Rumor has it that Jay Z may be in the process of recording a response to his wife, Beyonce’s, ‘Lemonade’. We wonder what he will call this answer to the album that has all of the women going crazy. The music mogul is supposedly recording his own version of the event. According to US Weekly,

“Jay is working on his album telling his side of things”

We aren’t sure if this is true or not, but it would make an incredible year of music, and it might even bring us another joint tour from the power couple. I honestly don’t even believe ‘Lemonade’ was completely a true testimony of problems in their marriage. It seems more like the two are marketing geniuses. Zendaya has even revealed that Jay was around for a lot of the filming of the ‘Lemonade’ special. ‘Lemonade’ just seemed to shine light on topics and themes that most women can relate to. (AllHipHop News) Remember when Wiz Khalifa was involved in a very public Twitter feud with Kanye West over the album title Waves and comments about his family? It seemed the Pittsburgh native settled his issues with Ye, but Wiz still has no interest in discussing the G.O.O.D. Music leader.

Khalifa was interviewed by the AP following his appearance at this year’s Met Gala. The “Bake Sale” spitter was open to talk about the event. But when the reporter veered into Mr. West territory, Wiz dodged the question.

“Don’t ask me about that guy,” replied Khalifa before laughing.

Kanye was one of the most talked about celebrities at the Met Gala this year. His choice to wear blue contact lenses lit up social media with praise, confusion, and condemnation. Ye and his wife Kim Kardashian were also named the night’s best dressed couple.

Janet Jackson Pregnant Two Weeks Away From Her Fiftieth Birthday

(All Hip Hop News) – Who says only male Pop icons can start a new family when they hit fifty?  As reported first by Entertainment Tonight via an exclusive report, just two weeks shy of her fiftieth birthday on May 16, 2016 and just in time for Mother’s Day this Sunday, it has been reported that pop star Janet Jackson is pregnant with her first child.

Jackson, who is notoriously close to the vest when it comes to any and all details surrounding her personal life, hinted at something big and family oriented going on last month when she tweeted to her fans on April 6 that she would need to delay her upcoming Unbreakable World Tour per “doctor’s orders” as she needed to “rest up” because she and her husband, 41 year old Wissam Al Mana were “planning their family.”  It has been rumored that Jackson is currently three months pregnant.

In keeping with Jackson’s penchant for keeping her life off camera private, the pop star secretly wed Al Mana in 2012, waiting until early 2013 to officially confirm and verify news of the event.

This child will be the first for both Jackson and Al Mana.

Fat Joe spoke with Power 106 about his late friend and collaborator. The Diggin’ In The Crates crew member even named Big L’s verse from “The Enemy” as his all time favorite.

“He’s the only artist I ever did a song with who threatened me before I did the song with him,” said Fat Joe. “He told me, ‘Joe, you just went Gold. I’m gonna take all your fans.’ So I had to step my game up at D&D Studio, right there on the spot.”

French Montana Discusses New Deal With Diddy and Bad Boy

(AllHipHop News) Rapper French Montana has officially inked a recording deal with Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment.

French will join the Bad Boy Entertainment roster on the heels of a deal Diddy announced with Epic Records in October of 2015 for Bad Boy, which was launched in 1993.

Epic will handle all of the marketing, promotion and distribution for Bad Boy’s upcoming releases, including French’s new material.

“Love the respect and appreciation that LA Reid and his team have for music. I think it’s rare to find that in the industry today.  Being able to start this chapter at Epic with my Bad Boy family is a blessing. Puff and Harve [Pierre] have been like big brothers to me and there’s nothing better than making music with the people you love.” – French Montana.

French Montana debuted his first release under his Bad Boy/Epic deal today (May 5), with the new song and video “Figure It Out” featuring Kanye West and Nas.

The video for the new single with Kanye West and Nas was shot by longtime French collaborator Eif Rivera.

Diddy is confident his investment in French Montana will pay dividends to the Bad Boy Entertainment label.

“French Montana is a proven hit maker,” said Sean “Diddy” Combs. “When I first heard him, I knew he had that special Bad Boy sound and I believed in his potential. He was on the fast track then, and now, to see how far he’s come, he’s a major force in Hip-Hop and a key member of the Bad Boy Family. Bad Boy is known for creating the biggest acts in hip-hop – and French is not only a part of our legacy but now also a part of our new chapter at Epic Records.”

The deal comes as news broke earlier this week that French Montana purchased a new $3 million home from pop singer Selena Gomez.

Drake’s ‘Views’ Is On Pace To Break One Week Streaming Record

(AllHipHop News) Drake’s latest album is a bona fide commercial success. Views is set to open with over 850,000 copies sold, and the LP is looking to break the record for most album streams in one week.

According to HitsDailyDouble, Drizzy’s most recent musical effort is on pace to collect upwards of 250 million streams over its first seven days. That total would surpass Beyoncé’s reported 115 million one week streaming tally for her new album Lemonade.

