WTF News: Korean Woman Makes $9,000 a Month Eating on Camera

What the hell am I doing with my life? Apparently, there’s a new fad in Korea called gastronomic voyeurism where people are paying to watching people eat via web cam. One woman, referred to as “The Diva,” does this for up to three hours a day and said the people who watch her are people who can’t eat much for various reasons, so they live vicariously through her. They also have the options to chat with her or send virtual balloons, which translates to money.

She quit her day job because she makes about $9,000 a month.

This is already creepy as it is but I’m pretty sure there are perverts and horny toads out there watching this for other reasons.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Amina Buddafly Addresses Pregnancy Rumors

About those rumors circulating that Love and Hip-Hop star Amina Buddafly is pregnant…

We’ve been hearing industry chatter that she is knocked up and that all isn’t rosey in loveland between she and Peter Gunz but both parties are keeping it mum on whether it’s true or not most likely because they’re under contract.

Hip Hollywood caught up with Amina, who says viewers will find out soon enough.

“I can’t really talk about that yet because that’s something that’s going to be revealed on the show still. People have to stay tuned and watch to see really what’s going on,” she said.

She also added a shady tidbit about their relationship.

“We’re still together. We’re still married. It’s rocky, but we’re working it out. I love him,” she said.

In other words, she’s probably going to do a 13 year bid like Tara before reaching a real breaking point.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Shekinah Addresses TI, Tiny Divorce Chatter

Yesterday I mentioned that some Instagram pics posted by T.I. and Tiny had folks raising eyebrows (on not much basis, though) about the couple possibly headed for a divorce. Sandra Rose said their reps revealed that the couple had no plans of splitting as far as they knew. Reps will say anything to sugar coat though, so it’s better to hear it from actual friends. Enter Tiny’s BFF Shekinah. She hopped on Instagram to tell people to cool it on the rumors.

Screen Shot 2014 01 28 at 10 33 52 AM
We get it. Shekinah’s a good source but only T.I. and Tiny really know what’s going on with their love. Hopefully they do keep it together, and hopefully there won’t be any “breaks” where random jump offs turn up pregnant.

EXCLUSIVE: Dom Kennedy Talks Tour, Never Releasing Free Mixtapes Again + More

(AllHiphop Feature) After his October release of his second commercially released album Get Home Safely, Dom Kennedy is quickly becoming one of the preeminent voices in the independent Hip Hop scene. The album was released on Kennedy’s The Other People’s Money Company record label after turning down an offer from Interscope Records. Dom spoke exclusively with AllHipHop about his upcoming tour, potentially never releasing another project for free and more.

AllHipHop: You have said that you wanted Get Home Safely to be timeless. It has been over three months since it came out. How do you think it has lasted over that short period of time?

Dom Kennedy: I feel like it’s doing good. It’s got better. We’ve sold on iTunes and stores consistently selling records. People are picking it up and buying. We  haven’t shot no videos really. “South Central Love” being the first video and it was a trailer. But, we have a couple of songs off there we shooting videos for. One coming real, real soon. It’s really just about to be started.

You’re right. You haven’t really started a big push for the album. At one point it was even pushed back. But when it came out it was the only independently released album on the Top 5 Billboard Hip Hop Album Charts. How does that feel to be up there with the Pusha T’s, the Drake’s and you’re the only one independent?

Makes me want to work harder..to be honest. Seeing how close we have….how far we have come to how close we are doing things like that being independent, you know what I mean? Kind of just makes you see, how much more could you push or where could you go. Keep going with it. That’s what keep me going. Seeing things like that keeps me going.

What is your writing process like? How does Dom Kennedy get down to making a song?

It starts with the music off top. I’ll sit around listening to beats with producers. Whoever I’m working with, whether they bringing me beats or we creating something from scratch or any of that. I am always starting with the music. I’m always starting with the music, because that’s going to let me know which direction and where I’m going to go. After that I’m just trying to be apart of the music.

When I found the beat for “Black Bentleys” it wasn’t that it took me to write..it doesn’t take me till 6 in the morning if I start at 11 to write every word. It just takes me a while to figure out what it is that this beat needs me to do and what story I need to tell. That’s moreso what it was is getting the most out of that and making sure that when I’m done with it. I’m done with it. I don’t have nothing about it I feel a different way.

You released music before 2008 but 2008 was when you released your debut mixtape 25th Hour. Also around that time Nipsey Hussle came out with Bullets Don’t Have No Names Vol. 1. Curren$y had his mixtape series. Odd Future and Kid Cudi released debut mixtapes. So many rappers that are nowx major players in the game started in 2008. What was that year like?

It was interesting. It was a unique time. Now looking back on it now it was a unique time. Like you said a lot of people came out around that time and still survived. I’ve been talking about this more recently with people and coming to a realization like that was just a unique window. Its not going to be like that again. Those peope and the people that came through at that time, you know? With the internet and rap trying to get back on its feet and just the music business in general was in a shuffle. It was cracked in a sense that it allowed people like me to get by but I think if you was coming out 2014 and this your first start at it, you can’t do what a Dom Kennedy does.

