(AllHipHop News) Pusha Ton might still believe Drake is signed to one man who’s signed to three other men and that it may be messed up but he’s not above being objective. After Drake and Kanye’s unsuspected union at Drake’s OVO Fest this past Sunday (August 5th), Revolt TV caught up with Drake’s constant adversary and asked about his views on the pair’s union.
Check out the short clip below:
(AllHipHop News) Last night (August 7th) Casio put on a secret show for its 30th anniversary of their G-Shock watch line in New York City. Eminem was the headlining performer but his presence was not only on display on the stage but during Casio’s reveal of their upcoming line of watches.

(AllHipHop News) Right above Wu-Tang Clan on the list of things you do not mess with has and will always be God and a North Carolina pastor learned that the hard way. 26 Year old Rodney Willis was fired as as the pastor of Mt. Salem Baptist Church in North Carolina after it was discovered he had attended a Rick Ross concert.
Deacon Miles Langley said the 11 to 3 vote to relieve the pastor of four years of his duties was a result of a perception of Rick Ross’ music as “tearing down the kingdom of God”:
We know that many saints will have mixed opinions from our actions, but this is not how we do things here at Mt. Salem. We cannot have a pastor praising the world one minute then praising the Lord the next. Period,” Langley continued.
Willis was also observed at a Lil Wayne concert nine month ago.
Wednesday night, at Wired Road Studios in Houston, TX, the scene was set Kirko Bangz, Houston’s shining star, to present his latest mixtape effort, Progression 3. If you were in this studio, it was packed with industry, DJs and tastemakers as well as the cream of the crop in the Houston Hip-Hop scene. Each room you walked in had Hip-Hop artist like Bun B, Slim Thug, DJ Hi-C, jewelry to the stars – TV Johnny, Lil Keke and a slew of rising/established Breeding Ground Alumni’s Killa Kyleon [#BGA], Delorean [#BGA], Propain [#BGA], Le$ [#BGA], Doughbeezy [#BGA].
Kirko spoke with passion on the his latest project and from the crowd reaction, we all showed passion for our favorite tracks on the project. Some of the stand out songs were “Vent,” the ladies will like Kirko singing skills on “Tonight” and the anthem cut which got Slim Thug off his feet was the newly released video for the song “Cup Up Top Down” featuring Z-RO, Paul Wall & Slim Thug.
AllHipHop had a chance to speak with Kirko about his progression and the Progression 3 mixtape.
Take a look at the picts from last night lessing session:
Progression 3 is set for release on August 12th
(AllHipHop News) No matter what negative press surrounds Dark Man X he has always remained productive. AllHipHop was sent information from DMX’s publicist about X being involved in a comedic jail scene in the new, as-of-yet untitled Chris Rock movie.
In an official statement, X and Rock were said to have incredible comedic chemistry which resulted in DMX being apart of an interesting musical number in the film:
The scene is comedic which allowed X to show off his versatility as an actor. X and Rock played well off each other and Rock’s character even gets DMX to lead the inmates in a song. There are more acting roles to come and DMX is also planning on attending the Sundance Film Festival in January.
Here is another exclusive picture from the set of the movie:
No word on title or release date of the film. Check out the hilarious scene from Chris Rock’s 2001 film Down To Earth where Rock’s character recites the lyrics to DMX’s “Ruff Ryders Anthem”:
(AllHipHop News) You can argue who the greatest rapper of all time is and what the criteria for that prestigious title entails. You can also argue what the best watch is as well.
But after last night’s 30th Anniversary concert for G-Shock at the secret location, Basketball City, in New York City, you can not deny that Eminem and G-Shock know how to garner attention and put on a great show.
Casio began the show stating they had sold over 65 million watches in its 30 year history. They had their extensive line of watches on display from their first watch in 1983 to their latest watches that can resists intense fire, freezing and water conditions.
The theme of the night was “Shock The World” and the people at Casio made sure that permeated every facet of the night. For example, the Casio America CEO and co-founder of G-Shock, Shigenori Itoh arrived to the event on a motorcycle. Mr. Itoh, along with G-Shock creator/engineer Kikuo Ibe and Yuichi Masuda discussed the future of G-Shock before they were accompanied by celebrity guests guests James Marsden, Jessica Stam and Brooklyn Nets stars Brook Lopez and Paul Pierce:
After the formalities, a few hours of open bar access and impatient fan chatter, the show began with Yelawolf, donning American flag shades, running through a litany of fan favorites and deep album cuts from his debut Radioactive. His song “White Boy Sh*t” from his 2012 mixtape Heart of Dixie got the biggest crowd reaction with the racially mixed crowd yelling in unison “I’m on that white boy sh*t”.
The second Yelawolf exited the stage, chants for “Marshall”, “Slim Shady” and “Eminem” began blaring from the crowd and there were plenty of spectators explicitly demonstrating their standom fandom for Eminem:
The 80 million record selling lyrical titan arrived on the stage with a live band and Alchemist as his DJ as he went straight into the adrenaline inducing Recovery track “Wont Back Down”. From there it was a mix of classic Eminem songs (“I Just Dont Give A F*ck”, “Criminal”, “Business”) and newer bangers (“Airplanes”, “Forever”, “Not Afraid). Em even brought out his Bad Meets Evil partner Royce Da 5’9 to perform their Bruno Mars-assisted single “Lighters”.
While Eminem’s breath control and mesmerizing energy kept the enjoyment levels at high, there were problems with the performance that cheapened the event. The biggest problem was the mic volume which affected all the performers that night and even rendering a good portion of Eminem’s lyrics, speeches and interactions with the crowd inaudible, severely affecting the momentum. Numerous times the Detroit legend could be seen adjusting his earpiece and looking blankly at his band.
Even in the midst of that,, the dedicated Eminem fans rapped every fast paced, slowed down, murderous, revelatory and aggressive lyric that came out of that man’s mouth. It truly is a rare experience to witness hundreds of people rap “Stan” line for line with most of the audio barely being heard.
Then again it is rare you get to see the greatest rapper of all time perform.
Some people are deeply concerned about Bizzy Bone, the often-presumed lead rapper in Bone Thugs N Harmony. The man has lived a rough life, going way back to his childhood, but these recent images have people very scared about his health. What could it be?
I can tell you that “they” are saying the usual stuff…the “monster” and drugs.
I don’t know, it may be simply that Bizzy has been hard on himself and its starting to show.

