Roast Session: 10 Funny Meek Mill Memes Arise After His Latest "Beef"

Over the weekend, Philly’s own, Meek Mill dropped his new EP entitled, 4/4. The surprise release contained a remix of the Future and Drake track, “I’m Da Plug.” On the WATTBA beat for “Gave ‘Em Hope,” Meek showed little brotherly love to 50 Cent, whom he unsuccessfully lined up in his sights.

EXCLUSIVE: Sideways Crew Member Shan Vincent De Paul Premieres One-Take "Die Iconic" Video

(AllHipHop News) Toronto-based artist Shan Vincent De Paul is set to release his debut album Saviors this spring, but before the Sri Lankan-born rhymer lets loose the LP, he drops the stunning visuals for his track “Die Iconic.”

“The song was written and filmed the day after my daughter was born. In a matter of just one night, I went from having nothing to lose to suddenly having everything to lose,” SVDP tells AllHipHop.com. “It was a moment of enlightenment, the outpouring of new-found strength and fearlessness to fulfill a higher purpose.”

The “Die Iconic” video was shot in one take, and features a close-up view of Shan performing the song without blinking once. He partnered with Derek DaCosta to direct the clip.

“The video was one of those unplanned, unexpected ‘lightening in a bottle’ moments where I hardly remember performing it,” SVDP explains. “After watching it, I was opposed to releasing the video at all – I worried people would feel too uncomfortable watching it. But my brother and creative partner Dex reminded me of how important it was in order for people to really understand the vulnerability of the album.”

Shan is one-fourth of the songwriting/production/art design sideways crew, a group of like-minded artists operating out of a Toronto West End studio. In addition to SVDP, sideways consists of La+ch, Michah, and Coleman Hell (of the 2015 hit “2 Heads“).

Three Questions: DaKidQuence

Despite coming from a state he admits has very little nightlife and a small percentage of people that appreciate new school rap, West Virginia native DaKidQuence is looking to break out as a rising rapper with mass appeal. Quence can attract the turn up crowd with efforts such as “Get The F*ck Out My Face (Remix),” or he can drop homage bars like on “WestCoastin’ (NWA Tribute).”

Online music fans are starting to pay attention. DKQ has already collected over 30,000 Soundcloud plays on his Rich The Kid and Cap-1 assisted single “PassIt!” His catalog also includes collaborations with Funk Volume’s Dizzy Wright and Fly America’s Mark Battles.

Quence’s turn toward a music career began over a decade ago when he began writing poetry for his grandmother, mother, and girls in his life. He then watched his middle school peers freestyle. The energy and attention from those rap sessions sparked an ambition to put together his own rhymes over beats.

After building connections in the Hip Hop hotbed of Atlanta, DaKidQuence is making moves to expand his brand across the nation. AllHipHop.com caught up with DKQ for the “Three Questions” series where he reflects on his first time getting high and more.

What’s the greatest part of being a 90’s baby?

Sh*t, my style, my wave, my persona. I’ve got an old soul, so I’ve been told. Meaning, I should’ve been my age now during that time. I would have wrecked sh*t. I’d be a Jay Z ass n*gga by now. [laughs] But yeah, I just appreciate the realness and naturalness of everything back then. Sh*t’s so fake, watered down, simple, and wack nowadays.

You have the track “PassIt!” What’s one of your most memorable moments getting high?

Sh*t, you got me there, I’ve been so high so many times. Nah, probably the first time ever in 7th grade. I was 12-13 years old. My friends and I caught the bus to school and would be there like 30 minutes before the doors unlocked, so we would walk over to 7 Eleven and get snacks. They would go get high behind the store.

I think I was listening to The Chronic by Dr. Dre at the time, so it was like perfect timing. They had one pinner ass joint of some good mid, and I hit that sh*t like 3 times. It felt soooooo good. I went to the store, got hella snacks, went back over to school, went in the cafeteria for breakfast, and by that time the weed had actually set in, I genuinely thought I was dying [laughs].

N*ggas was clowning me about being so worried, telling me, “It’s just the chronic bro.” [laughs] I literally was seconds away from calling my grandma to tell on myself and have her come get me to go to the hospital, until I fell asleep in first class and woke up in the office cause n*ggas thought I was dead. [laughs]

If you could only do one of the following things during your career, which would you pick and why? Record a song with Jay Z, win a Grammy for Best Rap Album, or perform at the Super Bowl?

