Rumor has it that Kim Kardashian was after Jay Z before she landed Kanye West. Allegedly Scott Disick and Lamar Odom are ready to reveal a long list of men the Kardashian women have been linked too now that they both have been booted from the extended family. According to @Wordonthestreetznews Kim K was allegedly interested in Jay-Z romantically, but knew he was off limits. Supposedly she’s been working overtime to assure Ye that the rumor is completely false.
Bow Wow has recently signed a management deal under Diddy/Bad Boy. He feels that this will help him make more money and take his career to the next level. Now Diddy knows talent, music, how to secure deals etc but then there’s the “Bad Boy graveyard” thing. Do you think Bow inking the deal with Diddy will turn his career around?
As we know there was a time where The Game had been linked to Khloe Kardashian and Kim Kardashian. Game told Wendy Williams,
“Khloé’s just a really good friend. Before you guys knew her as ‘Khloé Kardashian,’ she was just like the tomboy Kardashian. She was cool. She would come hangout with us and chill. It was never about that.”
When asked about Kim he said, “that’s neither here nor there.” He said Kayne and Kim are great and he didn’t want to disrespect their family infrastructure. We are impressed with how The Game handled this interview, however is it just us or does it still seem like it was still something between him and both of the sisters? #RealSisters.
(AllHipHop News) The Game is set to drop his next studio album The Documentary 2 on October 9. Game recently revealed the project will be a double CD with 38 tracks, and in an interview with The Breakfast Club the West Coast emcee talked about the sequel to his debut LP being a classic.
“It’s a real good body of work. I didn’t start saying it was a classic til the powers that be – I played it for the Diddys, Sways, and Dr. Dres. They were saying that,” stated Game. “Once I got finished with the album and I listened all the way through, I thought it was a pretty good body of work and that it could be called a classic.”
Game also spoke on his recent spats with other artists like Lil Durk, Young Thug, and Chris Brown. According to the “100” spitter all of those situations have been settled.
Game said, “Once we press – me and Wack – the way that we do it, everybody acts like they didn’t just do what they just did.”
“People always try to call people on me, and it never really works out for them,” added Game. “It ends up backfiring, and the apologies get displayed. Then we go back to life.”
Kidd Kidd stopped by Hot 1079 to chop it up with B High about his new mixtape “F## Da Fame”. During the conversation Kidd also discusses his New Warleans documentary which chronicles the lives of N.O. citizens 10 years after Hurricane Katrina. Furthermore Kidd talks about working with 50 and joining G Unit. As well as his relationship with Lil Wayne and much more.
(AllHipHop News) The writers of the hit Fox series Empire decided to throw the real life “beef” between 50 Cent and Taraji P. Henson into the show’s script. Late last year, 50 accused the Hip Hop soap opera of stealing from his own Starz drama Power. Henson (who plays Cookie Lyon on Empire) playfully fired back at the Queens rapper/actor on Twitter.
Then on last night’s season 2 premiere of Empire, the character Cookie took a shot at 5-0, calling the G-Unit boss “thirsty.” Of course Fiddy decided to address Cookie’s comments.
“I can’t believe Cookie would say some sh*t like that about me. Thirsty? Me thirsty? Come on, you stupid?” 50 can be heard saying in a video.
He added, “Me and Cookie go way back. You know I hit that.”
(AllHipHop News) Earlier this year it seem as if Kanye West was on the verge of releasing his 7th studio album SWISH (formerly titled So Help Me God). The GOOD Music head shared the tracks “Only One,” “All Day,” and “Wolves,” but those songs were never followed up with a full length project.
Vanity Fair recently spoke with West about his Yeezy Season 2 fashion collection. The conversation also included the Chicago native being asked if his next LP will take another year before it hits stores.
“I’m not sure. I’m not worried about the years. I’m worried about the life and the body of work that I can put out while I’m breathing,” responded Ye.
