Trae The Truth’s Gets On Houston Radio Once Again

In 2009, the popular Houston rapper and philanthropist was the center of controversy after one of his events ended in gunfire. Houston Hip Hop station 97.9 The Boxx blamed the rapper’s music as a reason for the violence.

After a publicized feud, the artist was officially banned not only from 97.9, but all Radio One stations; which specifically targets urban markets at 69 radio stations in 22 cities throughout the nation, including his hometown of Houston.

The ban itself extended beyond traditional radio play; it also included not acknowledging any event featuring Trae, including charity endeavors, and resulted in the firing of former Boxx personality DJ Brandi Garcia, after she played a track featuring the artist at at 50 Cent concert, despite the fact that it was a personal event.

In the five years since then, other stations have come onto the scene and quickly fizzled due to lack of funding and resources; but on December 31, 2013 this all changed when Clear Channel, the largest radio conglomerate in the nation, debuted 93.7, seemingly ending The Boxx’s reign as Houston’s sole source for Hip Hop. While The Boxx’s ban against the emcee still stands, Clear Channel has made it clear that it doesn’t apply to themselves, already inserting the Diddy and Jeezy assisted “Hold Up” off of Trae’s latest “I Am King” release into their regular rotation.

“To (finally) be heard on Houston radio again after five years is a true blessing,” says Trae before adding “I’m grateful for them creating a platform. I’ve been in the streets, but not everyone else is in them. Not everyone else could access my music easily, and now they can.”

Also set to debut in Houston is the famed morning show “The Breakfast Club,” which has featured Trae before, but will now be played in Houston as well.

Explains Trae, “A big salute to Doc Wynter and Eddie Martiny, they were responsible for not only giving me a chance, but getting me back onto the radio over at Clear Channel. I think it’s the beginning if a powerful relationship.”

Fans can also look forward to the return of the “I Am Trae” app for iPhone and Android as well as a recently launched outlet for prison art, inspired by the incarceration of his brother.

“I have a lot more things to come with I Am King and in general. There’s also Tip’s solo album, a Hustle Gang project, and a release from Doe B for those that are still waiting on it,” says Trae.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Beyonce Turned Down Kim Kardashian’s Bridesmaid Request?

Beyonce allegedly turned down Kim Kardashian’s request to be a bridesmaid in her wedding, according to Star magazine.

“While Beyonce plays nice with Kim, she finds her family unbearable. Beyonce doesn’t really care for the Kardashian family and she barely even talks to Kim, so she was shocked when she got a voicemail asking to be a bridesmaid,” a source told Star.

Word is, Beyonce feels that Kim doesn’t really care about how close a friend people are, it’s more about their name.

This sounds believable enough but I don’t believe it. Beyonce kept her own wedding secret so I don’t see her being eager to appear in someone else’s as part of the bridal party, unless it’s Solange or maybe Kelly or Michelle and even the latter two are a stretch.

Anyway, RumorFix says they reached out to a Kardashian rep who said the story is false.

Then again, would any publicist admit humiliation on Kim’s part?

What do you think?

The Thingy About Freeway Ricky Ross…

________________

The views and opinions expressed herein are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the views of AllHipHop.com

_________________

I met Freeway Ricky Ross once and was taken aback by his short stature. I mean, he loomed larger than life in my mind, but upon sight, here was this frail man, barely standing 5’6″ and maybe 150 lbs. soaking wet. This is the guy that wreaked havoc on South Central Los Angeles in the 80’s? This is the cat who was gettin’ three million dollars a day off that raw-dog (cocaine) while, at the same time, helping the C.I.A. destroy and decimate a whole generation of black people—for nothing more than for filthy lucre’s sake?

This is why I’m having a hard time being sympathetic towards Freeway Ricky Ross and his lawsuits against rapper Rick Ross aka Ricky Rozay. And so far, Freeway don’ lost two hearings on the matter. Most would agree that rapper Ricky Rozay bit Freeway’s steez, yea, his whole persona down to the bald head and Osama beard, but is this lawsuit worthy? According to two courts, no!

