Rumor has it, Nicki Minaj made Meek Mill pull out of his beef with Drake for the sake of trying to save his image and her Pinkprint Tour. Data compiled by the site TickPick suggests that the beef has affected ticket sales for Nicki’s Pinkprint tour. Ticket prices for the tour have even gone down. Oh yeah, and people are still booing Meek’s “Dreams & Nightmares” intro at clubs over the beef.
Aviator Keyz and DJ Bran, who is Meek Mill’s official tour DJ, just dropped a new banger. The Delaware natives utilize a track produced by Veorleior to make “Money Calling.” Check it out.

It looks like Young Thug’s girlfriend Jerrika is fed up! She posted and soon deleted,
“You can’t put a crown on a clown and expect a King.”
She mentioned being fed up with Young Thug sliding in other females’ DMs, but it seems like she may be fed up with addressing and covering up his sexuality.
Truez drops a new joint that is like a two for one deal. You get two different songs and two different types of moods on the songs. The first one is a dope song that is more upbeat and the second one has more of a political feel. Directed by GT Films & Truez this video seeks to address the chaos and racial tension going on in the world today. This two part video shows a hate crime that is similar to what is taking place in our backyards everyday. Wake up everyone!
(AllHipHop News) This weekend, the entire entertainment world has its attention on the new N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton. Director F. Gary Gray has dedicated years into making the feature film about Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, MC Ren, and DJ Yella. The highly anticipated movie could likely open the door to future motion picture adaptations of other prominent Hip Hop acts.
So if Gray could see another movie made about a rap representative, who would the veteran filmmaker want to view portrayed on the big screen? After admitting Straight Outta Compton is squarely at the front of his mind at the moment, Gray offered a famous New York based collective as an interesting subject for a film.
“I’m so into Straight Outta Compton it’s hard to answer, but I could tell you I don’t know the story of Wu-Tang. I know they did something really different,” Gray tells AllHipHop.com. “There’s a million stories out there, but again – maybe selfishly – I’m so immersed in the world of N.W.A., it’s hard for me to think outside that right now.”
Like N.W.A, the Wu-Tang Clan is considered a preeminent Hip Hop group. The two legendary crews also hold the distinction of spawning numerous successful solo careers.
N.W.A produced entertainment moguls Cube, Dre, and Eazy. The Wu’s family tree includes RZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, GZA, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, Cappadonna, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard.
Straight Outta Compton hits theaters today, August 14. Read AllHipHop’s full interview with F. Gary Gray here.

(AllHipHop News) Janelle Monáe’s protégé Jidenna has a certified hit on his hands with “Classic Man.” The tune has become a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, and a remix of the track features Hip Hop superstar Kendrick Lamar.
With the success of the song, the Wondaland Records artist has faced speculation he sampled another smash record from last summer. Some listeners suspected “Classic Man” directly borrowed from Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy,” but Jidenna says that is not true.
“Some of the people have said Iggy Azalea is getting paid off this record. I’ve seen that a lot. The truth is, we actually didn’t sample it. But ever since the decision of Robin Thicke and Pharrell, we believe that it was important to make sure that we are safe,” explains Jidenna in an interview with Ebro In The Morning.
The surprising outcome from the Marvin Gaye family’s lawsuit victory over Thicke and Pharrell Williams caused many musicians to be more careful about crediting other performers that could simply appear to have inspired their work.
The Gaye family was awarded $7.4 million, because Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” (produced by Pharrell) sounded similar to Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up.” Fifty percent of the single’s publishing royalties must go to the late R&B icon’s descendants as well. However, Thicke has stated the judgement is still not final.
“When that Robin Thicke verdict came out, we realized the game had changed in music,” said Jidenna. “I’m glad we were safe.”
Monaé added her own thoughts on the Azalea/Jidenna situation, “Hey, she steals from us, we steal back.”

(AllHipHop News) Another Hip-Hop biographical film is set to hit theaters in 2016. Southern rap legend Percy “Master P” Miller’s life story will be depicted in the forthcoming film Ice Cream Man: King Of The South. The movie was written by Master P, Parde Bridget, and Wayne Conley. They bring alive the real story of a young Percy Miller and how he became one of the most influential names to Hip Hop.
Official Teaser
Master P broke major music barriers in the late 90’s with a 80/20 distribution deal that changed the Hip Hop industry. Miller is one of the most successful rappers of all time. The New Orleans born artist-entrepreneur founded the iconic No Limit Records which has sold over 75 million albums worldwide independently in a time when Hip Hop was run by the West and East coasts.
Master P (aka The Ice Cream Man) played a significant role in the rise of Southern Hip Hop to the mainstream. His 1997 album Ghetto D went triple platinum, and the LP spawned the club anthem “Make ‘Em Say Uhh!” featuring Fiend, Silkk The Shocker, Mia X, and Mystikal.
Rising from Louisiana’s Calliope Projects to amassing an estimated net worth north of $350 million is the epitome of the American Dream, and Miller has been mentioned as one of the top ten highest grossing entertainers according to Forbes. Moviegoers will be able to witness that journey with the release of the Master P biopic in Spring 2016.

