Bun B To Stacey Dash: Hating Us Won’t Make Them Love You

(AllHipHop News) Yesterday (Jan. 20), after visiting Fox News’  Fox & Friends, Stacey Dash, openly voiced her desire to have BET canceled and cease the nation’s celebration of Black History Month. After drawing comparisons between BET and segregation, the Getting Played actress declared, “Just like there shouldn’t be a Black History Month. You know? We’re Americans. Period. That’s it.”

Following Stacey’s stunning statements many have voice their discord through different social media platforms. Bun B would also address his thoughts on the situation on his Instagram. “For everyone that didn’t know that looks don’t mean a g##### thing if the outside of you is ugly as f*ck here’s your proof. Her black skin drives her crazy,” wrote the Underground King.

To reinforce his sentiment the Hip-Hop icon added, “And as hard as she tries to separate herself from the black community, she doesn’t even realize her token role as a pawn in their game. You’re black. Hating yourself and us won’t make them love you. The best you’ll ever here is “You’re not like the rest of them” and if that works for you then cool.”

Killer Mike Releases Statement About Former Publicist Accused Of Sexual Harassment

(AllHipHop News) Earlier this week Dirty Projectors member Amber Coffman accused high-profile music publicist Heathcliff Berru of sexual harassment. Coffman stated on Twitter, “Tired of sketchy ass dudes and sexual predators getting a pass from their ‘bros.’ Grow a spine and hold your friends accountable.”

[ALSO READ: R. Kelly Walks Off Interview After Being Asked About Sexual Abuse Allegations (VIDEO)]

Berru was the founder/CEO of Life or Death PR & Management, a company that represented Hip Hop acts such as Killer Mike, Mac Miller, and Odd Future. After more women publicly alleged being harassed by Berru, he resigned from Life or Death on Tuesday.

Former LoD client Killer Mike is now speaking out about the controversy. The Run The Jewels rapper posted a statement to his Facebook page.

Mike wrote:

Now that I’ve got everything in order, let me put this out here since my tweets didn’t convey my points/actions clearly.

Yesterday a.m. I read the story about Heathcliff. I called him immediately and ended our biz relationship. I also told him how wrong he was and how disappointed and ashamed I am of his actions and that he’s gotta take whatever’s coming. I also encouraged him to work on being a better human being.

I stand in solidarity with the women that have spoke out. No one should have to feel afraid for speaking out when wronged in any manner or feel like no cares about them. This is not ok. For the sake of clarity, I had no knowledge of any of this stuff prior to the story breaking yesterday a.m.

As for publicity moving forward- RTJ has always been repped by Biz3 and I will continue to work with Duncan Will (formerly of LoD) independently. He’s done nothing but be a great publicist to me.

Another point I want to make sure that comes across- Men have to be able to tell our friends and peers when they’re wrong. We cannot just say, it’s not my problem. We can’t expect ppl to improve if we’re not willing to hold them accountable and push them to be better.

Love and Respect.

Trayon Christian Wins Settlement From New York City Over “Shop & Frisk” Profiling At Barneys

(AllHipHop News) Back in 2013, Trayon Christian insisted he was wrongfully profiled at a Barneys New York store in NYC. After purchasing a $349 Ferragamo belt, Christian claimed he was stopped by two undercover NYPD detectives just because he was a young, black male. A Barneys employee apparently contacted police over concerns the debit card Christian used for the purchase may not have been his.

[ALSO READ: Macy’s And Barneys Are Being Investigated By NY Attorney General For Racial Profiling]

Christian later sued Barneys and the city over violation of his civil rights. According to reports, the New York City College of Technology engineering student has now won a $45,000 settlement from NYC.

“Settling was in the best interest of the city,” said Nick Paolucci, a spokesperson for the city’s law department.

In 2014, Barneys agreed to pay $525,000 in fines to settle claims of racial profiling. The company also agreed to implement measures to reduce profiling of African Americans by employees. It is not clear if Christian or any other customers that filed complaints were awarded money directly from Barneys.

The Barneys “Shop & Frisk” or “Shopping While Black” stories became national news partly due to superstar rapper Jay Z debuting a special collection at the high-end retailer around the same time the profiling complaints became public.