Queen Bey took the #1 spot on the album chart with 653,000 sales-plus-streaming units. Lemonade racked up the highest selling and streaming first week numbers of 2016 so far. However, Drake’s Views is projected to cross the 1 million SPS unit mark in its initial week.

This development essentially served as a proxy battle in the ongoing streaming war. Beyoncé presented Lemonade as a Tidal streaming exclusive, and fans were only able to stream Drake’s Views via Apple Music for a limited time.

Man Reportedly Connected To Bobby Shmurda’s Crips Gang Found Washed Up With “Cement Shoes”

(AllHipHop News) Bobby Shmurda is still locked up in New York for conspiracy, drugs, and weapons possession charges. However, a new report claims someone connected to the Brooklyn rapper has suffered an even worse fate.

According to DNAInfo, Peter Martinez’s body was discovered earlier this week wrapped in plastic bags with duct tape on his face and 100 pounds of cement on his feet. The Brooklyn resident is said to be a high-ranking member of the G Stone Crips which is supposedly associated with Shmurda.

Martinez, 28, had been missing for 3 weeks and was reportedly in debt to another individual. Police identified him from the Virgin Mary tattoo on his back. Investigators also believe the attempted “cement shoes” were done incorrectly allowing his body to surface at Manhattan Beach.

Authorities contend Shmurda’s GS9 crew is affiliated with a local Crips gang. While in custody, Shmurda was allegedly involved in a Crips versus Bloods brawl. At the moment, there is no official connection between the killing of Martinez and Bobby Shmurda.

Shmurda recently filed a lawsuit against the New York Police Department for false arrest, claiming officers illegally entered the residence without a search warrant. That case stems from a June 2014 arrest for felony criminal possession of a weapon in Brooklyn.

The “Hot N-gga” rhymer was later arrested in December of 2014 in Manhattan. He and several others were taken into custody on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, reckless endangerment, and more.

An investigation into the death of Peter Martinez is ongoing. No arrests have been made as of press time.

EXCLUSIVE: EFFEN Vodka “Disappointed” In 50 Cent For Insulting Disabled Man

(AllHipHop News) The fall out over 50 Cent’s social media post accidently making fun of a disabled airport worker in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is impacting the rapper’s corporate relationship with EFFEN Vodka.

On Sunday (May 1) 50 posted an Instagram video of himself making fun of a janitor named Andrew Farrell, who suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome, social anxiety, and hearing loss.

A rep for Beam-Suntory issued a statement to AllHipHop.com distancing themselves from the rap star’s offensive post.

“EFFEN is a brand that considers social responsibility the highest of priorities, and 50 Cent’s recent actions are in no way representative of EFFEN® Vodka or our brand values,” a rep for EFFEN told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “We are taking this situation extremely seriously and have communicated our profound disappointment to 50 Cent directly.”

Beam-Suntory is one of the largest liquor in the world. In addition to EFFEN, the company owns major brands like Jim Beam, Courvoisier, Makers Mark.

The company had no problems with 50 Cent’s feeds up to this point, which promotes EFFEN quite regularly.

But 50’s social media is also used to take on his competitors, which have included Rick Ross, Meek Mill and most notably, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Ciroc brand, which is co-owned by Beam-Suntory rival, Diageo.

In fact, 50 has helped powered EFFEN to triple digit growth over the past year according to Beam-Suntory reps.

But the parent company of EFFEN Vodka is less than thrilled with 50 thanks the negative press.

50 Cent issued an apology for the mistake saying:

“It was certainly not my intent to insult him or the disability community, which is a source of great strength in America. I have apologized personally to him and his family.”

Even though 50 apologized and Andrew Farrell’s family has accepted, they are still threatening the rapper with a $1 million lawsuit, unless he donates to a charity dedicated to those with autism.

An event slated for today (May 5) at Randall’s Liquor and Spirits in South City has been canceled and several local stores and popular bars have started boycotting EFFEN Vodka.

UPDATE: According to NewJersey News12 second store has also cancelled 50’s appearance for an in-store signing of EFFEN Vodka bottles.

“First of all, to make fun of autistic kids is completely wrong, and we happen to have a lot of friends that have autistic kids,” said owner Joseph Stevens. “I just said ‘I’m not doing that. I don’t want to be represented by someone like that. The decision was easy.’”

Eminem Supports Kim After Suicide Attempt; Rapper Adopts Another Daughter

(AllHipHop News) Eminem’s ex-wife Kim Mathers has confessed she tried to commit suicide by crashing her car while driving under the influence.

The mother of Eminem’s 20-year-old daughter Hailie came clean about her 2015 accident in Macomb County in Detroit, Michigan during a phone interview on local radio show Mojo in the Morning on Wednesday.

During the chat, she explained why court documents relating to the crash had been sealed, insisting it wasn’t due to preferential treatment, and was simply because the papers contained medical information about her attempted suicide.

The 41-year-old claimed she planned her crash carefully so there would be no other victims, and revealed she mixed alcohol and drugs before getting behind the wheel of her Cadillac Escalade Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).

“I sat at the end of a road where I knew that no one else but myself would get hurt,” she explained. “Yes, I drank, I took pills, and I hit the gas and aimed for a pole.”

