Hip Hop Rumors: Future's Checks To Be Garnished

Future may have more to worry about besides Ciara no longer flossing her engagement ring. According to theJasmineBRAND.com, your favorite crooner is gonna have to give up more paper for child support every month.

“The 30-year-old rapper and his baby mama Jessica Smith – who share a 10-year-old son – came to a child support agreement in January 2013. The deal had the rapper paying $1,662 a month in support based on him claiming his monthly income was only $16,516.
Then in March 2013, Jessica submitted a child support modification suit, claiming he lied about his monthly income and believed he made more than 50k a month. She demanded an increase in support.

theJasmineBRAND.com has learned that Future and the mother of his child came to an agreement last month. Due to the rappers income increase in monthly income from 16k to 50k, his support was increased to $2,800 a month.
The support payment will be taken directly from his music checks and given to his baby mama. He was also ordered to pay $3,952 in past due child support.”

Future has a total of four little ones, but considering some of the things he spends on, $2,800 shouldn’t be much to a boss right?

Hip-Hop Rumors: Guess Who's Been Added To The Love and Hip-Hop LA Cast?

If anyone cares, looks like Love and Hip-Hop L.A. decided to turn things up a notch and add a big name rapper, and who better than Soulja Boy himself.

Via TMZ:

“Soulja Boy’s getting a heavy dose of reality … TMZ has learned the “Crank That” rapper’s just been added to the cast of “Love & Hip Hop: L.A” — in a last-ditch effort to pump some life into the show.

Sources close to production tell us … the show’s been struggling with weak story lines and uninteresting characters … and producers felt they needed to add a big name rapper to liven things up.

Right now … Ray J is the biggest star on “L&HHLA” … and producers think he and Soulja Boy will be a huge hit together. Sources close to Ray J say he’s pumped about his new co-star.

If it’s drama they want … the sizzurp-slurpin’ Soulja should bring plenty of it.”

Man Pleads Not Guilty After Biting Off Man's Fingertip At Jay Z/Beyonce Concert

(AllHipHop News) Biting in Hip Hop is never good but this is ridiculous. Roberto Garnicia, 25 year old man who allegedly bit off the fingertip of another man at Jay Z and Beyonce’s concert this past Saturday (August 2nd) has pled not guilty to his charges.

Garnicia was charged with mayhem, battery and battery with serious bodily injury after engaging in a physical altercation with an unidentified man. According to reports, Garnicia has pled not guilty to the charges and faces up to eight years in prison if convicted.

Garnicia allegedly groped a woman during Jay Z and Beyonce’s “On The Run Tour” stop at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl, which incited a fight between him and the woman’s boyfriend.

Michael Jackson Facing New Sexual Abuse Accusations

(AllHipHop News) Iconic performer Michael Jackson passed away five years ago, but even in death the King of Pop cannot avoid new allegations of sexual abuse. Court papers have been filed against Jackson suggesting the singer engaged in improper activities with a minor back in the 1980’s.

James Safechuck claims Jackson abused him over 100 times during a four year period starting when he was ten years old. They apparently met filming a Pepsi commercial, and according to Safechuck, the two slept in the same hotel beds during Jackson’s “Bad Tour” in 1988.

In court documents, the now 36-year-old man states Jackson “engaged in a calculated course of conduct to lure both [Safechuck] and his parents into a false sense of security and normalcy.”

The docs also say:

[Jackson] was successful in his efforts to the point that [Safechuck] endured repeated acts of sexual abuse of a heinous nature and was brainwashed by the decedent into believing they were acts of love and instigated by James himself rather than the decedent.

The Jackson estate is asking the lawsuit be dismissed. Attorney Howard Weitzman told E!, “This is a person that made his claim five years after Michael died, more than 20 years after the incidents supposedly happened and has given sworn testimony that Michael never did anything inappropriate to him.”

