Pusha T Talks Signing Desiigner & Being A Fan Of Jay Z’s ‘Reasonable Doubt’ (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) One of the first major moves to take place under the Pusha T G.O.O.D. Music presidency was the signing of an unknown teenage rapper named Desiigner. The Brooklyn native would go on to have the #1 song in the country and become the top breakout rap star of the year.

Hot 97’s Nessa sat down with Pusha to talk about adding the “Panda” rhymer to the label that Kanye West built. King Push credited his newest colleague for helping to energize the roster.

“His energy has been a spark for all of us, I feel. The ‘Panda’ record is what it is, and there’s so much more to come,” said Pusha about Desiigner.

The Virginia representative added, “[Desiigner] is a real creative.”

The conversation also included Pusha T reflecting on Jay Z’s debut studio album Reasonable Doubt. The Hip Hop classic was released twenty years ago this year.

“Without a Reasonable Doubt, there is not a Pusha T,” he declared. “One of my favorite albums of all time.”

Pusha recently partnered with Jay for the single “Drug Dealers Anonymous.” The record premiered on Tidal.

In the wake of the BREXIT vote which has the world reeling after Great Britain decided to abandon the European Union, much has been said about the historical scope, power, and influence of the British Empire throughout history. At its apex the British Empire was the most powerful geopolitical force on Earth. What many neglect to realize is that one of the occurrences that helped the United Kingdom rise to such a position was The Haitian Revolution, which thoroughly defeated Britain’s only serious hegemonic competitor, Napoleonic France. Much is discussed and written about Haiti’s defeat of Napoleon and how it opened the door for the Louisiana Purchase that fostered the expansion of the United States into the nation it has since become. However, few realize how the defeat of Napoleon by the brave former African Slaves in Haiti opened the door for the dominance of the British Empire. Furthermore, as Americans always pride themselves on their Revolutionary accomplishment of defeating the great British Empire and gaining their freedom, few give full acknowledgment to the superior military feat of The Haitian Revolution in its not only vanquishing the French Napoleonic Empire, The Spanish Empire of the time, but also thoroughly defeating the mighty British Empire to the point of leading the United Kingdom to agree to cease the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and any further importation of Africans into the Western Hemisphere officially. So while Americans celebrate their independence victory in defeating the greatest of European Empires, The British, recognize that former African slaves in Haiti did the seemingly impossible and defeated all three of the major European empires of that day to obtain their freedom, including the one beaten by the Americans:

In the end the British lost over 50,000 soldiers in their attempt to bring slavery back to Haiti. This had a direct influence on the British decision to end the trans-Atlantic slave trade.

Chris Brown Addresses Reports He Threatened Female Tour Manager

(AllHipHop News) Chris Brown is not one to hold his tongue. As reports about two different violent incidents against him circulate online, the “Back To Sleep” singer used his Instagram page to address the allegations.

Brown posted a long message in response to the latest accusation leveled by his former tour manager Nancy Ghosh. According to TMZ, Ghosh claims CB threatened her in May during the Virginia native’s European tour.

The ex-employee of Jennifer Lopez, Kanye Wes,t and Justin Bieber apparently quit the CB gig immediately following the incident. Ghosh supposedly sent an email to Brown’s team stating she felt unsafe because the performer was “irrational and high on drugs.”

Brown says the Ghosh story is untrue. In an IG post, CB suggested she was actually fired.

He also stated that Ghosh was associated with his former manager “Mike G” Guirguis. Mike G is suing Brown for an alleged attack.

UPDATE: 

It appears Brown’s IG message was also a response to yet another TMZ article covering the singer calling his former publicist Nicole Perna a “b-tch” before they ended their professional relationship.

The two reportedly got into an argument via text messages over Perna not being able to secure media placement for Brown’s Black Pyramid clothing line. According to the website, Brown mentioned his intent to fire Perna in the group texts which included Mike G, but Perna supposedly resigned.

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West has mastered the law of courting attention at all cost. His latest video for “Famous” has had people talking since its debut over the weekend.

Now some of the celebrities depicted naked in the controversial clip are speaking out as well. Ray J, the former boyfriend of West’s wife Kim Kardashian, revealed to Entertainment Tonight the video has upset his fiancee Princess Love.

