has that affected you as a music artist and where do you see the industry going as far as the way music is presented to the public?
I really haven’t thought about it. I love music, but that’s like the last thing on the schedule for our business. It’s something that I love to do from the heart. That’s why I put out songs, because they’re songs from the heart that I care about. Other than that, that’s not a way that we get it financially. We make okay money, and it’s cool. But it’s nothing like what we do in television and this new venture that we’re working on.
I don’t know if you saw this, but last year Vince Staples did an interview where he was talking about you. Vince said he felt like you were one of the greatest West Coast artists of all time. He went on to say almost everything that’s happening in black culture right now, you’ve had a hand in. Did you see that?
Yeah, I laughed at that. He was keeping it real though. I appreciate that. I don’t like to boast about what I do, but he knows what’s going on. A lot of people on the West Coast know, because they know my real life and the real business side of it. Everybody else around the globe and in the other states don’t really know the situations that go on on the day-to-day business side out here on the West Coast. I respect that from him and much love to him.
Speaking of your business work, I wanted to ask you about these Scoot-E bikes you’re endorsing. Can you talk about the product and what led you to want to join forces with that brand?
I think it’s cool. I’m a brand ambassador for it with Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, and Diddy. We’re having a whole lot of fun. This thing is starting to catch a new wave. Yesterday I was with Snoop. I was texting Wiz [Khalifa] and French Montana. Everybody’s getting into these Scoot-E bikes. I think it’s perfect for the summer. We’re even centering it around Christmas time too. It’s going to be a real good time.
Knowing how you love to incorporate your different brands, could we possibly see a “Ridden To Love” spin-off featuring Scoot-E bikes?
(AllHipHop News) Veteran NYC deejay Cipha Sounds is not just a former Hot 97 radio personality and current co-host of the Juan Epstein podcast. Cipha is also a stand-up comedian and curator of The No Small Talk Comedy Series on Tidal.
With his years of experience in the comedy realm, AllHipHop.com connected with Ciph to get his list of joke tellers that he believes should be etched on a potential Mount Rushmore of stand-up comics. The Bronx native selected four funny men that are responsible for causing millions of laughs in comedy clubs, concert halls, and living rooms around the world.
He can rock any crowd. He still loves the art form 100%. He can rock for hours and hours on stage. He will take a regular conversation you have had and go on stage and make that sh-t the funniest comedy bit ever.
Patrice O’Neal
R.I.P. He would spit the truth in the funniest ways possible. He would make a comedy club almost uncomfortable at times with the truth, but then bring it all the way back from the depths of uncomfortable and make it the funniest show ever.
Louis C.K.
The guy is a killer on stage and was coming up with new hours every year. That is very hard to do. But I also like him cause he doesn’t give a sh-t about being the “man” in the industry. He does what the f-ck he wants. It’s impressive.
Jerry Seinfeld
We all know the obvious things that he’s done to change the game. What I like about him is that even though he is rich and famous, he still wants to get on stage all the time and tell jokes – write jokes from scratch, get on stage and tell them, fix and edit them, and then try them again.

(AllHipHop Rumors) Many Hip Hop fans have been waiting for Andre 3000 to finally follow after his OutKast partner Big Boi by releasing an official solo studio album. Despite rumors and innuendos for years, that 3 Stacks LP has never arrived. Last night, comedy legend Chris Rock reignited some people’s hope a musical body of work from Dre is on the way.
Rock posted a picture on both Twitter and Instagram that included him, Andre, Dave Chappelle, D-Nice, Jarobi White of A Tribe Called Quest, and Jack White of The White Stripes. The caption for the photo read, “Me, Dave, D-nice, Jack White and Jarobi hard at work on the new Andre 3000 album.”
The statement had social media users questioning if Rock was just joking or if the post was a hint that something was indeed coming from the Grammy winning emcee. Dre was recently in the studio with Kanye West, and in January he said, “I’ve been holding [back] for a long time, so now I’m really interested in figuring out some type of music to do. I’m always recording.”
This is not the first time an industry insider used Twitter to suggest Andre 3000 was set to return with a new LP. Back in 2013, BET executive Stephen Hill tweeted Dre would drop an album the following year which did not happen.
