Other rappers that have visited the show include Nas, Lupe Fiasco and Black Star.
Fans are patiently awaiting the TDE golden child’s sophomore album, which had a fake tracklist floating around the internet earlier this week. Though the album does not have a release date yet, Kendrick was still able to snag two 2015 Grammy noms for his single “i” for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
This year has been an eventful one for Iggy Azalea. She’s been slammed by K.Michelle and Rah Digga for making what is not considered “real hip-hop” or making a mockery of it. Tyler the Creator even threw some jabs her way while she and Snoop Dogg also went at it over social media only for her mentor T.I to come to her defense and squash the whole thing. Now, there are claims that the Aussie spitter was born a man.
It’s reported that a site named Huzlers tried to break the internet with the rumor, saying that Nick Young’s bae was born a man named Cody. Iggy isn’t one to back down though. She quickly took to Twitter, not to bash whoever started the rumor, but to suggest that they pick a better name than Cody.
In the midst of the drama, the “Black Widow” rapper has had an awesome year. She has racked up four Grammy nominations, won two American Music Awards and is a Billboard Women In Music honoree.
The personification of his “10 Trap Commandments,” Brooklyn’s own RRose RRome is ready. Take This Serious the début mixtape signifies a success story. Canarsie, BK the antithesis of Mayberry, USA raised RRome. Here it is normal for dreams to be permanently deterred. This under-resourced environment easily fosters atrophied encouragement; the devil whispers doubt.
Nothing will detour Rizzo. Canarsie’s Varsity promises, “I definitely have a genuine love for Hip-Hop. It’s a culture. I grew up in it; I live it. I’m big on my word.” This exclusive interview depicts a hard-working artist who is striving to become celebrated by Time.
Hip-Hop signifies different things to different people; what about the culture first compelled a respect and an attention that eventually motivated you to transition from being in the crowd to being a creator?
The art of emceeing is painting pictures. I’m creative; I like to tell stories. I like to tell who I am and to explain myself. I feel like it’s just a way to way to express myself. Since everyone’s story is different I feel like no one has heard my story yet—no one has lived my life—I’m just here to bring people into what I’ve seen, what I think and what I feel. So, that’s the major part of me being an MC. Hearing other people’s stories and wanting to tell mine that was the time that I wanted to say, “You know what, my story is real. Let me explain myself through these studios and these booths.”
Being from Brooklyn, NY, you may face unique challenges given Brooklyn’s legacy of legendary MCs. Thus far, how has your organic creativity and determined work-ethic helped to earn support from you borough and helped to distinguish yourself from other emerging artists?
For starters, that people who were idolized and looked at in a high light have co-signed it already. I’ve spoken to AZ I actually work with his cousin. Jinx, he shoots my videos. He’s heard my stuff and has agreed to work—we haven’t got there yet. Fame from M.O.P. is my dude. I hang out with him all the time. We eat fish sandwiches and pop bottles together. And actually he’s in my video, too.
Are you respected because of your creativity or because of your budget?
Both, it’s because of who I am. No budget, not money, it’s definitely because of respect. It’s a respect thing; I’m official. Let’s get back to that part, the genuine official part, that’s me. The forefathers respect it and accept it. Other than that my work is good. My story wasn’t told yet. When people hear it they’re intrigued by it. It’s different; my music stands out as well. Some people have the look but don’t have the music—I have a lot of both. My delivery—I can do hard sh*t, radio sh*t, conscious sh*t—there’s no ceiling to my music. I don’t write…
If the pen is mightier than the sword, Hip-Hop, offers a unique opportunity to America’s black man. It may be used as a legitimate resource to rebel against institutionalized racism. Is your voice as an MC truly telling the story of the man behind the moniker; or, is it a mere caricature of a shallow rapper?
I’m telling my story. I’m giving you my every day. For instance, with the “You Ain’t A Killer,” I saw a couple of MCs that weren’t really the people that they say they are. But it’s a little bit of both. I have my ratchet moments where I’m talking about popping bottles, dealing with women in a scandalous kind of way, and I have conscious joints as well. It varies; I’m not one dimensional. We all have those low moments and those high moments. I speak for the man that lives a regular life.
Take This Serious, boasts features from Sheek Looch, Stylez P, and Uncle Murda. Going from concept to creation, what bottom-line-truth were you working to amplify?
This is my first project that I’ve put out. It’s a body of work that took me maybe two or three years to create. I waited, because I wanted to put out something that was meaningful. I feel like it was that’s why I named it Take This Serious. I wanted the game to take me serious. This is my first project. I want this to be impressionable. So, I reached out to GQ Beats.
He’s a humble producer that I f*ck with. He has relationships with different artists… It was dope for me. Not a lot of people can say that they had such huge features on their first project. So, that meant a lot to me. I’m still pushing. I’m still striving. I’m a perfectionist. I wanted to make sure that everything was sonically correct. It took work… Coming into it I didn’t think the creative process would be so long. It worked out; it was fun.
Do you have people around you that you trust with your creativity?
Definitely, Dayzel, he’s actually the engineer for The L.O.X. right now. He’s done production for them as well. I’ve got a huge team around me. I know it’s a go when Dayzel, Buck 3000, and Phat Gary okay it. We’re all working together to make sure RRose RRome gets where he needs to be. I want the world and everything in it. I’m working hard to put my foot in the game and make my impression felt.
Until the next time what would you like to share?
I’m a force to be reckoned with. I’m working hard. It’s my time to shine and to be recognized and looked at. Keep your eyes open and your ears open. I’m coming and I’m at the top tier of next Brooklyn dudes and top [artists] coming out of the Tri-State right now.
Besides being an impressive singer and delivering fancy footwork, Chris Brown also gets busy on an art canvas.
While at Hot 97 in New York City, Breezy pulled out his spray cans and created a wacky looking piece while talking about how he discovered his love for art.
“I’ve been painting and messing up school property since I was about seven or eight,” the “Loyal” singer laughed. “I used to go and paint shades or school buses and have fun with a lot of different stuff but a lot of it came from me making t-shirts. I used to make t-shirts and design on fabric and clothes. I would sell it or I would get someone to do my homework for the t-shirt.”
Watch Chris put his finishing touches on his masterpiece while talking about his favorite artists, whose work he admires and more below.

