Department Of Justice Preparing To Sue Ferguson Police Department

(AllHipHop News) The Department of Justice is likely not to pursue civil rights violation charges against former Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson for the killing of teenager Michael Brown, but CNN reports U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is preparing to bring a lawsuit against the Ferguson PD.

Results of a DOJ investigation into the death of Brown is expected to reveal a pattern of discrimination by Ferguson police. The potential lawsuit against the department could move forward unless the Ferguson PD changes the racially discriminatory tactics on its own. The feds could request court supervision over the department’s involvement with the local minority community.

“I have received nothing new,” Ferguson Chief Thomas Jackson told CNN. “Everything they suggested in the past has been reasonable and we have tried to comply.”

Lil' Wayne Isn't Talking To Birdman; Says 'Free Weezy Album' Will Drop In March

When Lil’ Wayne tweeted that he wanted off Cash Money Records, he shook up hip-hop. He called that record label home since his pre-teen years and fans were shocked that there was trouble in such a seemingly harmonious business and personal relationship. Wayne shocked us more when he slapped Birdman with a $51 million lawsuit over unpaid advances and the stalling of the Tha Carter V.  Now, Wayne has broken his silence.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, he spoke on the drama with the man who formerly referred to as his daddy. Weezy said they are not speaking right now. “I have no words,” he said. “I’m super-numb to it, to tell you the truth.”

The Young Money captain also further confirmed that Tha Carter V is done and that he is still eager to release it but can’t. “It’s super-done,” he said. “Cake baked, icing on top, name on top, candles lit. I would have released it yesterday if I could. But it’s a dead subject right now. It’s a jewel in the safe. It’s that stash-house money.”

Earlier this month, Wayne revealed via Twitter that he would be dropping a free project, The Free Weezy Album, to keep fans satisfied until the wait for The Carter V is over. The album, which he is putting in 12-hour shifts to record, will be released in March.

“I’m working on it every day, man,” said the 32-year-old. “I guarantee it’s going to be something dope. If you don’t want a musician being creative, don’t get The Free Weezy Album.”

Wayne also spoke on his previous comments about retirement.  “I’ve thought about it,” he said. “But for a person like me that bleeds, eats, sleeps and s#### music, it’s hard to do.”

Iggy Azalea Quits Twitter

Unfortunately, Iggy Azalea has been plagued with Twitter drama throughout her career. Besides the fact that she often uses her 140 characters to respond to critics and haters, the “Goddess” rapper is often sent less than nice tweets that slam her music, her outfits and anything else that trolls feel like attacking her for.  The 24-year-old has also clapped back at fellow celebs who have critiqued or ridiculed her including Azealia Banks, Eve, Jill Scott, Q-Tip, Tyler the Creator and many others. Her mentor, T.I recently, said that he wants her to stop responding to the haters by venting on her timeline and his wish is coming true. Iggy has quit Twitter, saying all the negativity she endures is changing her for the worse.

Nick Gordon Says He's Banned From Seeing Bobbi Kristina

Nick Gordon says that the Houston and Brown family have forbade him from seeing Bobbi Kristina as she remains in Atlanta’s Emory University Medical Center on life support, according to reports.  Gordon’s lawyer, Randall Kessler, released a statement Wednesday (Feb. 18) saying that he has not visited his girlfriend because her family doesn’t want him to.

“Nick has been trying, privately, to do everything he can to see Bobbi Kristina cooperatively,”  Kessler said.  “He has respected the family’s wishes and for that reason alone has not returned to the hospital and risked a public confrontation. But he desperately wants to be with the one he loves and continues to hope that his request will be granted.”

The 21-year-old’s family told TMZ that Gordon has not made a single attempt to be by her bedside and that the pictures he took in front of the hospital recently were just for show. Published reports have alleged that Bobby Brown’s family has threatened to put “hands on him” if he showed up.

Gordon is currently being investigated for any involvement in Bobbi Kristina being found unconscious because marks and bruises were found on her body.

There have been reports about the Houston and Brown family taking Bobbi Kristina off of life support but they have yet to confirm anything. She was found face down in her bathtub at her Atlanta condo on Jan. 31st.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Meek Mill Starts Instagram Beef With Baby Momma

For the most part Meek Mill’s baby momma Fahimah Raheem keeps a pretty low profile.

That’s why when she started liking Nicki Minaj’s ex Safaree Samuels Ig posts, there was no way the ish was gonna go unnoticed.

Mill got wind of the ‘innocent’ likes and blasted Raheem in a post of his own:

Word is once Meek saw what was going on he started blowing up Raheem’s phone non-stop. Raheem claims liking the posts was innocent, for the most part I’m really trying to believe her, but COME ON NOW. You know damn well what you were doing.

Raheem clapped back at her baby daddy’s antics in a message of her own:

Is she right? Should it matter whose pics she likes on IG if Mill is content with the baddest in the game? Hmmm….

North West Sparks No Kids Rule At NY Fashion Week

Thanks to North West, no kids are allowed at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

Last week at Kanye West’s adidas show as well as Alexander Wang’s show, North had a temper tantrum while sitting in the front row. As she fussed, cried and screamed other attendees like Beyonce, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, Nicki Minaj and P. Diddy looked noticeably uncomfortable with the one-year-old’s behavior.

The disruption has led to organizers banning children from all New York Fashion Week events. Photographer Kevin Tachman told US Weekly that he started North’s crying spell at Saturday’s (Feb. 14) Alexander Wang show. He has a Monkey Shutter Hugger Toy that is on top of his camera and when North saw it and couldn’t get it she had a fit.

