The turn out show was very successful, and AllHipHop was able to capture the entire show. Check out our official recap for the show below.

Curren$y Showcases New Music With 808 Mafia

You still bumping Pilot Talk 3? Get ready for more music from Curren$y soon. This morning, the New Orleans rapper teased fans with some new music via Instagram, featuring production by 808 Mafia. To our surprise, the clips feature a sound different from the bangers that many are used to from the production trio. There hasn’t been any more info on when the music will drop or on what project, but we can safely say that Spitta Andretti is still supplying his fans with those bangers. Check out the clips below and let us know what you think.

Slimarous – “Mona Li$a”

When Slick Rick did his track “Mona Lisa” back in the day, it was a classic. But the euphemism for “Mona Li$a” still remains in Hip-Hop as Slimarous aka Slim sings over a this track that has a running melody over consistent symphonic sound. In the video Slim goes from the winter woods to the summer beaches singing about his shawty.

DJ Funk Flex Claims To Have More Reference Tracks For Drake Songs

(AllHipHop News) If people thought Quentin Miller’s open letter denying being a “ghostwriter” for Drake was going to end the controversy, that may not be the case. Meek Mill ignited the issue by suggesting he had proof the OVO leader’s verse on “R.I.C.O.” was written by someone else. But that was just the beginning.

DJ Funkmaster Flex took the allegations to another level this week when he dropped what is said to be a reference track of Miller rapping “10 Bands” for Drake. Then late Friday night Flex claimed he has more recorded verses Drake supposedly copied for his own songs. The Hot 97 personality posted the following tweets.

FUNK FLEX 1 FUNK FLEX 2 FUNK FLEX 3

While Miller and OVO producer Noah “40” Shebib have both acknowledged Q.M. worked on Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late project, neither man has explained the “10 Bands” reference track released by Funk Flex. They also have not specifically addressed how much Miller contributed to Drake’s work.

Drake has yet to formally comment on the situation. As of press time, Flex has not released any supposed reference tracks for Drake’s verse on “R.I.C.O.” or for his song “Know Yourself.”

Quentin Miller Addresses Allegations He’s Ghostwriting For Drake; Meek Mill Posts More Tweets

(AllHipHop News) The man at the center of the Drake ghostwriting controversy has finally broken his silence. Quentin Miller took to Tumblr to address the week-long discussion surrounding allegations he penned bars for the OVO leader.

Miller wrote:

Winter 2014… I was just another guy working a job he hated with a passion for music…. And somehow found myself on the phone with One of my idols..

i told him i worked in a bakery and his exact words were “F*ck that, your destined for greatness”…

Hearing that from someone that I’ve been  studying since 2009, bar for bar…. Theres no way to describe that..

Most of the project was done before i came in the picture.. i remember him playing it for me for the first time thinking “Why am I here?” like.. what does he need me for??

The answer is.. Nothing…

I watched this man piece together words in front of me…

I watched him write/ replace bars 2- 3 at a time on 6pm in NY.. I witnessed him light up, go in and freestyle madonna….

I took notes from the best in the game….

I remember him Showing me the thank you notes in NY before the album dropped.. Showing me the QM, telling me they put me on the credits (Ghostwritter???) … He attached  my name to something that touched the world..

When nobody would pay attention, drake saw something in me and reached out… Of all people… drizzy..

Two artist in exact opposite spaces in their career.. We came together and made something special..

I am not and never will be a “ghostwriter” for drake.. Im proud to say that we’ve collaborated .. but i could never take credit for anything other than the few songs we worked on together ..

Thats all i have to say on it.. back to this 1317 s###…

– Q.M.

The post follows Meek Mill igniting the speculation Miller was Drake’s ghostwriter in a series of tweets earlier this week. That was followed by DJ Funkmaster Flex releasing a reference track of the Atlanta rhymer spitting a nearly identical verse as Drake used on “10 Bands.”

OG Maco, a fellow ATL native and self-described friend of Miller, told AllHipHop.com he felt several of the songs on Drake’s latest project If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late were written by Quen. According to Maco, he spoke to Miller about his work with Drizzy.

“We didn’t know the extent of how much he was putting in until we actually heard the album. I didn’t even need to see the credits or him tell me anything. I know how my n*gga raps. I know his style,” said Maco. “As soon as I heard ’10 Bands,’ I was like, ‘Yo, this is all you. What the f*ck?’ He wouldn’t confirm or deny it. It was just like, ‘Yeah, I’m doing something.’ I didn’t say nothing because that’s how he was eating, he was getting his money.”