SWISH may or may not arrive in the next 365 days, but Kanye is still looking beyond that time to 2020. The blogosphere went ballistic when West announced he plans to run for President of the United States in five years. Was he serious? It appears Ye is looking to try a different approach to campaigning.
“When I run for president, I’d prefer not to run against someone. I would be like ‘I want to work with you.’ As soon as I heard [Ben] Carson speak, I tried for three weeks to get on the phone with him. I was like this is the most brilliant guy,” said Kanye. “And I think all the people running right now have something that each of the others needs. But the idea of this separation and this gladiator battle takes away from the main focus that the world needs help and the world needs all the people in a position of power or influence to come together.”
(AllHipHop News) For well over a decade, the recording industry has been struggling to deal with he internet’s ability to make purchasing music nearly extinct. An entire generation of fans have grown up with the belief that they should never have to pay for tunes. One Millennial rap artist is not on board with the concept of “free-ninety-nine.”
Not only does Vince Staples argue that music has monetary value, the California performer told Kansan.com that he does not have an issue with artists seeking commercial appeal.
“To me, music should always be commercial. It should always be something that’s purchased because it holds a value. Things that don’t have value are free. So, if music has a value, and we’re all fans of music, it should always be for sale,” said Staples.
He added, “Going commercial isn’t a thing. It’s sad… an artist is trying to feed themselves off the music is considered them making a transition. That should always be what it is. But it’s viewed as, you know, music is just free and we’re supposed to just give out music at a high value at a fast rate.”
The Summertime ’06 album creator also stated the closest thing to a “rock star” in modern times are Hip Hop acts such as A$AP Rocky, Travis $cott, Kanye West, Tyler, the Creator, and Gucci Mane. He even makes the point that Hip Hop is the leading culture of today.
“You don’t see people walking around dressing like Jack White. That’s not real,” stated Staples. “So Hip Hop is a popular, dominant culture. But the fact that Hip Hop belongs to urban and typically Black people, it’s why we can’t just say that Hip Hop is the popular culture. But it is. There’s no way around it.”
(AllHipHop News) MC WAR’s upcoming face-off between Keith Murray and Fredro Starr will have major battle rap star power in attendance. Murda Mook, a first ballot hall of fame battler, will be on hand to host the “Generation X” event on October 4.
“I need everybody to be in the building. I’m gonna be there. Just for the culture, for everything that’s going on, it’s a great move,” says Mook.
Besides Murda Mook, Hot 97’s DJ Enuff has signed on for the showcase as well. More announcements about “Generation X” are expected in the coming days.
The Murray versus Starr battle will take place at Milk River in Brooklyn. Tickets are available at mcwars.com. The event will also broadcast on AllHipHop.com.
DeKalb County, Georgia has become an effective incubator of sound. Besides being home to some of the best high school marching bands in the country, the Atlanta area enclave has also produced top Hip Hop talent from Swizz Beatz to Gucci Mane to B.o.B.
Up next to wave the flag for the Eastside of the ATL is leading emcee Jarren Benton. Hailing from Decatur, Benton has been building buzz all across metro Atlanta ever since he began performing at local open mic events in the mid-2000’s.
“At one show I performed this song called ‘Southern Man’ and the crowd really f*cked with it,” Benton tells AllHipHop.com “I saw the reaction and it was like, ‘I guess I am doing something right.’ Everybody always said I was a dope writer, a dope lyricist. It was different from the sh*t in Atlanta.”
Trap beats have become the most recognized soundscape to erupt from Atlanta over the last decade, but Benton represents a musical style that is wrapped in lively lines, threatening themes, and extreme escapism. The visuals for the track “Skitzo” personify Benton’s idgaf approach to creating art.
“Skitzo” hit the net in 2011, and the online rap community took notice. The drug-infused, blood-soaked clip introduced this crazy horror film character that was previously unknown to reside in Atlanta.
“I always said if I’m going to do a low budget video, we might as well make it look as outlandish as we can. Once we did that video, people just started f*cking with us,” explains Benton.