Definitely the Grammy, not only for myself and my team, but I always told my grandma I would bring home a Grammy for her. She passed away last year, so I’m harder at work for that than ever before. Honestly, I know what I want with all this music sh*t.  It’s just a matter of time.

EXCLUSIVE: C-Murder & Boosie Badazz To Release Joint Album ‘Penitentiary Chances’

(AllHipHop News) A week after AllHipHop.com broke the story of Mannie Fresh’s announcement about a joint album with Lil Wayne and Juvenile, there is more news of Louisiana born rap stars teaming up for a project.

TRU-Bossalinie Records artist Vs reveals his label boss C-Murder and Baton Rouge representative Boosie Badazz have worked on music together. In an exclusive interview, Vs discussed the forthcoming Penitentiary Chances album from C-Murder and Boosie.

“In a few months, we’re about to drop this joint with [C-Murder] and Boosie,” Vs tell AllHipHop. “I’m on two joints on there. One of them is called ‘This Ain’t Living’ with just me and Boosie together. The other one is called ‘Strapped Up’ with me, C-Murder, and Boosie.”

He adds, “That’s just them two linking up on an album, doing something they always wanted to do, but never got a chance to do. By them both being incarcerated, they had time to put their heads together and come up with a project.”

Another source close to TRU-Bossalinie has confirmed with AllHipHop.com that Penitentiary Chances is set to arrive in April. The project has been described as Boosie and C-Murder telling real life street stories. T-Rhythm and Moneybeats provided the bulk of the production for the collaborative LP.

Boosie was released from Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola in 2014 after serving nearly five years for a drug conviction and probation violation. C-Murder is currently still incarcerated at Angola for a 2009 murder conviction. The “All I Wanted 2 Be Was A Soldier” rhymer has maintained he is innocent, and his attorneys have been fighting the conviction for years.

C-Murder and Boosie Badazz’s Penitentiary Chances is scheduled for release on April 15. Boosie will be releasing his next solo album Out My Feelings (In My Past) on February 1.

REVIEW & STREAM: Consequence’s Return Is Fulfilled With A Good Comeback Story

(AllHipHop Reviews) Consequence drops his latest A Good Comeback Story, which co-stars his adorable son Caiden. The title is suggestive and, upon listening, the EP turns out to be just that – a return to grace. Consequence represents a rare breed in 2016, the last surviving remnants of an era long gone from Hip-Hop. It’s not a bad space to be in, considering some of modern rap feels soulless. A Good Comeback Story clocks in 8 tracks so the Queens rapper gets in and out while the getting is good. The music here is solid and the lyrics are on point. Cons trades bars with Q-Tip on “No Matter What,” talks money with Ryan Leslie on “Every Night,” and turns up with Lupe Fiasco on “Countdown.” But don’t sleep. Cons can do his thing solo solo if he must. Songs like “Tuck Your Release” prove that. On that song, he says “I’m armed with bars like Ronda Rousey’ armbar” and “I sleep with one eye open like Fetty Wap.” Overall, this is pretty much the way to go. Serve the public, cater to your audience and get out. There are times when the beats are a bit too sparse, but that’s just the boom bap. It has been a minute. A Good Comeback Story concludes with “Battle Anybody” with the former reality star talking slick. You gotta listen. Bars.

Tony Yayo Reacts To Meek Mill's '4/4' Disses to 50 Cent

The MMG-G Unit beef continues, and more artists are starting to add their two cents (no pun intended) to the conflict that initially started between Rick Ross and 50 Cent. Yesterday, MMG-signed rapper Meek Mill released “4/4”, a surprise four-track EP. On the project features one song that took shots at 50 Cent, claiming that he was a clown for “co-signing rats.” 50 responded by reiterating Meek’s huge L to Drake last year.

Now, Tony Yayo has his own words to say about Meek’s recent Diss. The G-Unit member took to Twitter to speak out about Meek’s MMG owner.

https://twitter.com/TonyYayo/status/688819640974340096

He then took more shots at Meek Mill by posting two images on Instagram.

With a physical altercation between members at the BET Hip Hop Awards as well as 50 Cent and Rick Ross fighting each other in court with Rick Ross’ pistol-whipping/kidnapping charges back in the summer, it looks like this beef will only get worst with more rapper taking sides between G-Unit and MMG.