“I brought the monkey to have fun with the models as I primarily shoot backstage and it’s always a good way to make the girls smile, ” he said. “Then I realized as word came that they were coming to sit front row that she may become fixated with it. I took the front row pics and all was fine but ended up shooting the show right across from them. So of course she wanted the toy.”

The newlyweds were also reportedly scolded by Wintour for bringing the child to the Fashion week shows.

PETA Bashes Chris Brown For Wearing Furs During NY Fashion Week

Chris Brown and his on-off again lover Karrueche were sitting front row at the Michael Costello runway show this past Tuesday (Feb. 17) for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. Pictures of them were uploaded to Instagram that showt hem donned in furs, which of course left PETA feeling disgruntled.

The animal rights organization released a statement slamming Breezy that reads:

“There are few things more out of touch than draping yourself in the skins of animals who were beaten, electrocuted, and even skinned alive for their fur. Pink’s New York Fashion Week PETA billboard shows that true beauty comes from kindness — Chris Brown’s furs are just more of the same from him: ugly violence.”

The “Ayo” singer has yet to respond.

Afroman Arrested For Massive Slap

Afroman, the rap singer known for the 2001 hit “Because I Got High,” has been arrested for punching a female fan that got on stage with him.

As the singer played on stage, the woman eased up on him and began to dance. Afroman then hauled off and cracked her with a roundhouse right hook that stunned the crowd. According to reports the woman was left bleeding and wept openly as the audience booed.

The performance, which took place Tuesday in Biloxi, Mississippi, was promptly cancelled.

Joseph Edgar Foreman, Afroman’s real name, was arrested on assault charges and released on $330 bond.

A rep for Afroman said that the rapper was caught off caught and may have been the woman’s fault for getting on the stage without being a part of the show.

”This was a completely involuntary reflex reaction to people infringing on his stage space,” the rep said in a prepared statement to Billboard. “It was uncharacteristic behavior that was initiated by outside uncontrolled forces.”

In a tweet Afroman said, “It is what it is.”

The Re-Tunchi-ment by Jarvis G.

Everyone that reaches the top falls from grace. It is a part of life that you can only be so good and consistent for so long before you have to wind it down. Jordan playing for the Washington Wizards is not how anyone is going to remember him. Same is to be said for Brett Favre in Minnesota or New York. What makes hip hop so compelling is that it is the closest to a sport that you can have in music. So much is predicated on what an individual can do with words and the breeds a competitiveness that no other genre has. In saying that every rapper lyrically just doesn’t have it anymore, and as of 2015 Lil’ Wayne is on his last leg.

Personally, I have always felt that Lil’ Wayne has been overrated but I also have felt the same about LeBron James. At neither point did I diminish the fact they are very talented individuals and are the upper echelon in what they do. But listening to Lil Wayne seems like punishment opposed to enjoyment. The Carter III was the peak of this man’s popularity and artistic value. That was in 2008. The Carter III had sold a million in a week which was and is unheard of in this current rap climate. He was nominated for album of the year in the Grammy’s, while winning best rap album that same year. Clearly he was on top whether you loved it or not.

Now this isn’t the first editorial piece written about how Lil’ Wayne has fallen off, there are countless articles and threads about it, is almost like this taboo subject that everyone speaks about privately but not publicly. It could be due to that Wayne has positioned himself with a lot of powerful people in hip hop so saying how he has ‘lost it’ could result in not getting on that new DJ Khaled record that is inexplicably going to get way too much rotation at radio. Maybe he is just more likeable too. When Jay-Z started creeping up there in age, bloggers and rappers left and right were coming out saying how done he was and that he needs to give the new guys shine. What I think can be learned here is that it’s not about your age in hip hop but more so mileage.
Sample size is everything. Lil’ Wayne raps…like a lot. While he is only 32 look at how many mixtapes, albums, and features this man has been on.
. Studio Albums
• Tha Block Is Hot (1999)
• Lights Out (2000)
• 500 Degreez (2002)
• Tha Carter (2004)
• Tha Carter II (2005)
• Tha Carter III (2008)
• Rebirth (2010)
• I Am Not a Human Being (2010)
• Tha Carter IV (2011)
• I Am Not a Human Being II (2013)
• Tha Carter V (2015)
• Free Weezy Album (2015)

That does not include the Drought, Squad Up, and Dedication series. The Sorry for the Wait tapes or any other one offs such as No Ceilings. Not to mention the endless guest verses he has put on a remix or just one of his artist projects. Even his most diehard fans will tell you that he isn’t the same. Now the point of drop off goes anywhere from his stint in Riker’s Island to the Dedication 3 up towards the extreme idea he never was that damn good. Wayne’s domination came when rap arguably was at its weakest overall in that 2006-2009 era. Could it be that with the emergence of more versatile and talented artists such as a Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole and his own protégée Drake that he is being exposed possibly?

There is only so many times that you can tell us what the “F” in Weezy F. Baby stands for. Your uncanny lust for giving a redbone oral pleasures while flicking a lighter signalling you are about to, how do you say ? ‘Go in’. Lil Wayne will go down as one of the best, where you rank him is always on you but he will get at least an honourable mention by most from this generation. He has always flirted with this notion of retirement and I hope it comes sooner than later. Nostalgia usually works in most people’s favour but it is getting to the point that the bad is becoming as memorable as the good with Lil Wayne. We remember Jordan hitting the buzzer beater against Utah game 6, that is how I’m trying to remember this man’s catalogue but it I think we are getting a clearer picture of why the Carter V maybe being kept in Birdman’s bushes.