Supermodel Beverly Johnson, the first African-American model to cover Vogue, is the latest woman to come forward in the Bill Cosby scandal. Johnson wrote a detailed account of for Vanity Fair where she revealed that Cosby drugged her while she auditioned for a guest role on the Cosby Show during the mid-80s. She is the second high-profile woman to accuse of Cosby of drugging her; supermodel Janice Dickinson was the first.
Johnson says that after visiting a taping to get the gist of the show, she met with Cosby and had a heart-to-heart not only about what she wanted from her career but also about her failed marriage and the ongoing nasty custody battle for her only child.
“He appeared concerned and then asked what I wanted from my career going forward,” Johnson wrote. “He seemed genuinely interested in guiding me to the next level. I was on cloud nine.”
She says she then brought her daughter to the next taping of the Cosby Show, where the TV dad invited she and her child to his New York brownstone. Looking back, Johnson says she felt like the visit was a set up for what was to come next. She wrote that it was “a way to make me feel secure with him at all times” and that it “worked like a charm.”
Johnson says that Cosby then invited her back to his home a few days later to audition for the part, only for Cosby to attempt to take advantage of her. Read more of her vivid account below.
Cosby suggested I come back to his house a few days later to read for the part. I agreed, and one late afternoon the following week I returned. His staff served a light dinner and Bill and I talked more about my plans for the future.
After the meal, we walked upstairs to a huge living area of his home that featured a massive bar. A huge brass espresso contraption took up half the counter. At the time, it seemed rare for someone to have such a machine in his home for personal use.
Cosby said he wanted to see how I handled various scenes, so he suggested that I pretend to be drunk. (When did a pregnant woman ever appear drunk on The Cosby Show? Probably never, but I went with it.)
As I readied myself to be the best drunk I could be, he offered me a cappuccino from the espresso machine. I told him I didn’t drink coffee that late in the afternoon because it made getting to sleep at night more difficult. He wouldn’t let it go. He insisted that his espresso machine was the best model on the market and promised I’d never tasted a cappuccino quite like this one.
It’s nuts, I know, but it felt oddly inappropriate arguing with Bill Cosby so I took a few sips of the coffee just to appease him.
Now let me explain this: I was a top model during the 70s, a period when drugs flowed at parties and photo shoots like bottled water at a health spa. I’d had my fun and experimented with my fair share of mood enhancers. I knew by the second sip of the drink Cosby had given me that I’d been drugged—and drugged good.
My head became woozy, my speech became slurred, and the room began to spin nonstop. Cosby motioned for me to come over to him as though we were really about to act out the scene. He put his hands around my waist, and I managed to put my hand on his shoulder in order to steady myself.
As I felt my body go completely limp, my brain switched into automatic-survival mode. That meant making sure Cosby understood that I knew exactly what was happening at that very moment.
“You are a m########### aren’t you?”
That’s the exact question I yelled at him as he stood there holding me, expecting me to bend to his will.