Freeway Ricky Ross suffers from the “Apostle Paul Complex.” This is his dilemma. How can I (or you) be sympathetic to a man who’s caused such harm to his own people while his biggest concern is receiving monetary gain off of a name and lifestyle that was detrimental to his own people? (I’m starting to sound like Minister Paul Scott! God forbid!) Freeway is the Apostle Paul to the hip-hop world I tell you!

For those who remember their Bible learnin’—the Apostle Paul (Saul), before he allegedly met Jesus was a piece of scum! Dude went around the countryside harassing his own people (the Jews) and putting them in jail and oftentimes killing them. Oh, he was one bad m###! And then a day came where he flip-da-script, but by then, it was too late to repent to his own people, so he took his message of salvation over yonder (to the gentiles). He may have met Jesus on the “Road To Damascus” and alla dat! But the Jews weren’t trying to hear none of that newfound religiosity he was preaching! “N####! You kilt my mama! You put my daddy in prison! You raped my sister and you murked my dear ol’ grandma! F### you, your dirty drawhs and the religious garbage you’re spitting!” That was the sentiment of most law-abiding Jews of that time. Nobody was sympathetic just ‘cause you had a change of heart! Take that s### over there!

Similarly, this is Freeway Ricky Ross’s problem. Okay! You’ve changed. You’ve paid your debt to society and now you wanna do good. Great! Now you want this hip-hop generation to side with you against Ricky Rozay over your name and forget what your name stood for—the death of a people! You don’t want Rozay profiting off your name, yet you profited off the backs of welfare mothers and had your people strung out on the devil’s dick! (Drugs)

We’re supposed to be sympathetic towards you just ‘cause a n#### wants to use your dirty name to bolster some street-cred in the rap game? Would you be this gung ho if Ricky Rozay was not a dope (no pun intended) artist (‘cause he is!) and makin’ money off your “perceived” persona?

Gangster rap invented this persona, so what Ricky Rozay did in “adopting,” “plagiarizing,” “biting” and stealing another man’s image was far from out of the ordinary! The rap world is full of rappers named “Gotti,” “Noriega,” “Capone,” “Scarface,” and “Don,” who swipe the names of legendary criminal white guys to feign gangsterized—and even Rick Rozay’s arch-nemesis 50 Cent, who stole his name from the original 50 Cent—a lil n#### with the heart of a lion who was killing people catching bodies all over New York! So really, how much different was Rick Rozay’s actions, other than denying that he was using the moniker of a dude from the West Coast? Why he went through all the double-talking and obfuscation is anyone’s guess. (And we already know why Rozay denied all the correctional officer stuff. S### was bad for business, but a n#### like me would’ve flipped it and said, “Yeah! I was a correctional officer and knew Noriega, the real Noriega and was gettin’ intel and bricks from that n#### when he was locked up in Miami!” How dope of a back-story would that be for a rapper?)

Since I’m from Miami—from the same hood as Ricky Rozay (Carol City) let me clear some s### up for you folks from around the country. When you’re not from a certain city you don’t have the proper knowledge and/or understanding of that city’s crime underworld. You don’t know who the players and pushers and D-boys and all their captains and lieutenants and shooters are. (There are levels to this s###!) Where Rozay fit in that pantheon of miscreants is debatable, but indeed, contrary to the popular belief of 50 Cent dick-riders, 18-months as a correctional officer does not discount for a life of thuggery, chicanery and criminality. And what kind of fool would associate himself with a criminal enterprise responsible for 35 deaths just for a rap career? Get ya mind right! This is “deeper than rap!” Ricky Rozay was in the underworld deep! So much so that he rapped about his affiliation to the murderous Boobie Boys gang proudly. He rapped of Boobie’s incarceration, “… when they snatched Black [Boobie], I cried a 100 nights, he got a 100 bodies, serving a 100 lifes.”

How could a fraud be this respected in the streets—still? Miami ain’t soft! Them n##### from “The Bahas” and Carol City would’ve long dealt with Ricky Rozay for the perpetration of name-dropping and affiliating himself with something he was never part of.