(AllHipHop News) O’Shea Jackson, Jr. who portrays his iconic father, Ice Cube, in the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, which hits theaters today, recently spoke with AllHipHop and exclusively gave his thoughts on the recent Meek Mill-Drake beef. The fleeting beef, according to the Cali native is “a healthy rivalry.”
O’Shea, Jr, an emerging rapper who goes by the name, OMG, later explained his disappointment with Meek’s anticipated response to Drake. The lethargic reply “didn’t live up to the hype because of the long build up,” he said. With that in mind, OMG wasn’t too impressed with Drake’s “Back to Back,” saying it was “whatever.”
In response to the lingering war of waxed words, Ice Cube’s son shared, “With this whole situation we got to see how far that goes. That first track was so-so, and that second was one was like, ‘Ueh.” In the spirit of Hip-Hop he then challenged, “I want to see if Meek will come back. You know, it’s a healthy rivalry; we might get some good bars out of it.”

With all the “beef” cooking this summer, it’s no surprise stories of old battles are once again being brought up. DJ Clark Kent recently provided a brief history lesson about the situation between Jay Z and 2Pac.
The late, great emcee famously called out Jay on his The Don Killuminati cut “Bombs First,” and Kent told A Waste of Time podcast Hov recorded a response but didn’t release it out of respect for Pac’s death.
The “Brooklyn’s Finest” producer said:
Jay did a record going at Pac, but right as it was about to come out son died. We performed it though. You have to understand the chip on Jay’s shoulder is so crazy. It’s just like he had to perform it. We was at The Apollo. It was scathing. Crowds were like, “oh sh*t.” It was super hard. If he was alive there would have been no coming back.

Earlier this year, Puff Daddy (aka Diddy) was arrested for allegedly attacking one of his son’s football coaches at UCLA. Fortunately, the Bad Boy was not charged with a felony for supposedly swinging a kettleball at Coach Sal Alosi. There is even more good news for the Combs family.
According to TMZ, Justin Combs and UCLA head coach Jim L. Mora spoke and cleared the air about the whole mess. The cornerback can now hit the field with his teammates without worrying about his dad’s fight hanging over his head. But Puff is apparently not allowed near Bruins practices.

(AllHipHop News) In case you were unaware of N.W.A’s impact on Hip Hop, Rukkus turned Ice Cube, MC Ren, Eazy-E, The D.O.C, Dr. Dre, and DJ Yella’s family tree of artists into an infographic.
The crew that gave the world the classic LP Straight Outta Compton also played a role in advancing the careers of Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, The Game, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Westside Connection, Slaughterhouse, Will.i.am, and Kendrick Lamar.
Rukkus explained:
The chart below is a family tree of sorts; starting with N.W.A and trickling down via members of N.W.A that founded labels. The lines that connect show relationships, such as the artists to the label they founded/owned, as well as artists or groups who are signed to a label…
Although not a full on member of the group, The D.O.C. was arguably as important to the career of N.W.A as any one member, and for this chart’s purposes was treated as such. Overall we did our best to try to clearly and accurately paint the full picture.
Check out N.W.A’s musical lineage in the infographic below.

(AllHipHop News) The Internet was buzzing with rumors that Will Smith was attempting to bring back the classic 1990’s television series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. EW is now reporting the Philadelphia actor/rapper’s potential program is not an updated take of his NBC hit.
The show is said to be similar to The Fresh Prince by focusing on a “fish-out-of-water” story. Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment is producing the family sitcom, but there is no script or network attached at the moment.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ran on NBC from 1990 to 1996. Smith played a fictionalized version of himself. The series also starred Jazzy Jeff, Alfonso Ribeiro, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, and the late James Avery.

D-Block’s own Sheek Louch is no stranger to tackling other people’s instrumentals. His new project “Silverback Gorilla 2” is on the way so look out of that, but in the meantime, keep your ears to the streets as the Yonkers native doesn’t show any signs of slowing down anytime soon.