When she realized her plan to end her life had failed, Mathers found herself apologizing “immensely” to paramedics who had been called to her aid.

She continued, “That’s why those records were sealed. There was medical information in there. It had nothing to do with the rest of the case… After I realised how much drama it was causing, I willingly unsealed the files so that everybody can know my personal business, yet again.”

Mathers, who has previously battled substance abuse issues, did not go into detail about what prompted her suicide bid, but revealed she is currently receiving treatment for her personal troubles.

She suffered a setback following the death of her twin sister, Dawn Scott, in January, but she has heaped praise on Eminem for supporting her through her tough time.

“He’s been real supportive,” she said of her ex. “We’re really close friends. We’re just trying to raise our kids together and make it as normal for them as possible.”

Mathers is also mom to a 14-year-old called Whitney, who Eminem formally adopted.

He also previously became the legal guardian of Scott’s daughter, Alaina, who is now 23.

Eminem, who famously targeted Mathers in the lyrics of his early hits, has yet to comment on his ex’s accident or health struggles.

The former couple was married twice, from 1999 to 2001, and for several months in 2006.

Game drops a sentimental verse on the song “Mama” featuring singer Sonyae.

The slow paced track features the Compton emcee dropping a verse that honors his own mother, while borrowing a little from Tupac’s Classic “Dear Mama.”

“Mama I love you, everything we been through, we been through together,” Game says on the track. “Me you and my little sisters. Take this time out and thank all the mothers of the world just for staying strong. And I want to say RIP to Afeni. I know you happy with Pac now. I know he’s alright. He’s got his mama.”

Wyclef Jean Goes “Live at Daryl’s House”

(AllHipHop News) Singer Daryl Hall will inject more Hip-Hop and Soul music into this season’s television show “Live at Daryl’s House.”

Daryl Hall, who is also half of Hall & Oates, will welcome guests like Wyclef Jean, The O’Jays and others during the show’s newest season.

Over the years, the award-winning series has featured artists like Cee Lo Green, Travis McCoy and Sharon Jones all of whom perform mashups of songs together.

The new episodes were taped in a club called “Daryl’s House” in Pawling, New York. The show will airing on MTV Live (formerly Palladia), Viacom’s new 24-hour dedicated music channel.

Afeni Shakur Protected Rights To Tupac’s Music In “California Love” Trust

(AllHipHop News) With the unexpected and sudden passing of Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur, fans can rest assured that Tupac’s music is in good hands.

According to reports, prior to her passing Afeni entrusted the West Coast legend’s music in a “California Love” trust.

While media and fans have been asking questions about ownership rights in regards to Tupac’s musical catalog, a rep for the estate says that Afeni was extremely careful when drafting the trust and chose an executor for the late-2Pac’s estate, this according to TMZ.

It was also confirmed that Gust Davis – Afeni’s ex-husband – will not be inheriting any portion of Tupac’s musical rights.

TMZ also reports that Tom Whalley, former head of Warner Bros. Records, will be in charge of handling Tupac’s catalog.

According to International Business Times, “Afeni’s net worth was reportedly more than $50 million. She is also believed to have been the head of her son’s estate, which continues to bring in nearly $1 million annually.”

Afeni is survived by a sister, Gloria, and a daughter, Sekyiwa Shakur, Tupac’s half-sister.

While the official cause of death has yet to be released, local authorities say they were called to her residence for a potential cardiac arrest.

Afeni was 69 years old.

Fox News Fans Show New Low In Racist Response to Malia Obama’s Acceptance To Harvard

(All Hip Hop News) – In what was a sad exhibition of exactly how low a certain segment of Fox News’ fans can sink, the conservative news outlet had to delete all the comments, as well as the entire comments section on what should have been a run of the mill AP report on President Barack Obama’s daughter, Malia Obama’s acceptance and decision to attend Harvard University.

While the news should have been uncontroversial, the original Fox report, which started off with the innocuous sentence, “President Obama’s daughter Malia will take a year off after high school and attend Harvard University in 2017,”  and continued on to state Malia’s age, her high school, and the fact that both of Malia’s parents had earned degrees at Princeton and Harvard, engendered this caustic response that was later deleted by Fox News, but  deftly captured via screenshot by Addicting Info.  Please see our reprinting of these deleted comments both unedited and uncorrected for grammar as also reported in part or whole by Salon, Reverb Press and AOL news:

ET – best known as a co-host of the top rated The Durtty Boyz radio show – has taken on the name Benefit for his performer persona. The Santa Ana, California transplant tapped back into his rap skills for his debut project Skater Chic.

Diddy recently revealed that he plans to retire from music after he finishes his last album, ‘No Way Out 2’. Not only is Puff going out with an album, he is taking a victory lap with an all-star Bad Boy reunion tour as well. Since ‘No Way Out’ was classic, fans can’t help but to wonder what Diddy has up his sleeve for its sequel. Diddy has been in the studio with The Game, Mary J. Blige, and PartyNextDoor cooking up new music.