Michael Jackson had been accused on child sexual abuse in the past. He was acquitted of sex abuse charges in 2005. A hearing for Safechuck’s petition has been scheduled for September 4th.

Jackson died in 2009. His posthumous album Xscape was released earlier this year.

“I’m a very hands-on person when it comes to my work,” Dupri told Billboard. “I put my all into every project. But when I’m not allowed to do what I do, then I know it’s time for me to move on. Mariah and I enjoy working together and will continue to make great music together in the future.”

Dupri also served as the executive producer for Carey’s latest album Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse. The project underperformed commercially, only selling 58,000 copies in its opening week. That was the lowest first week total for a studio album in the singer’s career.

Carey is now reportedly working with music business veteran Kevin Liles. The former Def Jam executive recently teamed with Lyor Cohen and Todd Moscowitz to create the new label 300.

Kanye West Calls For Celebrity Civil Rights Movement Against Paparazzi

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West’s notorious ego was front and center during his deposition for a civil case involving an alleged attack against a paparazzo. TMZ reportedly got hold of the transcript from the hearing, and Ye did not hold back against the accuser’s lawyer.

“I’m the smartest celebrity you’ve ever f***ing dealt with. I’m not Britney Spears,” said West.

Kanye also chastised attorney Nate Goldberg for “representing scum” for profit and for using the word “n***a” when quoting some of the Chicago native’s lyrics from the song “Flashing Lights.”

“You have to ask for a hall pass. You can’t just say the ‘n-word’ around me,” Kanye told Goldberg. “It offends me because you’re a white person saying n***a.”

The deposition also included Ye making comparisons between the 1960’s civil rights movement and modern-day celebrities fighting for privacy rights against invasive photographers.

“I mean in the ’60s people used to hold up ‘Die N****r’ signs when my parents were in the sit-ins also,” Kanye stated. “We, as group of minorities here in L.A., as celebrities have to ban together to influence guys like this — guys trying to take the picture, guys trying to get the big win, guys trying to get the check.”

West is facing a civil lawsuit filed by Daniel Ramos. The photog is suing Kanye for a July 2013 incident where the Yeezus creator smashed Ramos’ camera and allegedly assaulted him at LAX airport.

West agreed to a plea deal in a criminal case and was sentenced to two years probation.

Freddie Gibbs Says Young Jeezy Lied About Financing His Career (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Jeezy has been making his rounds to different media outlets to promote his upcoming album Seen It All. During the promo run, the CTE general was asked about his relationship with former protégé Freddie Gibbs. One of those media stops including a sit down with Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning where Jeezy explained how he spent money to finance Gibb’s career.

[ALSO READ: Jeezy Speaks On Issues With Freddie Gibbs]

According to the Snowman, he paid for a Gibbs music video that was never released, airplane flights, and other expenses. Jeezy told Ebro his business dealings with the Gary, Indiana rapper left him $300,000-400,000 in the hole.

The following day, Gibbs went to Hot 97 as well to address Jeezy’s statements. He presented his side of why the deal between the two did not work out. After first stating he respects Jeezy, Gibbs said the two rappers just had different approaches to the industry.

After parting ways with CTE, Gibbs released diss tracks aimed at his former boss. He claimed it was Jeezy’s untruthful accounts about their business relationship shared amongst mutual friends that sparked those songs.

“The reason why I lashed out the way I did with the records and the words that I said is truly because of what was said yesterday,” explained Gibbs. “He made it seem like he saved some little, poor Gary boy to the rap game, but that definitely isn’t the case. Before I got with Young Jeezy, I was on the cover of XXL. Before I got with Young Jeezy, I was on tours. Before I got with him, I was making money. I didn’t take a dollar from Young Jeezy. That 300K/400K thing, that’s a total lie.”

Gibbs also added that he did not receive an advance from Jeezy, and he only shot one video during his time with CTE which was discarded because he did not like the final product. He said that was the only financial loss Jeezy suffered as it relates to his career.