There were calls for the Hip Hop mogul to cancel his partnership with Barneys, but Jay decided to move forward with the holiday release. The concerns of profiling eventually led to 100% of the proceeds from sales of the BNY SCC collection being donated to the Shawn Carter Foundation.

Bang Em Smurf: 50 Cent Lost The Respect Of The Streets And He Put A Hit On Me (AUDIO)

(AllHipHop News) The 50 Cent and Meek Mill feud had a lot of people talking this week. Former G-Unit affiliate Bang Em Smurf has now weighed in on the conflict as well. According to Smurf, Meek Mill was correct when he said a lot of people in Queens no longer support 50.

[ALSO READ: Bang Em Smurf Says Meek Mill Played Himself, Calls Rick Ross A Fraud (AUDIO)]

“The real n*ggas don’t f*ck with 50,” Smurf told Report Card Radio. “If you see his new video ‘I’m The Man,’ he got a lot of bozos in his video. And some of them n*ggas is Queens n*ggas. These n*ggas is lame n*ggas in that video. N*ggas don’t respect Fif no more.”

In particular, Smurf called out Bollywood B who he says is not respected in the streets either. The Trinidad-based rhymer then claimed 50 paid someone to take his life.

“After I seen ‘I’m The Man’ video, I lost all respect ever again for him. We will never be friends, never shake hands. It’s really ‘f*ck the Unit’ after I seen that video,” added Smurf. “That confirmed he put a hit on me. Just like he said [Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff] and [Ja Rule] put a hit on him, I can confirm [50 put a hit on me] now, because the same n*gga that took a shot at me was in his video. So that was a hit. So f*ck that whole camp.”

Despite Smurf’s accusations, there is no evidence to suggest that 50 Cent was involved in hiring a hit man to have anyone killed.

Lil Wayne Reportedly Still Suing Birdman & Cash Money Over ‘Tha Carter V’

(AllHipHop News) Over the last several weeks, Lil Wayne and Birdman have been photographed together on a couple of occasions. It appeared as if the year-long public dispute between the two New Orleans natives over royalties and album releases was on the verge of being resolved.

Despite the friendly encounters at nightclubs, Wayne is still moving forward with his lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money Records, according to TMZ.

The website reports:

According to our Young Money sources, Wayne isn’t softening on his main demands — release “Tha Carter V” and cough up the millions he says Birdman owes him. The stakes are high … remember Weezy’s threat to take Drake and Nicki Minaj with him if he leaves Cash Money.

Further, we’re told there’s still NO talk of a settlement.

This development comes less than 3 weeks after TMZ also reported Wayne and Birdman had “strong feelings about burying the hatchet.” Young Money’s Mack Maine supposedly set up a phone conversation between the pair last month.

Before their reunion at a party in Miami on New Year’s Eve, Wayne and Birdman had not been seen together in public since Weezy announced in 2014 he wanted to leave Cash Money. The “Rich As F*ck” rapper sued the label for $51 million, including claims CMR owes Wayne a $10 million advance for turning in Tha Carter V.

Did Meek Fake All Those Stacks Of Money? A Company Says “YES”

First of all, we could all be getting Rick Rolled and trolled right now. However, a company that makes fake stacks of money is claiming that they supplied Meek Mill with the paper that was recently posted on Instagram. I will say personally I am calling BS. I think these dudes are riding the wave of hate to Meek. Now, that said: I DON’T KNOW! These rappers are liable to do anything these days. So, a rumor it is.

A company alleges that they gave him the bucks to have that stack. This is like ghostwriting to me. You actually mess up your money telling people about it. I’m thinking this is somebody catering to the broke folk and throwing Meek under the bus. Meek got money and Meek got Nicki. But see for yourself.

Kendrick Lamar & The Weeknd Set To Perform at The Grammys

(AllHipHop News) As the 58th Annual Grammy Awards near, the initial wave of performances have been set and include Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, and Adele.

With 11 nominations alone, K. Dot leads the Grammy field, however his To Pimp a Butterfly is going head to head for Album of the Year with The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness.

Adele’s inclusion at the Grammy’s came as a slight surprise, being that she isn’t up for any awards.  Her record-breaking album, 25, was released after the nomination eligibility date however, her ever growing and faithful following equals big TV ratings.  Plus after the success of her debut single “Hello,” how could she not be included in this celebration of music.

