In the spirit of Kanye West’s infamous G.O.O.D. Friday series, 5x Grammy Award Winner Malik Yusef releases G.O.O.D. Morning G.O.O.D. Night The “Leaquel,” Unheard & Unfinished Joints. As the title implies, tracks on this project are comprised of leaked material from previous G.O.O.D. Music sessions, and unheard gems from prior releases like Common’s “Nobody’s Smiling,” and “Sin City” off Cruel Summer.

What started out as just a studio album back in 2009 has now transformed into a full-fledged series. The third installment to the now trilogy follows up last year’s summer release of G.M.G.N. Deconstructed, which saw features from Mr. West himself, Big Sean, KRS-One, Adam Levine, GLC, Common, John Legend, Twista & others. The release garnered over 7MM total impressions.

As reported earlier, features on the new mixtape come courtesy of G.O.O.D. Music’s CyHi The Prynce on “We Ain’t Playin'” & producer Travis Scott on “Sin City (Original)” – and others such as Raheem DeVaughn, Chip Tha Ripper, JV, Grande Marshall, Young Savage, Ab-Liva, Black, Kentrell, and YouTube sensations Andrew Garcia, Jay Hayden, The Johnsoton Brothers, Brandon Skeie, J. Rice, Casey Cooper, and new comer Megan Elizabeth. Production duties handled this time around come predominately from Nate “Impact” Jolley & D.Cross, as well as Tommy Brown, Big Duke, Rami, Brian K. Bolton, Kevin M. Cairns, Hit Fluid Blue, KC, Mind Killa, Mizzy Beats, and The 11th Hour.

FRESH HEAT: She’s Ryan Ft. Manolo Rose – “Been A Lie”

Contrary to the title, there’s no lie quite frankly…ShesRyan IS the newest & most faceted first lady of New York, epitomizing a perfect merriment of sexiness & aggression on a track that couldn’t be more refreshing. Not to mention, She’s alongside THE man of the year, fresh off his hottest new release with French Montana…Manolo Rose. Can’t even lie, in an age where today’s#### is yesterday’s saturated news…who has time to be modest? Not Fameschool that’s for sure. Happy to applaud yet another infectiously heavy hitting beat that you can’t not rock to, produced by none of than FameSchool Slim, 1/2 of the governing duo of NYC’s culture & hip hop as we know it.

Within a few seconds of the song, you can’t help but find yourself steady rockin’, eyes rolling back on some fly $hi!, mess around and forget where you are…are we lying? Yea…so with that, let’s give ourselves a moment to transcend into “Been A Lie” ShesRyan feat. Manolo Rose, produced by Fameschool Slim. Welcome back New York, it’s been a while.

iAmCompton – “New Comp City” (MIXTAPE)

The highly anticipated “New Comp City” is the official mix-tape for Compton, California artist “iAmCompton”. With “Turn It Up” featuring Rich Homie Quan and “Money 2 Spend” featuring Eazy E released as singles from the 10 Track mixtape attained unexpected unprecedented success on radio globally. Its worthy addition to the impressive body of work “iAmCompton” has been developing over the years.

Los Angeles native, iAmCompton is no stranger when it comes to leaving a lasting “impression”. The Roulette Media Records’ (RMR) signee and tattoo artist has left his mark on artists such as Diddy, Nas, Travis Scott and Taraji P. Henson to name a few. His latest project happens to be the West Coast, as today he announces the upcoming release of his debut project, “New COMP City”. The 10-track project, featuring production from The Buchanans (Nas, Beyonce, Jay-Z) and J B Minor.

Raw, authentic and honest are a few words that come to mind when listening to New COMP City. Tracks such as “Fake” and “New Route” showcase the Young California emcee’s vulnerability and self-determination while the lead single – “Money To Spend”, sampling the late Eazy-E, highlights iAmCompton’s charismatic bravado. It’s this dichotomy that serves as the canvas behind iAmCompton’s musical inspiration. New COMP City plays out like a Westside story of pain and beauty growing up on the tough streets of Compton.

New COMP City is the untold story of the streets where I’m from,” says iAmCompton. “You didn’t have a lot of options growing up and it was easy to get involved with the wrong crowd but Compton made me who I am today. I’m not a product of my environment but I’m able to use my environment as my product and as a platform to share my story.”

In a sit down with MTV, Alonso discussed why he decided to pay homage to hip-hop with these covers.

“For me, this is the music I grew up with,” Alonso said. “Whereas previous editor-in-chiefs have drawn their inspiration from the Beatles and Bruce Springsteen and you name it, I draw my inspiration from [hip-hop and R&B]. This is the soundtrack to my life, and I also know this is the soundtrack to a number of other people’s lives that work in comics. And that group has grown, and grown over the years. I’ve been in comics now for some 25 years, and I’ve noticed that there are more and more people of all races who are into hip-hop. This is the music that they listen to.”

Artist DL Warfield Presents ‘The American Flag Remixed’ Collection

Derrick Lee Warfield is using his artistic gifts to spark a discussion about America and its contradictions. The founder of Goldfinger, C.S. is appealing to individuals that embrace those inconsistencies through his new collection titled The American Flag Remixed.

