When Snoop Dogg passed the torch to Kendrick Lamar and told him to run with it, he did. And now with his epic verse on Big Sean’s “Control,” K. Dot has brought heat that could even rival that of Hell’s kitchen. Kendrick names names, calls himself the King of New York, and definitely raised the bar just as he had intended.
Social media has been in a frenzy over it. The energy surrounding the Compton-native right now is electrifying and so AllHipHop.com has compiled a list of the top 20 twitter responses (so far) to Kendrick Lamar’s contribution to “Control.”
140 characters or less can still really say a lot.
Why isn't anybody tweeting about Kendrick Lamar?

(AllHipHop News) West Coast emcee Warren G is set to join the new campaign for Bronco Wine‘s Allure Moscato. The 120-year-old California wine company, owned by the Franzia Family, tapped the “Regulate” rapper to participate in the brand’s print, broadcast, television, and social media promotions in urban markets.
“Who would’ve known that my favorite Moscato, Allure, would ask me to be their brand partner,” says Warren. “It’s exciting to be in the wine business, and I know we can bring a lot of pleasure to our consuming audience. I’m looking forward to sharing my favorite pink Moscato with everyone.”
Allure Moscato is offered in two different flavors (Allure Moscato and Allure Pink Moscato). It can currently be purchased nationwide at retailers like BevMo!, Whole Foods, and Vons/Safeway or online.
“We’re very pleased to be working with Warren G, who has the bright, lively style of our Allure wines, and the same belief in top quality and value,” added Bronco CEO Fred Franzia. “I’m impressed by Warren G’s interest in wines, and I know we’re going to have a big success.”
The partnership between Warren G and Allure Moscato was conducted by Los Angeles-based Brand Elite, LLC. Brand Elite previously introduced Keyshawn Johnson’s XIX Cabernet Sauvignon.
“This is another wonderful tie-in for our celebrity-winery packages,” said Brand Elite president RC Mills. “We’re excited to partner with one of the largest wine companies in the world and expand our markets.”
Warren G is scheduled to perform at the West Coast Fest 2013 in Indio, California on September 21st.

GUESS WHO’S BACK….BACK A-F*CKIN-GAIN. Eminem releases his new song “Survival” from his upcoming album in the commercial for Call of Duty: Ghost.

“I might diss all the n*ggas who won’t say nothing back.”-Joe Budden
(AllHipHop News) The old I-Hate-Everyone Joe Budden may be back soon but for now we get a glimpse at the aloof indignation that is Joe Budden’s response to the debates created by Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse.
Joe called the song “cute” and attributed the praise and attention given to Kendrick Lamar’s verse as
“He said a bunch of names..I think he had ten hot bars.”
He even said he could “turn into old Joe real quick” and called all the rappers who were named in the song and yet to respond “f*cken p*ssy”.

“Is it an oxymoron, people praying for my hell.”
Big Sean has been on a lyrical warpath these past few weeks. After releasing “Fire” then following that up with the Hip Hop game changer atomic bomb that was “Control” Big Sean stopped by Funkmaster Flex’s show and did what has become traditional: drop bars.
In the verse, Sean mentions fans wanting the old 2009 him and even name drops songs such as “Millions” and “Desire, Want and Need” from his 2009 mixtape UKnowBigSean Vol. 2.
Check out video of Sean spitting the scathing 2 minute-plus verse:
I don’t really know what’s what at this point. Nothing that has come after Kendrick’s “Control” has fully measured up to the original. I guess this redefines “Bomb First.” One person that people are still looking at is Joe Budden. Well, its been crickets over there, but there is a hint that Joe may still come back at the Compton representer.
There has been some artwork floating around the internet that seems to suggest that Joe Budden is coming. Its been over 24 hours. Chop Chop!

That pic above says it all.

(AllHipHop News) The legacy of pioneering DJ Jam Master Jay will be celebrated tomorrow (August 15th), during a back-to-school event hosted by good friend Eric “Shake” James.
The event will take place at James’ Three Stripes Barber & Beauty barber shop, which is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Run-DMC group member Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, as well as Mayor Barrett and Alderman Willie Wade are confirmed to attend the event, to honor the slain DJ, who was gunned down in his Hollis, Queens, studio on October 30, 2002.
“We still miss him terribly,” Shake told AllHipHop.com. “We keep it positive and try to live our lives the way he lived his- by helping others. With this event we work to do something good for my community in Jay’s name. Last year was our first event. We were able to distribute 50 free book bags to kids. This year we’ll be giving out 100 book bags, 100 Adidas sneakers, Adidas socks and Adidas snap backs. The book bags will be filled with school supplies, pencils papers, folders, crayons, rulers, glue and calculators.”
During the event, DMC will sign autographs and also giveaway back-to-school supplies, free, limited-edition Adidas/Jam Master Jay T-shirts, free haircuts and more.
“Adidas has been a big supporter. With the Adidas Unite All Originals campaign, they let me design a limited edition Jam Master Jay Back 2 School tee that we will also give out at the event,” Shake said. “My shop will also be giving the kids free haircuts. It will be a fun community event.”
Now in its second year, Shake aims to expand the scope of next year’s event, with plans for a free concert next year.
The JMJ event takes place August 15th, from 12-4pm at Three Stripes Barber & Beauty, located at 1935 West Hampton in Milwaukee.
“I know who I paid, dawg, Searchlight Publishing”
(AllHipHop News) Jay Z did not have to pay Nas a dime to use the vocal sample from Nas’ “The World Is Yours” on the chorus of “Dead Presidents II” and let him know that on “Takeover”. Ironically, before the world got to hear this verbal lashing over publishing, Hova himself had to convince The Doors’ drummer John Densmore to be able to clear the sample.
According to Densmore himself in an interview with HuffPost Live, he was apprehensive to the idea of Jay Z sampling The Doors’ “Five To One” song on “Takeover”:
“Hip Hop was just coming on, and I was like, ‘What is this stuff? There’s no melody.”
Jay Z then sent the reluctant drummer a Def Jam T-Shirt as well as a letter pointing out the similarities between Hip Hop and Rock:
“Jay Z wrote me a letter saying, ‘Hey, we’re fighting the authority just like you guys did back then'”
Check below to hear The Doors’ “Five To One” song that was sampled for Jay Z’s “Takeover”:
B.o.B. isn’t letting Kendrick Lamar slide with “Control.” He returns a different kind of “fire” as a response to the incendiary record that has everybody talking. B.o.B. begins flowing like Kendrick, suggesting that the Compton rapper has borrow flows, and ends by showing how he’s different from the rest. Check it.