In addition to the scheduled performers, the Grammys announced that the ceremony will also feature a tribute to Lionel Richie, who will receive the MusiCares Person of the Year award. Also, for the first time in Grammy history, the award show will broadcast live in both the Eastern and Pacific time zones.

REVIEW: Migos’ Y.R.N. 2 (Young Rich Ni$$aS)

migo young rich n##### 2Migos Show The Dab Movement Is Strong With Y.R.N. 3

(AllHipHop Reviews) While many claim to be the originators, the Migos say they are the ones that really brought you the dabbing dance – let there be no argument about that. And while they got the game all rapping like them and Cam Newton dabbing all over the field, the guys really took over with their unique rhyme patterning and animated style of videos. They are signed to that 300 Ent. for now and while much controversy has erupted after a Migos x Young Thug album was blocked by label head Lyor Cohen, we know the guys have some big things planned in 2016 – regardless of what imprint they are under.

This is a sequel but their movement has only gotten stronger since the first Y.R.N. project. The guys start off the tape strong with the Will A Fool beat on the “YRN 2 Intro”and from there there tape continues with an accelerating energy. If you like the big body whips, the pills, Actavis, the turn up, the smoke and all that dabbing, this project will entertain. Even if you don’t f**k with Migos, lets be honest the guys do have some skills as far as being word flippers.  Do they punch in?, is it one take? Who cares?  At this point one listen to the “YRN 2 Intro” and “Fall Back” and you can see these guys show signs of an 8 Ball & MGJ-like cohesion to flow and bounce over the beat. They’re prob dabbing at the same time – so that’s coordination and this is entertainment.

As a whole the tape keeps a good energy, but who could tell a Migos stan that it’s not LIT or not as dope as the Y.R.N. original at this point in their career? They are on fire right now, the homie just came home and the streets are gonna love this.  The guys don’t shy away from that taking shots at radio either.  On “You Wanna See”  they rap “the radio full of Mini-Mes.”

After Dun Deal laces the guys with a few early ones, the guys transition to some dopeness with heavy 808 subs and melodic pianos by Murda Beatz, OG Parker, Wheezy and of course Zaytoven. The “WOA” track NEEDS a visual, same with the “Trippin” track. The energy picks up on both of those.  From there the tape continues on and seems to get better as it goes with songs like, “Fall Back” and “Hate It Or Love It.”

Must Listens: “YRN Intro,” “WOA” “Trippin,” “Flying Coach,” “Fall Back,” “Hate It Or Love It,” “Hoe On A Mission,”

REVIEW & STREAM: Torae’s Entitled Proves New York Rap Is Very Alive

torae-entitled1(AllHipHop Reviews) There has been considerable debate about the New York Hip-Hop scene and the arguable degrees of relevance. Folks like J. Cole and Kendrick are present the game with lyrics. The South continues to be dominant with style, swag and party songs. Then, other regions like Canada offer mighty forces like Drake. The gods of New York such Diddy, Jay and 50 Cent don’t have the same foothold on in the culture as they once had, even though their business is on point.

Enter Torae’s Entitled.

Tor’s bringing that which people claim to want. Lyrics. Check. Beats. Check. Chutzpah. Check. The New York native speaks on it on “Get Down.” “Been a minute, the city back on its sh*t again / Let me find out they checking for who can spit again / While y’all was out there leaning and getting crunk / Being bout it and turning up / I ain’t never stop with the pen and dig.” And thus, the tone is set.

Torae holds nothing back and unloads a full clip.

He brings Saul Williams on “Imperial Sound,” Phonte on “Clap Sh*t Up,” Mack Wilds on “Troubled Times” and even lyrical super heroes like Pharoahe Monch on “What’s Love?.” The pleasant surprise is “Crown,” the duet with 3D Na’Tee. The New Orleans fem fatale and the New York boom bapper exchange socially conscious bars in the guise of battle raps. There are other times where Entitled expands Tor’s range with the lovey-dovey “Override,” where he attempts – with limited results – to resurrect “the ’95 LL.”

Entitled is a truly enjoyable work. It is refreshing to hear lyrics and bars, beats and rhymes and Hip-Hop that has something to say beyond the party-drenched faux-reality drivel we’ve been subjected to. Furthermore, hearing New York – the one-time center of Hip-Hop culture – feeling like NEW YORK again is a pleasure. Hopefully, the people, the companies and the web sites support the art.