Another point Gibbs had issue with was Jeezy saying they saw each other in a L.A. club and Jeezy requested for Gibbs to come and speak with him, but Gibbs refused.

“That’s totally untrue. Another lie in the Jeezy movie. He got an album coming out. I expect him to do these type of things,” said Gibbs. “He just seen me the day before yesterday.”

N.J. Supreme Court Rules Rap Lyrics Cannot Be Used As Evidence In Case

(AllHipHop News) There have been several legal battles in recent years over whether a rapper’s lyrics can be used as evidence of guilt in a criminal trial. The New Jersey Supreme Court has come down on the side of free speech and artistic expression in one case.

[ALSO READ: Bun B Talks Rap Lyrics Being Used As Evidence On MSNBC (VIDEO)]

NJ.com reports the Court ruled 6-0 that Vonte Skinner’s attempted murder conviction be overturned, because the prosecution decision to read some of Skinner’s rap lyrics to the jury was “highly prejudicial” and “bore little or no probative value.”

Justice Jaynee LaVecchia wrote:

One would not presume that Bob Marley, who wrote the well-known song “I Shot the Sheriff,” actually shot a sheriff, or that Edgar Allan Poe buried a man beneath his floorboards, as depicted in his short story “The Tell-Tale Heart,” simply because of their respective artistic endeavors on those subjects. The Court reasons that defendant’s lyrics should receive no different treatment.

Skinner was convicted in 2008 of shooting and paralyzing accused drug dealer Lamont Peterson. Police found pages of rap lyrics depicting murder and rapes in a vehicle Skinner was driving after the shooting in 2005. Those lyrics, along with Peterson’s testimony, were used as proof that Skinner was guilty.

Prosecutors read some of the raps to the jury, but neglected to inform them many of the rhymes were written prior to Peterson being shot. A state deputy attorney general argued to the Court the raps showed Skinner’s “continuing mindset.”

The NJ Supreme Court disagreed stating that lyrics can only be used as evidence if the words connect to the particular crime the defendant is being tried for. The Court felt that did not apply to Skinner’s situation and ordered the defendant be given a new trial.

Previously, the Nevada Supreme Court ruled against rapper Deyundrea “Khali” Holmes who was convicted homicide and robbery. Holmes’ song “Drug Deala” was presented as evidence of guilt in that case. His conviction was upheld in a 2-1 decision by the Nevada court.

“It is one thing to exclude defendant-authored fictional accounts, be they rap lyrics or some other form of artistic expression, when offered to show a propensity for violence,” wrote NSC Chief Justice Kristina Pickering. “It is quite another when the defendant-authored writing incorporates details of the crime charged.”

Jay Z Says "Build More Schools, Less Prisons", Supports California Bill (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Jay Z is the furthest thing from a politician, but always keeps it real. During his  performance at Rose Bowl arena  in Pasadena, California he professed his support for California bill Proposition 47.

Proposition 47, also known as The “Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Initiative”, is a California bill which would reclassify the severity of certain crimes and thus reduce prisoners’ sentences. According to supporters, California could save over $1 billion in five years with the reduced sentencing and prison population.

Dream Hampton, co-writer of Jay Z’s Decoded book posted a video on her personal Instagram account of Jay Z supporting the bill at the Rose Bowl stop during the “On The Run” tour. In the caption she :

Many of you know that I’ve joined with #VoteYeson47 and @mrmikedelarocha push through a California ballot initiative, Prop 47, that will change petty, nonviolent crimes from felonies to misdemeanors and reallocate prison spending to prevention and schools. Thousands of poor people will no longer have felony convictions for petty crimes. Tonight, after many recent conversations about mass incarceration, Jay Z stood with us, from the Rose Bowl stage.

California currently imprisons over 140,000 inmates, with roughly 28% suffering from mental illnesses. Under Prop 47 $150 million to $250 million will be allocated to mental health programs.

The proposition is slated to be voted on in November.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Will Remy Ma Have To Pay Her Shooting Victim Forever?