The 33-year-old rhymer’s turn towards crafting tunes traces back to his earliest days. In fact, Jarren cannot remember a time when he did not want to one day pick up a microphone. His household was filled with classic Hip Hop from the 1980’s, and cable shows dedicated to covering the culture became part of his TV viewing routine.
“My mom put me on to Hip Hop. She would bring home music like Beastie Boys and Run DMC when I was a baby. I was always captivated by the sound,” Benton recalls. “Seeing those images of the rappers on Yo! MTV Raps and Rap City – I felt like I related to it. I don’t know why. It was the only music that pulled me in.”
Those childhood learning experiences in Golden Era rap music would eventually lead to Benton’s own creations. The Beatgods Present… Jarren Benton: The Mixtape and Huffing Glue with Hasselhoff helped establish a connection with fans. Then his 2012 mixtape Freebasing with Kevin Bacon became his breakout project.
In addition, Freebasing was Benton’s first official release on Funk Volume, the indie label founded by Los Angeles artist Hopsin and Damien “Dame” Ritter. Benton took meetings with other labels like Def Jam, but FV secured the signature.
“In between all those times of trying to pursue music and meeting people, all the industry people all had the same type of vibe, the same type of attitude. This bullsh*t ass attitude,” states Benton. “It’s like they all read this one book called How To Be A Fake Ass P. Diddy In The City. It was just a whole bunch of bullsh*t. I started seeing through that sh*t.”
According to Jarren, it was the genuine approach of Funk Volume CEO Dame Ritter that convinced him the West Coast company was the best fit for his brand. Hometown industry insiders told Benton to focus on pushing a single, but his plan was more focused on raising a grassroots fan base. Funk Volume understood the mission.
Dame and Hopsin have constructed a well oiled machine with Funk Volume. The squad features Hop, Benton, Dizzy Wright, SwizZz, DJ Hoppa and Kato. The artists’ combined social media platforms exceed 5 million followers, and the label’s official YouTube channel has over 116 million views.
Even without radio play, the team at FV have managed to sell out arenas across the nation. Their supporters even bested other fandoms by voting Wright (2013) and Benton (2014) onto XXL’s Freshman Class cover as the “People’s Champ.” With Hopsin’s placement in 2012, a Funk Volume representative made the coveted list three consecutive years.
So what separates FV from other Hip Hop imprints? Benton says his faction is all about carving its own lane and pushing artistic boundaries.
“People think they gotta chase someone else’s success. Let’s say Soulja Boy comes out with a song called ‘Do The Soulja Boy’ and it becomes big. All of a sudden you got a bunch of people whose only advice is ‘Let’s do that. Let’s copy the exact same thing he did,’” conveys Benton. “Everybody [on Funk Volume] has a vision. Everybody believes in that vision. It doesn’t happen overnight, but if you stay consistent with your vision. It’s gonna happen. It’s gonna build. It’s gonna grow.”
Benton planted his latest seed in January with a 34-minute project. The Slow Motion EP Volume 1 was dedicated to Jahmal “Slow Motion” Pryor. Benton’s close friend and former manager died in 2013.
The standout closing cut on Slow Motion has become a fan favorite. “Silence” served as a cathartic release for Jarren as he used the recording booth as a psychologist’s couch to deal with Pryor’s passing. The honest and heartfelt song has such a deep emotional connection that Benton refuses to perform it on tour or watch the video.
“The way he died was weird. It wasn’t like he was sick. Usually when you know someone is suffering with cancer, you can prep yourself for their passing. This sh*t happened out of the blue,” Benton expresses. “As soon as he died, like three weeks later I went back on the road and stayed on the road a whole year. I don’t think I really gave myself a chance to mourn the homie.”
On the opposite end of Slow Motion is the Kato-produced “You Don’t Know Me.” Benton does not hold back on the EP’s initial track. He breaks out the gate by spitting, “F*ck these lame n*ggas in my city.”