(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent is known to have a very competitive nature. Especially when it comes to other Hip Hop moguls like Jay Z. While Jay has managed to find success in almost every business avenue he has attempted, 50 thinks his run at boxing promotion may not be a win for the Roc Nation Sports founder.

“I think they gonna clean Jay up,” 50 told BET. “The sport of boxing is going to clean him up and he’s going to find out it’s not like any other portion of business that he’s been involved in.”
It was revealed this summer that Roc Nation obtained a boxing license. The promotion’s first card, “Throne Boxing,” is scheduled for January 9 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. The event features Dusty Hernandez-Harrison (24-0, 13 KOs) taking on Tommy Rainone (22-5-1, 4 KOs).
Even though the management wing of Roc Nation has attracted high profile music artists and athletes like Kanye West, J. Cole, Rihanna, Kevin Durant, Robinson Cano, and CC Sabathia to its roster, 50 does not see the company’s move into prize fighting being as easy.
“You can’t just buy your way into it by purchasing existing companies and stuff like that,” added the SMS Boxing Promotions head. “You look at the roster of fighters…you have to have experienced people around to run it. But boxing is like the fur coat business…we don’t know how much they actually sold the jacket for.”

(AllHipHop News) J. Cole laid low for the most part during the lead up to his latest album release. The Fayetteville native is now in full promo mode for his critically acclaimed third studio album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Cole spoke with Power 105’s Angie Martinez about the project and other subjects related to the Roc Nation rapper.
[ALSO READ: J. Cole’s “2014 Forest Hills Drive” On Pace For Best Hip Hop Sales Week Of 2014]
One of the matters brought up during the Q&A was Cole’s willingness to speak out on relevant social issues like the police killings of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. The “Be Free” performer admitted he was reluctant to touch divisive topics early in his career.
“For the past four or five years of my career, I’ve always been very politically correct… I’m a nice guy. I don’t want to offend nobody,” said Cole. “But at the end of the day, I realized I’m doing myself a disservice and I’m doing people a disservice. If I’m speaking my mind and saying how I truly feel, I might say one thing that connects the dots for somebody that might have been the right connection that was needed to do something to change the world.”
Later in the interview, Cole was asked what changes he would like to see happen in society. His response included a reflection on America’s capitalistic economic system.
“It’s an ‘every man for himself mentality.’ It’s a ‘I gotta be on top. For me to be on top, I gotta have a bottom,'” added Cole. “I don’t know the alternative. I don’t even know if it exists. I don’t think we’ve evolved to something that exists yet, but capitalism is just paid slavery. It’s the same set-up as slavery. The only difference was slaves weren’t getting paid, but it’s the same set-up. I own this plantation. You are at the bottom. I got some managers right here that oversee the field.”
According to Cole, that system does not work anymore. In his opinion, it is a selfish way of thinking that does not benefit the majority of the people. Cole also took issue with the entertainment business, the media, and other industries for putting profits over the well-being of the population.
Cole also made it clear his much talked about song “Fire Squad” was not a “diss” to Eminem or any of the other artists named on the track. The lyrics mentioning Em, Macklemore, Justin Timberlake, and Iggy Azalea’s adoption of “Black music” were seen as controversial by some observers, but for Cole it was just an artistic examination of the shift taking place in Hip Hop.
“That has nothing to do with dissing Eminem or any of those people,” explained Cole. “That part of the verse is an observation – me just making an observation of culture right now.”