And so, Rozay messed up and chose the name of a ghetto-star from the Left Coast who wants a come-up off his licentious lifestyle, believing that Rozay was never “about that life” from the first.

And now we are left to our own devices. We are expected to shun the man who borrowed his name from a former drug dealer and praise the man who destroyed many communities and people from peddling dope. This is that thingy about Freeway Ricky Ross that rubs me the wrong way. I have respect for Freeway for things he’s doing to better his community and hip-hop, but it’s now time to drop this lawsuit thingy and move on. You f##### up in life and this is part of the punishment–seeing another n#### rock your name and fame. Accept it and own it!

Cash Money’s Kevin Rudolf Suing Woman For Swindling Him Out Of $1 Million

(AllHipHop News) Music producer and performer Kevin Rudolf lost $1 million, and the Cash Money member claims he is owed that money back and then some. Rudolf and businessman James Campbell are suing Ishita Ganguly, ex-wife of business mogul Jim Morrison, for allegedly fooling them into contributing $1 million each for a “no-risk” deal.

The Staten Island Advance is reporting that Rudolf and Cambell’s lawsuit accuses Ganguly of offering them the opportunity to invest in humanitarian, social and economic development projects, but the 32-year-old Huguenot, New York resident used the funds to buy $300,000 worth of jewelry and a reported $2.45 million mansion. They are seeking the return of their $1 million and an unspecified amount in damages.

According to court papers, Ganguly, approached Rudolf and Campbell in April of 2012 introducing herself as the managing director of the U.K. firm Astute Partners. She allegedly proposed that the two men take part in a business venture that involved multinational banks and intergovernmental organizations.

The plaintiffs claim Ganguly informed them they would get a $10 million return on their investment in 21 business days or a full reimbursement of their initial $1 million.

Rudolf and Campbell say neither received any money from Ganguly or Astute even after being promised they would be reimbursed by the company’s named CEO by e-mail. They claim to not have heard from Ganguly since May of 2012.

Ganguly’s lawyer states that his client “vehemently denies all the allegations” and looks forward to clearing her name in court.

Kevin Rudolf is best known for his multiplatinum hit “Let It Rock” featuring Lil Wayne. He also provided production work for artists like Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, The Black Eyed Peas, and Flo Rida.

Kim Kardashian To File Charges Against Man Allegedly Attacked By Kanye West

(AllHipHop News) It seems the latest potential criminal case against Kanye West has amplified. The Chicago rapper was accused of attacking an 18-year-old man at a Beverly Hills medical office on Monday after the individual allegedly called his fiancée Kim Kardashian a “n****r lover.” West is now reportedly under police investigation for misdemeanor assault.

According to TMZ, Kardashian is now preparing to press charges against the 18-year-old man as well. The reality television star claims the individual threatened her life by yelling “I will kill you s###.” The site say she has met with attorneys and will file a police report for criminal threats.

The incident apparently began when the man attempted to hold the door for Kardashian at a chiropractor’s office as paparazzi swarmed the scene. The man then began yelling racial and homophobic slurs at the photographers, but after Kardashian told him to stop using those offensive terms he began screaming at her. Kanye arrived later and then allegedly hit the man inside the building.

Kanye is still facing previous criminal battery and attempted grand theft charges for an encounter with a photog last summer at LAX airport. The G.O.O.D. Music boss is claiming self-defense in that case.

Daily Word – Unwaver Your Faith!!

Happy Tuesday my believers of self and in infinite possibilities! Welcome to the day you shake off your fears and begin to live the life that was intended for you to live! Today’s Daily Word is dedicated to Unwavering your Faith!! It is a fact that fear and faith can never occupy the same space! If you have faith then why worry and vice-versa! Many people live by the creed that says I will believe it when I see it, not realizing that this ideology is wrong by all measures! As Martin Luther King once said “Faith is taking the first step without seeing the whole staircase!” As you continue to journey towards your greatness it is imperative that you understand that you must believe and have faith in your higher power then yourself! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy. Have Unwavering Faith! Know that everything will be alright in the end so if it’s not alright then it’s not the end!! Keep going and never stop until you get what you came for! #NothingCanStopYouButYOU!!!