DJ Khaled Drops Keys To Success on a Miami Middle School

(AllHipHop News) It seems like DJ Khaled is living the life right now, the successful way.  He went from DJ to motivational speaker in a matter of snaps and now he can add principal of a middle school to the list.

The Twittersphere went crazy in support for Khaled after the Miami Dade county school system tweeted that Khaled would be calling the shots for the day.

Aside from delivering the hottest morning announcements in the history of Carol City Middle School, Khaled performed a special version of All I Do is Win in a schoolwide assembly and sat for a live interview. In obvious Khaled fashion, he dropped some major keys to success on the youngsters.

As principal, Khaled made major upgrades in the cafeteria.  He got rid of the school’s normal lunch and served free food from his own restaurant Finga Licking.  He also rewarded students for their high attendance rate with 10 grand for the music program.

Khaled’s appearance was made possible by the Get Schooled program in which they enlist artists to help to encourage students to pursue higher education.

The day ended with principal and Snapchat King Khaled gifted a key to the city.

Did The Migos Go Too Far With Their New “Plan B” Song?

We all know that Hip-Hop is entertainment, but with the Migos’ new tape Y.R.N. 2 making it’s rounds – some fans on the internet are letting it be known that they don’t like the message in the new song, “Plan B.” People have long since had a problem with the misogynistic nature of some rapper’s lyrics, dating as far back to 2 Live Crew and their antics. But after Rick Ross got in trouble for putting “molly all in her champagne” should the Migos get off so easy for forcing a woman to take a Plan B pill? Have you ever been in this situation? Comment and sound off below! You heard it here first!

CLAPBACKSEASON! BET Savagely Comes Back On Stacey Dash

(AllHipHop News) BET claps up Stacey Dash like a Jay Z video.

When did Stacey Dash become such a d#####? Here is what she said:

The Clueless actress did not mince any words. When speaking on the Oscars she matter-of-factly stated, “We have to make up our minds. “Either we want to have segregation or integration.” That blunt assertion was the segue into Dash diplomatically sharing her stance on the need for channels like B.E.T. that celebrate African-American heritage.

She continued, “And if we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re Black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard.”

She should have put a target on her back, because BET was in full #clapback mode today. Peep what they said:

EXCLUSIVE: TRU Records Artist Vs Explains C-Murder’s Issues With 2 Chainz (AUDIO)

(AllHipHop News) Corey “C-Murder” Miller lit the internet on fire when he released his diss song directed at Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz. The “2 Stainz” track featured TRU-Bossalinie Records artist Vs dropping some bars as well.

AllHipHop.com spoke with Vs over the phone, and the New Orleans native explained why he and C-Murder felt the need to call out 2 Chainz over his use of the T.R.U. tag. According to Vs, he met 2 Chainz in Louisiana years ago, and the Based on a T.R.U. Story album creator apparently expressed he was a fan of C-Murder and his brand.

“I never seen him with nothing T.R.U. on, but I did pay attention to the way he was all goo-goo eyed at the logo. Our logo has a certain appeal to it. I seen it in his eyes,” says Vs. “It seemed like right after Corey went to jail on that last time he got convicted [2 Chainz] looked at C-Murder with that life situation as an early retirement, and he thought he could run with it.”

TRU-Bossalinie Records Artist Vs

Vs and C-Murder apparently reached out to 2 Chainz, but they felt the Def Jam recording artist ignored their complaints about him biting the T.R.U. logo. While Chainz and Miller have spoken about the situation since the release of “2 Stainz,” Vs warns that matter is not necessarily settled completely.

“I just hope he stays under the radar, and he’s as solid as he says he was on the phone. And he don’t try and go out there and make himself look big and start slick dissing,” states Vs. “That’s only gonna put him in another situation, because right now we got off his ass just on grounds that it came out of his mouth that he didn’t really feel that way and wasn’t really trying to steal it. For all the fans out there, that’s what they need to know. He wasn’t cutting up on the phone. He was talking real f*cking nice.”

Vs adds, “We ain’t even gonna dwell on the situation no more. Unless he does something weird to try and make himself look good. Then he ain’t gonna be able to come back from that, and we ain’t gonna give a f*ck.”