“When I think of America, like many traditional historians I think about the principles and structure it was founded on,” states Warfield. “As an artist, what I love about our history is that we were founded by rebels. A group of men and women that challenged the establishment and were willing to die for what they believed in while holding on to the dream of ‘What If?’”

He adds, “My flags, like Americans are all different and custom fabricated to represent different passions, genres, ideas and cultures. No matter the color, fabric or design, they all scream ‘I am America.’”

The former resident Art Director for LaFace Records used various mediums including metal, wood, Levi’s denim, leather iron, and mercury glass for his latest artistic assortment. Some of the works were inspired by Warfield’s culturally diverse family.

Atlanta-based performers Tip (fka T.I.) and Usher have requested Flag Remixed pieces. Executives for Levi’s Strauss, Ford Motors, and PayPal purchased art from Warfield’s collection while restaurants such as Gio Di Palma’s Little Italy and 10 Degrees South have commissioned custom-designed flags.

The American Flag Remixed follows DL Warfield’s run as a cover art designer for OutKast’s Aquemini and ATLiens, Usher’s Confessions and Here I Stand, TLC’s Fanmail, Toni Braxton’s Secrets, Yelawolf’s Radioactive, and Pink’s Can’t Take Me Home. In addition, Warfield is currently designing covers for upcoming albums including Young Jeezy’s Church In These Streets and Rich Homie Quan’s Rich As In Spirit.

One of Future’s baby mamas, Brittni Mealy, took to her Instagram to try to expose Pierre “Pee” Thomas who is the CEO of Quality Control Music. QC is the label that brought us Migos. Brit claimed that Thomas was lying about sleeping with her, and Pee clapped back with video footage of Brittni. YIKES! Someone is lying and well ummmm.. we think we know who it is.

Coachella May Be In Queens Next Year

Coachella may be bringing hippie vibes to Queens, New York. One of music’s biggest festivals may be taking place at Flushing Meadows Corona Park next June, the New York Daily News reports.

AEG Live, the promoter behind Coachella, has reportedly already started filling their roster of acts who would perform at the festival, which may happen two weeks before another huge NYC festival, the Governor’s Ball. The festival is tentatively called Panorama. It would be the biggest event to hit Queens, NY since the 1964 World Fair.

The tentative date of Panorama is causing a stir with the organizers behind The Governor’s Ball, which takes place on Randall’s Island every year.

“The timing of this corporate-run festival would threaten our ability as a small business to continue putting on the kind of event that has showcased the best artists, created hundreds of local jobs and put millions of dollars back into the city’s economy,” said Tom Russell of Founders

Coachella usually attracts about 200,000 concertgoers each year.

M1 (Of dead prez) – “Number One With A Bullet” ft Prodigy & Divine RBG (P### by Bonnot)

With so much political huffing and puffing going on in the media, there have been very few artists that tackle the issues that face the majority of the Hip Hop audience. Well, until now. M1 of the revolutionary but gangsta duo dead prez has teamed up with Italy’s illest producer Bonnot again for “Number One With A Bullet”, guest starring RBG brethren God Divine and Prodigy of the “Infamous” Mobb Deep. As always, Mutulu always addresses the unanswered questions of the masses and with rapper ‘P’ on the help-out, even the thugs get the message.

Nelly Gives An Update On EP; Says ‘The Whole Game Is Doing Nelly’

Nelly is no stranger to crossing genres but the rapper/actor turned heads when it was reported that he would be doing a country EP. When Rolling Stone caught up with the STL rep after he got off stage with Taylor Swift, he clarified that that he isn’t exactly doing a full blown project of country music.

“It got kinda twisted,” said the “Country Grammar” rapper. “It’s not actually country, so to speak. I love country music. I respect country music so much that I would never think that I can sit down and just as easy do a country album. That’s not it. That’s just like some country artist saying, ‘Hell, I’m just gonna do a rap album.'”

Nelly says that he wants to create a project that “all boundaries” and “all genres.”

“That is something I kinda kicked around as far as the EP, kinda coming up with different songs and different music in a field that I think may appeal to more of a pop-country, pop-R&B, hip-hop, country hip-hop [laughs] type of vibe. But never a “country album,” not like that. I respect country music to the utmost, I never think it’s just that easy. Never.”

With this year being the 15th anniversary of the release of his debut album, Country Grammar, Nelly spoke on how his album gave a “difference in sound” to hip-hop back then but now feels that that same sound is highly popular.

“I was kinda the only one doing what I was doing, now the whole f–king game is singing. [Laughs.] The whole game is melodic now, and I was the only one doing it. You know? I was the first one to sing his own hook, rap his own verses and sing his own bridge. And continuously doing that because my influences, such as Bone Thugs, Goodie Mob, Cee-Lo Green and Arrested Development, you’re listening to ’em and trying to find your own niche and then when you come with it but you come with it in a way that’s so surprising to people. People don’t understand that,   s–t, the whole game is doing Nelly.”

The Real Husbands of Hollywood star also named which artists he listens to nowadays.

“Drake is my guy. He’s dope. And I say that to say we like Meek Mill. Neither one can make me stop listening to the other. As long as I get great music out of it . . . hear hear! Future is dope. Fetty