“I’m engaged. My marriage is all messed up because of craziness. I’m not part of nothing crazy,” said Ray J. “I walk down a good path. My fiancée’s tripping. It’s all bad in my world, and that ain’t cool.”

He added, “Don’t put me part of nothing that’s weird, that don’t make no sense. Can I grow up?”

A fake body of former President George W. Bush was also included in the visuals. Billboard received an email from Bush’s communications director and personal aide about the situation.

“In case there was any doubt, I’ll state the obvious: That is not President Bush,” said the aide. “He is in much better shape.”

Rapper Akinyele Says KOD/South Beach Controversy Is A “Modern Day Lynching”; Trailers For Reality Show Debut

(AllHipHop News) A battle is brewing in Miami over the Hip-Hop friendly King of Diamonds brand.

The news of a new Miami hotspot opening on South Beach, has struck a sour note with residents, who are banding together in an attempt to prevent the owner, Akinyele Adams, from operating on Ocean Drive.

The new establishment is supposed to open on Ocean Drive very soon, but could an undercurrent of racism throw a wrench in the plan?

Some locals believe that the African-American owned business on South Beach will attract an unwanted element to Ocean Drive, which is already a popular tourist attraction.

Last night (June 27) local South Beach residents held a community meeting to discuss their concerns.

Owner Akinyele attempted to attend the meeting to address the locals concerns but he was not allowed to enter and present his side, since the gathering was open to residents only.

“I feel like this is just a modern-day lynching that’s happening here, and that’s the elephant in the room,” Akinyele told the Miami Herald. “We’re just a black-owned establishment, and that’s what they can’t come to the realization with.”

Despite his cries of injustice Akinyele should be prepared to be scrutinized as he operates his new business.

City Attorney Raul J. Aguila has vowed to shut down any establishment the moment it operates as a strip club or violates any of South Beach’s strict zoning laws.

A trailer for the web series “King of South Beach” was released today (June 27). According to a press release, full episodes will start dropping on July 4th.

Drake’s “Views” Tops Billboard 200 For 8th Consecutive Week

(AllHipHop News) Drake has topped the Billboard 200 Chart for the 8th consecutive week for his recent album release Views.

According to The New York Times, it is the longest run for a male artist since Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP in 2000.

According to Nielsen, Views has been streamed a total of 105 million times over the past week alone.

Even though the album was released two months ago, the only artist to get more streams in a week was Beyonce, with her album Lemonade.

Views was released April 29 and features the hit singles “Controlla,” “Pop Style,” and “One Dance,” which also claimed the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the 6th week in a row.

Drake won awards for Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Best Collaboration for his feature on Rihanna’s “Work,” and Best Group for his joint project with Atlanta MC Future, What A Time To Be Alive at the 2016 BET Awards over the weekend.

 

Suge Knight To Sue Chris Brown For 2014 Shooting At Pre-VMA Party

(AllHipHop News) Marion “Suge” Knight, the former CEO of powerhouse label Death Row, has filed a lawsuit against Chris Brown and the owners of 1OAK, over a 2014 shooting at the venue.

Knight was shot seven times and suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen, chest and left forearm in the incident at the club.

According to Billboard, the lawsuit accuses Chris Brown, host of the party at the venue, and the owners of the nightclub, of failing to have adequate security, who allowed at least one person into the club unarmed.

The lawsuit states that there should have been a much stronger presence of security at the venue as Chris Brown has a “well-documented track record of hosting events and/or parties in which violence frequently erupted.”

“As a result of the negligence of the defendants, one or more unknown individuals were allowed access to the event with weapons, including firearms,” the lawsuit says.

“As a foreseeable result, gunshots were fired by those admitted into the event and Knight was shot and seriously injured.”

The incident has been referenced several times by Knight and his defense in his current legal troubles, which involve Knight facing a murder charge for running over two men and killing one after allegedly trying to flee from an altercation.

Knight has cited complications from injuries stemming from the incident such as blood clots, and his attorneys have claimed this incident has caused to fear for his life, which ultimately led to him running over two men.

Chris Brown already has his share of legal troubles. He was recently accused by his manager of administering a drug fueled beating without provocation.

West Coast Indie Super Group ZG&E Drop “I Love California”

West Coast independent legends, Zion I, The Grouch, and Eligh have a group together called ZG&E. The veteran rappers have released an ode to their home state titled “I Love California.”