(AllHipHop News) “This is Why I’m Hot” hit maker Mims recently spoke to AllHipHop.com about his long running lawsuit with former record label Capitol, over his 2007-08 earnings.
Mims claims to have made close to $15 million with the label on his first album run, mainly because of the #1 single “This Is Why I’m Hot,” which has sold over million copies and has been certified platinum.
So, after having such a successful first run with his 2007 major label debut Music Is My Savior, we sat down with him to discuss why his follow-up album Guilt underperformed.
Mims touched on coming into the game with a mainstream smash like “This is Why I’m Hot.”
“I remember getting the record for ‘This is why I’m Hot’ and I said to myself ‘Im so fed up with the way the music industry’s going that I’ma make a song to show them the state of Hip-Hop and where it’s at,” Mims told AllHipHop.com. “That’s why you get the line in the record ‘This Is Why I’m Hot’ : I don’t gotta rap/I could make a mil saying nothing on the track.'”
Mims claims the lawsuit slowed down the momentum of his career, since Capitol Records allegedly owes the rapper more than 7 figures more than what he stated he had already earned from the single.
“We made a good amount of money from 07-08. The problem is when the time to pay that money comes up,” Mims explained to AllHipHop.com. “My situation with Capitol was, and still is considered a JV [Joint Venture] deal, which means that after all expenses are paid you’re suppose to split the profits 50/50 with the company. What these companies like to do is inflate expenses and tuck away a lot of different money. Plain and simple. We talked about it away from the camera…it’s like stealing money from somebody.”

So, why did B just up and change her hairstyle up? Or cut it, the way they are saying? Nobody really knows but some are speculating that that Jay line where he says:
Girl why you never ready
For as long as you took
You better look like Halle Berry
Or Beyoncè. S### then we getting married
– “Beach Is Better”
Did she hear that and make this face?
Now, it may seem petty but Halle has almost always rocked the short hair and never looks right with it long.
Well, I take that back – Halle is dope with long or short hair. But, is B making a statement? She still looks good, but more mature if you ask me. I wonder how long she will keep it like this? She’s sure got the internets on fire. Only a matter of time until these girls start cutting their hair too.