A recent trend that’s happening is once rappers who get known for mixtapes and consistent mixtape releases get a certain level of notoriety they start releasing them less. Now that you have two commercial albums under your belt already, will you cut back on giving out free projects?

I don’t know. I haven’t really thought about that. The Yellow Album was free, but that was only because it was by choice. I was going into it and that was my mindset. Honestly, after I started making it I knew it was going to be tight and I could sell it and all that but in my mind and in my heart I went in to make this for free. But I don’t know if I’ll ever do a mixtape or something like that–something for free. I don’t really see how it would fit into what I do, especially at this point. The goal is to get better and to go harder. If my next goal is to be 10 times better than Get Home Safely why would I put that out for free if I didn’t put Get Home Safely out for free?

You coming to New York City for Irving Plaza. How you feel?

It’s my first time at Irving Plaza. I’m looking forward to the venue. It’s my first time performing there in New York. We always have a good time. I know it’s cold as sh*t. I’m coming out every night with one goal in mind, just doing my thing. Bringing the album and the feeling that I had, the mindset that I had when making the project to the stage. Obviously I’m going to get into some other songs for the fans, some Yellow Album songs. I’m just looking forward to brining my favorite body of work up to date to this point, Get Home Safely to the stage.

Dom Kennedy is performing tonight at Irving Plaza.

Nas Cosigns Mac Miller, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole

(AllHipHop News) Nasir Jones is one of the greatest emcees to ever pick up a microphone, so when the Queens, New York native mentions your name as one of the rappers he checks for, that is a major co-sign from a legendary artist.

Hip Hop's Anger Over Macklemore's Grammy Win Is About Respect Not Race

(AllHipHop Editorial) There has been a lot of discussion in the press the last few days about the Hip Hop community’s reaction to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ win for Best Rap Album at this year’s Grammys Awards.

Most of the attention has focused on Macklemore being a white rapper as the cause for the blowup.  However, centering the conversation around race is an inaccurate deception of why the Hip Hop community was p#####. In reality, it had nothing to do with the color of Macklemore’s skin and everything to do with the quality of his product.

[ALSO READ: THE TOP 5 MOMENTS OF THE 2014 GRAMMYS]

For some reason, there are people that want to display core rap fans as racist for not embracing Macklemore’s triumph on Grammy night. Those same people clearly do not understand the history of Hip Hop. While the culture was started by Black and Latino youth in the 1970’s, it has long incorporated participants of every race and nationality.

You can just look at a superstar like Eminem as a prime example. Em gets his fair share of hate, but he is also well-respected by many rap purists. You can even go back to the Beastie Boys and MC Serch, or currently look at artists like Mac Miller, Alchemist, Necro, or El-P.

Plus, the Hip Hop community includes hosts of white journalists, visual artists, DJs, and producers (including the legendary Rick Rubin) that have greatly contributed to the culture. Even Macklemore has been championed for years. He was selected as one of XXL magazine’s freshman class members in 2012, and AllHipHop did an exclusive feature on him that same year.

Hip Hop has never discriminated against race. It does have an aversion for disrespect, and that’s what Macklemore’s Best Rap Album win represents for many in Hip Hop. It’s this feeling that the “The Establishment” still doesn’t respect our art form enough to actually give credit to the works that deserve to be recognized.

Let’s be clear, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis had an amazing year. Their album went platinum. They had two number one singles on the Billboard charts. The reached a level of success that should be celebrated and rewarded, but the question at hand is: Did they release the best rap album of the year?

Most followers of rap music, both the press and the fans, would most likely say no. It’s not a stretch to assume Hip Hop listeners think that honor should have gone to Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d. city. K. Dot’s major label debut is arguably one of the greatest albums of any genre over the last several years. Music critics hailed it as a masterpiece evidenced by its Metacritic.com rating of 91/100 (The Heist’s rating is 74/100).

Macklemore himself stated publicly that GKMC was the most deserving of the award telling The Source, “In terms of [that category], I think it should go to Kendrick… We obviously had massive success on commercial radio, and I think that, in ways, The Heist was a bigger album, but Kendrick has a better rap album.”

So if good kid, m.A.A.d city was the favorite to win Best Rap Album based on critical acclaim, support from rap fans, and a fellow nominee calling for its victory, why didn’t it win?

One excuse has been because Macklemore is a more mainstream artist. Well, Kendrick’s album sold nearly as many copies as Macklemore’s: 1,143,000 to 1,269,000. Kendrick has videos on YouTube with over 20 million views, and he also appeared on nationwide magazine covers for GQ and ESPN.

Not to mention he was clearly well-known enough to garner 7 Grammy nominations including Album of the Year, so it would seem Grammy members were aware of who he is. And if it was just about name recognition, wouldn’t Jay Z, Kanye West, or Drake have taken home the award? They are all more famous than both Kendrick and Macklemore and each already have at least one Best Rap Album Grammy win.

There’s no way to really tell why the Grammys decided to award Macklemore with the title of best rap album of the year. It could have been voters selected someone that resembles the person they see in the mirror (which happens in all aspects of life). It could have been that the left leaning Academy decided to honor Macklemore’s pro-gay marriage stance. It could have been inside industry politics. Who knows? Whatever the reason, it was not because Macklemore had the better body of work which should have been the only criteria that truly mattered.