Check out Chris Rock’s social media posts and reaction tweets below. What do you think? Was Chris trolling or did he just reveal Andre 3000 is set to drop a solo album?
(AllHipHop News) It has been well reported that Jay Z was interested in signing fellow Brooklyn rhymer Joey Bada$$ to his Roc Nation company at one time. Joey even rapped about it on A$AP Rocky’s “1 Train” and his own track “Ready.” The RN deal never happened, and the Pro Era front man decided instead to just build with the independent label Cinematic Music Group.
DJ Whoo Kid caught up with Joey to get more details on why the “Unorthodox” spitter chose not to sign with Jay. According to Bada$$, it was Hov’s own words that convinced him to stay indie.
“I even read Jay Z’s Decoded book. There’s this one chapter where when he went to go meet with Russell Simmons to sign to Def Jam he said his only thought while sitting across the table from Russell Simmons was, ‘Damn, I don’t want to be signed to this n-gga. I want to be this n-gga,'” explained Joey. “I kind of had that same perspective. Shout out to Jay, because he was on it before a lot of people.”
Joey went on to release the Summer Knights mixtape and his debut studio album B4.Da.$$ via Cinematic. The LP opened at #5 on the Billboard 200 album chart and #1 on the Rap Albums chart with first week sales of nearly 54,000 copies. The 21-year-old New Yorker recently announced plans to drop two projects in 2016.
(AllHipHop News) Many television watchers first became familiar with Michael K. Williams because of his portrayal of Omar Little on the classic HBO series The Wire. However, it may not be as well known that a legendary emcee played a big part in Williams eventually becoming a star.
During an interview with The Lowdown with Diana Madison, Williams talked about how Tupac Shakur helped him get a role in his first major movie. The Brooklyn native was tapped to act in a 1996 crime drama with 2Pac.
“He was a very passionate, intelligent, charismatic, talented young man. We can only wonder what he would have accomplished had he lived to become an adult. We forget he was just a kid, 25 years old,” said Williams about Pac. “He saw my Polaroid in an office, and he saw that I had a scar on my face. He went to [director] Julien Temple and said, ‘Go find this guy. He looks thugged out enough to play my little brother in Bullet.'”
Williams continued, “The first or second day of work I showed up ‘fashionably late’… [Pac] cussed me out, asked me if I was okay, and put me to work in like 10 words… I’m grateful to him. He changed the trajectory of my life literally.”
Up next for Williams is Hap & Leonard on the Sundance Channel. He also appears in the forthcoming Ghostbusters reboot starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.
(AllHipHop News) Rick Ross recently sat down with Tim Westwood to talk about some of the things happening in his career at the moment. Part of the discussion centered around his MMG crew’s upcoming compilation album.
“Get ready for some new music. We’re dropping Self Made 4,” said Ross. “Maybach Music Group/Atlantic Records –Self Made 4, executive produced by Wale aka Young Ralph Folarin Saint Laurent.”
He added, “That’s my new alias I gave Wallace, so hit him up. Let him know. Y’all know about it, cause they all in that secret Illuminati.”
The conversation turned to Ross and Westwood joking about how great it is being part of the Illuminati. The Black Market album creator even mentioned how he was the one that introduced Westwood to the so-called secret society.
“How good is it? Didn’t it go the way I told you?” asked Ross. “Big money, profits… I told you. So if y’all wanna get signed up, hit my homie up. I gave him that plug.”
Rozay then questioned why conspiracy theorists believe his “Free Mason” collaborator Jay Z is at the top of the Illuminati pyramid. After Westwood suggested it may be because of Hov’s “ROC sign,” Ross responded, “You n-ggas crazy.”
Toronto’s STK Rax drops off a fresh new single “Ride” featuring counterpart AyFiF and fellow emerging Canadian artist Tory Lanez. STK is picking up some major buzz after his latest freestyle was features on OVO Radio. He is set to release his upcoming mixtape Suicidial Thoughts in early May under his label GDS (Grind Don’t Stop).
