Details Emerge About Dame Dash's Multi-Million Dollar Lawsuit Against Director Lee Daniels

(AllHipHop News) Dame Dash filed a lawsuit in New York Superior Court against famed director Lee Daniels (The Butler, Precious). According to Billboard, Dash is arguing he deserves credits, ownership, and millions of dollars in compensation for giving Daniels $2 million to produce the film The Woodsman.

[ALSO READ: Dame Dash Sues Lee Daniels For $25 Million]

Dash claims he received a written agreement that gave him executive producer credits, 50 percent of rights on the movie, and a promise Daniels would repay him with interest. He also alleges the filmmaker asked to shift the repayment of the $2 million to an investment in his Shadowboxer project.

The complaint reads:

In exchange for keeping quiet about being owed money, to avoid bad press in light of Lee’s upcoming projects, and foregoing prompt payment on the personal guaranty, Lee, and Lee Daniels Entertainment, promised Damon, both o#####, and in writing, that Damon would be given a producer credit and partial ownership rights to any and all of Lee’s projects — i.e., current and future TV shows and/or films — until Lee paid Damon back the $2,000,000.00 plus interest that Damon had originally invested with Lee.

Dash believes this entitles him to credits and compensation for Daniels’ other films Precious, The Paperboy, and The Butler and the upcoming TV show Empire.

Daniel’s attorneys responded by saying, “Regrettably, it’s easy to make allegations. Proving the allegations is a different story, and the precise reason why the judicial system exists. Mr. Daniels looks forward to the Court’s scrutiny of the merits of Mr. Dash’s misguided claims.”

The producer brought in $620 million over the last year. Jay and Diddy tied for #2 with $60 million hauls respectively. Drake jumps to the #4 slot with $33 million, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis round out the top five with $32 million.

Forbes describes the methodology for calculating their list as follows:

The Hip-Hop Cash Kings list tracks pretax earnings for living artists whose work is primarily classified as hip-hop or rap. To form the list, we considered income from touring, record sales, publishing, merchandise sales, endorsements and other ventures. Management, agent and attorney fees are not deducted. Earnings are calculated from June 2013 to June 2014 and based on data from Pollstar, the RIAA and Nielsen SoundScan, and from interviews with numerous managers, lawyers, music executives and some of the artists themselves.

Slowbucks Posts Another Pic With 50 Cent's Son Marquise Jackson

(AllHipHop News) The feud between 50 Cent and Slowbucks began partly because Bucks posted a picture of himself with 50’s son Marquise Jackson and 50’s rival Trav.

That action eventually led to Slowbucks’ chain being snatched on stage at Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert, and disses on tracks and social media being thrown back and forth.

K. Michelle & Soulja Boy Blast Each Other (PHOTOS)

(AllHipHop News) Reality TV stars are known to go at it on screen, but two alumni of the Love and Hip Hop franchise battled on Twitter. Rapper Soulja Boy and singer K. Michelle threw shots at each other overnight on the social media site.

The issues between the two began when Soulja Boy alledgedly said he slept with Michelle. She then went on The Breakfast Club radio program and denied the allegation that she had sex with the “Crank That” performer.

“Let me tell you something, Soulja Boy – cause I know you’re gonna hear this – What you’re not gonna do is lie on my hot pocket. When I do something, I say I did it and that’s what it is. So that giggling,” Michelle said. “We don’t want to giggle about that transgender in Atlanta. Giggle, giggle, now crank that.”

This led to a series of hostile posts from SB, and Michelle responded back in kind.
