(AllHipHop News) West Coast pioneer MC Big Hutch a.k.a. Cold 187Um surprised his fans early this morning with a new album.
The latest release, titled The Big Hit was produced entirely by the rapper, who decided to release the album just 12 hours after alerting his fans.
Big Hutch decided to release the album on his own West World Records label, which is being distributed by The Big Shot Music Group.
“I didn’t want to do the same ole ‘pre-hype’ type of promotion with this project. I have a long enough history with my fans to where I can just get the word out and be like here is my new album…go get it, without all the fluff and drag,” Big Hutch told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “Most of the time when I do pre-hype a release, my fans want it right then and there anyways. They don’t want to have to wait a month or two for it to drop. I’m giving my fans what they really want, a record from me that they can purchase within a few hours of knowing about the release.”
The Big Hit is the follow-up to Big Hutch’s last official album, The Only Solution, which was released on The Insane Clown Posse’s Psychopathic Records.
Big Hutch said he left Psychopathic Records, after division in the Juggalo fan community arose over Big Hutch’s involvement with The Insane Clown Posse and the label.
The West Coast legend is also preparing two new releases, titled Live From Hell’s Kitchen and O.G. Since 1967 in addition to a collaborative album titled I Am The True Definition Of Hip-Hop with his protegé, Cali Barnes.

(AllHipHop News) Wrestling is fake. Twitter is realistic. Earlier tonight (March 31st), Wale allegedly got into an altercation with an audience member at the WWE Raw event in Washington, D.C. over a few disparaging tweets.
The two men were in attendance at the Verizon Center for the WWE’s Monday Night Raw and engaged in a short back-and-forth on Twitter. The audience member threatened to deliver one of the most well known wrestling moves of the last 15 years on the Maybach Music Group rapper:
You at Monday night raw f######? Come see me in the ring and catch this stunner @wale
— Side Show Joe (@Chefboyrnach) April 1, 2014
@Wale LLLMMMMMMMAAAAOOOOO couple rows away breh
— Side Show Joe (@Chefboyrnach) April 1, 2014
According to multiple accounts from attendees at the Verizon Center, Wale soon after approached the heckler and shoved him. WWE security detained both men and escorted them out of the crowd before allowing them to return shortly thereafter:
Wrestling just got real! Dude was on Twitter talking smack about @Wale at WWE #RAW in DC. Looked up & Wale was puttin the #Smackdown on him!
— Jawn Murray (@JawnMurray) April 1, 2014
WWE security ran over to try & break things up! Everyone went in the hallway & now @Wale back chillin in his seat eating popcorn! #RAW
— Jawn Murray (@JawnMurray) April 1, 2014
Wale himself seemed to be in good spirits following the altercation. Wale addressed the physical altercation by implying that that was the best course of action given the fan’s threats:
@MrBusby4o8 several times.. I don’t understand the standards that I’m supposed to live by.. If I knew I honestly would adjust somethings
— Wale Folarin (@Wale) April 1, 2014
Wale remixes “Sunshine” off The Gifted album and adds Rozay and Common it. Check out this upbeat joint.
“I was inside a small room, inside a small apartment – writing in my books. Every thing I seen, everything I learned. And it just blew my mind. As a teenager, I was talking about a life that a Viet Nam vet had gone though. This is life.”
– Nas on his state of being while writing Illmatic.
Nas raised the bar over the weekend. Again.
The rap god performed two sold out, historic shows at the revered John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Friday and Saturday last weekend. Nas, backed by the National Symphony Orchestra, tore the house down by performing the entire Illmatic album, in honor of the opus’ 20th year anniversary. With DJ Green Lantern in tow, as well as a full rhythm section, Nas also cranked out other hit records like “One Mic,” “Made You Look,” “You’re Da Man” and “Hate Me Now.”
The crowd – of all shapes, ages, sizes and socio-economic backgrounds – loved every minute of the electric evening.
As the night closed, Nas said, “Its the end of the cassette tape (crowd laughs and moans). You can always turn it around. But this song here was inspired by Michael Jackson. If you notice on my (Illmatic) album cover was a kid with a little afro. I thought about it later and I was trying to channel Mike…with his afro. This one is from “Human Nature’ (from MJ’s coveted Thriller album).” The Queensbridge lyricist finished with “It Ain’t Hard To Tell.”
But the show wasn’t over.
The Nas, Green, the band and the 40-piece orchestra departed the stage. But, it didn’t last.