The guilty pleasure that is the Fox television series “Empire” certainly did not disappoint yesterday with it’s second run around the track. In the mad style of a truly great Hip Hop Opera, just when you’re thinking that they couldn’t possibly take it any further than going “there,” they go and show you that what you thought was “there” was just another bump in a much crazier and much more scandalous road trip. To that end, with a big spoiler alert warning, here were some of our favorite knocks in that episode 12, season 2 road:
Jamal (Jussie Smollett) and Becky (Gabourey Sidibe) getting surrounded and read broadway theater style by male members of the gay community for Jamal’s flip flopping on the sexual tip with Skye Summers (Alicia Keys). This scene not only demonstrated great choreography and the best use of multicolored flip flops ever as a prop to deliver shade, but you had to love the lyrical rearrangement of Hakeem Lyon’s (Bryshere Y. Gray) hit “Drip Drop.” Poor Becky did her best to tell them that it wasn’t even Jamal’s song, but it was just too bad of a sneak attack burn to begin with. Ouch, b####… just ouch.
Hakeem remaking the Empire Logo in his own image. Hakeem performs the penultimate Hip Hop song about power and then he figuratively drops the mike by unveiling his unique and artistic coup de grace on the Empire logo to the shell shocked reactions of Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), Andre (Trai Byers) and Jamal. Let’s not even start on how big daddy Lucious (Terrence Howard) will react when he gets the time to really savor this piece of work.
Tiana’s (Serayah) number “I Just Came In Here To Dance”. Skin tight, barely there sparkly body suits, and all of that shaking and popping from Tiana and her all girl army gives even our lady Beyonce a good run for her money. Can you say “All The Single Ladies?” A lot of folks could after seeing this.
Jamal letting it slip to the press that Lucious Lyon’s real name is anything but Lucious Lyon. Sometimes the worst cuts come from those who know us best. Be good to your kids or suffer that grassroots homegrown fury. Enough said.
The all hands on deck machiavellian demise of Camilla Marks (Naomi Campbell) and Mimi Whiteman (Marisa Tomei). When it comes to all business Empire, the family that slays together stays together… or at least keeps it’s business firmly within the family bloodline. Mimi and Camila were slick, but they just had no chance when it came to the Slick Rick capabilities of the Lyon family. With Rhonda Lyon (Kaitlin Doubleday) getting in close to Camilla through Camilla’s fashion line at the behest of Cookie, Jamal and Andre, and then Hakeem sending a sex tape of himself and Camilla to Camilla’s jealous and ailing wife Mimi Whiteman, the stage was set for a simple business takeover, game, set and match. However, when Camilla then kills Mimi to regain the upper hand and is caught red handed by Lucious Lyon, who more than understands the cause and effect knee jerk reactions of power hungry people like himself and Ms. Marks, it’s only a little shove to get Camilla to kill herself rather than face jail coupled with complete and utter financial ruin.
“Empire” can be seen Wednesday nights at 9/8c on Fox.
(AllHipHop News) From Get Rich Or Die Trying to the Starz show Power, 50 Cent has been actively involved in the world acting, movie and television for years.

Then in an interview with Shade 45, the “Hustler’s Ambition” rapper said, “I’ll be doing some new feature films and stuff like that too. I’ll do Predator.”

(AllHipHop News) East Baltimore rapper and 300 Ent signed Tate Kobang is about to take his buzz nationwide with Swizz Beatz.
Today it was revealed in the Baltimore Sun that Swizz Beatz will be executive producing Tate’s debut album.
Although no release date has been scheduled, plans are to release the project in September this year.
“Man, listen. Swizz was like, “Man, I’ma let you know, I get a million artists come across me every day, and there ain’t nothing special about them. There’s something about you. You it! You got ‘it!’ It is what it is.” I was like, “Man, whatever ‘it’ is, I’m glad I got it, because this is crazy.” We gonna link up and we gonna make magic.”
In addition to work with Swizz, Tate Kobang has been working with Nelly, Fabolous and Jadakiss.

We’re just going to have fun in the city.”

(AllHipHop News) Tinashe has unexpectedly cancelled her Joyride tour due to “recording commitments.”
The news comes on the heels of a well-known feud with R&B singer Chris Brown playing out on various social media platforms.
“It is with a heavy heart that I come with the news that due to unexpected recording commitments I need to postpone my upcoming international tour,” she said on Facebook. “Originally, I had planned this tour in support of Joyride, and as you know, the album has yet to be released.
“I know there will be a lot of questions about this. I am going to do a live Q&A on my Facebook tomorrow to answer them all. Stay tuned for more info on that.,” she added.