As soon as I heard Remy had rapped about her shooting, I knew there were going to be problems. But, I am hearing those issues were already there and THAT is why Remy rapped about them. In the DJ Khaled remix to “They Don’t Love You No More,” she said “‘Give it to her in the tummy/ya’ll know that I keep it tough….” OUCH. Remy is a mean hombre for real! Remember the woman she shot, caught it in the belly. I’m like “WOW.” Anyway, her former friend and eventual shooting victim Makeda Barnes-Joseph STILL must use a colostomy bag to use the bathroom out of. Well, sources that hit me up basically said that Remy’s victim will get all or or a LOT of Remy’s earnings based on her injuries. To be real, I am not sure how that works, considering I don’t believe there has been any civil suit yet. I do believe there will be though and that is based on insiders that I have talked to. I wonder how this will play out!

Vanilla Ice: I Don't Like Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign and Juicy J Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Song

(AllHipHop News) In the really early 1990s, few rappers had a better understanding of fake ninjas than Vanilla Ice. In a recent interview with GQ, the “Ice Ice Baby” rapper explains his distaste for Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J and Ty Dolla $ign’s song for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie.

The collaborative song between the three artists, entitled “Shellshocked” was released back in late July. Vanilla Ice contributed “Go Ninja Go (Ninja Rap)” for the 1991 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II film. During the interview, Ice believes the problem with “Shellshocked” is the artists’ lack of authentic connection to the series and corporate influence:

It feels a little artificial — what I mean by that is that it sounds like a bunch of executives in the corporate world put it together. It really does not fit the theme of the Ninja Turtles legend. I think you have to understand, and be a true ninja, to possess the magic to really pull off the secret sound.

Check out Vanilla Ice’s music video for 1991’s “Go Ninja Go” below:

Akon: Jay Z and Beyonce's Marital Problems Will Help "Make Better Music" (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Two questions: Where has Akon been? What is Akon talking about? After being stopped on the streets of Washington, D.C., Akon spoke on Beyonce and Jay Z’s marriage and how its public perception has been constructed.

Akon has four wives, so he is well versed in the mechanics of marriage. While outside of the Knight Conference Center speaking with TMZ, he explains the the public perception of Beyonce and Jay Z’s marriage:

Their relationship has been more of a business to the outside world than an actual relationship. To them, it may be relationship, but it was presented to the world…and it feels more corporate.

Rumors of a rift between Beyonce and Jay Z have circulate throughout the duration of their On The Run tour. Akon states that the pair are trying to keep their relationship out of the public eye, but when you are a peson of interest in the public, it’s almost impossible to do it without speculation.” While Akon admits that the rumors are impossible to avoid, he does explain how their alleged marital problems can help the music:

What they going through is going to make great music. It’s going to make better music. Believe it or not, because now they have more content to actually speak about. They’re not the only ones dealing with it. People are dealing with exactly the same thing, but on a smaller scale.

Nicki Minaj Explains Why "Anaconda" Leaked, Being Afraid To Rap For Beyonce + MORE

(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj can handle any sort of anaconda, but not the criticism of Beyeonce. During a recent interview, Nicki Minaj explains why she was afraid to rap for Beyonce and why Anaconda leaked.

Nicki Minaj and Beyonce released their collaborative effort on “Flawless (Remix)” this past Sunday (August 3rd), Nicki reveals on 97.1 AMP Radio that her verse was risque and she “was afraid to let her hear it actually” because “I don’t want to say anything that would offend her.”

Nicki Minaj released “Anaconda” from The Pinkprint yesterday (August 4th) after the song leaked last week. According to Nicki, the song was scheduled to come out August 11th, but technical difficulties led to the leak:

We had already sent the song out to people like iTunes and Google and all of that. There was on particular app that didn’t delete it out of their system and by mistake gave it to their customers. It just was inevitable, the leak started happening online and so we had to just release it today.