“I dig a lot of Trap sh*t coming out of the city. But I think the major brands in Atlanta – via radio or any popular outlets we have – only concentrate on that one side,” suggests Benton. “You got your major DJs – I ain’t saying no names – that say, ‘I’m so sick of the same old bullsh*t.’ But then these motherf*ckers turn around and play the same bullsh*t over and over. We don’t have somebody that’s putting their neck on the line that’s connected to a lot of these major avenues.”
He adds, “I f*ck with a lot of that sh*t. I’m a Young Thug fan. I have all that sh*t on my iTunes. I love the sound. I f*ck with Future. I have not stopped listening to DS2. I still have those elements in my music. Lyrically, I may not be saying the same sh*t, but it’s still has the same sound. I just want a balance. It would be nice to show both of those sides of Atlanta.”
Benton will continue to do his part in shining a light on A-town’s unheralded diverse sound. If the public is able to hear a second volume of Slow Motion, it will be in the form of a full-length follow-up to 2013’s My Grandma’s Basement studio album. But Benton is not sure he wants to release the already completed sequel.
“I got a Slow Motion part 2 done. I’m the dumbest, weirdest music maker. I sit on music. I’ll get in different moods. I might get where I want to make weird sh*t, then six months later I’ll be like, ‘I don’t like this sh*t,’” says Benton. “I don’t think I want to put it out, because I’m not in that place. I want to do something different.”
Listeners can be on the lookout for Benton to possibly let loose a 5-track EP of songs from his 2014 #BlackOctober series. Meanwhile, the Decatur rhymer is finishing 2015 by embarking on an international tour with his Funk Volume brethren. And by 2020, Benton sees himself as standing beside the rap game’s elite.
Jarren declares, “I plan on being on top in five years, but we don’t control the world. All I can do is keep putting forth that energy.”
While going through a bankruptcy trial, 50 Cent found time to file a lawsuit. The Queens native has filed a lawsuit in Connecticut bankruptcy court against a man who he says improperly acted as his agent, the New York Daily News reports. According to the lawsuit, 50 claims that a TV consultant named Andrew Jameson collected money on projects that never came to fruition and damaged business relationships.
It is alleged that Jameson pitched a show to the E! Network about G-Unit after they ended their business relationship. When the “9 Shots” rapper told E! Entertainment that he would not do the show, he was informed that Jameson and a former lawyer already sealed the deal. He still refused to do the unscripted show, which resulted in his relationship with E! and their parent company NBC Universal being “severely damaged.”
Snoop Dogg’s love for marijuana is everlasting and now he is launching a website dedicated strictly to the ganja. The Doggfather is teaming up with entrepreneur Ted Chung to bring the weed lovers MerryJane.com, a site that is reportedly deemed a “crossroads of pot culture, business, politics, [and] health,” TechCrunch reports.
“I was investing on creativity,” Snoop said. “Then it became more business. Then it was things that I liked, for example the cannabis industry.”
The site will teach visitors how to choose the proper strain of marijuana for their smoking pleasure and also show the how to make the best edible dishes using the herb. Visitors can also watch smokers reflect on the first time they sparked something on a show called Deflowered.
Dispensaries will eventually be able to run their own digital store through the site as well.
Chung says the site will also focus on the business side of the marijuana world and hopes that Merry Jane will become a premier source of news for the chiefers. Snoop
Chris Brown may not be able to tour in Australia later this year because of the 2009 assault against Rihanna. An Australian government minster, Michaelia Cash, is recommending that Brown not be granted a visa by immigration minister Peter Duttton, Billboard reports.
Cash spoke Thursday (Sept. 23) at a launch event for a federal initiative to prevent domestic violence.
“People need to understand if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you: `You cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia,'” Cash said.
Breezy was supposed to take his “One Hell of a Nite” tour to Australia in December and perform four shows.
Minster Cash is not the only one trying to keep Breezy from entering Australia. Activist group GetUp! has gotten over 10,000 signatures on a petition asking for Brown not to be granted entry into the continent due to his past domestic violence charges.
Radio station Nova FM has also decided to not to support the tour anymore.