On July 30, West Coast emcee Crooked I released his latest independent album Apex Predator via iTunes and digital outlets everywhere. What makes Apex Predator a unique project from past Crooked I releases is the focus, energy, and development that the veteran rhyme-slayer dedicates to this new album. AllHipHop.com took a trip out to the Treacherous Records studio in Glendale, CA to get the story behind Crooked I’s new aggressive attitude towards the music industry in a two-part interview. Watch out! The Apex Predator is on the loose!
AllHipHop.com: That song with Tech N9ne “Let Me Get It” is like two monsters going at it, unleashing their fury over a city, knocking down buildings and destroying everything in their paths.
Crooked I: Just like Godzilla vs. King Kong. When I heard the beat, there’s an excerpt in that song from the Scarface movie and I thought that sh*t was hard. I recorded a verse to it and I sent it to Joe Budden and he was like, “Yo! I got to get on this song.” So I told him that I would hold it for him so we could rock out on it. I told him that I was going to put Tech on it too. Joe thought that was a dope idea but then he started doing the Love and Hip-Hop thing and became real busy. I turned to Tech and asked him to bless the track real quick. Me personally, I feel like if you make music, then you need to put it out. Don’t sit on a lot of music. If you’ve got music – put that sh*t out. Tech came in and did it. There will be a Joe Budden remix.
AllHipHop.com: Joey is dope no doubt, but anybody who jumps on that song has their work cut out for them.
Crooked I: Tech is the master of double time rapping. He’s mastered that rapid flow. To me, he is up there in the Top 3 of all-time of those that have the rapid flow. There’s Twista of course. I’ll probably have an argument over which Bone Thugs member belongs there too. I always shout out Tech. Whenever I’m in Kansas City, I’ll go by the Strange Music compound. I’ve done a lot of stuff with Strange Music artists because I just vibe with them other there. I love their independent spirit. It’s a blessing to rap with people that you respect. A lot of these n*ggas out there just send songs to each other and never even share the same studio. They might not even give a f*ck about each others music. The first time that me and Tech got down, my dude King Tech put us on song together. Snoop was on that record too. I was kid – that was 10 years ago. It’s dope to see how far he has come since then. He’s the independent King. There is nobody bigger than Tech N9ne that’s independent. You can name me anybody. I know there’s a lot of big dudes and I’m not sh*tting on anybody but I think that Tech is the King.
AllHipHop.com: You know that you have to bring your A-Game when Tech is on that track.
Crooked I: I didn’t even know at first that he was going to be on it. I had already laid my verse down. I let Joey hear it and he wanted to get down on it too. I also originally wanted Hopsin on it. The remix should be me, Tech, Joey and Hopsin. I think that’ll be nasty. I always have a vision for every song.
AllHipHop.com: I noticed that your songs are becoming more structured. I remember when you would just hop on a beat and just go wild. The song concepts and layouts are more structured. You’ve got some beats on this album too!
Crooked I: Thank you, bro. I need some beats that I can just ride to. I’m going to personally drop off this album in areas like South Central, Watts, Compton, Gardena, Hawthorne and of course Long Beach. I’m going to the hoods and barbershops. I’m pulling up unannounced and dropping it off. That’s how strongly that I feel about it. I wanted something to introduce myself to a new generation. I’ve been in this game for a long time and you often have to re-introduce yourself. I wanted something for my n*ggas in Cali and worldwide to just ride to.
AllHipHop.com: The Apex Predator ¬- you’re making a statement with that title.
Crooked I: My whole sh*t behind that was, “Hunt, Kill, Eat.” That’s what an Apex Predator does. I’m going to hunt for opportunity, kill the competition and my whole family is going to eat. A lot of people don’t know what an Apex Predator is and ask why I named my album that and tell me that they don’t like the name. Well, the name is about everything that I’m trying to set in Hip-Hop. This is just the beginning. It’s nowhere near the end. We’re about to hunt mother*ckers down, kill them and eat.
AllHipHop.com: A hungry Crooked I is a dangerous Crooked I.
Crooked I: I’m very hungry. A lot of rappers can’t be hungry anymore. They are so comfortable that they don’t know how to be. I’m starving. If my family doesn’t have it, then I am as hungry as they are. You are right. I am trouble when I’m hungry and I’m like that right now. I’m pressing re-set on my whole career. I don’t even know what I’ve done before Apex.
AllHipHop.com: What lit this fire under you?
Crooked I: It’s the state of Hip-Hop. On a positive “the glass is half full” note, there are a lot of good lyricists out there. But on the “glass is half empty” side, there’s a lot of bullsh*t rappers and they need to step to the side. I want all people to get money and follow their dreams but at the same time we’re not going to pretend that they are the Kings of the Jungle. You’re some n*ggas that are Gazelles running away. Y’all crossed that river and the Crocs and Alligators didn’t eat you – congratulations. Don’t ever think that you’re a Lion though. We’re the Lions out here and we aren’t letting this die for no American Corporate bullsh*t. Hip-Hop is going to always live and lyricism is never going to die. I’m making sure of that. I’m the Apex Predator, man.
AllHipHop.com: You did say the glass is half full though.
Crooked I: That was on some positive sh*t.
AllHipHop.com: This is a time where lyricists have been able to shine.
Crooked I: J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar. Magna Carta dropped. I can’t just sit here and say that there’s only f*cked up sh*t is going on, because there’s good sh*t going on. It would be phony for me to say that Hip-Hop is only in a f*cked up position. There are lyricists out there. Eminem is about to drop – the supreme lyricist.
Then again, you’ve got n*ggas cashing seven figure checks that can’t wrap a Christmas gift. I’ve got to represent for the n*ggas on the corner that are rapping their hearts out, who can’t even get a meeting with an executive because the executive is in to telling artists what kind of Hip-Pop songs to make.
When I went on tour, I met a lot of people in different cities that are talented as f*ck. These people make good music but don’t have the first clue to getting a major record deal. And when they finally do meet somebody in power, they are told to dumb down their music.
AllHipHop.com: That’s something that you’ve heard your entire career.
Crooked I: If I would have dumbed down a long time ago, we wouldn’t be sitting in this studio. We’d be talking on top of the world somewhere. I’d probably have my studio built on top of a sky-scraper (laughs). But seriously, I wouldn’t have it any other way. My thing is what do you stand for? Do you stand for Hip-Hop? Do you stand for lyricism? Do you stand for the culture? If you stand for this real Hip-Hop sh*t, then you stand what I stand for.
(AllHipHop News) Former Roc-A-Fella Records partners Jay Z and Dame Dash reconnected at Chaka Pilgrim’s birthday party last night. Dame uploaded photos of the two estranged friends to his Instagram page. It has been years since the two music executives have been seen together publicly.
Dame had previously posted a video of him listening to Jay’s new album Magna Carta Holy Grail with a caption that read, “In the barber shop listening to jays new album….I can’t front… I still like hearing him pop sh*t cause I know he’s telling the truth…proud to be a part of that..#bittersweet.”