Soon, to the crowds delight, Nas returned with just a DJ and The Rhythm section for an encore performance.

(AllHipHop News) Pharrell could be nearing the Guinness Book of World Records for most jobs in a calendar year. Today (March 31st), it was announced that Pharrell will replace Cee Lo Green on the seventh season of The Voice.
The news comes a day after Cee Lo Green appeared in a Los Angeles court over accusations of spiking a woman’s drink with ecstasy back in July 2012. A preliminary hearing for the case is set for April 28t, near the end of season 6 of The Voice, his final season with the show.
The news was announced on the NBC show’s official Twitter account:
Okay, we can OFFICIALLY say it! WE ARE SO #HAPPY to announce PHARRELL WILLIAMS = #NewVoiceCoach for SEASON 7. pic.twitter.com/GayqbMeU1l
— The Voice (@NBCTheVoice) March 31, 2014
During an interview on The Ellen Degeneres Show this past February, Cee Lo announced he would not return to The Voice. Cee Lo did not mention his legal troubles when explaining his reason for not returning, but instead places the blame on being on the show for too long:
I’m not coming back at all. I just don’t want to wear out my welcome there, you know what I’m saying? I have so many other things that I want to do. I haven’t released an album in four years. I’m almost done with my album.
(AllHipHop News) The plot thickens. Today (March 31st), a day after Benzino was allegedly shot by his nephew G## Scott during Benzino’s mother’s funeral procession, G## Scott appeared in court and rendered a not guilty plea while claiming self-defense.
G## Scott appeared in Plymouth District Court earlier today and faced a charged of armed assault with the intent to murder. Scott’s attorney Jon Ciraulo rendered the verdict of not guilty on his client’s behalf and informed The Boston Globe that Scott’s actions were in self-defense:
When the dust settles, this case will be shown to be self-defense
Benzino’s attorney Martin K. Leppo responded to G## Scott’s self defense claims by stating that G## Scott shooting six shots into Benzino’s car and then chasing him down the highway “doesn’t sound like self-defense to me.’
The cause of the shooting has been reportedly linked to family issues over the management of Bezino’s mother’s land. Maureen Scott, Benzino’s sister and G## Scott’s mother, had her attorney Christopher B. Coughlin relay her disapproval of Benzino’s actions and makes accusations of ulterior promotional motives for Benzino:
My client and his family, including Maureen [Scott] vehemently deny any accusations that Benzino is making. I would suggest that he [the uncle] has an agenda in utilizing and self-promoting at this time.
(AllHipHop News) Whether a 21 year old Lauryn Hill was ready for an emotional outburst or not, those tears came. According to former bandmate Pras, Hill broke down in tears and eventually rejoined The Fugees after initially recording the hook for the hit “Ready or Not”.
During his interview with Billboard Pras revealed that The Fugees had disbanded before their 1996 career defining sophomore album The Score was finished being recorded. Her hook on “Ready or Not” was intended to be Hill’s final contribution as member of The Fugees, until emotions took over:
She calls me and says, ‘Listen, I’m going to come down to the studio and I’m going to lay down a reference for you guys, a hook. I give you permission to use my hook, my voice, but I don’t want to be a part of this group anymore.’ I said, ‘Fair enough. No problem.’ She said, ‘Make sure certain people are not around when I’m there.’ I said, ‘No problem.’ She’s laying the reference for ‘Ready Or Not’ and then she goes into the bridge and she’s crying. I see her crying. She stops and says, ‘I can’t do this anymore,’ and leaves. A couple months later she re-joins the group.
The Fugees’ The Score went on to win the 1997 Gramm Award for Best Rap Album and sold over 17 million records woldwide. The group disbanded in 1997.

An investment into loyalty over royalty has yielded an enduring legacy. Governed by a creed of universal commandments Da Mafia 6ix’s existence continues to thrive. A sincere portrayal of humble circumstances transformed their situation.
With over 20 years sewed into their craft the iconic group continues to create. This June, Da 6ix Commandents, their latest effort will be available.