(AllHipHop News) Back in August, Rich Homie Quan got caught up in gay rumors when his frequent collaborator Young Thug called Quan his “hubby.” RHQ stopped by Sway In The Morning to talk about a host of topics including the speculation he and Thug are more than just friends.

“First and foremost, I try not to get into all the comments, cause it be so many. But at the same time, I see them. But if I respond back to that, that’s what they want me to do,” said Quan. “Everyone in Atlanta knows, me nor Young Thug is not gay. With Thug it’s different. It’s just his slang. I don’t take nothing of it. I know I ain’t gay. Everybody knows I ain’t gay.”
While Rich Homie declared he is a straight man, Thug sparked even more rumors about his sexuality. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Thugger talked about his time in juvenile detention. He told the publication all he did while in the facility was “gamble, smoke and f**k” which led some people to question who exactly was Thug sleeping with during his stay in juvenile.
“No windows or nothing, like a real jail. Lot of punishment. I didn’t do s**t there but gamble, smoke and f**k,” said Thug.
Both Thug and Quan have close ties to the Cash Money camp. The two Atlanta rappers released a mixtape with CMB’s Birdman under the name Rich Gang. Despite all the current turmoil happening at the label with artists like Lil Wayne and Tyga, RHQ is still interested in making the business partnership with Cash Money official.
“I still would [sign to Cash Money] cause the relationship they have with Bird, that’s not the relationship I have,” explained Quan. “I don’t know their situation – and I try not to get into their situation – I just try and do what’s best for me. If that situation is right for Quan, of course I’m gonna take it if it makes sense.”

(AllHipHop News) Earlier this year, James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond’s murder trial ended with a hung jury, but this week another jury was able to return a verdict in the same case. According to Don Diva, Rosemond was found guilty on all charges for the murder of Lowell “Lodi Mack” Fletcher.

“Enough said. Nothing to talk about,” stated Rosemond after the jury’s decision was announced.
The former artist manager and convicted drug dealer was on trial for setting up the killing of Fletcher. Authorities believed that Rosemond had Fletcher murdered as part of an ongoing street feud with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit crew.
The hit was allegedly ordered as retaliation against G-Unit member Tony Yayo slapping Rosemond’s son. 50 addressed the Yayo incident on the song “Hold On“. That led to James Rosemond Jr. responding in a statement issued to AllHipHop.com.
“The incident in 2007 was a bad situation I didn’t deserve, and seven years later it’s now being made fun of in a record?” wrote Rosemond Jr. “What real gangster condones grown men assaulting a minor or a young man who has no involvement in the beef? Plus, these guys have kids of their own, and they should know better!”
The elder Rosemond is already serving a life sentence for drug trafficking and weapons possession convictions from 2013.