When Breezy criticized R&B singer Kehlani’s suicide attempt and PartyNextDoor’s photo of the two in bed, Tinashe came to Kehlani’s defense.
The feud has continued on in a KMEL interview (see above) where Tinashe clapped back at Breezy, “I felt like it was just so unnecessary,” she said. “I was just like, ‘Whatever.’ That’s just so unnecessary. I just think it’s silly. It’s petty. What’s the benefit?”
“It’s always hard when everything that’s really personal is just on social media in general. It’s just a messy situation. It’s not nice. It’s not nice to see. It’s not fun. It’s not positive,” Tinashe said of Kehlani’s public love triangle with Kyrie Irving and OVO’s PartyNextDoor.
Yesterday Baller Alert captured Chris Brown’s response as he shrugged off the “2 On” singer’s comments and then began name calling.
“I hope she talked about ‘HER’ career for most of this interview ‘WHOISHAE’ TINASHAE. I hope they rehearsing for those performance (power 106 charity basketball game halftime show) give her credit though, 30 16 year old hobbit face ass. WE WANT MUSIC, WE WANT MUSIC, WE WANT MUSIC!! TEACH ME HOW TO JERK FACE ASS.”
More news as it develops.
Check out Tinashe’s letter to fans below and Chris’ comment on the IG:
These days it seems like everyone wants a piece of the Kardashian clan, and vice versa. Ice Cube got wind of the fact that Khloe Kardashian was interested in dating his son O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Ice Cube had some very interesting words of advice for Khloe.
“Hell No. Khloe better run…[she] better run. They can’t handle that boy. They cannot handle him. Don’t worry about it. Tell ’em, they can’t handle O’Shea. That boy’s a beast,” said Cube.
Looking at that “L” O’Shea Jr. took with that Instagram model, we don’t know how much of a beast he is. Well, the Kardashians have been known to change a few lives whether it be good or bad. Would dating Khloe be a good look for O’Shea?
Apparently Drake recently had a Kanye West moment when it came to his interaction with a few photographers. Matt Small, a hobby photographer, says he was taking pictures of a vibrant sunset from Toronto’s Polson Pier Monday when a luxury helicopter landed nearby, and produced a celebrity passenger: Drake.
Small turned his camera toward the aircraft and began to snap pictures as Drake emerged with a man and two women. According to Small, Drake and his friend approached him demanding to know who he was and telling him that he had to delete his photos. Small told Drake,
“I was just taking a picture. I’m there all the time taking pictures.”
“Drake or not, no one can really treat me that way. I was pretty offended by it,” said Small.
Small said Drake and his friend didn’t intitiate physical contact with him, but they did try to take his camera and memory card. Small said when he refused to delete the photos for Drake he realized Drake’s friend was right behind him. At this point he called out for someone to call the police.
“It’s just so messed up. I think they were just trying to bully me.I’m not a confrontational person. I was so anxious and panicked to get out of there. It was a bunch of punks last night, how they acted. I’m really not in this to exploit Drake. It’s just the principle of bullying and walking off and getting into your limo and pretending your actions were OK,” said Small.
We know celebrities get tired of being photographed, but did Drake take it too far?
(AllHipHop News) If all is fair in love and war, then Nicki has just tipped the scales.
After news broke this morning that Nicki was single, Nicki quickly shot down headlines that her and Meek Mill were no longer an item.
Drawing inspiration from DJ Khaled, Nicki encouraged her followers “to get some D.”
“#They don’t want me to write this caption. Cc @djkhaled ~ It would be very remiss of you to not watch what I said about Valentines Day prior to writing or believing a headline about my comment. I’m not single. Thank you for coming out. Have a blessed day and get some D. ?.”
In the photo Nicki poses with smirk on her face, while her rumored fiancé stares directly in the camera with no smile and a tilted cap.
The clarifying IG post comes just hours after headlines broke that the two may be looking to split up after Nicki’s Ellen show appearance.
On the show Nicki was quoted as saying, “First of all, that’s not an engagement ring,” said Nicki. “I have two rings from this boy that likes me. That’s not my engagement ring though. He said, that’s my second ring, and he said if I get a third ring, then that’s my engagement ring.”
Based on the post below, it seems like all of that was taken out of context.
