Eazy-E’s Daughter Feels ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Didn’t Do Her Father’s Legacy Justice

With every biopic there is someone depicted or someone who is related that doesn’t completely agree with the film. Eazy-E’s daughter Erin Wright feels that the film left out a lot of pivotal moments in her father’s life. She rants that the movie doesn’t show that her father went to court and still made money off of Death Row. She states that the movie shows Eazy getting beat up by Suge Knight, and she claims that this didn’t actually happen. According to her, Eazy actually pulled a gun on Suge! She’s upset that a snippet of “Real Muthaf*ckin G’s” wasn’t played, and she’s not happy about the film leaving out Eazy-E finding Bone Thugs N Harmony. All in all she wants fans to know that in her opinion a lot of Eazy-E’s storyline is missing. She still encourages everyone to go see the film. Wright also says she’s releasing a documentary on her father’s legacy that won’t leave out any details!

Interscope Expected Dr. Dre’s ‘Compton’ To Sell A Million Copies?

Dr. Dre’s new album “Compton” opened with some nice sales numbers. The Doc’s comeback project sold 276,000 (295,000 eau) copies in its first week. That’s among the highest totals for the year, but was it still a disappointment for his label? According to Joe Budden, the answer is yes.

“Interscope expected 800,000 to 1,000,000,” said Joe on his podcast.

Even though Joey’s signed to Shady/Interscope with Slaughterhouse, he may not be the best source for the inner workings of the record company. Regardless, 276K in 2015 is a really good start. Especially since it was only available on iTunes and for stream on Apple Music.

Ice Cube & DJ Yella Discuss Twitter Beefing (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Obviously, Twitter and other social media sites did not exist when Ice Cube famously faced-off against his former group N.W.A in their classic battle.

But would it have been different if the crew were able to use “Twitter fingers” back in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s? Cube and DJ Yella were asked that question during an interview with WatchLOUD.

“It would have been the same thing,” said Cube about whether he would have written the N.W.A  diss track “No Vaseline.” He added, “Beef is beef. There was beef before Twitter. There’s going to be beef after Twitter.”

Quite of few new school performers are known to jump on the app to voice their thoughts about their peers. Meek Mill’s recent Twitter rant sparked his back-and-forth with Drake – the most talked about rap feud of the year. Yella questioned how can someone really “beef” on social media.

“How can you have beef on Twitter?” asked Yella. “Put it on records that’s it.”

“I did not put hands on Drake, and I do not want any problems with Drake,” said Puffy. “He’s putting in his work. I didn’t nothing to Drake. Drake is my friend.”

The Bad Boy Records CEO also addressed the speculation he had issues with Drizzy over the “0 To 100” beat. He claimed the situation was just a misunderstanding. But when Angela Yee asked Puff a follow-up question about the song, he revealed exactly why the track was sent to Drake.

“[I sent the song] for him to ghostwrite for me,” stated Puff.

Drake was caught up in his own “ghostwriting” controversy this summer after Meek Mill accused Atlanta rapper Quentin Miller of writing the verse on “R.I.C.O.” off Dreams Worth More Than Money. Drake has yet to directly respond to the allegations. Puff appeared on Meek’s sophomore album as well.

Clowes filed a lawsuit claiming Shabba’s decision to crowd surf at an A$AP Ferg concert in 2013 led to her suffering a fractured vertebra. The woman believes Rocky is also responsible, because the entire crew has a history of stage diving at shows.

This is not the first time a concert goer has gone after Rocky legally. The At.Long.Last.A$AP creator was previously sued for allegedly assaulting a woman at the 2013 Made In America Festival. Lisa Wade was also seeking $75,000. The case was settled out of court.

OG Maco Discusses Social Media Rants

(AllHipHop News) Last Monday (Aug. 10), pertaining to his thoughts on being characterized as a rapper who uses social media to merely “rant,” OG Maco, exclusively spoke with AllHipHop. The “You Guessed It” artist asserted that, “They call them rants that I go on —sometimes, you know, I have to not be a gimmick; that sucks —I try to maintain as much as my integrity as I can. Every day I’m going to be upset [about something].”