(AllHipHop News) If you checked Instagram this morning you’ve seen a grainy photo of Jay-Z and Dame Dash that could easily be mistaken for a #TbT pic.
Believe it or not, the photo was taken last night a mutual friend and music executive Chaka Pilgrim birthday party.
No word on if this will start the process to mend their friendship but who wouldn’t love to a reunited Rocafella?
(AllHipHop News) Tupac Amaru Shakur was killed seventeen years ago, but the iconic emcee/actor’s place in Hip Hop history lives on forever. Recently, Masta Killa and Mathematics of the Wu-Tang Clan spoke with NME about how Pac’s death altered the culture.
“I just think that just changed Hip Hop, because really before then it was more ‘Who are you?’, originality,” says Mathematics. “Then after that, I think it kind of changed a little bit.”

According to Mathematics, the loss of Pac led to a lot of rap imitators similar to the way Bruce Lee was duplicated after he passed. 2Pac’s murder made Masta Killa question how far removed was the rap game from street life.
“It made me start looking at it like, wow, what do I have do? Can I just come to work as freely as I’ve been?” added Masta Killa. “This part of my life helped me to escape other things where I come from, and now it’s making me look at the situation like maybe I haven’t even really gone too far.”

(AllHipHop News) A reunited Goodie Mob stopped by MTV’s Rap Fix Live on Wednesday to discuss a few topics. Ultimately, the conversation turned to their Dungeon Family brethren André 3000, and why the elusive OutKast emcee has taken so long to release a full length album.
After rumors began to circulate earlier this week that a new Dre solo project would be released in 2014, 3000’s publicist issued a statement saying that an album from Dre is not confirmed. Big Gipp believes that may be André 3000’s way off keeping the press off-balance.

“One thing that we know about 3000, whenever somebody see him doing something and they run and tell the press, he’ll always say I ain’t doing it,” said Gipp. “I know he doing something. That’s ol’ possum right there.”
Fellow Goodie Mob member and long-time friend of André 3000, Cee Lo Green, goes on to give his interpretation of why Dre has taken such a long hiatus from music.
“He just said he had a severe case of stage fright and just kind of been away from the game and didn’t know if he could truly live up… He just said he was bothered by this bar that had been set and maybe he wants to do something different, and he’ll always be his worse competition, his worse critic and maybe he don’t want to live up to what people think he should do,” explained Cee Lo.
André 3000 and Big Boi, as members of OutKast, became only the second Hip Hop act in history to win the Album of the Year Grammy for 2004’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. The 3000 led “Hey Ya!” was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for nine weeks and become one of the biggest selling singles of the 2000’s.
The last full length project from OutKast was the Idlewild soundtrack in 2006. André has also provided guests verses for T.I., Beyoncé, and B.O.B among others recently.