Miller essentially reinforced the message delivered by longtime Drake producer Noah “40” Shebib. The Toronto beat maker wrote on Twitter, “If your asking if Q contributed to If You’re Reading This this the answer is yes. You can also read that in the credits.”

Neither 40 nor Miller directly talked about the alleged “10 Bands” reference track or Meek’s claim Drake did not write the verse on “R.I.C.O.” off Dreams Worth More Than Money.

Meek sent out a couple of tweets that seemed to be a response to Miller’s letter. The MMG member tweeted, “If you gone tell it all….. Just keep it real and never fraud!” OG Maco clearly responded to Miller’s statement in his own tweets.

After all, who doesn’t love scandalous R&B?

“N***as be acting like h*es, all in their feelings like whoa whoa whoa / If you looking for your girlfriend, got her over here like go go go,” he sings.

Hopsin – “The Pound”

Funk Volume’s Hopsin returns today (July 24th) with his new album Pound Syndrome. “It’s all just dope Hip Hop,” he says of the LP in a recent interview. “That’s pretty much what I was going for. It’s not like a themed album where it has a storyline or anything like that. It’s just dope songs, but they all kind of fit together.” The new album is a follow-up to 2013’s Knock Madness and what he sees as a fresh start. “It’s just an album that I kind of wanted to redeem myself on from my last album because I didn’t like it.”

Peep the video for “The Pound” available on Hopsin’s new project Pound Syndrome. This should be interesting to say the least – Hopsin is a wild dude!

Future’s Best Friend Pulls A Gun On A Female?

Allegedly, one of Future’s friends tried to rob a female at gunpoint. The alleged victim’s friend claims that Future’s best friend tried to rob her roommate after she wouldn’t take him to the studio the next day. The girl said she went to Future’s house and took two of her girls with her to be cautious. They got bored and left after Future had to leave to shoot a music video. So the next day one of the girls, Ariel, returns to Future’s home, and allegedly Future tells her to go in his room and undress and wait for him. Supposedly, Ariel gets tired of waiting and when she decides to leave, Future’s friend tells her not to leave because Future said “wait.” When she insists that she’s leaving, Future’s best friend ask her to take him to the studio where Future is, and offers to fill up her gas tank but really only ends up handing her $10. Supposedly, Ariel told Future’s best friend to get out of her car, and he allegedly told her that he had a gun on him and he would rob her for her wallet and cell phone if she didn’t take him to the studio. Allegedly, the only way she got away with leaving him on the side of the road is screaming help to a police officer she spotted. Groupies…. well you have to…. stop being groupies. Future’s best friend is still in the wrong if this happened, but groupies just put themselves in some of the most interesting situations.

Akon Talks Passport Experience Festival 2015 Featuring Gyptian, Ying Yang Twins & More (PHOTOS)

(AllHipHop News) Akon is serious about helping to bring electricity to over 600 million people in Africa by 2016. The Senegalese singer-songwriter partnered with DJ Fully Focus to raise funds for the #AkonLightingAfrica campaign. Proceeds from Fully Focus’ inaugural Passport Experience Festival in Atlanta went to Akon’s solar power initiative.

“This Passport Experience Fest has been the most amazing experience that I’ve ever encountered, especially with this being the first year,”states Akon. “I promise you: it’s gonna grow to be the biggest thing ever. And Atlanta needs it, being that it’s an international hub of the South. Not only that, but the international hub of the world really, ‘cause you can take a direct flight from anywhere in the world and come straight to Atlanta.”

Over 2,000 fans showed up to Centennial Olympic Park on Sunday, July 19 for the PXP Fest. Jamaica’s Gyptian, America’s Ying Yang Twins, Zambia’s OC, Nigeria’s Timaya and more than 20 other international artists and DJs hit the stage.

“But when I tell you, the music was just amazing, the people’s energy was electrifying,” Akon continued. “It opened my eyes and reminded me why I’m in the entertainment business in the first place. This thing was amazing. I’m proud to be a part of it, associated with it. Make sure you’re a part of it next year.”

With nearly 725,000 residents from other nations, Atlanta served as an ideal host city for the global appeal of PXP Fest. The capital of Georgia now boasts the 11th highest foreign-born population in the country.

“The goal was peace and unity through music, and that’s exactly what we achieved,” says Fully Focus. “We put this event together in less than two months! And I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Now, on to planning PXP Fest 2016.”