An immigration official reportedly said that the “Zero” singer will not be eligible for a visa unless “given a special direction.”
After dropping an album and a mixtape in the same summer, Dom Kennedy is heading out on tour. Usher has jumped the broom. He secretly wed his girlfriend, Grace Miguel, earlier this month before honeymooning in Havana, Cuba during Labor Day weekend, Us Weekly reports.
The lovebirds reportedly decided to ditch the idea of tying the knot in front of 100 guests in Atlanta and eloped instead. They met in 2009 and became engaged back in January.
Besides being his new wife, Miguel is also Ush’s manager and business partner.
The “I Don’t Mind” singer doesn’t have any children with Miguel but has two sons, 6-year-old Naviyd Ely and 7-year-old Usher Raymond V, from his previous marriage to Tameka Foster.
Whether it’s about his no. 1 album, Dirty Sprite 2, or his bad blood with his ex-fiancee Ciara, Future remains the talk of the town. The Freebandz rep is XXL’s latest cover star and opened up not only about his beef with Ciara but the feud between his two hip-hop comrades, Drake and Meek Mill.
When it comes to Ciara and her boyfriend Russell Wilson, Future claims that he does not have an issue with Wilson being around his son, but he feels Ciara does certain things in the spotlight out of spite.
“I’m telling you right now, I’m giving you two sides. Like, I’m cool with it. I’m cool with him being around him but certain situations, we all in the public eye, you can’t move around with my son a certain kind of way, you know what I’m saying? I feel like a lot of moves are just made out of just being evil, basically. Because, you know, the success of my album and you still want to make certain moves to take the spotlight off me a little bit and shed light on a negative situation. Why would you want to put light on a negative situation? Even if I didn’t care about it, the people have a way of looking at it. Why would you want to give these people an opinion on our kid? Why won’t we just let our child be a child?”
Fewtch also said that he never got to know Wilson, which is another gripe he has with CiCi.
“I want to be able to judge him for myself. I want to judge the nannies that’s around my child. I don’t want to pay for a nanny that I never met, that I never got a chance to interview. That’s not the life I want for my child. I want to be involved 100 percent in all decisions made. This my flesh and blood. If I don’t want him to do something, there’s supposed to [be a] compromise or we supposed to talk about it. You not supposed to just go behind my back and do it. This is my son, too.”
As for the tension between Drizzy and Meek, the “Honest” rapper said he has love for both of them but didn’t comment on their beef or Meek’s claims that Drake doesn’t write his own rhymes.
“On some real s###, I love Meek. And the Drake situation, I feel like genuinely we’ve been building a great relationship over these years. We got history together. We went on a few tours together so it was like, publicly, some things was said and it was took out of context. And even with the situation coming out, we put it all behind us, went on a sold out tour and we built from that and I feel like it’s genuine, it’s authentic and we built trust between each other. So with trust it’s just bringing us closer because in this industry, as you get bigger, I feel like you lose trust for everyone around you. You feel like the people you come in contact with, you can’t trust them. So I feel like it had to happen over years, that couldn’t happen over a few months.”
Future just dropped a joint project with Drake, What A Time To Be Alive, which is projected to sell over 500,000 copies its first week.

While details are still being confirmed, last night on Los Angeles’ KTLA news it was reported that 2 dead bodies were uncovered at supposed Chief Keef owned pot dispensary in Compton, CA.
At around 7 pm tonight (Sept. 23rd) deputies were called after a body was found. LA County Sheriffs began conducting interviews and collecting evidence when later another body was uncovered on the scene
Early reports are suggesting that this dispensary is owned by the GLO Gang, Chief Keef’s outfit, and while detectives are still looking for info, neighbors say they heard gun shots in the early hours of the morning recently.
According to KTLA, Detectives responded to a call about on 4800 block of East Compton Boulevard, where according to Lt. Nabeel Mitry of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, 2 bodies were found and pronounced dead on the scene.
Just days ago a Cheif Keef concert in LA was shut down after just one song when LAPD determined the proper permits were not obtained for the show.