This exclusive details everything from touring to sustained beliefs:
Group’s Artistic Evolution:
Well, the good part about it is [that] we’re still together as a group. After 24 years, we can still come out here and rock the crowd to songs that we did 20 years ago. So, I mean, a lot of people can’t really do that. So, that’s the best part about it. – DJ Paul
On Materialism:
It’s just about the music, man. You know, we don’t let it get over our heads. We do it for the fans. It’s about doing it for the fans first. As long as you do it for the fans first, and let all the fruits of the labor come after that, then you’ll be good. You can’t never let all your possessions and all the other sh*t get in the way. You got to focus on making good music. The fans are gonna be there and they will follow you. And that’s basically what it’s about. Don’t let the material sh*t get in your way. – DJ Paul
Remembering Lord Infamous:
Well, it just makes us want to do it harder; you know what I’m saying. He helped us put it all back together. He was a key part in the atmosphere to keep us all together. So, you know, we just to make sure we do it right just for him. He was one of the original members who started out with Three 6 Mafia. So, we gotta do it up under his guidelines and rules like he was still here. -DJ Paul
New York University’s Organization of Black Women hosted its 8th Annual “Women on the Move” panel in honor of Women’s month March 27th at the Kimmel Auditorium on NYU’s campus. Panelists included fashion designer – Angela Simmons, Journalist – Miss Info, Vice President of Def Jam Marketing – Akinah Rahmaan, Celebrity Fashion stylist and brand curator – Cleo Wade, and Vh1 reality star and club owner – Tahiry Jose with moderator Dee Vazquez and DJ – DJ Jazzy Joyce. The panel was created to inform, educate, and empower young women by collaborating with strong female industry leaders who’s focus was to give students’ incredible insight on how to brand themselves, create their own careers and become their own bosses.
While New York University students enjoyed an extensive interactive panel with the guest speakers, they also received surprising revelations and answers to misconceptions about women in the entertainment industry. One being educational background or lack there of. But Tahiry and Miss Info both surprised audience members with their degrees; Tahiry receiving a bachelor degree from John Jay School of Criminal Justice and Miss Info a graduate from Columbia University. Miss Info also revealed how hard it was being accepted as an Asian reporting on Hip Hop Culture in an African American dominated field in the beginning. Tahiry kept it real with the students and embraced her celebrity for looking good in a thong. But also explained the importance of maximizing opportunities given and creating a platform for a successful business; which she successfully has done from working as a bartender to now owning one of the hottest clubs in Harlem, NY, Suite 135.
.
Angela Simmons shut down the presumption that opportunity is given to her and that her celebrity family financially supports her. Angela let the audience know her dad (Rev Run of Run DMC) and uncle (Russell Simmons) are there for advice. But her entrepreneurial ventures she’s created on her own and actually has to fight harder because of those presumptions. Akinah Rahmaan, who’s worked for ad agencies, was a music supervisor for a film company, to her position at the music label, lets students know its ok to start over and try new things at any age until you find your passion. Cleo Wade, who is known in the blogs for being Katy Perry’s best friend, is more that what you read. She’s also a very well known and established celebrity fashion stylist as well as fashion consultant for major brands like Alice and Olivia.
In the past, WOTM has had incredible speakers such as journalist and Political industry tycoon,Danyel Smith, author, NBC Talk Stoop’s Cat Greenleaf, and District 21 Council Member Julissa Ferreras (the first elected Latina council in the borough of Queens). How the hell does this happen?
After 19 years, a man discovers that his loving wife used to be a man. Apparently, they make these sorts of fools. Here’s how it went down.
A Belgian man is seeking to have his marriage annulled after discovering that his Indonesian wife of 19 years had been born a man. The man, only named as Jan, married Monica, his family’s former nanny in a previous marriage, in 1993 despite legal difficulties raised by the Belgian immigration authorities. But it was only in recent weeks that he discovered that his wife had originally been a man and had undergone a sex change.
“I feel I’ve been assaulted,” he said. “I brought her to Belgium. That was not easy. The Belgian courts had serious doubts about the authenticity of her birth and her identity papers, but eventually they accepted it anyway.“I thought she was an attractive woman, all woman. She had no male traits.” Jan, 64, said that he and his wife had decided not to have children because he had two by his previous marriage and she fooled him by pretending to m#########, using sanitary towels, “to conceal the truth”. “Even during sex, I never noticed anything,” he said.
For many years the couple lived a normal family life and Monica, 48, was like a “big sister” to his children until their marriage started to come under strain when she got a new full-time job.
Long story short, she started sleeping around with men and the homey found out. He lost it on her/him, according to the report. She/he confessed that she was once a boy. Through the miracle of science, she got an operation and turned into a fella. The man is now in counseling after the trauma. He’s not even allowed to toss his wife out of his own home according to Belgium law. I’m thinking she wants to be out for her own safety…but what do I know?
