Early Sales Predictions For Drake & Future’s ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ Are In

DRIZZY HENDRIX IS LOOKING TO OPEN WITH BIG NUMBERS

(AllHipHop News) The combination of Drake and Future appears to be a winning one with the public. According to Hits Daily Double, label insiders are expecting the duo’s joint retail mixtape What A Time To Be Alive to open with huge first week sales.

Despite being released exclusively through Apple for one week, WATTBA is rumored to sell as much as 500,000 copies out of the gate. That total would be the highest initial week sales for a Hip Hop album in 2015.

Drake already holds the record for his February release If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late with 495,000 copies. Future’s DS2 pushed 126,000 in July. The high-profile collaborative rap effort from Jay Z and Kanye West, Watch The Throne, sold 437,000 copies its opening first week in 2011.

The 500,000 units for What A Time is just an early prediction at the moment. That number could be higher or lower when the final numbers come in next week.