This is at the heart of Hip Hop’s beef with the Grammys; it’s not anger at Macklemore or his race. After 40 years in existence (outliving other genres of music); after being co-opted into television commercials and print ads to sell products; after producing cross over megastars like Will Smith, Jay Z, LL Cool J, and Queen Latifah; after the President of the United States proudly confesses his love for the culture; after all this, the finest example of our artistry is still not properly celebrated by those who claim that their sole purpose is to do just that.

We lived through some of our greatest representatives like Public Enemy, Nas, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Run DMC, and many others getting completely ignored by the Grammys.

We lived through the fact that four decades later, only two of our albums have ever won the Grammy for Album of the Year despite such musical masterworks as Paid in Full, Midnight Marauders, The Chronic, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, The Marshall Mathers LP, and The College Dropout.

We lived through questionable Grammy decisions before like Young MC’s “Bust a Move” beating Public Enemy’s “Fight the Power” in 1990 for Best Rap Performance or the Black Eyed Peas’ back-to-back wins in the Best Rap Performance Duo/Group category in 2005 and 2006.

We know how this has all played out in the past, but this is the one time, with all the across-the-board acknowledgements given to Kendrick’s classic LP, that we hoped the Grammys would finally respect Hip Hop for its artistic excellence, and not just reward the hype.

Tray Dee and Goldie Loc To Reunite As KDAY's Krush Groove Moves To The Forum!

(AllHipHop News) Two legendary names will be partnering together this upcoming April as the iconic Hip-Hop station 93.5 KDAY will be teaming up with the hallowed grounds of sports and entertainment, the fabulous Forum in Inglewood, CA for Krush Groove 2014.

“I look forward to continue this great concert tradition in a building (The Forum) which is just as legendary as KDAY,” said KDAY Program Director Adrian Scott in an exclusive statement to AllHipHop.com.

The event will also be producing another great pairing as the soon-to-be released Tray Dee will be rejoining his longtime rap partner Goldie Loc for a reuniting of Tha Eastsidaz.

At present time there is no word if there will be a complete Eastsidaz reunion but for now two of the Eastside Long Beach natives have been confirmed. Tray Dee has been serving what was originally a 12 year Prison sentence since 2004 but is now set to be released in March.

In past interviews with AllHipHop.com, Tray Dee has informed us that his partnership with Goldie Loc was dissolved for personal and unknown reasons but it appears that all is now well between the two which is great news for West Coast rap fans.

Also scheduled to appear at Krush Groove 2014 for the first time (and yet another great pairing) is Method Man and Redman as the two How High movie co-stars perform their classic jams together. Bone Thugs N Harmony, Too $hort, DJ Quik, 2nd II None, Daz & WC and the show’s first female headliner The Lady of Rage will round off the concert lineup (with more special guests to be included). Pre-Sale tickets for KDAY’s Krush Groove will begin on January 29 via Ticketmaster.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Why Was Jay Z Consoling Beyonce?

First of all, was Jay Z consoling Beyonce? Its seemed like Jay was needed to help Beyonce get through that windfall of their performance at the Grammys. Not sure, but the energy seemed off for the performance and the aftermath. After their performance, there are pics of Jay holding B. Some people are thinking that a barely visible nip slip may be the source of sadness. Honestly, nobody even saw it, but it was there. So….Hmmmm….the internet was pretty mean to the beautiful Beyonce, but nobody’s safe. This we know.

The hate in some peoples’ heart is unfathomable!

WTF News: Mother Leaves Sons Trapped Inside Hot Car so She Can go Have Sex

Another day another terrible parent. In this case, a woman left her two young sons in a hot car so that she could go have sex. She was in a nearby car while her boys waited for her. At one point, her older son opened his car door and called for her so she gave him a phone to play with and then turned on the child locks so that he couldn’t get out again.

Her boys died.

Kendrick Lamar's Performance Was Most Talked About Grammy Moment On Twitter

(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar might have tied India Arie in 2002 with seven Grammy nominations without a single win one night, but he was the people’s choice.

According to information released from Twitter, Kendrick Lamar’s performance with Imagine Dragon at the 56th annual Grammy Awards was the most tweeted moment of the event. The performance garnered 171,593 tweets per minute. Over 15.2 million tweets were sent out during the east coast telecast of the Grammy’s.

Beyonce was the second most mentioned artist on Twitter during the Grammy’s behind Lorde, which makes her the most mentioned artist on Twitter to not win a Grammy last night.

This year’s Grammy’s telecast reportedly attracted 28.5 million viewer, the second highest ratings for the Grammy’s in over a decade. However, the 28.5 million viewers is less than a1 1% increase over the 28.4 million viewers from last year’s telecast.

Hip-Hop Rumors: T.I. and Tiny Headed For Divorce?

And people thought they were breaking up but Sandra Rose reached out to their reps who told her that the couple had no plans for divorce. They were also spotted attending the Grammys together.

This doesn’t mean they’re not having problems, as every couple goes through it sometimes, but chill out on the wild speculations.