What the hell? This is crazy. Nicki is supposed to be dating meeeeeeeeee….
But, I have no money, never been to jail, from a smaller town and basically have no clout. So, there are new rumors that suggest that Nick and Meek are now any item. I pray its not due to this new song they have.
Source: Baller Alert
Peep:
Many people are shocked to hear
the news of Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj dating. What they may not know is that this union has been long in the works and involves lots of drama including Safaree cheating, Nicki’s new album and K. Michelle interfering. Random, I know, but what’s some good tea without the unexpected? There is a LOT going on so read the ENTIRE thing and be prepared to take in about a gallon of tea.
At the beginning of the year, Nicki and longtime boyfriend Safaree had been going through some issues, mainly having to do with Safaree constantly cheating. Nicki kicked Safaree out of their home and he had been sleeping couch to couch with friends hoping Nicki took him back. Guess who was a shoulder for Nicki to cry on during these hard times? That’s right, Meek Mill. Safaree heard about Meek and it was only a matter of time before a feud started. Safaree took several subliminal shots at Meek, one in the form of a video he dropped in January titled “All We Do Is Stunt V”. The premise of the video was Safaree and his biker crew rolling up on a guy and robbing him. The car the guy is driving happens to be a car similar to one Meek owns. The use of the bikes is also telling, considering Meek is a biker himself. Many people would never put 2 and 2 together but those involved know who it was geared towards. On “All We Do Is Stunt VI” Safaree also talks about a girl having “million dollar pu**y” but coming from a messed up environment. The video itself is kind of pointless and was only made with the intent of Meek seeing it. I’m not sure if he ever did.
Now let’s fast forward to a few months later, in April. Between January and April, SB and Nicki had reportedly got back together and broke up yet again. It was highly publicized because SB and Nicki both posted it on Instagram. SB even posted on social media that he would be taking a hiatus from the internet
— and he did. All the while, who was still there to console Nicki? Yep, Meek Mill. He also made a meme about it. Of course, yet again, no one caught it.
Oh, but it gets better. Again, Nicki and SB get back together. They’re good for a few months and yet again they break up. Now, let’s pause on Nicki and SB and talk about Meek Mill. Meek is working on his new album and he has a song titled “Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart”. That name sound familiar? Well, it’s the name of K. Michelle’s album. You may recall K. Michelle and Meek were spending a lot of time together. K. Michelle was crushing on him, which she admitted herself on The Breakfast Club, and on her last visit to the station she said that Meek let her hear “Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart” and she liked it so much she used the song, figuring he wasn’t going to use it. She was right, Meek had no use for it, but here is where things get messy. Meek didn’t give K. Michelle the track. The two share the same A&R and the A&R gave K. Michelle the track. Sound familiar to the reason K. Michelle was mad at Elle Varner? It should, because it’s the same thing. Let it also be noted that part of K. Michelle’s beef with Elle had to do with Meek Mill as well. We need a groupie tale on Meek, I have to know what he’s working with to have all these girls after him this way.
Anyway, Meek basically snatches the “AWBAH” track back and while in the studio listening to tracks with Nicki, Nicki says she likes it and he gives it to her instead. “Buy A Heart” featuring Meek Mill can be heard on Nicki’s new “The Pink Print” album as a bonus track. You know who won’t be found on The Pink Print? SB as Executive Producer. Nicki completely snatched his title away from him and he is nowhere to be found in the album credits. If you are a Nicki fan, you know he executive produced ALL of her albums
. Let us also not forget Nicki’s single “Only” featuring Lil Wayne, Drake and Chris Brown where they basically take shots at Safaree for 4 minutes and he pretends like he’s not hurt about it. He even promoted the song on Twitter and tweeted how he heard Lil Wayne’s verse about him not “hitting it right” and how Drake still wanted to smash even though she had a man.
So let’s review, Meek Mill has been consoling Nicki as she went through her roller coaster of a relationship with Safaree. Meek Mill had a song K. Michelle liked, used, and then he kind of snatched it back and gave it to Nicki so she could use it as a bonus track on her album that drops Monday. Got it? Well, there’s more…
K. Michelle’s “Anybody Wanna Buy A heart” album dropped this pastTuesday. Do you know what else dropped? Nicki’s new song
with Meek Mill titled “Big Daddy”. At this point K. Michelle took Nicki releasing the song as subliminal a shot towards her and ends up allegedly leaking to blogs that Meek and Nicki are an item. Messy Messy. K!
So now the secret is out. Yes, Nicki and Meek are whatever they are and he even bought her a very expensive piece of jewelry for her birthday. As far as SB, he recently followed both K. Michelle and Iggy Azalea on Instagram but likely unfollowed when he realized Nicki didn’t really care.
I wonder if Nicki taking “Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart” inspired K. Michelle to write “Drake Would Love Me”…all one big mess!
UPDATE: Wanted to add a little something for clarity reasons. The bracelet above was purchased by Meek Mill from his jeweler Shyne Jewelers. Similar pieces can be found on Shyne Jeweler’s site. The whole Pauly D thing, I’m assuming he was joking, which is why we never posted about it. Also want to add to the tea that Nicki Minaj was Meek Mill’s only female visitor while he was incarcerated and remember back in 2011 when Safaree and Nicki got matching red Bentleys? Well, Nicki took Safaree’s back. Lastly, when K. Michelle heard Nicki Minaj leaked “Big Daddy” on the day her album
dropped, K. retaliated by leaking her version of “Buy A Heart”. To listen to “Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart” featuring Meek Mill, CLICK HERE. The song
does not appear on K Michelle’s album (as stated above.)