The new song was produced by Rey Resurrection and will be performed on their nationwide tour with Slightly Stoopid and SOJA.

A video posted to his Twitter account shows him walking through a crowd, before he stopped to look back and dap someone in the crowd.

A thirsty female took advantage of his venerable moment and grabbed him by the head, right as he turned back around, in an attempt to get some mouth-to-mouth action.

The Rubber Band man promptly curved her and carried on.

Was There Tension Backstage Between Future & Desiigner At The BET Awards?

Rumor has it that there was tension behind the scenes between not only Future and Desiigner, but also between their crews backstage at the 2016 BET Awards. Desiigner has been taunted since the beginning as fans, and even some in the industry, believe he completely jacked Future’s style and sound.

Allegedly, there was much tension between the two rappers, and a source said the drama was so unnecessarily hyped up and instigated by those around them.

We would like to believe that both Future and Desiigner are indifferent about the whole comparison, but it seems like Future really does feel some type of way as he said that fans at one of his concerts must have been Desiigner fans as he tried to warm up the crowd. Kanye West’s Controversial Video For “Famous” To Make TV Debut On E!

(AllHipHopNews) According to reports from The Fader, Kanye West’s controversial video for “Famous” will be making it’s television debut on E! tonight.

The sensationalized video features wax figures of a plethora of celebrity superstars laying in bed together, such as Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, Amber Rose, and Donald Trump.

The visuals for “Famous” made their initial debut on Friday, as Kanye displayed the visuals at The Los Angeles Forum and on the Jay Z owned streaming site Tidal.

Apparently, the controversial murmurs surrounding the video are no surprise to Kanye since he is already expecting a lawsuit.

According to reports “Girls” creator/star Lena Durham has dubbed the video sickening and disturbing and Ray J is reportedly enduring stress in his relationship due to his appearance in the video.

“Famous,” is a single featuring Swizz Beatz and Rihanna from Kanye’s latest February release The Life of Pablo, which serves as the Chicago MC’s seventh consecutive #1 album.

The video for “Famous” is set to debut on E! tonight at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. EST.

Kanye West will be beginning his “Saint Pablo Tour” August 25 in Indianapolis and is set to perform at the Meadows Music and Art Festival in Queens October 1 and 2.

Young Dro Gets Probation Over Car Theft

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Young Dro has been placed on three years probation for stealing a friend’s car.

The Hip-Hop star, real name D’Juan Montrel Hart, was arrested for grand theft auto last summer after allegedly stealing the vehicle.

A warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to appear at DeKalb County Court in Georgia in April and he pleaded guilty to a different charge, theft by conversion, in May.

He has managed to escape jail time, but he has been ordered him to pay a $1,000 fine according to reports.

Actress Stacey Dash Announces Her Own Political Party “Dash America”

(AllHipHop News) Actress Stacey Dash has launched her own political movement after growing increasingly frustrated with the state of politics in the U.S.

The “Clueless” star and outspoken Republican hasn’t been afraid to voice her opinions on hot topics such as race, equal pay, climate change, and transgender rights in recent months, and now she’s putting all her convictions into her own political movement, Dash America.

On Sunday (June 26), Stacey took to her website to announce her new project, telling supporters she’s so fed up with the people running the country that she has decided to spearhead a party of her own.

“Political elites have divided our country and seek to pit us against each other,” she wrote. “Liberals sell us cheap fictional freedoms, while stripping away our true God-given freedoms and liberty. Women are told empowerment means being a victim and are coerced into subscribing to the paltry progressives’ definition of feminism. Minorities are told that the only way we can make it out of poverty is to accept handouts. But I don’t buy into any of these lies.

“And that is why I have launched my new website and movement – Dash America. I believe that instead of allowing others to divide us and hold us down, we must empower one another to rise up and unite for the sake of our great nation and the values that have made us the strongest country in the world, a true beacon of freedom for all people and all nations under God for centuries.”

She insists Dash America will be “an exhilarating political movement” focused on unity, faith, family values, and feminism, adding, “I believe we need to cling to the motto and founding principle of the United States – E Pluribus Unum: Out of Many, One. We are a nation of many races and backgrounds, but we’ve forgotten about unity. Let’s re-forge our unity through freedom, opportunity, and education regardless of race.”

She concludes her rallying cry with the line: “It’s never too soon, and never too late to embrace the best traditions and the best chance for future. Will you join me?”