He then challenged the public’s notion that Hip-Hop’s MC’s are merely one dimensional. “But to only break a human being down that he can only care about this—if you’re going to do “social change” Civil-Rights-Guy—then you can’t talk about who created the Dab [the Dabbin’ dance],” he said before he included, “It’s just so much limitations that people try to put on other human beings.”

EXCLUSIVE: OG Maco Talks People Dismissing His Talent, Social Media Rants, & the Internet Age

Videographer: Frsk Purple / Photo Credit: Niki G.

Last week, AllHipHop received an exclusive invite to attend the video shoot for the G4 Boyz’Alexander Wang,” which features none other than, OG Maco. Often criticized for his candid use of social media, OG poignantly explained his stance on several subjects, like his established discography.

An expansive body of work helped to earn his spot within the 2015 XXL Freshman class, but his creative integrity is often dismissed by the public. “It’s just one of those things. I don’t necessarily hate it or dislike it, or one way or another, because any small amount of research you can easily find out who I am,” he said. The Children of the Rage wordsmith then matter-of-factly added, “It’s usually that way with most people.”

Check out the full clip and to see what he has to say about his perceived social media “rants” and how the Internet Age is turning people into “robots.”

Toronto Rapper Tory Lanez Throws A Shot At Drake (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Is Tory Lanez the next rapper to jump into the ring with Drake? Unlike Meek Mill, Lanez represents the same hometown as Drake. The Toronto rapper spit a freestyle on Sway In The Morning that included a slight jab at Drizzy.

“I know these n*ggas about to act scary. T.O. n*gga, only spitting without the Blackberry,” rapped Tory.

In 2009, Drake was famously caught on camera “freestyling” by reading lyrics off his cell phone. Critics of the OVO leader often cite that moment on Hot 97 as a low point for Drake.

This is not the first time Tory has taken aim at Drake. Last year he put up $10,000 in a challenge to his fellow Canadian. Lanez says he spoke to the “10 Bands” performer. Since Drake supposedly stated he enjoyed Tory’s music, the “Say It” rapper was able to keep his 10K.

AHH Album Review Ro Spit – IV Life

Written by Andrew AG Barnett

Pontiac, Michigan’s own Ro Spit’s new album, “IV Life”, is laced with polished rap flows and clever lines that would make even Jay-Z smirk. Ro Spit shows off his technical rapping skills all over this project, but more importantly he shows the ability to craft songs. His creativity and skill backed with great production work together to create a good result.

The album’s intro “Triumph” is perfect and features Raheem Devaughn who really drives the emotion of the record. This intro sets off the album as Ro spits witty, but meaningful quotables that are only elevated once Devaughn starts singing. This trend of cl;ever wordplay continues throughout the album. You don’t have to ever have a conversation with Ro to know he puts a lot of thought into his rhymes.

The album’s production is very impressive. Rappers with the amount of pure skill that Ro have sometimes seem to lack in the production department, but that’s not the case here. The beats fit and flow smoothly from song to song, and instead of overshadowing Ro’s lyrics, the beats and words work together like magic; this is a credit to Ro’s artistry.

This album has a lot of bright spots. The only song that kind of throws off the album is “Slow Stir” which is kind of lazy effort, but all in all this album is a super solid project. Sometimes i hear Ro giving me a kind of Jay-Z feel.(See “Right Here”) His features are used effectively, and he holds his own with lyrical heavyweights like Royce Da 5’9” and Bun B. “IV Life” is definitely worth the listen and you might just become a fan.

Lyrics: 8.5/10
Production: 8/10
Cohesiveness: 7.5/10
Replay Value: 7/10

Overall: 8/10

Standout tracks: “Triumph,” “Glorious,” “Forbidden,” “Self-Titled(Who Got It?)”
